Abstract
This Letter reports the observation of WZγ production and a measurement of its cross section using 140.1±1.2 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data recorded at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The WZγ production cross section, with both the W and Z bosons decaying leptonically, pp→WZγ→ℓ^{'}^{±}νℓ^{+}ℓ^{-}γ (ℓ^{(^{'})}=e, μ), is measured in a fiducial phase-space region defined such that the leptons and the photon have high transverse momentum and the photon is isolated. The cross section is found to be 2.01±0.30(stat)±0.16(syst) fb. The corresponding standard model predicted cross section calculated at next-to-leading order in perturbative quantum chromodynamics and at leading order in the electroweak coupling constant is 1.50±0.06 fb. The observed significance of the WZγ signal is 6.3σ, compared with an expected significance of 5.0σ.

Abstract
Approved antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) for HER2-positive breast cancer include trastuzumab emtansine and trastuzumab deruxtecan. To develop a differentiated HER2 ADC, we chose an antibody that does not compete with trastuzumab or pertuzumab for binding, conjugated to a reduced potency PBD (pyrrolobenzodiazepine) dimer payload. PBDs are potent cytotoxic agents that alkylate and cross-link DNA. In our study, the PBD dimer is modified to alkylate, but not cross-link DNA. This HER2 ADC, DHES0815A, demonstrates in vivo efficacy in models of HER2-positive and HER2-low cancers and is well-tolerated in cynomolgus monkey safety studies. Mechanisms of action include induction of DNA damage and apoptosis, activity in non-dividing cells, and bystander activity. A dose-escalation study (ClinicalTrials.gov: NCT03451162) in patients with HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer, with the primary objective of evaluating the safety and tolerability of DHES0815A and secondary objectives of characterizing the pharmacokinetics, objective response rate, duration of response, and formation of anti-DHES0815A antibodies, is reported herein. Despite early signs of anti-tumor activity, patients at higher doses develop persistent, non-resolvable dermal, ocular, and pulmonary toxicities, which led to early termination of the phase 1 trial.

Abstract
The antiarrhythmic drug ajmaline is a monoterpenoid indole alkaloid (MIA) isolated from the Ayurvedic plant Rauvolfia serpentina (Indian Snakeroot). Research into the biosynthesis of ajmaline and another renowned MIA chemotherapeutic drug vinblastine has yielded pivotal advancements in the fields of plant specialized metabolism and engineering over recent decades. While the majority of vinblastine biosynthesis has been recently elucidated, the quest for comprehending ajmaline biosynthesis remains incomplete, marked by the absence of two critical enzymes. Here, we show the discovery and characterization of these two elusive reductases, alongside the identification of two physiologically relevant esterases that complete the biosynthesis of ajmaline. We show that ajmaline biosynthesis proceeds with vomilenine 1,2(R)-reduction followed by its 19,20(S)-reduction. This process is further modulated by two root-expressing esterases that deacetylate 17-O-acetylnorajmaline. Expanding upon the successful completion of the ajmaline biosynthetic pathway, we engineer the de novo biosynthesis of ajmaline in Baker's yeast.

Abstract
The development of metal-free and recyclable catalysts for significant yet challenging transformations of naturally abundant feedstocks has long been sought after. In this work, we contribute a general strategy of combining the rationally designed crystalline covalent organic framework (COF) with a newly developed chiral frustrated Lewis pair (CFLP) to afford chiral frustrated Lewis pair framework (CFLPF), which can efficiently promote the asymmetric olefin hydrogenation in a heterogeneous manner, outperforming the homogeneous CFLP counterpart. Notably, the metal-free CFLPF exhibits superior activity/enantioselectivity in addition to excellent stability/recyclability. A series of in situ spectroscopic studies, kinetic isotope effect measurements, and density-functional theory computational calculations were also performed to gain an insightful understanding of the superior asymmetric hydrogenation catalysis performances of CFLPF. Our work not only increases the versatility of catalysts for asymmetric catalysis but also broadens the reactivity of porous organic materials with the addition of frustrated Lewis pair (FLP) chemistry, thereby suggesting a new approach for practical and substantial transformations through the advancement of novel catalysts from both concept and design perspectives.

Abstract
Objective: To compare the prognostic value of 3 diagnostic criteria of bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) in preterm infants with gestational age<32 weeks. Methods: The retrospective cohort study was conducted to collect the clinical data of 285 preterm infants with BPD admitted to the Department of Neonatology, Children's Hospital Affiliated to Zhengzhou University from January 2019 to September 2021, who were followed up regularly after discharge. The primary composite adverse outcome was defined as death or severe respiratory morbidity from 36 weeks of corrected gestational age to 18 months of corrected age, and the secondary composite adverse outcome was defined as death or neurodevelopmental impairment. According to the primary or secondary composite adverse outcomes, the preterm infants were divided into the adverse prognosis group and the non-adverse prognosis group. The 2001 National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) criteria, 2018 NICHD criteria, and 2019 Neonatal Research Network (NRN) criteria were used to diagnose and grade BPD in preterm infants. Chi-square test, Logistic regression analysis, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve and Delong test were used to analyze the prognostic value of the 3 diagnostic criteria. Results: The 285 preterm infants had a gestational age of 29.4 (28.1, 30.6) weeks and birth weight of 1 230 (1 000, 1 465) g, including 167 males (58.6%). Among 285 premature infants who completed follow-up, the primary composite adverse outcome occurred in 124 preterm infants (43.5%), and the secondary composite adverse outcome occurred in 40 preterm infants (14.0%). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that severe BPD according to the 2001 NICHD criteria, gradeⅡand Ⅲ BPD according to the 2018 NICHD criteria and grade 2 and 3 BPD according to the 2019 NRN criteria were all risk factors for primary composite adverse outcomes (all P<0.05). ROC curve showed that the area under the curve (AUC) of the 2018 NICHD criteria and 2019 NRN criteria were both higher than that of the 2001 NICHD criteria (0.70 and 0.70 vs. 0.61, Z=4.49 and 3.35, both P<0.001), but there was no significant difference between the 2018 NICHD and 2019 NRN criteria (Z=0.38, P=0.702). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that the secondary composite adverse outcomes were all associated with grade Ⅲ BPD according to the 2018 NICHD criteria and grade 3 BPD according to the 2019 NRN criteria (both P<0.05). ROC curve showed that the AUC of the 2018 NICHD criteria and 2019 NRN criteria were both higher than that of the 2001 NICHD criteria (0.71 and 0.71 vs. 0.58, Z=2.93 and 3.67, both P<0.001), but there was no statistically significant difference between the 2018 NICHD and 2019 NRN criteria (Z=0.02, P=0.984). Conclusion: The 2018 NICHD and 2019 NRN criteria demonstrate good and comparable predictive value for the primary and secondary composite adverse outcomes in preterm infants with BPD, surpassing the predictive efficacy of the 2001 NICHD criteria.

Abstract
Assembly ubiquitously occurs in nature and gives birth to numerous functional biomaterials and sophisticated organisms. In this work, chiral hydrogen-bonded organic-inorganic frameworks (HOIFs) are synthesized via biomimicking the self-assembly process from amino acids to proteins. Enjoying the homohelical configurations analogous to α-helix, the HOIFs exhibit remarkable chiroptical activity including the chiral fluorescence (glum = 1.7 × 10-3) that is untouched among the previously reported hydrogen-bonded frameworks. Benefitting from the dynamic feature of hydrogen bonding, HOIFs enable enantio-discrimination of chiral aliphatic substrates with imperceivable steric discrepancy based on fluorescent change. Moreover, the disassembled HOIFs after recognition applications are capable of being facilely regenerated and self-purified via aprotic solvent-induced reassembly, leading to at least three consecutive cycles without losing the enantioselectivity. The underlying mechanism of chirality bias is decoded by the experimental isothermal titration calorimetry together with theoretic simulation.

Abstract
Ursolic acid (UA) is a naturally occurring pentacyclic triterpenoid widely found in fruits and vegetables. It has been reported that UA has anti-inflammatory effects. However, its efficacy and mechanism of action in the treatment of chronic prostatitis (CP) remain unclear. This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of UA treatment in CP and further explore the underlying mechanism. CP rat and pyroptosis cell models were established in vivo and in vitro, respectively. The efficacy of UA in inhibiting CP was evaluated via haematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining and measurement of inflammatory cytokines. RNA sequencing and molecular docking were used to predict the therapeutic targets of UA in CP. The expression of pyroptosis-related proteins was examined using various techniques, including immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and flow cytometry. UA significantly ameliorated pathological damage and reduced the levels of proinflammatory cytokines in the CP model rats. RNA sequencing analysis and molecular docking suggested that NLRP3, Caspase-1, and GSDMD may be key targets. We also found that UA decreased ROS levels, alleviated oxidative stress, and inhibited p-NF-κB protein expression both in vivo and in vitro. UA improved pyroptosis morphology as indicated by electron microscope and inhibited the expression of the pyroptosis-related proteins NLRP3, Caspase-1, ASC, and GSDMD, reversed the levels of IL-1β, IL-18, and lactate dehydrogenase in vivo and in vitro. UA can mitigate CP by regulating the NLRP3 inflammasome-mediated Caspase-1/GSDMD pathway. Therefore, UA may be a potential for the treatment of CP.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Acral melanoma, the most common subtype of melanoma in Asians, is often diagnosed at an advanced stage and responds poorly to current programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) inhibitors. OBJECTIVES To evaluate the safety and efficacy of TQB2450 and anlotinib in patients with advanced acral melanoma in a phase Ib study (NCT03991975). METHODS Patients received TQB2450 (1200 mg every 3 weeks) and anlotinib (10 mg or 12 mg once daily, 2-week on/1-week off) in the dose-escalation and dose-expansion phases. The primary endpoints were dose-limiting toxicity (DLT), maximum tolerated dose (MTD) and objective response rate (ORR). RESULTS Nineteen patients were enrolled between June 2019 and June 2022. The majority of patients (16 of 19 patients) received anlotinib and TQB2450 as first-line treatment. No DLTs were observed, and MTD was not reached. Eighteen (94.7%) out of 19 patients experienced treatment-related adverse events (TRAEs), but most were grade 1 or 2. Grade 3 or greater TRAEs occurred in seven patients (36.8%). The ORR was 26.3% (two complete responses and three partial responses). The disease control rate was 73.7%. The median duration of response was 30.3 months [95% confidence interval (CI): 5.8-NA]. The median progression-free survival (PFS) was 5.5 months (95% CI: 2.8-NA), and median overall survival was 20.3 months (95% CI: 14.8-NA). Whole-exome sequencing suggested that acquired drug resistance might be attributed to activation of the MAPK signalling pathway and transformation to an immunosuppressive tumour environment. CONCLUSIONS TQB2450 combined with anlotinib showed favourable tolerance and promising anti-tumour activity with a prolonged PFS compared with anti-PD1 monotherapy in patients with advanced acral melanoma.

Abstract
This study tested the hypothesis that ITRI Biofilm prevents adhesion of the chest cavity. Combined extracorporeal shock wave (ECSW) + bone marrow-derived autologous endothelial progenitor cell (EPC) therapy was superior to monotherapy for improving heart function (left ventricular ejection fraction [LVEF]) in minipigs with ischemic cardiomyopathy (IC) induced by an ameroid constrictor applied to the mid-left anterior descending artery. The minipigs (n = 30) were equally designed into group 1 (sham-operated control), group 2 (IC), group 3 (IC + EPCs/by directly implanted into the left ventricular [LV] myocardium; 3 [+]/3[-] ITRI Biofilm), group 4 (IC + ECSW; 3 [+]/[3] - ITRI Biofilm), and group 5 (IC + EPCs-ECSW; 3 [+]/[3] - ITRI Biofilm). EPC/ECSW therapy was administered by day 90, and the animals were euthanized, followed by heart harvesting by day 180. In vitro studies demonstrated that cell viability/angiogenesis/cell migratory abilities/mitochondrial concentrations were upregulated in EPCs treated with ECSW compared with those in EPCs only (all Ps < 0.001). The LVEF was highest in group 1/lowest in group 2/significantly higher in group 5 than in groups 3/4 (all Ps < 0.0001) by day 180, but there was no difference in groups 3/4. The adhesion score was remarkably lower in patients who received ITRI Biofilm treatment than in those who did not (all Ps <0.01). The protein expressions of oxidative stress (NOX-1/NOX-2/oxidized protein)/apoptotic (mitochondrial-Bax/caspase3/PARP)/fibrotic (TGF-β/Smad3)/DNA/mitochondria-damaged (γ-H2AX/cytosolic-cytochrome-C/p-DRP1), and heart failure/pressure-overload (BNP [brain natriuretic peptide]/β-MHC [beta myosin heavy chain]) biomarkers displayed a contradictory manner of LVEF among the groups (all Ps < 0.0001). The protein expression of endothelial biomarkers (CD31/vWF)/small-vessel density revealed a similar LVEF within the groups (all Ps < 0.0001). ITRI Biofilm treatment prevented chest cavity adhesion and was superior in restoring IC-related LV dysfunction when combined with EPC/ECSW therapy compared with EPC/ECSW therapy alone.

Abstract
Developing efficient and facilitated recycling photocatalysts for H2O2 formation is an ideal strategy for solar-to-chemical energy conversion. In this work, we synthesized ultrathin C3N5 nanosheets through the process of thermal polymerization and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP)-assisted solvent exfoliation. Subsequently, the obtained ultrathin C3N5 nanosheets were tightly attached to the surface of TiO2-x arrays, resulting in an enhanced photocatalytic H2O2 production rate. The density functional theory (DFT) calculations demonstrate that an internal electric field (IEF) is generated between the TiO2-x array and the ultrathin C3N5 due to the different work functions. The presence of IEF provides an additional driving force for carrier separation and transfer in the heterointerface. Benefitting from this unique strategy, the optimal heterojunction obtains the highest H2O2 formation rate (2.93 μmol/L/min), which is about 4.1 times than that of TiO2-x arrays. The rotating disk electrode (RDE) analysis manifests H2O2 formation through 2e--dominated oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). This research provides an innovative strategy for assembling a type-II heterojunction with a useful IEF for efficient photocatalytic H2O2 production.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Massive intestinal loss resulting in short bowel syndrome has been linked to intestinal failure associated liver disease. Efforts to elucidate the driving force behind the observed hepatic injury have identified inflammatory mediators, alterations in the microbiome, extent of structural and functional intestinal adaptation, and toxic shifts in the bile acid pool. In the present study, we posit that ileocecal resection interrupts the delivery of these hepatotoxic substances to the liver by physically disrupting the enterohepatic circulation, thereby shielding the liver from exposure to the aforementioned noxious stimuli. METHODS Mice underwent sham, 50% proximal, or 50% distal small bowel resection (SBR), with or without tauroursodeoxycolic acid supplementation. Enterohepatic signaling and nonsense-mediated ribonucleic acid (RNA) decay were evaluated and correlated with hepatic injury. RESULTS When compared to 50% proximal SBR, mice that underwent ileocecal resection exhibited reduced hepatic oxidative stress and exhibited a more physiological bile acid profile with increased de novo bile acid synthesis, enhanced colonic bile acid signaling, and reduced hepatic proliferation. Distal intestinal resection promoted an adaptive response including via the nonsense-mediated RNA decay pathway to satisfactorily process injurious messenger RNA and successfully maintain homeostasis. By contrast, this adaptive response was not observed in the proximal SBR group and hepatic injury persisted. CONCLUSIONS In summary, interruption of enterohepatic circulation via ileocecal resection abrogates the liver's exposure to toxic and inflammatory mediators while promoting physiological adaptations in bile acid metabolism and maintaining existing homeostatic pathways.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Although infection rates may increase after relaxation of the zero COVID strategy, the extensive vaccination campaign in China could potentially curb the spread of COVID-19, which may be associated with a low level of risk perception and post-traumatic stress symptoms (PTSS). However, the relationship between vaccination, risk perception and PTSS has not been studied extensively. This study aims to examine the associations between the number of COVID-19 vaccine doses, consistency in the type of each dose and time since vaccination with PTSS, and the mediating role of risk perception on such relationships in China. STUDY DESIGN Cross-sectional sampling with a self-report questionnaire was used to measure vaccination, PTSS and risk perception. METHODS The survey was conducted in Beijing, China, from 13 January to 9 February 2023. Linear regression analyses were conducted to test the relationship between vaccination, risk perception and PTSS. RESULTS The analysis included 55,803 individuals. In total, 72.86 % of participants received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Regression results indicated that people with two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine had a lower level of PTSS (β = -1.232, 95 % confidence interval [CI]: -1.930, -0.534) than those who had not received any doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Only the negative relationship between two-dose vaccination and PTSS was mediated by risk perception, while the negative relationship between the time since vaccination and PTSS was suppressed by risk perception. CONCLUSIONS This study showed that receiving the COVID-19 vaccine reduced PTSS by decreasing perceived risk. Vaccination time was negatively associated with PTSS, but this relationship was suppressed by risk perception.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To analyze the clinical and genetic characteristics of a patient with long QT syndrome type 14 (long QT syndrome-14, LQT14, OMIM # 616247) caused by a de novo CALM1 mutation. METHODS The clinical data of the patient were collected, next-generation sequencing technology was used to determine the exome gene sequence of the patient, and the suspected pathogenic locus was verified by Sanger sequencing. RESULTS A 5-year and 9-month-old girl was admitted to the hospital due to a syncopal episode. During the attack, the main symptoms were loss of consciousness, cyanosis of the face and lips, and weakness of limbs. The child had multiple seizures in the past, all of which occurred after emotional excitement and activity. She was diagnosed with epilepsy for more than 3 years, but the effect of antiepileptic treatment was not satisfactory. The electrocardiogram was normal in the past. A month ago, convulsions occurred again after exercise, and the electrocardiogram showed QTc 496 ms. The treadmill test showed a significant prolongation of QTc after exercise, and the genetic results suggested a new heterozygous variant of CALM1, c.395A>G; p. (Asp132Gly). Consequently, she was diagnosed with LQT14 and treated with propranolol. During a follow-up of 15 months, there were no seizures or syncope. CONCLUSIONS This patient had multiple episodes of convulsions or syncope after emotional stimulation or activity, with intermittent prolongation of the QTc on routine ECG, marked prolongation of the QTc after exercise, and T-wave alternans, which differed from the LQT14 phenotype caused by the previous CALM1 mutation.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Cognitive reserve (CR) contributes to preserving cognition when facing brain aging and damage. CR has been linked to dementia risk in late life. However, the association between CR and cognitive changes and brain imaging measures, especially in midlife, is unclear. OBJECTIVE We aimed to explore the association of CR with cognitive decline and structural brain differences in middle and older age. DESIGN This longitudinal study was from the UK Biobank project where participants completed baseline surveys between 2006 to 2010 and were followed (mean follow-up: 9 years). SETTING A population-based study. PARTICIPANTS A total of 42,301 dementia-free participants aged 40-70 were followed-up to detect cognitive changes. A subsample (n=34,041) underwent brain magnetic resonance imaging scans. MEASUREMENTS We used latent class analysis to generate a CR indicator (categorized as high, moderate, and low) based on education, occupation, and multiple cognitively stimulating activities. Cognitive tests for global and domain-specific cognition were administrated at baseline and follow-up. Total brain, white matter, grey matter, hippocampal, and white matter hyperintensity volumes (TBV, WMV, GMV, HV, and WMHV) were assessed at the follow-up examination. Data were analyzed using mixed-effects models and analysis of covariance. RESULTS At baseline, 16,032 (37.9%), 10,709 (25.3%), and 15,560 (36.8%) participants had low, moderate, and high levels of CR, respectively. Compared with low CR, high CR was associated with slower declines in global cognition (β [95% confidence interval]: 0.10 [0.08, 0.11]), prospective memory (0.10 [0.06, 0.15]), fluid intelligence (0.07 [0.04, 0.10]), and reaction time (0.04 [0.02, 0.06]). Participants with high CR had lower TBV, WMV, GMV, and WMHV, but higher HV when controlling for global cognition (corrected P <0.01 for all). The significant relationships between CR and cognition and TBV were present among both middle-aged (<60 years) and older (≥60 years) participants. The CR-cognition association remained significant despite reductions in brain structural properties. CONCLUSIONS Higher CR is associated with slower cognitive decline, higher HV, and lower microvascular burden, especially in middle age. Individuals with high CR could tolerate smaller brain volumes while maintaining cognition. The benefit of CR for cognition is independent of structural brain differences. Our findings highlight the contribution of enhancing CR to helping compensate for neuroimaging alterations and ultimately prevent cognitive decline.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Sepsis-induced acute kidney injury is related to an increased mortality rate by modulating ferroptosis through ginsenoside Rg1. In this study, we explored the specific mechanism of it. METHODS Human renal tubular epithelial cells (HK-2) were transfected with oe-ferroptosis suppressor protein 1 and treated with lipopolysaccharide for ferroptosis induction, and they were then treated with ginsenoside Rg1 and ferroptosis suppressor protein 1 inhibitor. Ferroptosis suppressor protein 1, CoQ10, CoQ10H2, and intracellular NADH levels in HK-2 cells were assessed by Western blot, ELISA kit, and NAD/NADH kit. NAD+/NADH ratio was also calculated, and 4-Hydroxynonal fluorescence intensity was assessed by immunofluorescence. HK-2 cell viability and death were assessed by CCK-8 and propidium iodide staining. Ferroptosis, lipid peroxidation, and reactive oxygen species accumulation were assessed by Western blot, kits, flow cytometry, and C11 BODIPY 581/591 molecular probe. Sepsis rat models were established by cecal ligation and perforation to investigate whether ginsenoside Rg1 regulated the ferroptosis suppressor protein 1-CoQ10-NAD(P)H pathway in vivo. RESULTS LPS treatment diminished ferroptosis suppressor protein 1, CoQ10, CoQ10H2, and NADH contents in HK-2 cells, while facilitating NAD+/NADH ratio and relative 4- Hydroxynonal fluorescence intensity. FSP1 overexpression inhibited lipopolysaccharideinduced lipid peroxidation in HK-2 cells via the ferroptosis suppressor protein 1-CoQ10- NAD(P)H pathway. The ferroptosis suppressor protein 1-CoQ10-NAD(P)H pathway suppressed lipopolysaccharide-induced ferroptosis in HK-2 cells. Ginsenoside Rg1 alleviated ferroptosis in HK-2 cells by regulating the ferroptosis suppressor protein 1-CoQ10- NAD(P)H pathway. Moreover, ginsenoside Rg1 regulated the ferroptosis suppressor protein 1-CoQ10-NAD(P)H pathway in vivo. CONCLUSION Ginsenoside Rg1 alleviated sepsis-induced acute kidney injury by blocking renal tubular epithelial cell ferroptosis via the ferroptosis suppressor protein 1-CoQ10- NAD(P)H pathway.

Abstract
In this study, we present an ultralow noise single-frequency fiber laser operating at 1550 nm, utilizing a traveling-wave ring cavity configuration. The frequency noise of the laser approaches the thermal noise limit, achieving a white noise level of 0.025 Hz2/Hz, resulting in an instantaneous linewidth of 0.08 Hz. After amplification, the output power reaches 4.94 W while maintaining the same low white noise level as the laser oscillator. The integration linewidths of the laser oscillator and amplifier are 221 Hz and 665 Hz, respectively, with both exhibiting relative intensity noises that approach the quantum shot noise limit. To the best of our knowledge, this work shows the lowest frequency noise combined with relatively high power for this type of ring cavity fiber laser.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Pembrolizumab is well-tolerated in pediatric patients with advanced tumors, consistent with results in adults. However, information on the safety and efficacy of adjuvant pembrolizumab in children and adolescents with melanoma is lacking. OBJECTIVES To compare pembrolizumab versus high-dose interferon-α2b (HDI) as adjuvant therapy in pediatric patients with melanoma. METHODS We performed a retrospective study of pediatric patients diagnosed with melanoma between January 2008 and April 2022. Relapse-free survival (RFS) and the 1-year RFS rate were compared between patients receiving adjuvant pembrolizumab or HDI. RESULTS Seventy-five pediatric patients with melanoma were screened from a database of 6,013 patients. Twenty-four patients were finally enrolled, of whom 9 received pembrolizumab and 15 received HDI as adjuvant therapy. By August 31, 2022, the median follow-up times were 23.6 months and 98.7 months in the pembrolizumab and HDI groups, respectively. There was no significant difference in median RFS between two groups (not reached versus 38.7 months, P = 0.11). The median overall survival was not reached in either group. The 1-year RFS rates were 88.9% and 66.7% in the pembrolizumab and HDI groups, respectively. All adverse events in the pembrolizumab group were grade 1 or 2, but grade 3-5 adverse events occurred in two (13%) patients receiving HDI. CONCLUSIONS RFS was similar in pediatric patients with melanoma receiving adjuvant pembrolizumab or HDI, but pembrolizumab was associated with a reduced risk of recurrence and a more favorable safety profile. However, due to the small sample size and differences in follow-up time, larger and prospective studies are still warranted to explore better adjuvant therapies for pediatric melanoma.

Abstract
Developing safe, eco-friendly, and functionally edible packaging materials has attracted global attention. Essential oils, can be incorporated into packaging materials as antioxidant and antibacterial agents. However, their high volatility and discontinuous film matrix issues may cause a rough film surface, limiting the application in food packaging. In this study, thyme essential oil microemulsion (TEO-M) was prepared and incorporated into a pullulan-sodium alginate (PS) film. The TEO-M incorporation endowed the PS film with antioxidant and UV protection properties. The antioxidant activities of the TEO-M-incorporated PS film were significantly better than those of the TEO-C (thyme essential oil coarse emulsion)-incorporated PS film. In comparison to TEO-C, the distribution of TEO-M in the film is more uniform. Lipid oxidation and the growth of microorganisms in chilled pork were inhibited by incorporating TEO-M at a concentration of 50 mg/mL in the PS film (PS-50M). After 10 days of storage at 4 °C, the total viable count (TVC) of chilled pork preserved in the PS-50M material was significantly reduced compared to the control group (P < 0.05). This study shows that incorporating TEO-M in the PS film provides a method for applying essential oils in food packaging, which may have great potential in the food industry.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Glutamate stimuli and hyperactivation of its receptor are predominant determinants of ischemia-induced cytotoxic cerebral edema, which is closely associated with protein nanoparticle (PN)-induced increases in osmotic pressure. Herein, we investigated the electrochemical and mechanical mechanisms underlying the neuron swelling induced by PNs via the co-activation of N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor subunit (NMDAR) and excitatory metabotropic glutamate receptors (mGluRs). RESULTS We observed that co-activation of ionic glutamate receptor NMDAR and Group I metabotropic mGluRs promoted alteration of PN-induced membrane potential and increased intracellular osmosis, which was closely associated with calcium and voltage-dependent ion channels. In addition, activation of NMDAR-induced calmodulin (CaM) and mGluR downstream diacylglycerol (DAG)/protein kinase C α (PKCα) were observed to play crucial roles in cytotoxic hyperosmosis. The crosstalk between CaM and PKCα could upregulate the sensitivity and sustained opening of sulfonylurea receptor 1 (SUR1)-transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily M member 4 (TRPM4) and transmembrane protein 16 A (TMEM16A) channels, respectively, maintaining the massive Na+/Cl- influx, and the resultant neuron hyperosmosis and swelling. Intracellular PNs and Na+/Cl- influx were found to be as potential targets for cerebral edema treatment, using the neurocyte osmosis system and a cerebral ischemic rat model. CONCLUSIONS This study highlights PNs as a key factor in "electrochemistry-tension" signal transduction controlling Na+/Cl- ion channels and increased osmotic pressure in ischemia-induced cytotoxic edema. Moreover, enhanced sensitivity in both Na+ and Cl- ion channels also has a crucial role in cerebral edema.

Wang F, Colonnello E, Zhang H, Sansone A, Wang C, Dolci S, Guo J, Jannini EA. Comparing Western and traditional Chinese medicine for male sexual dysfunction: can Klotho represent a silk road? Andrology 2023. Abstract
Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and Western Medicine both have shown efficacy in treating male sexual dysfunction (MSD). The aim of this perspective paper is to discuss a possible link between Western medicine and TCM in the MSD field as represented by the entity of Klotho. Klotho is a recently discovered protein, mainly expressed in the kidney, encoded by the anti-aging gene klotho. Not only is Klotho significantly correlated with the development and progression of kidney diseases and their complications, but increasing evidence indicates that it is also closely related to MSD. A comprehensive search within PubMed database was performed to retrieve available evidence on Klotho's roles, particularly in kidney and in MSD. Indeed, in the TCM theory, the concept of the "kidney" is entirely different from the Western medicine: it is closely related to metabolism and to the reproductive, nervous, endocrine systems, being more than just a urinary organ. According to the "Kidney storing essence (jīng) and governing reproduction" (KSEGR) theory, a cornerstone in TCM, the treatment of MSD mainly consists of restoring the kidney's function. Signs of decreasing kidney essence show a consistent similarity to deficiencies of Klotho, also for what regards the male sexual function. Based on the current evidence, Klotho may represent a potential biological indicator for sexual desire and sexual function and a kind of new scientific Silk Road between TCM and Western medicine for MSD; nevertheless, there is a need to conduct further high-quality research to prove this hypothesis.

ACS OMEGA 2023; 8:49334-49346. Abstract
The control and utilization of coalbed methane (CBM) are crucial for ensuring the safety of coal mining operations and mitigating greenhouse gas emissions. Predrainage of CBM from boreholes plays a pivotal role in preventing CBM accidents, harnessing CBM energy resources, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. To better understand the evolution of key parameters during the predrainage process of CBM boreholes, this study, based on fundamental assumptions of coupling models, integrates the theories of elasticity, seepage mechanics, and fluid mechanics. It establishes a comprehensive mathematical model that reveals the interrelationships among the stress field, deformation field, and seepage field within methane-containing coal systems. By comparing numerical solutions with analytical solutions and conducting physical similarity simulation experiments, the study demonstrates the correctness of the methane-containing coal fluid-solid coupling model. The model developed in this study represents an improvement over traditional methane-containing coal seepage theories and fluid-solid coupling model theories and can be widely applied in the prevention of coal and CBM outbursts as well as CBM extraction.

Abstract
A measurement of the mass of the Higgs boson combining the H→ZZ^{*}→4ℓ and H→γγ decay channels is presented. The result is based on 140 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data collected by the ATLAS detector during LHC run 2 at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV combined with the run 1 ATLAS mass measurement, performed at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, yielding a Higgs boson mass of 125.11±0.09(stat)±0.06(syst)=125.11±0.11 GeV. This corresponds to a 0.09% precision achieved on this fundamental parameter of the Standard Model of particle physics.

Abstract
A search for events with a dark photon produced in association with a dark Higgs boson via rare decays of the standard model Z boson is presented, using 139 fb^{-1} of sqrt[s]=13 TeV proton-proton collision data recorded by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The dark boson decays into a pair of dark photons, and at least two of the three dark photons must each decay into a pair of electrons or muons, resulting in at least two same-flavor opposite-charge lepton pairs in the final state. The data are found to be consistent with the background prediction, and upper limits are set on the dark photon's coupling to the dark Higgs boson times the kinetic mixing between the standard model photon and the dark photon, α_{D}ϵ^{2}, in the dark photon mass range of [5, 40] GeV except for the ϒ mass window [8.8, 11.1] GeV. This search explores new parameter space not previously excluded by other experiments.
