Abstract
OBJECTIVE To compare the difference between non-operative and operative treatment of humeral shaft fractures. METHODS From March 2005 to October 2012, 252 cases of humeral shaft fractures were treated and were adequately followed up. According to the treatment methods, the patients were divided into 2 groups: the non-operative group and the operative group. In the non-operative group, there were 76 cases treated with plaster/small splint fixation, meanwhile there were 176 cases treated with internal fixation either by plating or by nailing in the operative group. The follow-up parameters included: fracture healing rate, fracture union time, complications rate, Constant- Murley shoulder score and Mayo elbow score. RESULTS The mean follow-up period was (31.24±20.06) months (ranging 6 to 103 months). There were no statistical differences in age, open fracture number, fracture site and Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefragen (AO) classification between the non-operative group and the operative group. The fracture healing rate: the non-operative group: 96.1%(72/76), the operative group: 97.7%(172/176), P=0.46; the fracture union time: the non-operative group: (10.24±2.93) weeks, the operative group: (10.69±2.51) weeks, P=0.22; the complication rate: the non-operative group: 5.3%(4/76),the operative group: 15.3%(27/176), P=0.03. The complications included: nonunion: the non-operative group: 3.95%(3/76), the operative group: 2.3%(4/176), P=0.434; radial nerve palsies: the non-operative group: 0%(0/76), the operative group: 5.7%(10/176), P=0.035; bone split: the non-operative group: 0%(0/76), the operative group: 1.7%(3/176), P=0.556; elbow stiffness: the non-operative group:1.3%(1/76), the operative group: 0.6%(1/176), P=1.000; shoulder pain: the non-operative group:0%(0/76), the operative group: 5.1%(9/176), P=0.061. The Constant-Murley shoulder score: the non-operative group: 97.37±4.94, the operative group: 96.34±6.88, P=0.244. The Mayo elbow score: the non-operative group: 99.80±1.72, the operative group: 99.49±2.73,P=0.923. CONCLUSION The results of non-operative treatment of humeral shaft fractures appeared with excellent results with lower complications rate compared with that of the operative treatment.

Abstract
Pathogenic <em>Escherichia coli</em> (<em>E. coli</em>) is severely threatening the rabbit industry in China, and the concern over antibiotic-resistant bacteria has given rise to an urgent need for antibiotic alternatives. In this study, a member (ZRP1) of the <em>Myoviridae</em> family was isolated from rabbit faeces using a strain of rabbit atypical enteropathogenic <em>E. coli</em> (ZR1) as host. The one-step growth curve indicated that the latent period was around 25 to 30 min and the burst size was 144±31 plaque-forming unit/cell. The rate of phage-resistant mutation was 7×10–5±4×10–5. When the bacteriophage input at the multiplicity of infection (MOI) was 0.1, 1 or 10, the growth of host <em>E. coli</em> in broth was inhibited for 5 h. A single intravenous injection of ZRP1 at MOI 0.1, 1 or 10 significantly prolonged the survival time of rabbits which simultaneously received a lethal dose of ZR1.

Abstract
Understanding molecular processes that link comorbid traits such as addictions and mental disorders can provide novel therapeutic targets. Neuregulin signaling pathway (NSP) has previously been implicated in schizophrenia, a neurodevelopmental disorder with high comorbidity to smoking. Using a Finnish twin family sample, we have previously detected association between nicotine dependence and ERBB4 (a neuregulin receptor), and linkage for smoking initiation at the ERBB4 locus on 2q33. Further, Neuregulin3 has recently been shown to associate with nicotine withdrawal in a behavioral mouse model. In this study, we scrutinized association and linkage between 15 036 common, low frequency and rare genetic variants in 10 NSP genes and phenotypes encompassing smoking and alcohol use. Using the Finnish twin family sample (N=1998 from 740 families), we detected 66 variants (representing 23 LD blocks) significantly associated (false discovery rate P<0.05) with smoking initiation, nicotine dependence and nicotine withdrawal. We comprehensively annotated the associated variants using expression (eQTL) and methylation quantitative trait loci (meQTL) analyses in a Finnish population sample. Among the 66 variants, we identified 25 eQTLs (in NRG1 and ERBB4), 22 meQTLs (in NRG3, ERBB4 and PSENEN), a missense variant in NRG1 (rs113317778) and a splicing disruption variant in ERBB4 (rs13385826). Majority of the QTLs in blood were replicated in silico using publicly available databases, with additional QTLs observed in brain. In conclusion, our results support the involvement of NSP in smoking behavior but not in alcohol use and abuse, and disclose functional potential for 56 of the 66 associated single-nucleotide polymorphism.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the relationship between the proximal femur geometry and elderly osteoporotic hip fractures. Methods: From May 2015 to December 2015, 137 patients with elderly osteoporotic hip fractures were involved.69 cases were in the fracture group and 68 cases were in the control group.CT scan were performed on all patients and the proximal femur geometry parameters were measured, including the neck width (NW), neck length (NL), neck shaft angle (NSA), femur head diameter (FHD), head height (HH) and Offset.Statistical analysis was performed between two groups. Results: The results of single factor analysis showed that age, sex, NL, FHD, NSA and Offset had significantly differences between two groups (P<0.05). The multiple Logistic regression analysis showed that age, sex, NL and NSA were independent risk factor for the hip fractures. The ROC curve analysis showed that area under curve (AUC) were 0.818, 0.818 and 0.725, respectively. Conclusions: The patients with older age, longer NL and larger NSA might be prone to hip fracture and it was an effective and feasible method to reconstruct and measure the CT data of the proximal femur with Mimics software.

Discovery of novel drug sensitivities in T-PLL by high-throughput ex vivo drug testing and mutation profiling. Leukemia 2017; 32:774-787. Abstract
T-cell prolymphocytic leukemia (T-PLL) is a rare and aggressive neoplasm of mature T-cells with an urgent need for rationally designed therapies to address its notoriously chemo-refractory behavior. The median survival of T-PLL patients is <2 years and clinical trials are difficult to execute. Here we systematically explored the diversity of drug responses in T-PLL patient samples using an ex vivo drug sensitivity and resistance testing platform and correlated the findings with somatic mutations and gene expression profiles. Intriguingly, all T-PLL samples were sensitive to the cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor SNS-032, which overcame stromal-cell-mediated protection and elicited robust p53-activation and apoptosis. Across all patients, the most effective classes of compounds were histone deacetylase, phosphoinositide-3 kinase/AKT/mammalian target of rapamycin, heat-shock protein 90 and BH3-family protein inhibitors as well as p53 activators, indicating previously unexplored, novel targeted approaches for treating T-PLL. Although Janus-activated kinase-signal transducer and activator of transcription factor (JAK-STAT) pathway mutations were common in T-PLL (71% of patients), JAK-STAT inhibitor responses were not directly linked to those or other T-PLL-specific lesions. Overall, we found that genetic markers do not readily translate into novel effective therapeutic vulnerabilities. In conclusion, novel classes of compounds with high efficacy in T-PLL were discovered with the comprehensive ex vivo drug screening platform warranting further studies of synergisms and clinical testing.

Abstract
We report the first dijet transverse momentum asymmetry measurements from Au+Au and pp collisions at RHIC. The two highest-energy back-to-back jets reconstructed from fragments with transverse momenta above 2 GeV/c display a significantly higher momentum imbalance in heavy-ion collisions than in the pp reference. When reexamined with correlated soft particles included, we observe that these dijets then exhibit a unique new feature-momentum balance is restored to that observed in pp for a jet resolution parameter of R=0.4, while rebalancing is not attained with a smaller value of R=0.2.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the characteristics of spectrum and drug resistance of pathogens causing sepsis in patients with severe acute pancreatitis(SAP). Methods: The clinical data of 63 SAP patients with sepsis admitted in Department of Hepatobiliary, People's Liberation Army General Hospital from January 2014 to December 2015 were retrospectively studied. There were 47 males and 16 females, aged from 22 to 73 years, with an average age of (52±11)years. Samples were collected mainly from: (1)pancreatic and peripancreatic necrosis and abdominal drainage; (2)bile; (3) blood or deep venous catheter; (4) sputum and tracheal catheter and thoracic drainage; (5) urine. Strain identification and drug-resistance test were preformed on positive specimens. Results: Of 244 pathogenic isolates, mainly derived from abdominal cavity(36.0%), blood stream (14.0%), central venous catheter(11.8%), necrotic tissue(9.1%) and sputum(8.1%); 154(63.1%) were gram-negative bacteria, 68 cases(27.9%) were gram-positive bacteria and 22 cases(9.0%) were fungi respectively. The top six common pathogens isolated were E. coli(16.0%), E.faecium and faecalis(15.2%), P.aeruginosa(10.7%), K.pneumonia(9.8%), Acinetobacter baumanni(8.2%), Stenotrophomonas maltophilia(5.3%)respectively. The detection rate of E. coli and K. pneumonia extended-spectrum β-lactamases(ESBL) was 84.6%(33/39) and 70.8%(17/24), the resistance rate to imipeniem was 12.8% and 25.0%, to cefperazone-sulbactam was 28.2% and 29.2%. As to P. aeruginosa and Acinetobacter bacillus, the resistance rate to imipeniem was 50.0% and 75.0%, to cefperazone-sulbactam was 42.3% and 70.0%; Stenotrophomonas maltophilia was completely resistant to cefperazone-sulbactam, but sensitive to minocycline, SMZ-TMP with the resistance rate less than 40.0%. Gram-positive bacterium strains mainly included E. faecium(38.2%, 26/68), E.faecalis(16.2%, 11/68) and Staphylococcus(35.3%, 24/68) which maintained high sensitivity to vancomycin, teicoplanin and linezolid, there was only one isolate resistant to vancomycin. Candida were the sole pathogens of fungal infections, sensitive to common antifungal drugs overall. Conclusions: The gram-negative bacteria are the predominant pathogens mainly including ESBL-producing isolates(E.coli and K. pneumonia) and non-fermentation bacteria(P.aeruginosa and Acinetobacter bacillus) causing sepsis in SAP. The infection rate and drug-resistance rate of these two kinds of pathogens are relatively higher.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the distribution differences of Porphyromonas gingivalis(Pg) FimA genotypes between periodontitis patients with and without type 2 diabetes for a better understanding of the relationship between diabetes and periodontitis. METHODS Questionnaires and detailed periodontal examinations(6 sites per tooth) were conducted in 80 subjects with moderate-severe chronic periodontitis in the Department of Periodontology, Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology. There were 40 type 2 diabetic patients and 40 systemicly healthy patients enrolled respectively. The periodontal parameters including plaque index(PLI), probing depth(PD), bleeding index(BI), attachment loss(AL) by 6 sites per tooth and numbers of missing teeth were also recorded. Pooled subgingival plaque samples using pocket method with Whatman No3 filterpaper were collectedat each of the 6 sites from one incisor and one molar. Pg and its FimA genotype distributions were investigated using DNA extrctedfrom plaque samples by PCR. RESULTS Diabetic patients had a significantly higher score of PLI[2.35(0.58) vs 1.64(0.76),P<0.05] , while rest of periodontal indexes observed(PD, BI and AL) did not differ significantly between diabetic patients and systemicly healthy controls(P>0.05). The detection rate of Pg did not show statistically significant difference between the two groups(50% vs 60%,P>0.05). However, the proportion of FimA Ⅱ was significantly higher in diabetic group than systemicly healthy group(80% vs 42%,P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS Type 2 diabetic patients were prone to be infected by highly virulent strains of Pg: FimA ⅡPg.

Abstract
Previous studies have indicated that schizophrenia is linked to abnormal lipid metabolism. Free fatty acids (FFAs) in peripheral blood can reflect the status of lipid metabolism in human body. The purpose of this study was to scan the FFA pattern and elucidate the characteristics of lipid metabolic abnormality in schizophrenia patients. One hundred and ten patients with schizophrenia (SCZs) and 109 healthy controls (HCs) were included in the study and divided into a discovery set and a validation set. Forty-seven serum FFAs were detected by UPLC-QTOF-MS and 39 of them were absolutely quantified by establishing standard curves. Monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs) and ω-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids (ω-6 PUFAs) were significantly increased in SCZs compared with HCs. Desaturation from saturated fatty acids to MUFAs and β-oxidation were enhanced, as estimated by the ratios of products to precursors. These results suggest that lipolysis and β-oxidation are upregulated in SCZ, presumably resulting from insufficient brain energy supply.

Abstract
Abstract
Colorectal carcinoma (CRC) patients show resistance to EGFR-TKI (epidermal growth factor receptor -tyrosine kinase inhibitor) treatment. Protease-activated receptor 2 (PAR2) has been shown to transactivate EGFR. We aim to investigate whether PAR2 sensitizes EGFR-TKI-induced apoptosis in CRC. Firstly, inhibition of PAR2 with shRNA or ENMD-1068 (a selective antagonist of PAR2) significantly sensitized EGFR-TKI (gefitinib or AG1478)-induced apoptosis, which was measured with Annexin V/ PI staining and activation of caspase-3 in different CRC cell lines. In xenograft tumor model, gefitinib treatment dramatically reduced the tumor volume in HT-29-shPAR2 compared with HT-29-vector. Mechanism study showed that PAR2 knockdown significantly reduced bcl-xL expression at both mRNA and protein level. Consistently, activation of PAR2 upregulated bcl-xL. Furthermore, inhibition of protein phosphatase (PP) with okadaic acid significantly downregulated bcl-xL. Moreover, knockdown of PP1 with siRNA blocked PAR2-induced accumulation of bcl-xL. In summary, our findings suggest that inhibition of PAR2 sensitizes EGFR-TKI-induced apoptosis via downregulation of bcl-xL in colorectal cancer. Considering the extensive expression of PAR2 and PAR2-activating proteases in colon, it strongly indicates that inhibition of PAR2 may be a potential avenue to overcome EGFR-TKI resistance in patients with CRC.

Abstract
Objective: To compare the efficacy and safety of Cardi-O-fix patent foramen ovale (PFO) occluder and Amplatzer PFO occluder for the treatment of patients with PFO. Methods: A total of 246 consecutive patients (105 males and 141 females) with PFO were prospectively enrolled from May 30, 2013 to March 30, 2015 in our hospital. PFO interventional closure was applied according to the anatomical structure of the disease and patients' wishes.Cardi-O-fix PFO occluder was used in 180 cases (COF group), Amplatzer PFO occluder was used in the remaining 66 cases (Amp group). Post-procedure safety including recurrent stroke, transient ischemic attack, death, and complete closure rate, and efficacy including procedure related complications of different devices were compared during the 12 months follow-up. Results: (1) Rate of transient ischemic attack was similar between COF group and Amp group at 12 months after procedure(1.1%(2/180) vs. 1.5%(1/66), P=1.000). There was no recurrent stroke and death during the 12 months follow-up period.Complete closure rate was similar between COF group and Amp group at 12 months after the procedure(90.6%(163/180)vs. 86.4%(57/66), P=0.355). (2) Three cases(1.7%) of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation were observed in COF group during the 12 months follow-up period, 1 patient converted spontaneously to sinus rhythm and 2 patients received successful pharmacologic conversion and converted to sinus rhythm. One patient(1.5%)developed paroxysmal atrial fibrillation and was pharmacologically converted to sinus rhythm in the Amp group. There was no significant difference in rate of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation between the two groups(P=1.000). There was no complications such as occluder translocation, erosion, pericardial effusion and puncture site bleeding in the 2 groups during the 12 months follow-up. Conclusion: Efficacy and safety are similar for PFO treatment with Cardi-O-fix PFO occluder or Amplatzer PFO occluder in this patient cohort.

Abstract
Objective: To examine the relationship between recovery experience, occupational stress, and physiological health of nurses in a municipal grade A tertiary hospital. Methods: A total of 296 in-service nurses from 7 municipal grade A tertiary hospitals were selected from October 2015 to February 2016. Individual characteristics of the subjects were collected using a self-made questionnaire. The recovery experience, occupational stress, and physiological health of the subjects were assessed based on the physiological health dimensions in the Chinese version of Recovery Experience Questionnaire (REQ-C) , Job Content Questionnaire (JCQ) , and Quality of Work Life (QWL7-32) . Results: The mean recovery experience score of nurses from the municipal grade A tertiary hospital was 45.04±7.72, and 51.35% of the nurses had satisfactory recovery experience. Occupational stress was identified in 81.76% of the nurses. Based on the four categories of occupational stress, 65 nurses were identified with high-strain jobs (21.95%) , 56 with relaxed (low-strain) jobs (18.92%) , 49 with passive jobs (16.55%) , and 126 with active jobs (42.57%) . In addition, the mean physiological health score of the nurses was 21.20±4.24. Physiological health was negatively correlated with occupational stress (r=-0.173, P<0.05) , but positively correlated with recovery experience (r=0.198, P<0.01) . Recovery experience was negatively correlated with occupational stress (r=-0.116, P<0.05) . Job demand was the major contributor to occupational stress, where subjects with high-demand active jobs had the poorest recovery experience (F=2.610, P<0.05) and physiological health (F=8.166, P<0.01) . Conclusion: Job demand has a great impact on the occupational stress of nurses, where increased job demand can lead to stronger stress response, reduced recovery experience, and poorer physiological health.

Measurement of D^{0} Azimuthal Anisotropy at Midrapidity in Au+Au Collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2017; 118:212301. Abstract
We report the first measurement of the elliptic anisotropy (v_{2}) of the charm meson D^{0} at midrapidity (|y|<1) in Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV. The measurement was conducted by the STAR experiment at RHIC utilizing a new high-resolution silicon tracker. The measured D^{0} v_{2} in 0%-80% centrality Au+Au collisions can be described by a viscous hydrodynamic calculation for a transverse momentum (p_{T}) of less than 4 GeV/c. The D^{0} v_{2} as a function of transverse kinetic energy (m_{T}-m_{0}, where m_{T}=sqrt[p_{T}^{2}+m_{0}^{2}]) is consistent with that of light mesons in 10%-40% centrality Au+Au collisions. These results suggest that charm quarks have achieved local thermal equilibrium with the medium created in such collisions. Several theoretical models, with the temperature-dependent, dimensionless charm spatial diffusion coefficient (2πTD_{s}) in the range of ∼2-12, are able to simultaneously reproduce our D^{0} v_{2} result and our previously published results for the D^{0} nuclear modification factor.

Combined Diffusion Tensor Imaging and Apparent Transverse Relaxation Rate Differentiate Parkinson Disease and Atypical Parkinsonism. AJNR Am J Neuroradiol 2017; 38:966-972. Abstract
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Both diffusion tensor imaging and the apparent transverse relaxation rate have shown promise in differentiating Parkinson disease from atypical parkinsonism (particularly multiple system atrophy and progressive supranuclear palsy). The objective of the study was to assess the ability of DTI, the apparent transverse relaxation rate, and their combination for differentiating Parkinson disease, multiple system atrophy, progressive supranuclear palsy, and controls. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 106 subjects (36 controls, 35 patients with Parkinson disease, 16 with multiple system atrophy, and 19 with progressive supranuclear palsy) were included. DTI and the apparent transverse relaxation rate measures from the striatal, midbrain, limbic, and cerebellar regions were obtained and compared among groups. The discrimination performance of DTI and the apparent transverse relaxation rate among groups was assessed by using Elastic-Net machine learning and receiver operating characteristic curve analysis. RESULTS Compared with controls, patients with Parkinson disease showed significant apparent transverse relaxation rate differences in the red nucleus. Compared to those with Parkinson disease, patients with both multiple system atrophy and progressive supranuclear palsy showed more widespread changes, extending from the midbrain to striatal and cerebellar structures. The pattern of changes, however, was different between the 2 groups. For instance, patients with multiple system atrophy showed decreased fractional anisotropy and an increased apparent transverse relaxation rate in the subthalamic nucleus, whereas patients with progressive supranuclear palsy showed an increased mean diffusivity in the hippocampus. Combined, DTI and the apparent transverse relaxation rate were significantly better than DTI or the apparent transverse relaxation rate alone in separating controls from those with Parkinson disease/multiple system atrophy/progressive supranuclear palsy; controls from those with Parkinson disease; those with Parkinson disease from those with multiple system atrophy/progressive supranuclear palsy; and those with Parkinson disease from those with multiple system atrophy; but not those with Parkinson disease from those with progressive supranuclear palsy, or those with multiple system atrophy from those with progressive supranuclear palsy. CONCLUSIONS DTI and the apparent transverse relaxation rate provide different but complementary information for different parkinsonisms. Combined DTI and apparent transverse relaxation rate may be a superior marker for the differential diagnosis of parkinsonisms.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the malodor level and to explore the effect of mechanical self-cleaning of tongue coating in patients with halitosis originating from tongue coating. METHODS Ten patients with halitosis originating from tongue coating were enrolled and divided into two groups randomly. The patients in test group received instruction of mechanical cleaning of tongue coating while no such instruction was given to control group. Organoleptic test (OLT) score, volatile sulfide compounds (VSC) value, area of tongue coating (Ta), thickness of tongue coating (Tt) and periodontal condition were recorded at baseline and were repeated at the end of 1 week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks and 8 weeks later. The clinical outcomes were compared at different time points between the groups. Also, changes within the group were analyzed. RESULTS As time went by, tongue coating area and thickness tended to decrease in test group while the changes showed no statistically difference (P>0.05). The organoleptic score in test group decreased significantly (P<0.001). Changes of volatile sulfide compounds value within each group had no statistically difference (P>0.05), though they showed a tendency to decrease and fewer changes in control group were found. Compared with the baseline, average probing depth and bleeding index (P<0.05) were significantly lower in both the groups at the end of the test period, while no statistically difference was observed between test group and control group (P>0.05). Plaque index showed no difference at different time points in both the groups (P>0.05). CONCLUSION Mechanical self-cleaning of tongue coating did not influence plaque index while it had tendency to reduce tongue coating area and thickness. Malodor could be released after self-cleaning of tongue coating to a certain extent, indicating necessity and importance of intervention role by dentists.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The aim of this work was to compare salvage liver transplantation (SLT) and primary liver transplantation (PLT) in terms of the harm and benefits. METHODS The authors searched Pubmed, Embase, and the Cochrane Library from their dates of establishment to December 2015. Based on selection and exclusion criteria, 2 researchers screened the literature independently. The meta-analysis was performed with the use of the Review Manager software. Meta-analysis of the pooled standard mean difference (SMD) and odds ratio (OR) with 95% confidence interval (CI) were calculated based on either a fixed-effects or a random-effects model. In addition, risk of bias was assessed with the use of the Newcastle-Ottawa scale. RESULTS Sixteen studies were selected, involving almost 8,707 patients. According to the pooled estimates, compared with PLT, SLT was associated with a longer operative time (SMD, 0.28; 95% CI, 0.11-0.46;), higher intraoperative blood loss (SMD, 0.41; 95% CI, 0.08-0.75;), more postoperative bleeding (OR, 1.95; 95% CI, 1.10-3.45), an increased risk of recurrence (OR, 2.08; 95% CI, 1.24-3.50), and poorer 3-year (OR, 0.86; 95% CI, 0.76-0.98) and 5-year (OR, 0.86; 95% CI, 0.76-0.98) overall survival rates. However, no difference was detected between case and control groups in either rates of postoperative complications or such aspects as perioperative mortality, length of intensive care unit stay, length of hospital stay, and 1-year overall survival rate. CONCLUSIONS The 3-year and 5-year overall survival rates were inferior in SLT, which shows that PLT is a better treatment strategy for transplantable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, considering the severe organ limitation and the feasibility and safety of SLT, it provides a better option for patients with HCC recurrence after curative resection.

Abstract
The placement of metal stents is often used as a palliative treatment for malignant esophageal stenosis. We designed a novel stent that has been used clinically since 2011, and we therefore performed a retrospective study to compare the therapeutic effects of this novel metal stent to a conventional partially covered metal stent in patients with malignant esophageal strictures. The records of 201 consecutive patients who underwent placement of either the conventional partially covered metal stents (Group A, n = 92) or the new metal stents (Group B, n = 109) in the Endoscopy Center of General Hospital of Chengdu Military Command from October 2008 to March 2013 were reviewed. The median dysphagia score significantly improved in both groups 1 week following stent placement (P < 0.001). No significant differences were observed in success rate (P = 0.910) or the complication rate (P = 0.426) between groups. Six months after stent placement, recurrent dysphagia due to stent migration, tissue ingrowth or overgrowth or food obstruction occurred in 45% and 29% of patients in the conventional stent and new stent groups, respectively. The results of this retrospective study indicate that the new modified self-expandable metal stents (SEMS) is at least as safe and effective as the conventional partially covered SEMS in treatment of malignant esophageal strictures.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the incidence and pregnant outcome on vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC). METHODS From January 2005 to December 2015, clinical data of 507 cases with VBAC in West China Second Hospital were studied retrospectively. There were 370 cases of VBAC from January 2013 to December 2015 as study group (VBAC group), in contrast, 740 cases of elective repeat cesarean section (ERCS group) and 740 primiparas of vaginal delivery without history of cesarean section as control groups, the pregnancy outcome were analyzed between the study group and control groups respectively. RESULTS (1) There were 76 547 total births from January 2005 to December 2015. Among these, 10 178 (13.296%, 10 178/76 547) patients had a single prior low transverse cesarean section, of which 4.981% (507/10 178) had VBAC. The incidence of VBAC was rising from 1.020%-3.704% during 2005-2012 to 6.028%-7.662% during 2013-2015. The rate of scared uterus during 2013-2015 was 18.269% (5 539/30 319), of which 9.26% (513/5 539) chose trial of labor after cesarean section (TOLAC). Successful VBAC occurred in 72.12% (370/513) of patients with TOLAC, and 27.88% (143/513) delivered by emergency cesarean. (2) The following parameters of the successful group and the unsuccessful VBAC group were compared, maternal age (29±4) versus (34±4) years, body mass index at prenatal visit (22.2±1.4) versus (22.6±1.4) kg/m(2), gestational age (38.7±0.9) versus (39.6±1.3) weeks, birth weight (3 326±317) versus (3 404±285) g, and the rate of induction of labor 0 (0/370) and 6.29% (9/143), there were significant differences (all P<0.01). There was no statistical difference between two group for lower uterine segment (P=0.947). (3) The duration of labor of VBAC group and 740 primiparas of vaginal delivery without history of cesarean section was compared, (10.3±1.8) versus (11.5±2.0) hours, there was significant difference (P<0.01). There were no statistical difference between two groups for the following parameters, including postpartum hemorrhage, hospitalization duration, the ratio of 5-minute Apgar score≥8, neonatal admission rate (all P>0.05). (4) The postpartum hemorrhage and hospitalization duration in VBAC group incidence were respectively (194±34) ml and (2.32±0.49) days, and the indexes of the ERCS group were respectively (419±57) ml and (4.14±0.78) days, there were significant differences (all P<0.01). There were no statistical difference between two groups for the ratio of 5-minute Apgar score≥8 and neonatal admission rate (all P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS The majority of patients choose ERCS rather than TOLAC. It's important to assess the indications and contraindications of patients for the successful VBAC, and to monitor maternal and fetal conditions during the delivery process. The premise of TOLAC is a comprehensive understanding of closely monitoring the progress of delivery. Compared with the ERCS, VBAC could reduce patients' postpartum hemorrhage and hospitalization duration, improve the outcomes of pregnancy, and the cesarean section rate could be reduced.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To analyze the efficacy of highly active antiretroviral therapy(HAART)for HIV/AIDS in Zhejiang province from 2009 to 2014. METHODS A retrospective cohort study was conducted among patients with access to HAART aged <15 years from 2009 to 2014 through descriptive epidemiological analysis on the patients' demographic characteristics, HAART efficacy. The immune recovery Kaplan-Meier curves were drawn by using baseline CD(4) T lymphocytes cell(CD(4))data. The influencing factors for virus suppression were analyzed by using logistic regression model. RESULTS There were 9 594 patients with access to HAART in Zhejiang from 2009 to 2014. The' average age of the patients was 38.7 years old, the male to female ratio was 4.11∶1. Heterosexual(55.9%)and homosexual(40.0%)contacts were the main transmission routes. Baseline CD(4) count 200-349 cells/μl was found in 45.4% of the patients, the median of the CD(4) count was 221(IQR: 123-298). The median of time for CD(4) recovery in patients with baseline CD(4) count <200 cells/μl was 3.48 and 11.58 times higher than the patients with baseline CD(4) count 200-349 cells/μl and baseline CD(4) count ≥350 cells/μl. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses showed that marital status, HAART regimen, treatment miss in last week and CD(4) recovery were major influencing factors for HAART efficacy. CONCLUSIONS HAART had good treatment effecacy in HIV/AIDS patients in Zhejiang. The baseline CD(4) count and adherence to HAART were the most important influencing factors. It is recommended to take measures to expand HIV screening and HAART coverage, conduct HAART adherence education, and strengthen the special care for high-risk groups to improve the HAART efficacy in Zhejiang province.

Abstract
We present the first measurement of charge-dependent directed flow in Cu+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV. The results are presented as a function of the particle transverse momentum and pseudorapidity for different centralities. A finite difference between the directed flow of positive and negative charged particles is observed that qualitatively agrees with the expectations from the effects of the initial strong electric field between two colliding ions with different nuclear charges. The measured difference in directed flow is much smaller than that obtained from the parton-hadron-string-dynamics model, which suggests that most of the electric charges, i.e., quarks and antiquarks, have not yet been created during the lifetime of the strong electric field, which is of the order of, or less than, 1 fm/c.

Abstract
Objective: To compare the clinicopathological features and prognosis of pancreatic cystic neoplasms (PCN) between male and female patients. Methods: A total of 325 patients with histological confirmed PCN from January 2010 to October 2015 were enrolled. The clinicopathological features, laboratory examination, imaging features, treatment and prognosis were analyzed. Results: Of the 325 patients diagnosed as PCN, 104 were male and 221 were female. The average age of male patients was significantly higher than that of female patients (55.0±12.7 vs 47.9±13.4 years, P<0.001), however, the average tumor size of male patients was smaller than that of female patients (3.9±2.7 vs 4.9±3.0 cm, P=0.004). The location of PCN in male patients was predominantly located at pancreatic head and neck, and majority of male patients were mucinous cystic neoplasms. 1-year, 3-year and 5-year survival rates of patients with PCN were 98.5%, 92.6%, and 87.5%, respectively. 1-year, 3-year and 5-year survival rates of male patients were 97.8%, 84.9%, and 77.8%, however, those of female patients were 98.8%, 96.5%, and 92.2%, respectively. Female patients had better prognosis than male patients (χ2=5.543, P=0.019). Elevated CA19-9 (χ2=3.843, P=0.050), perineuronal invasion (χ2=6.250, P=0.012) and lymph node metastasis (χ2=4.529, P=0.033) were important prognostic factors for malignant mucinous cystic neoplasm. Conclusions: Male patients had low incidence of PCN, and were more common for mucinous cystic neoplasm. The long-term outcome of malignant PCN was poor. Even with complete resection, male patients still had worse prognosis. Close follow-up is recommended especially for male patients.

Abstract
Objective: To assess the association between the concentration of the air pollutant PM2.5 and daily outpatient visits for respiratory disease. Methods: All records of daily outpatient visits to three hospitals in Shenzhen from January 1 to December 31, 2013 were collected. Daily air pollution monitoring and meteorology data from the same period were also collected in Shenzhen. The data were analyzed using a semiparametric generalized additive model with Poisson distribution of time series analysis controlling for long-term and seasonal trends, flu, DOW, public holidays, and meteorological factors. The excess risk(ER)of respiratory disease and its 95% CI value were calculated, along with the incremental increase of 10 μg/m3 in PM2.5 concentration. Results: Number of outpatient visits for respiratory diseases totaled 1 428 672(daily range: 1 790-5 228). The annual average PM2.5 concentration was 40.2 μg/m3(daily range: 7.2-137.1 μg/m3). The lag1 factor had the most significant impact on the lag effect. We estimated that a 10 μ g/m3 increase in day-before PM2.5 concentration was associated with a 1.809%(95% CI: 1.709%-1.909%)ER of visits for respiratory disease. After controlling for other pollutants(NO2, CO, and O3), the effect remained stable. When NO2, CO, and O3 were introduced separately, for every 10 μg/m3 rise in PM2.5 concentration, the excess risk of daily outpatient visits for respiratory disease was 1.814%(95% CI: 1.706%-1.923%), 2.780%(95% CI: 2.668%-2.892%), and 1.513%(95% CI: 1.403%-1.624%), respectively. With simultaneous control of NO2 and O3, NO2 and CO, and CO and O3, for every 10 μg/m3 rise in PM2.5 concentration, the excess risk of respiratory disease was 1.369%(95% CI: 1.242%-1.497%), 2.709%(95% CI: 2.590%-2.828%), and 2.577%(95% CI: 2.452%-2.702%), respectively. With simultaneous control of NO2, CO, and O3, for every 10 μg/m3 rise in PM2.5 concentration, the excess risk of respiratory disease was 2.370%(95% CI: 2.231%-2.509%). Conclusions: PM2.5 can increase the risk of outpatient visits for respiratory disease in Shenzhen.

Collaborative contribution of six cytochrome P450 monooxygenase genes to fenpropathrin resistance in Tetranychus cinnabarinus (Boisduval). INSECT MOLECULAR BIOLOGY 2016; 25:653-665. Abstract
Cytochrome P450 monooxygenases (P450s), as an important family of detoxification enzymes, participate in the metabolism of agrochemicals in almost all agricultural pests and play important roles in the development of insecticide resistance. Two P450 genes (CYP389B1 and CYP392A26) were identified and their expression patterns were investigated in our previous study. In this study, four more P450 gene sequences (CYP391A1, CYP384A1, CYP392D11 and CYP392A28) from the Clan 2, Clan 3 and Clan 4 families were identified and characterized. Quantitative PCR analysis showed that these four P450 genes were highly expressed in a fenpropathrin-resistant (FeR) strain of Tetranychus cinnabarinus. In addition, their expressions were much more sensitive to fenpropathrin induction in the FeR strain than the susceptible strain. Gene-silencing experiments via double-stranded RNA feeding were carried out. The results showed that mRNA levels of these six P450 genes were reduced in the FeR strain and the activities of P450s were decreased. Consequently mite susceptibilities to fenpropathrin were increased. Interestingly, silencing all six P450 genes simultaneously had an even greater effect on resistance than silencing them individually. This study increases our understanding of the molecular mechanisms of insecticide detoxification, suggesting that the overexpression of these six P450 genes might play important roles in fenpropathrin resistance in T. cinnabarinus collaboratively.

Parity and mortality in cases of childhood-onset diabetes mellitus. Diabetes Metab Res Rev 2016; 32:607-14. Abstract
AIMS This study aims to assess the association between parity and mortality in adults with childhood-onset type 1 diabetes (T1D) and their matched controls. METHODS Individual data (308 617 person-years) on mortality and the reproductive histories of a Finnish cohort of 2307 women and 2819 men with T1D, each with two matched controls, were obtained from the National Population Register. All persons with diabetes had been diagnosed with T1D in 1965-1979 at the age of 17 or under. RESULTS All-cause mortality in people without offspring was significantly higher than that in people with children among both people with diabetes and non-diabetic control persons in both sexes (all p-values <0.01). In men with offspring, the decrease of mortality rate compared with men without offspring was less marked among those with diabetes (9% reduction in mortality hazard ratio (HR) with one offspring, 47% with two) than among those without diabetes (33% HR (p = 0.025) and 61% HR (p = 0.023) reduction, respectively). In women with offspring, the association between parity and mortality was independent of diabetes status. Having at least two offspring was associated with a decreased hazard of diabetes-related death regardless of sex; among women with diabetes, even having one offspring was associated with a decreased hazard of dying from diabetes (HR = 0.46; 95% CI 0.31, 0.69). CONCLUSIONS The association between parity and mortality follows different patterns in men and women with T1D. To what extent this reflects effects of health on family planning decisions in people with T1D cannot be defined without further studies. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
