Abstract
The immigration of microbial communities in a synergistic partial denitrification/anammox (SPDA) system was investigated in a moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR) inoculated with partial denitrification (PD) and anaerobic ammonium oxidation (anammox) biofilms. The SPDA system was operated at 25 ± 1 °C over 260 days. The total nitrogen (TN) of the effluent was only 3.71 ± 0.92 mg·L-1 in the stable phase with a TN removal efficiency of 95.23%. The anammox process was the dominant nitrogen removal pathway with an average contribution of 74.31% to TN removal. The results of the in situ activity and key enzymatic activity revealed that the nitrate-reducing bacteria tended to immigrate to anammox biofilms. Correspondingly, the abundance of the genus Thauera, the second most dominant bacteria in anammox biofilms, quickly increased from 0.78 to 10.69% on day 50 and eventually to 16.45% on day 221 according to the Illumina MiSeq sequencing data. The microbial immigration might be caused by different extracellular polymeric substance (EPS)-mediated mechanisms in PD and anammox biofilms. For fast-growing denitrifiers, PD biofilms tend to increase the ability of mass transfer by excreting more polysaccharides to form loosely-bound EPS at the expense of the ability to harbor the nitrate-reducing bacteria. However, for the slow-growing anaerobic ammonium oxidizing bacteria (AnAOB), the anammox biofilms tend to increase the retention of AnAOB by excreting more proteins to form enhanced tightly-bound EPS at the expense of the mass transfer ability, thereby causing the detached nitrate-reducing bacteria to immigrate into anammox biofilms.

Abstract
Honeybees (Apis mellifera) are indispensable pollinators in agricultural production, biodiversity conservation, and nutrients provision. The abundance and diversity of honeybees have been rapidly diminishing, possibly related to the extensive use of insecticides in ecosystems. Sulfoxaflor is a novel sulfoximine insecticide that, like neonicotinoids, acts as a competitive modulator of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChR) in insects. However, few studies have addressed the negative effects of sulfoxaflor on honeybees at environmentally relevant concentrations. In the present study, adult workers were fed a 50% (w/v) of sugar solution containing different concentrations (0, 0.05, 0.5 and 2.0 mg/L) of sulfoxaflor for two weeks consecutively. The survival rates, food intake, and body weight of the honeybees significantly decreased after continuous exposure at higher doses (0.5 and 2.0 mg/L) of sulfoxaflor when compared with the control. The change in the metabolites in the honeybee gut was determined using high-throughput non-targeted metabolomics on day 14 after sulfoxaflor treatment. The results revealed that 24 and 105 metabolites changed after exposure to 0.5 and 2.0 mg/L sulfoxaflor, respectively, compared with that of the control groups. A total of 12 changed compounds including pregenolone and glutathione were detected as potential biomarkers, which were eventually found to be enriched in pathways of the steroid hormone biosynthesis (p = 0.0001) and glutathione metabolism (p = 0.021). These findings provide a new perspective on the physiological influence of sulfoxaflor stress in honeybees.

Abstract
A thorough characterization of base materials is the prerequisite for further research. In this paper, the characterization data of the reference materials (CEM I 42.5 R, limestone powder, calcined clay and a mixture of these three components) used in the second funding phase of the priority program 2005 of the German Research Foundation (DFG SPP 2005) are presented under the aspects of chemical and mineralogical composition as well as physical and chemical properties. The data were collected based on tests performed by up to eleven research groups involved in this cooperative program.

Abstract
Background To explore the evaluation value of systemic immune inflammation index (SII) in the prognosis of patients with alveolar hydatid disease, and establish a nomogram prediction model. Methods Collect the clinical data of 351 patients undergoing hepatic alveolar hydatid surgery admitted to the Department of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery, Affiliated Hospital of Qinghai University from January 2015 to December 2020, calculate the SII value, and use the receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC curve) to determine According to the optimal clinical cut-off value of SII, patients were divided into two groups with high SII and low SII, and the relationship between SII and clinicopathological factors and prognosis of patients with alveolar echinococcosis was analyzed. Establish a nomogram prediction model based on independent risk factors for patient prognosis, and evaluate the prediction accuracy and discrimination ability of the nomogram through the consistency index (C-index) and calibration curve. The result is through the use of bootstrapping validation with 1,000 re-sampling Method for internal verification. Results The ROC curve was used to determine the optimal cut-off value of SII before operation 761.192, and patients were divided into low SII group (n = 184) cases and high SII group (n = 167) cases. The 1, 3, and 5-year survival rates of patients with hepatic alveolar hydatid in the low SII group and the high SII group were 98.90%, 96.90%, 86.50% and 98.20%, 72.50%, 40.30%, respectively. The survival rate of worm disease patients was significantly better than that of the high SII group, and the overall survival rate difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P < 0.001). Multivariate Cox regression model analysis results showed that intraoperative blood loss (HR = 1.810, 95%CI: 1.227-2.668, P = 0.003), SII (HR = 5.011, 95%CI: 3.052-8.228, P < 0.001), Complications (HR = 1.720, 95%CI: 1.162-2.545, P = 0.007) are independent risk factors for the prognosis of patients with alveolar hydatid disease. Draw a nomogram and include statistically significant factors in the multivariate Cox regression model to predict the overall survival rate of patients with alveolar hydatid disease at 1, 3, and 5 years. The survival probability calibration curve is displayed. The nomogram is compared with The actual results have a high degree of agreement. The concordance index (C-index) of the nomogram model in the modeling sample is 0.777, and the C-index in the verification sample is 0.797, indicating that the nomogram model of this study has good accuracy and discrimination. Conclusions SII has a clear correlation to the prognosis of patients with alveolar echinococcosis. The nomogram prediction model constructed on this basis is beneficial to the clinically individualized analysis of the patient's prognosis.

Abstract
Glioma is the most common tumor of the central nervous system (CNS). Drug resistance, and lack of effective treatment methods make the treatment effect of glioma patients unsatisfactory. The recent discovery of cuproptosis has led to new thinking about the therapeutic and prognostic targets of glioma. The transcripts and clinical data of glioma samples were obtained from The cancer genome atlas (TCGA). The cuproptosis-related lncRNA (CRL)-based glioma prognostic models were built through least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression analysis in the train set and validated in the test set. Kaplan-Meier survival curve, risk curve analysis, and time-dependent receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve were used to assess the predictive ability and risk differentiation ability of the models. Univariate and multivariate COX regression analyses were conducted on the models and various clinical features, and then nomograms were constructed to verify their predictive efficacy and accuracy. Finally, we explored potential associations of the models with immune function, drug sensitivity, and the tumor mutational burden of glioma. Four CRLs were selected from the training set of 255 LGG samples and the other four CRLs were selected from the training set of 79 GBM samples to construct the models. Follow-up analysis showed that the models have commendable prognostic value and accuracy for glioma. Notably, the models were also associated with the immune function, drug sensitivity, and tumor mutational burden of gliomas. Our study showed that CRLs were prognostic biomarkers of glioma, closely related to glioma immune function. CRLs may affect uniquely the sensitivity of glioma treatment. It will be a potential therapeutic target for glioma. CRLs will offer new perspectives on the prognosis and therapy of gliomas.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The association between dietary thiamine intake and the risk of diabetes remains unknown. AIM We aimed to evaluate the relation of dietary thiamine intake with new-onset diabetes and examine possible effect modifiers. DESIGN Prospective cohort study. METHODS A total of 16 272 participants who were free of diabetes at baseline were enrolled from China Health and Nutrition Survey (CHNS). Dietary nutrients intake information was collected by 3-day dietary recalls in addition to using a 3-day food-weighed method to assess cooking oil and condiment consumption. New-onset diabetes was defined as a fasting blood glucose ≥7.0 mmol/l or a glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) ≥6.5% (48 mmol/mol) or diagnosed by a physician during the follow-up. RESULTS During a median follow-up duration of 9.0 years, new-onset diabetes occurred in 1101 participants. Overall, the association between dietary thiamine intake and new-onset diabetes followed a U-shape (P for non-linearity <0.001). Consistently, when thiamine intake was assessed as quartiles, compared with those in the 2-3 quartiles (0.75 to 1.10 mg/day), the significantly higher risks of new-onset diabetes were found in participants in the first quartile [adjusted hazard ratio (HR), 1.33; 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.10, 1.61] and the fourth quartile (adjusted HR, 1.39; 95% CI: 1.17, 1.67). Similar results were found when further adjusting for the intake of other major nutrients or food groups; or using the propensity score weighting to control the imbalance of covariates. CONCLUSION Our results suggested that there was a U-shape association between dietary thiamine intake and new-onset diabetes in general Chinese adults, with a minimal risk at 0.75-1.10 mg/day.

Abstract
In the process of bridge management, large amounts of domain information are accumulated, such as basic attributes, structural defects, technical conditions, etc. However, the valuable information is not fully utilized, resulting in insufficient knowledge service in the field of bridge management. To tackle these problems, this paper proposes a complex knowledge base question answering (C-KBQA) framework for intelligent bridge management based on multi-task learning (MTL) and cross-task constraints (CTC). First, with C-KBQA as the main task, part-of-speech (POS) tagging, topic entity extraction (TEE), and question classification (QC) as auxiliary tasks, an MTL framework is built by sharing encoders and parameters, thereby effectively avoiding the error propagation problem of the pipeline model. Second, cross-task semantic constraints are provided for different subtasks via POS embeddings, entity embeddings, and question-type embeddings. Finally, using template matching, relevant query statements are generated and interaction with the knowledge base is established. The experimental results show that the proposed model outperforms compared mainstream models in terms of TEE and QC on bridge management datasets, and its performance in C-KBQA is outstanding.

Abstract
β decay of proton-rich nuclei plays an important role in exploring isospin mixing. The β decay of ^{26}P at the proton drip line is studied using double-sided silicon strip detectors operating in conjunction with high-purity germanium detectors. The T=2 isobaric analog state (IAS) at 13 055 keV and two new high-lying states at 13 380 and 11 912 keV in ^{26}Si are unambiguously identified through β-delayed two-proton emission (β2p). Angular correlations of two protons emitted from ^{26}Si excited states populated by ^{26}P β decay are measured, which suggests that the two protons are emitted mainly sequentially. We report the first observation of a strongly isospin-mixed doublet that deexcites mainly via two-proton decay. The isospin mixing matrix element between the ^{26}Si IAS and the nearby 13 380-keV state is determined to be 130(21) keV, and this result represents the strongest mixing, highest excitation energy, and largest level spacing of a doublet ever observed in β-decay experiments.

Abstract
AIMS To use pre-treatment magnetic resonance imaging-based radiomics data with clinical data to predict radiation-induced temporal lobe injury (RTLI) in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) patients with stage T4/N0-3/M0 within 5 years after radiotherapy. MATERIALS AND METHODS This study retrospectively examined 98 patients (198 temporal lobes) with stage T4/N0-3/M0 NPC. Participants were enrolled into a training cohort or a validation cohort in a ratio of 7:3. Radiomics features were extracted from pre-treatment magnetic resonance imaging that were T1-and T2-weighted. Spearman rank correlation, the t-test and the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) algorithm were used to select significant radiomics features; machine-learning models were used to generate radiomics signatures (Rad-Scores). Rad-Scores and clinical factors were integrated into a nomogram for prediction of RTLI. Nomogram discrimination was evaluated using receiver operating characteristic analysis and clinical benefits were evaluated using decision curve analysis. RESULTS Participants were enrolled into a training cohort (n = 139) or a validation cohort (n = 59). In total, 3568 radiomics features were initially extracted from T1-and T2-weighted images. Age, Dmax, D1cc and 16 stable radiomics features (six from T1-weighted and 10 from T2-weighted images) were identified as independent predictive factors. A greater Rad-Score was associated with a greater risk of RTLI. The nomogram showed good discrimination, with a C-index of 0.85 (95% confidence interval 0.79-0.92) in the training cohort and 0.82 (95% confidence interval 0.71-0.92) in the validation cohort. CONCLUSION We developed models for the prediction of RTLI in patients with stage T4/N0-3/M0 NPC using pre-treatment radiomics data and clinical data. Nomograms from these pre-treatment data improved the prediction of RTLI. These results may allow the selection of patients for earlier clinical interventions.

Abstract
Identifying symptom-specific convergent mechanisms for neurodevelopmental disorders is a promising strategy in advancing therapies. Here, we show that bidirectional dysregulation of Rac1 activity in the medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) dictates shared social deficits in mice. Selective upregulation or downregulation of Rac1 activity in glutamatergic or fast-spiking GABAergic neurons results in excessive or inadequate control of excitability combined with a decrease in glutamate or an increase in GABA concentrations and an increase in the GABA/glutamate ratio, which is responsible for social deficits. Notably, the autism model of Shank3B knockout mice exhibits aberrantly enhanced Rac1 activity, reduced glutamate concentrations, and pyramidal neuron excitability in mPFC accompanied with social deficits, which were corrected by either excitatory-neuron-specific downregulation of Rac1 activity or upregulation of neuronal excitability. Thus, this work shows a convergence between genetic autism risk factors, dysregulation of Rac1 signaling, and excitation-inhibition imbalance, enabling mechanism-based stratification of patients with social deficits.

Abstract
The Aphis gossypii is an important pest that can damage cotton plants and can cause a huge economic loss worldwide. Chemical control is a main method to manage this pest, but the cotton aphid resistance to insecticides has become a severe problem in the management of the cotton aphid. It is important to introduce a novel insecticide for rotational application with other insecticides. Broflanilide, as a meta-diamide insecticide with a special mode of action, showed high efficiency against lepidopterous larvae. However, we found that broflanilide possessed high insecticidal activity against the sap-sucking pest A. gossypii. The susceptibility of A. gossypii to broflanilide from 20 field populations in main cotton planting areas of China in 2021 was determined by the leaf-dipping method. LC50 values of broflanilide to A. gossypii ranged from 0.20 μg mL-1 to 1.48 μg mL-1. The susceptible baseline of A. gossypii to broflanilide was established with the LC50 value of 0.41 μg mL-1 and might be used to calculate the resistance ratio (RR) of cotton aphid population in broflanilide resistance monitoring. The RR value of field populations in China was from 0.49 to 3.61 in 2021. It suggested that the broflanilide may be a potential agent in the resistance management of A. gossypii to insecticides. These results are significantly useful for the rational chemical control of cotton aphids.

Abstract
Objective Studies have shown that gingival crevices may be a significant route for SARS-CoV-2 entry. However, the role of oral health in the acquisition and severity of COVID-19 is not known. Design A retrospective analysis was performed using electronic health record data from a large urban academic medical center between 12/1/2019 and 8/24/2020. A total of 387 COVID-19 positive cases were identified and matched 1:1 by age, sex, and race to 387 controls without COVID-19 diagnoses. Demographics, number of missing teeth and alveolar crestal height were determined from radiographs and medical/dental charts. In a subgroup of 107 cases and controls, we also examined the rate of change in alveolar crestal height. A conditional logistic regression model was utilized to assess association between alveolar crestal height and missing teeth with COVID-19 status and with hospitalization status among COVID-19 cases. Results Increased alveolar bone loss, OR = 4.302 (2.510 - 7.376), fewer missing teeth, OR = 0.897 (0.835-0.965) and lack of smoking history distinguished COVID-19 cases from controls. After adjusting for time between examinations, cases with COVID-19 had greater alveolar bone loss compared to controls (0.641 ± 0.613 mm vs 0.260 ± 0.631 mm, p < 0.01.) Among cases with COVID-19, increased number of missing teeth OR = 2.1871 (1.146- 4.174) was significantly associated with hospitalization. Conclusions Alveolar bone loss and missing teeth are positively associated with the acquisition and severity of COVID-19 disease, respectively.

Abstract
A lack of comprehensive mapping of ganglionic inputs into the pancreas and of technology for the modulation of the activity of specific pancreatic nerves has hindered the study of how they regulate metabolic processes. Here we show that the pancreas-innervating neurons in sympathetic, parasympathetic and sensory ganglia can be mapped in detail by using tissue clearing and retrograde tracing (the tracing of neural connections from the synapse to the cell body), and that genetic payloads can be delivered via intrapancreatic injection to target sites in efferent pancreatic nerves in live mice through optimized adeno-associated viruses and neural-tissue-specific promoters. We also show that, in male mice, the targeted activation of parasympathetic cholinergic intrapancreatic ganglia and neurons doubled plasma-insulin levels and improved glucose tolerance, and that tolerance was impaired by stimulating pancreas-projecting sympathetic neurons. The ability to map the peripheral ganglia innervating the pancreas and to deliver transgenes to specific pancreas-projecting neurons will facilitate the examination of ganglionic inputs and the study of the roles of pancreatic efferent innervation in glucose metabolism.
