Abstract
Ti-6Al-4V alloys were anodized in a solution containing 0.15 M HF and 2 M H₃PO₄ for 30 min under different voltages and then coated with hydroxyapatite (HA) by hydrothermal-electrochemical deposition. The effects of anodizing voltage on the morphology and bioactivity of the HA coating and on the bonding strength between the HA coating and the anodized substrates were investigated. Results indicated that highly ordered amorphous TiO₂ nanotube arrays formed on the Ti-6Al-4V surface after anodic oxidation. The pore size of the nanotube increased up to approximately 100 nm with increasing anodic voltage until 25 V. The nanotube was damaged at anodic voltages above 25 V. The crystal structure of TiO₂ changed from amorphous to anatase when the anodized substrates were heated at 450 °C for 3 h. The contact angle between the Ti-6Al-4V surfaces and the simulated body fluid evidently decreased after anodic oxidation. The roughness increased with increasing anodic voltage, and Ra reached about 0.56 μm under 25 V. The HA coating exhibited layered growth. The deposition of rod-like HA crystals as well as the crystallinity of the HA coating initially increased and then decreased with the further increase of the anodic volatage. The degree of crystallinity reached the maximum of approximately 73% at 25 V. The bonding strength between the coating and the anodized substrates increased and then slightly decreased with increasing voltage. The bonding strength was about 20.0 MPa when titanium substrate was anodized under 25 V. The results of simulated body fluid immersing experiments suggest that the HA coating exhibits promising bioactivity.

Abstract
Objective: Previous cross-sectional studies suggested that elevated levels of total cholesterol content of erythrocyte membrane (CEM) could significantly increase the risk of acute coronary syndrome (ACS). The purpose of the present study was to assess the predictive value of baseline CEM levels for the risk of clinical endpoint events in patients with ACS through prospective follow-up studies. Methods: This study is a prospective follow-up study, which consisted of 859 patients with first ACS (698 patients with unstable angina pectoris and 161 patients with acute myocardial infarction), diagnosed and hospitalized in the First and Second Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University. The routine blood lipid levels and CEM were measured. Patients were divided into two groups according to the median of baseline CEM: CEM≤131.56 μg/mg group (n=430) and CEM>131.56 μg/mg group (n=429). Patients were followed up at 6 months interval. The clinical endpoints were nonfatal myocardial infarction, nonfatal stroke, all-cause mortality, all-cause mortality, heart failure requiring hospitalization, and coronary artery revascularization. Kaplan-Meier curve analysis and Cox proportional hazard model were used to analyze the impact of elevated CEM on the occurrence of clinical end-point events. HR values and 95%CI of each variable were obtained. Cox regression analysis of all-cause mortality was performed according to whether patients had risk factors for coronary heart disease (hypertension, diabetes, smoking and elevated LDL-C) and whether they were treated with PCI. Results: The follow-up time was 1 640 (1 380, 2 189) days. Cox analysis after adjustment showed that an elevated baseline of CEM (>131.56 μg/mg) was associated with an increased risk of all-cause mortality (HR=1.690, 95%CI 1.041-2.742, P=0.034), but had no significant predictive effect on the other clinical endpoints. Subgroup analysis showed that elevated baseline CEM levels in ACS patients with LDL-C>1.8 mmol/L (HR=1.687, 95%CI 1.026-2.774, P=0.039), receiving in-hospital PCI (HR=2.365, 95%CI 1.054-5.307, P=0.037), or male (HR=1.794, 95%CI 1.010-3.186, P=0.046) were associated with an increased risk of all-cause mortality. Conclusion: The results showed that elevated CEM levels can increase the risk of all-cause mortality in ACS patients.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To compare robot-assisted surgery and conventional laparoscopy for gynecologic oncology regarding intra- and post-operative outcomes. METHODS A retrospective study was performed on consecutive patients with gynecologic oncology from February 2014 to October 2017 at Gansu Provincial Hospital, China. Multivariable linear and logistic regression models were performed to explore the difference between two surgeries in the surgical outcomes after adjusting for potential confounders. RESULTS 276 women were included in this study: 153 robot-assisted surgeries and 123 conventional laparoscopies. The multivariable linear regression model showed that robot-assisted surgery was longer operative time [coefficient (coef), 33.76; 95% CI, 12.47, 55.05; P = 0.002) ], higher lymph node yield (coef, 10.41; 95% CI, 7.47, 13.35; P < 0.001), shorter time to early post-operative feeding (coef, -1.09; 95% CI, -1.33, -0.84; P < 0.001) and less post-operative drainage volume (coef, -368.77; 95% CI, -542.46, -195.09; P < 0.001) than conventional laparoscopy. However, no difference was observed between the two surgeries regarding the estimated blood loss (P > 0.05). The multivariable logistic regression model showed that post-operative complications were similar between robot-assisted surgery and conventional laparoscopy (P > 0.05). CONCLUSION Robot-assisted surgery was superior to conventional laparoscopy regarding intra- and post-operative outcomes for gynecologic oncology.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the characteristics of postural blood pressure changes in elderly inpatients and the related factors of orthostatic hypotension (OH). Methods: This study was a clinical case control study. Two hundred and sixty-six elderly patients (≥60 years old), who were hospitalized between April 2016 and November 2017 in Geriatric Department of Peking University First Hospital, were included. They were divided into direct standing group and indirect standing group. Direct standing group involved 102 patients, they changed posture from supine directly to standing position, and the blood pressures at the moments of supine, immediately after standing and the first, second, and third minute after standing were recorded by continuous noninvasive arterial pressure (CNAP) system. Indirect standing group involved 164 patients, and they changed posture from supine to sitting for 3 minutes, and then changed to standing position. Blood pressures at the moments of supine, immediately after sitting, the third minute after sitting, immediately after standing and the third minute after standing was recorded by CNAP. Blood pressure changes after different postural changes mode and the rates of OH were compared. The related factors of OH was analyzed by binary logistic regression analysis. Results: The lowest systolic blood pressures (SBP) mostly occurred immediately after postural change: immediately after standing for direct standing group (86.3%(88/102)), and immediately after sitting for indirect standing group (59.1%(97/164)). The lowest diastolic blood pressures (DBP) mostly occurred immediately after standing in the two groups: 87.3%(89/102) for direct standing group and 43.3% (71/164) for indirect standing group. The maximum SBP drop (SBP of supine minus the lowest SBP during postural changes) of direct standing group was significantly higher than indirect standing group (median 20.5(14.0, 29.3) vs. 18.0(11.0, 26.0) mmHg (1 mmHg=0.133 kPa, P<0.05). The rates of OH occurred immediately and within 3 minutes from supine to standing position were significantly higher in direct standing group than in indirect standing group (65.7% (67/102) vs. 43.9% (72/164), and 70.6% (72/102) vs. 49.4% (81/164), both P<0.05). Binary logistic regression analysis showed that brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity was positively associated with OH after a transition from supine to standing position (immediately and within 3 minutes, OR=1.002 (95%CI 1.000-1.004), 1.003 (95%CI 1.001-1.006), P=0.014, 0.006) in direct standing group. Conclusions: OH is common in elderly hospitalized patients. The most obvious blood pressure changes are likely to occur immediately after position changes. Adding a sitting position during the transition of supine to standing position may decrease the amplitude of SBP drop. Brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity is associated with OH after the transition from the supine to standing position in the elderly inpatients.

Abstract
Di- n-butyl phthalate (DBP) is a prevalent pollutant in agricultural soils due to use of plastic film. This study focused on sorption mechanism, kinetics, and isotherms of DBP to six paddy soil particle-size fractions (i.e., coarse sand, fine sand, coarse silt, fine silt, clay, and humic acid fractions). DBP sorption involved in both boundary layer diffusion and intraparticle diffusion, following pseudo-second-order kinetics. DBP sorption was a spontaneous physical process, which fit the Freundlich model. Hydrophobic and ionic interaction relevant to the organic matter content, cation exchange capacity, surface area, and pore volume of soil fractions played key roles in DBP sorption. DBP was strongly adsorbed to humic acid and the sorption was reversely associated with soil particle sizes. DBP may exhibit higher mobility and bioavailability in a soil-crop system at lower temperature (15 °C), due to the lower log Koc values.

Abstract
BACKGROUND 18F-FDG PET/CT metabolic characteristics provide the crucial biologic and molecular information for tumors. To explore the relationships between 18F-FDG PET/CT derived parameters such as maximum standardized uptake value (SUV<inf>max</inf>), metabolic tumor volume (MTV), total lesion glycolysis (TLG) of primary tumor and clinical stage in different histopathologic subtypes of lung cancer. METHODS A total of 97 newly diagnosed lung cancer patients (69 males, 28 females; average age 65.1 years) with pathologically proven were retrospectively analyzed, who had undergone 18F-FDG PET/CT scan before treatment from September 2016 to November 2017. SUV<inf>max</inf>, MTV and TLG of primary tumor were measured. Clinical stage was mainly determined by 18F-FDG PET/CT, in conjunction with conventional imaging and endoscopic biopsy. Mann-Whitney U test, χ2 test, Spearman correlation test and ROC curve analysis were used for statistical analysis. RESULTS There were 53 adenocarcinomas (AC), 28 squamous carcinomas (SCC), 13 small cell carcinomas (SCLC), one adenosquamous carcinoma, one mucoepidermoid carcinoma, and one sarcomatoid carcinoma in 97 patients. Both AC and SCLC revealed more cases in stage IV than in stage I-III (P<0.01). There was no significant difference in four stages of SCC (P>0.05). Metabolic parameters of SCC were higher than AC including SUV<inf>max</inf>, MTV and TLG (P<0.01). SCLC showed a higher value than AC in TLG (P<0.05). No significant differences were found between AC and SCLC in SUV<inf>max</inf> and MTV, also between SCC and SCLC in SUV<inf>max</inf>, MTV and TLG (P>0.05). MTV and TLG except SUV<inf>max</inf> were positively correlated with stage in AC (P≤0.001). Only MTV showed a positive correlation with stage in SCC (P<0.05). Whereas there were no definitive relationships between metabolic parameters and stage in SCLC (P>0.05). AC with a higher MTV (MTV≥5.965 cm3) indicated a significantly higher rate of distant metastasis than those with a lower MTV (77.5% (31/40) vs. 30.8% (4/13), χ2=9.553, P<0.01), as well as AC with a higher TLG (TLG≥46.922) than those with a lower TLG (88.5% (23/26) vs. 44.4% (12/27), χ2=11.422, P<0.01). CONCLUSIONS Histopathologic subtypes have a significant influence on the relationships between MTV/TLG not SUV<inf>max</inf> of primary foci and stage in lung cancer. Primary MTV/TLG is related to clinical stage closely in AC, and a higher MTV/TLG results in a higher risk of distant metastasis.

Abstract
In this work, the novel tetrapod gold nanostars with four specific numbers of sharp tips were synthesized with good uniformity, high yield and chemical stability. The size of tetrapod gold nanostars has been increased effectively by increasing the amount of HAuCl4 or DEA added to the reaction solution, and the corresponding in-plane localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) band can shift from 700 to 1100 nm. In order to combine the advantages of different metals, the Ag-coated tetrapod gold nanostars were prepared with different Ag coating thicknesses by increasing the volume of AgNO3. With the increase of Ag coating thickness, the morphology of the nanoparticles has changed from gold nanostars with four sharp tips to bimetallic cuboids with four sharp tips and finally to crore-shell cuboids completely. The surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) activity of Ag-coated tetrapod gold nanostars has also been improved with the different Ag coating thicknesses. Combined the tip effect and the enhancement effect of Ag, the SERS activity has the strongest enhancement when the four sharp tips of tetrapod gold nanostars are not completely coated by the Ag layer but still exposed to the outsides. For tetrapod gold nanostars with larger size to grow Ag-coated tetrapod gold nanostars, the bimetallic cuboids with four sharp tips nanostructure have the biggest SERS enhancement factor (EF) of 1.73 × 106 for Rhodamine 6G (R6G), making it an ideal candidate in SERS-based sensing application.

Abstract
PURPOSE Budesonide improves the prognosis of chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS). However, few reports have examined whether its use for nasal irrigation, compared to normal saline, improves the prognosis of patients after endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS). We compared the effects of nasal irrigation with budesonide and normal saline in CRS patients after ESS. METHODS Sixty CRS patients who had undergone ESS were randomly divided into an experimental group (30 patients), which used budesonide nasal irrigation, and a control group (30 patients), which used normal saline nasal irrigation. All patients received regular follow-up evaluations and were assessed via questionnaires, including the Lund-Kennedy endoscopic score (LKES), the symptom visual analog scale (VAS), the 22-item Sino-Nasal Outcome Test (SNOT-22), the Short-Form 36-Item Questionnaire (SF-36), the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), the Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS) and a side effects scale. RESULTS Scores of polyposis, mucosal edema, secretions and total score of LKES; VAS scores of nasal blockage, hyposmia and rhinorrhea; and SNOT-22 results in both groups were significantly improved 3 months after ESS. Scores of polyposis, mucosal edema, secretions and scarring and total score of LKES in experimental group were significantly better than in control group 3 months after ESS. No significant differences were observed in SF-36, SAS or SDS before or 3 months after ESS within or between the two groups. The side effects of the two groups were not significantly different. CONCLUSIONS Nasal irrigation improved the prognosis of CRS patients after ESS. Budesonide nasal irrigation had a better effect than normal saline nasal irrigation.

Abstract
Objective:To analyze the characteristics and related factors of distant metastasis of head and neck mucosal melanoma, so as to provide better help for the treatment and the control of patients' survival. Method:Retrospectively analyze the patients of head and neck mucosal melanoma who were treated in our hospital from January 2004 to December 2016, through follow-up, of which 37 cases of patients with metastatic disease were analyzed which including the incidence of distant metastasis, specific metastasis and prognosis, time, etc.The age and gender of the patients were controlled, and 37 cases of 1∶1 were selected randomly in the patients who had no distant metastasis. χ² test, Kaplan-Meier analysis and multiple factor logistics regression model were used to analyze the related factors of distant metastasis of head and neck mucosal melanoma. Result: The time from hospitalization to distant metastasis was 5-98 months, and the median progression time was 18 months. 27 people died in the 37 cases, 10 people were still alive,which lung metastasis accounted for 32.43%(12/37) , peritoneal metastasis accounted for 16.22% (6/37), bone metastases accounted for 5.41%(2/37), the presence of multiple organ metastasis (lung, liver, brain) patients accounted for 45.95%(17/37).χ² test and Kaplan_Meier analysis showed that no matter whether there was pigmentation or not, postoperative radiotherapy, AJCC staging and operation mode were the significant factors.Finally,multiple factor logistics regression model showed AJCC staging, and the presence of pigment deposition was associated with metastasis. Conclusion: There is a wide variety of multiple organ metastasis when found.Less brain metastases. According to the AJCC stage, patients with advanced stage usually predict poor prognosis and distant metastasis after operation.The patients' lesion without pigmented melanoma have a great chance of distant metastasis..

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the auditory follow-up alteration of GJB2 associated hearing loss children. Method: Forty three children aged 0-5 years with homozygous or heterozygous mutations of gene attach to the Children' s Hearing Diagnostic Center of our hospital were enrolled in this study. Distortion product otoacoustic emissions and acoustic immittance, auditory brainstem response, auditory steady state response, acoustic impedance, pediatric behavior audiometry and other audiological tests were performed. The subjects had at least two audiology diagnosis results at different time; follow-up time was at least three months. According to the genotype, the subjects were divided into two groups: 23 cases(53.49%) in the truncating mutation/truncating mutation (T/T) group and 20 cases(46.51%) in the nontruncating mutation/truncating mutation (NT/T) group. Hearing levels of the first and last diagnoses and progression rate were compared between the two groups, and the progression value and progression rate were analyzed. Result: The average follow-up time was(19.63 ± 16.76) months. The frequency of c. 235delC (56.98%) in GJB2 gene mutations sites was highest in this group, followed by c. 109G> A (22.09%). The first diagnosis of hearing loss, T/T group was mainly severe(60.87%), NT/T group was mainly mild (50.00%); The degree of final hearing loss in the T/T group was mainly severe(50.00%) while the NT/T group was mainly mild(42.50%), and the T/T group was both heavier than the NT/T group. The difference was both statistically significant. Follow-up research on 43 cases(86 ears) showed that 3 cases(4 ears) developed hearing progression, 1 of them were bilateral progression, two was unilateral progression; the overall rate of progression was 4.65%(4/86), and the rate of progression in the T/T group was 2.17%(1/46) while the NT/T group was 7.50%(3/40). There was no significant difference between the two groups. The average progression of 4 ears was 11.25 dB HL, the average progression speed was 0.5 dB HL/month. Conclusion: This study showed that the degree of hearing loss of associated hearing loss children was mild to profound, and those with truncating mutations/truncating mutations were severer than those with nontruncating mutations/truncating mutations. Hearing progression was seen in both groups, it is suggested that children with GJB2 gene mutations hearing progression may occur during growth and development, therefore, they should be followed up regularly. .

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This meta-analysis was performed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion (CSII) vs. multiple daily injections (MDI) in children with type 1 diabetes. METHODS A literature search was conducted on databases including PubMed and Embase up to June 2017. The pooled weighted mean difference or risk ratio as well as 95% confidence intervals were calculated using RevMan 5.3 software. RESULTS Eight studies involving 310 children with type 1 diabetes were included. Results showed that HbA1c (%) was significantly lower (p=0.007) after CSII compared with MDI in children with type 1 diabetes. In addition, there was no significant difference between groups in HbA1c (%) change, total daily insulin doses, change of total daily insulin doses and incidence of ketoacidosis and severe hypoglycemia. However, subgroup analyses indicated that age, treatment duration and study design were influenced the efficacy of CSII and MDI in children with type 1 diabetes. CONCLUSION CSII is associated with lower HbA1c levels in children with type 1 diabetes but appears to have no effect on insulin requirement or incidence of ketoacidosis and severe hypoglycemia.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the roles and anti-cancer mechanism of artificially synthesized EGF-containing fibulin-like extracellular matrix protein (EFEMP1) derived tumor suppressor ZR30 protein in glioma (GBM). Methods: ZR30 protein were in vitro expressed using a wheat germ cell-free system. GBM cell lines (U251, U251NS, and U87) were cultured for 2-3 days in the presence or absence of ZR30 treatment. MMP-2 level was detected by gelatin zymography assay, moreover, the expression of EGFR, Notch-1 and p-Akt/Akt levels were determined by western blot. Additionally, MTT assay was used to measure ZR30's effect on the cell proliferation of U251 and U251NS cells. Furthermore, pre-mixed U251-GFP and U251NS-RFP cells (1∶9) were injected into the brain of nude mice, and then ZR30 or PBS was injected into the intra-tumor after 10 and 21 days, respectively. Then DNA was extracted from the right brain of nude mice in each group. Comparative quantitative polymerase chain reaction (CQ-PCR) was used to examine the copy numbers of human gene hSPAG16, mouse gene mSpag16, GFP and RFP. The survival status of each group of nude mice was also observed. Results: The levels of activated MMP-2 in U87 and U251 cells were lower after 10, 50 and 100 ng/ml ZR30 treatment for 2-3 days. Western blot analysis showed that ZR30 treatment reduced the expression of EGFR, Notch-1 and p-Akt/Akt in U251 cells, and inhibited Notch-1 and p-Akt/Akt expression in U251NS cells, and then decreased the response of U251 cells to EGF stimulation. Moreover, ZR30 inhibited the cell proliferation of U251 and U251NS two days after exposure. The in vivo orthotopic GBM xenografts were successfully constructed. CQ-PCR results indicated that the hSPAG16/mSpag16 ratios of mice in PBS group and ZR30 treatment groups at 180, 700, and 1 800 ng dosages were 3.67±2.82, 1.18±0.97, 1.75±1.55 and 1.38±1.17, respectively, and ZR30 treatment groups showed significantly lower ratios than the PBS group (P<0.05 for all). Correspondingly, the ratios of GFP/RFP in each group were 1.97±0.80, 1.97±0.85, 1.48±0.71 and 1.73±0.77, respectively, showing no statistical significance (P>0.05 for all). When treatment was performed 10 d after cell implantation, and the median survival time of mice in PBS group and ZR30 group was 40.5 days and 59.0 days, respectively. When treatment was performed 21 d after cell implantation, the median survival time of mice in PBS group and ZR30 group was extended to 57.0 days and 74.5 days, respectively. The median survival time of ZR30 treatment groups significantly prolonged (P<0.05 for all). Conclusions: ZR30 inhibits in vitro cell growth, invasion, angiogenesis and stemness maintenance in glioma via suppressing activated MMP-2, EGFR, p-Akt/Akt and Notch-1 proteins. In vivo, ZR30 markedly increased survival of mice harboring glioma xenografts, even for only one intra-tumoral injection at the time of early tumor formation. Overall, the in vivo and in vitro experiments supported the therapeutic potential of ZR30 for GBM.

Abstract
Objective:The aim of this study is to explore the misdiagnosis status of the otolaryngology in China as well as to provide evidence to reduce misdiagnosis and improve the diagnostic level.Method:The retrieval and management system of the misdiagnosed diseases database developed by Chen Xiaohong was used for searching the literature of the misdiagnosis in otolaryngology.The 10 year' smisdiagnosis literature data of the otolaryngology(from 2004 to 2013) were analyzed including the literature sources, sample size, misdiagnosis rate,misdiagnosis consequences and misdiagnosis reasons.Result:A total of 369 articles were found,including 4211 cases.The average misdiagnosis rate was 25.43% in 51 diagnosed diseases.The top misdiagnosed diseases were nasopharyngeal tuberculosis(84.76%),tuberculous otitis media (75%) and congenital laryngeal cyst(75%).The lowest misdiagnosed disease was nasosinusitis(5.92%).The top three misdiagnosed diseases were tuberculosis of otolaryngology(1216 cases),nasosinusitis(710 cases) and BPPV(697 cases).After statistical analysis,we found that 97.22% of the misdiagnosed patients were grade Ⅲ consequences (that is the misdiagnosis and mistreatment does not cause adverse consequences),but there were still 10 cases caused gradeⅠconsequences(death or sequela).The main causes of the misdiagnosis were lack of diagnosis experience, non detailed interrogation and physical examination and non targeted examinations.Conclusion:The big data of the 10 years reflects the misdiagnosis phenomenon in otolaryngology to some extent.Neurologist, stomatologist and ophthalmologist should be familiar to the main points of the differential diagnosis diseases of the otolaryngology and strive to reduce the clinical misdiagnosis and mistreatment.

Abstract
A general feature of unconventional superconductors is the existence of a superconducting dome in the phase diagram. Here we report a series of discrete superconducting phases in the simplest iron-based superconductor, FeSe thin flakes, by continuously tuning the carrier concentration through the intercalation of Li and Na ions with a solid ionic gating technique. Such discrete superconducting phases are robust against the substitution of 20% S for Se, but they are vulnerable to the substitution of 2% Cu for Fe, highlighting the importance of the iron site being intact. The superconducting phase diagram for FeSe derivatives is given, which is distinct from that of other unconventional superconductors.

Abstract
A boy aged 6 years and 3 months developed upper respiratory tract infection and pyrexia 2 months ago and was given oral administration of nimesulide by his parents according to directions. Half an hour later, the boy experienced convulsions and cardiopulmonary arrest, and emergency examination found hypoketotic hypoglycemia, metabolic acidosis, significant increases in serum aminotransferases and creatine kinase, and renal damage. Recovery of consciousness and vital signs was achieved after cardiopulmonary resuscitation, but severe mental and movement regression was observed. The boy had a significant reduction in free carnitine in blood and significant increases in medium- and long-chain fatty acyl carnitine, urinary glutaric acid, 3-hydroxy glutaric acid, isovalerylglycine, and ethylmalonic acid, suggesting the possibility of multiple acyl-CoA dehydrogenase deficiency. After the treatment with vitamin B2, L-carnitine, and bezafibrate, the boy gradually improved, and reexamination after 3 months showed normal biochemical parameters. The boy had compound heterozygous mutations in the ETFDH gene, i.e., a known mutation, c.341G>A (p.R114H), from his mother and a novel mutation, c.1484C>G (p.P495R), from his father. Finally, he was diagnosed with multiple acyl-CoA dehydrogenase deficiency. Reye syndrome and sudden death symptoms were caused by nimesulide-induced acute metabolic crisis. It is concluded that inherited metabolic diseases may be main causes of Reye syndrome and sudden death, and biochemical and genetic analyses are the key to identifying underlying diseases.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to validate the antitumor function of EGFR-chimeric antigen T-cells (CART) targeted to FaDu cells, a hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma cell line, and to provide a preclinical basis for the application of CART cell technology in hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma. METHODS Detection of cytokine secretions of EGFR-CAR T and CART-controls in the presence of target cells and nontarget cells as an indicator of CART cell activation. Detection of the cytotoxic effects of EGFR-CAR T on specific tumors in the presence of target cells was evaluated by LDH release and CART cell proliferation. RESULTS The results showed that cytokine secretion increased significantly after EGFR-CAR T-cells were incubated with target cells, and EGFR-CAR T-cells has higher cytotoxic effect on target cells than the CART-control group. The target cell lysis rate was 52.66%. The proliferation of EGFR-CAR T-cells in the presence of target cells was not distinctly observed. CONCLUSION In this study, we validated the antitumor function of EGFR-CAR T-cells targeted to the FaDu cell line and provided the foundation for application of the CART technique in the treatment of hypopharyngeal carcinoma.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinical significance of low-dose CT (LDCT) in coal mine workers with relatively long working years. Methods: A total of 907 coal mine workers with ≥20 working years were enrolled, among whom there were 863 male and 44 female workers with a mean age of 49.5 years. Digital radiography (DR) was performed for these workers in 2013, and LDCT was performed for three consecutive years from 2014 to 2016. Results: A total of 32 workers were found to have lung nodules by DR in 2013, while in 2014, 269 workers were found to have non-calcified lung nodules by LDCT, and there was a significant difference in the number of workers with lung nodules (χ(2)=233.73, P<0.005) . There was also a significant difference in the detection rate of nodules between the workers with different working years of dust exposure (χ(2)=6.648, P=0.00) . The male workers had a significantly higher detection rate of nodules than the female workers (χ(2)=5.690, P=0.017) . There was no significant difference in the number of nodules between workers with different types of work (χ(2)=16.985, P=0.05) . There were 443 lung nodules in total, among which 71.56% were solid nodules and 55.75% had a size of ≤4mm; malignant nodules were confirmed by surgery in 6 (0.66%) of the 907 workers after baseline LDCT. LDCT reexamination in 2015 and 2016 found new nodules in 8 workers and enlarged nodules in 3 workers, and there was no significant change in the number of nodules with a size of ≤4 mm. Conclusions: It is necessary to perform high-risk population screening for coal mine workers by LDCT. The follow-up strategies for nodules with a size of ≤4mm are the same as those for negative results; annual reexamination is recommended for nodules with a size of >4-8 mm, and clinical treatment should be considered for nodules with a size of >8 mm.

Abstract
Di-butyl phthalate (DBP) is a widely used plasticizer, recalcitrant and hazardous organic compound with high detection frequencies and concentrations in water and soil that pose a great threat to human health. A novel endphytic bacterium strain N-1 capable of efficiently degrading DBP and utilizing it as sole carbon source was isolated from Ageratum conyzoides. This bacterium was identified as Bacillus subtilis based on its morphological characteristics and 16S rDNA sequence analysis. Under the optimal culture conditions (pH 7.0, 30 °C), degradation percentage of DBP (12.5-100 mg/L) was up to 95% within five days, and its biodegradation half-life was less than 7.23 h. Degradation percentage of high DBP concentration (200 mg/L) was relatively lower (89%) with half-life of 56.8 h. DBP was degraded by Bacillus subtilis N-1 into mono-butyl phthalate and phthalic acid as evidenced by GC-MS analysis. Bioaugmentation of Youngia japonica plant slurry with strain N-1 greatly accelerated DBP dissipation with 97.5% removal percentage (higher by 47% than non-inoculation). The results highlighted that strain N-1 has great potential for bioremediation by plant-endophyte partnerships and for lowering PAE accumulation in crops.

Objective: To study the clinical characteristics of mucosal melanoma in the head and neck, including the risk factors affecting distant metastasis, recurrence and survival rate, and to provide the basis for the individualized treatment of mucosal melanoma in the head and neck. Methods: The clinical data of 117 cases of mucosal melanoma in the head and neck treated from January 2004 to June 2016 in Beijing Tongren Hospital were analyzed retrospectively, and the risk factors affecting the prognosis, distant metastasis and local recurrence were analyzed.Kaplan-Meier analysis was used for survival analysis, and Log-Rank test was used for comparison between groups. Results: The follow-up time was 5-139 months, with a median of 32 months, and the median survival time was 34 months.The 3 and 5 year cumulative survival rates were 47.0% and 25.0%, respectively.Local recurrence occurred in 27 patients (23.1%), and distant metastasis in 37 cases (31.6%). After the operation, 50 patients received radiotherapy.Multiple factor Cox regression analysis showed that distant metastasis, AJCC staging, and two operations were risk factors affecting survival (P<0.05), and immunologic/targeted therapy was a protective factor affecting survival prognosis(P=0.008). Postoperative radiotherapy and distant metastasis were important factors affecting recurrence (P<0.05). AJCC staging, pigmentation, and postoperative recurrence were risk factors for distant metastasis (P<0.05). Conclusion: The 3 and 5 year survival rates of primary mucosal melanoma in head and neck are low, and the incidence of local recurrence and distant metastasis are high. Surgery is the first choice and the integrity of the initial operation has an important impact on the prognosis of the patients. Postoperative adjuvant radiotherapy is recommended to improve the local control rate, and immunotherapy and targeted therapy should be applied in time to improve survival.
