Abstract
BACKGROUND CCND1 copy number increase is characteristic of acral melanoma and is useful in distinguishing benign and malignant acral melanocytic lesions. Increase of the gene copy number may result in protein overexpression. This raises the possibility that detection of high expression of cyclin D1 by immunohistochemistry (IHC) may be used as a surrogate for direct evaluation of increase in the CCND1 gene copy number. METHODS We examined increases in CCND1 copy number with fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), and examined cyclin D1 protein expression with IHC in 61 acral melanomas. RESULTS Using FISH, 29 acral melanomas (29/61, 47.5%) showed increase in the CCND1 copy number, including 8 (8/61, 13.1%) which showed low-level increase in the CCND1 copy number and 21 (21/61, 34.4%) with high-level increase in the CCND1 copy number. By analysis of IHC, the median IHC score was 15% (range: 1-80%) in acral melanomas with no CCND1 copy number alteration. In acral melanomas with low-level CCND1 copy number increase, the median IHC score was 25% (range: 3-90%). In acral melanomas with high-level CCND1 copy number increase, the median IHC score was 60% (range: 1-95%). Comparing FISH and IHC, cyclin D1 protein expression level has no corelation with the CCND1 copy number in acral melanomas which have no CCND1 copy number alteration and low-level CCND1 copy number increase (P = 0.108). Cyclin D1 protein expression level correlated positively with CCND1 copy number in acral melanomas with high-level CCND1 copy number increase (P = 0.038). The sensitivity, specificity and positive predictive value of using cyclin D1 IHC to predict CCND1 FISH result was 72.4, 62.5 and 63.6%. Increase in CCND1 copy number was associated with Breslow thickness in invasive acral melanoma. CONCLUSION High-level increase in the CCND1 copy number can induce high cyclin D1 protein expression in acral melanomas. However low-level increase and normal CCND1 copy number have no obvious correlation with protein expression. Cyclin D1 IHC cannot serve as a surrogate for CCND1 FISH in acral melanomas.

Abstract
Background Our understanding in prognosis of bone metastasis (BM) from colorectal cancer (CRC) is limited. We aimed to establish a clinical risk stratification for individually predicting the survival of CRC patients with BM. Methods A total of 200 CRC patients with BM were included in this study. Survival time from BM diagnosis was estimated using the Kaplan-Meier method. The multivariable COX regression model identified the risk factors on cancer specific survival (CSS). Based on weighted scoring system, the stratification model was constructed to classify patients with BM according to prognostic risk. Discrimination power and calibration ability of risk stratification were measured. Results The median CSS time was 11 months after BM diagnosis. Lymph node metastasis, Carbohydrate antigen 199 (CA199) levels, bone involvement, Karnofsky Performance Status (KPS) scores, primary tumor resection, bisphosphonates therapy and radiotherapy were identified as predictors of CSS. Four risk groups were stratified according to weighted scoring system, including low risk, medium risk, medium-high risk and high risk group, with 35, 16, 9 and 5 months of median CSS, respectively (P=0.000). The risk stratification displayed good accuracy in predicting CSS, with acceptable discrimination and calibration. Conclusions This novel risk stratification predicts CSS in CRC patient with BM using easily accessible clinicopathologic factors, which is recommended for use in individualized clinical decision making in patient with BM.

Abstract
e21161 Background: Patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) harboring PTEN mutations have a worse prognosis of immunotherapy in research with small sample size and case reports. However, the role of PTEN and TP53 co-mutations in immunotherapy of NSCLC has not been fully studied. Methods: Patients with NSCLC from our dataset were enrolled in this study. For the genomic profiling, only the pathogenic mutations and likely pathogenic mutations in clinical significance were rolled. The efficiency of immunotherapy was analyzed in a public cohort of 240 NSCLC patients by Rizvi. Patients with EGFR/ALK mutation were excluded in our analysis. Results: In our dataset, 1,428 patients were included in the analysis. 25 (1.75%) patients have PTEN mutations and 429 (30.04%) patients have TP53 mutations. In all patients with PTEN mutations, 84% with TP53 co-mutations. Median tumor mutational burden (TMB) was 12.29 mutations/MB (range, 3.35-36.87) and 6.98mutations/MB (range, 0.56-9.50) in patients harboring PTEN mutations with TP53 co-mutations and without TP53 co-mutations, respectively ( p= 0.02). In 240 NSCLC patients of Rizvi, the overall response rate (ORR) of the PTEN and TP53 co-mutations group, the PTEN mutations without TP53 mutations group and PTEN wild-type group was 33.33%, 0% and 20.26%, respectively. The disease control rate (DCR) was 83.33%, 0% and 54.74%, respectively. The median progression-free survival (PFS) in the PTEN and TP53 co-mutations group was the longest (7.5 months), while the median PFS in the PTEN mutations without TP53 mutations group was only 2.5 months. However, No significant differences of PFS were observed. Conclusions: Our findings suggested that patients with NSCLC harboring PTEN and TP53 co-mutations might benefit more from immunotherapy compare to those harboring PTEN mutation without TP53 mutations and PTEN wild-type. TMB may be an important factor that lead to the results. Further studies need to be explore in cohorts with larger sample sizes.

Abstract
To prepare a tissue-engineered pulmonary valved conduit (PVC) with good tensile strength and biocompatibility. Sixty adult porcine PVCs were used to determine the optimal decellularization time. Five juvenile porcine decellularized PVCs and five juvenile porcine crosslinked PVCs were subsequently prepared according to the optimized decellularization and crosslinking methods. All PVCs were implanted into juvenile sheep for 8 months and then were harvested for staining. With a low concentration of detergent (0.25% Triton X-100+0.25% sodium deoxycholate), the decellularization effect on porcine PVCs was complete by 24 hours, and there was minimal damage to the matrix. Gelatin embedding and 1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl) carbodiimide (EDC) crosslinking improved the biomechanical properties of decellularized PVCs and reduced their immunogenicity. After implantation, the diameter and thickness of the PVCs in the decellularized and crosslinked groups increased significantly. In both groups, the conduits were unobstructed, with soft and smooth inner walls and without thrombosis, ulceration or neoplasia. The valves slightly degenerated with mild to moderate regurgitation. CD31-positive endothelial cells were visible on the inner surface of the conduits and valves. Scattered smooth muscle actin-positive cells were found in the middle layer of the conduit. The percentage of CD4- and CD68-positive cells and the calcium content were highest in decellularized porcine PVCs and lowest in ovine PVCs. The percentage of the matrix that was laminin-positive in decellularized and crosslinked porcine PVCs was lower than it was in ovine PVCs. Gelatin-embedded and EDC-crosslinked porcine PVCs can be "hosted" in sheep, with good biocompatibility, growth potential, and reduced calcification.

Abstract
We investigated the microstructures of carbon nanotube (CNT) films and the effect of CNT length on their mechanical performance. 230 μm-, 300 μm-, and 360 μm- long CNTs were grown and used to fabricate CNT films by a winding process. Opposite from the length effect on CNT fibers, it has been found that the mechanical properties of the CNT films decrease with increasing CNT length. Without fiber twisting, short CNTs tend to bundle together tightly by themselves in the film structure, resulting in an enhanced packing density; meanwhile, they also provide a high degree of CNT alignment, which prominently contributes to high mechanical properties of the CNT films. When CNTs are long, they tend to be bent and entangled, which significantly reduce their packing density, impairing the film mechanical behaviors severely. It has also been unveiled that the determinant effect of the CNT alignment on the film mechanical properties is more significant than that of the film packing density. These findings provide guidance on the optimal CNT length when attempting to fabricate high-performance macroscopic CNT assemblies.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Reduction in L-type Ca2+ current (ICa,L) density is a hallmark of the electrical remodeling in atrial fibrillation (AF). The expression of miR-155, whose predicted target gene is the α1c subunit of the calcium channel (CACNA1C), was upregulated in atrial cardiomyocytes (aCMs) from patients with paroxysmal AF.The study is to determine miR-155 could target the gene expression of ICa,L and contribute to electrical remodeling in AF. METHODS The expression of miR-155 and CACNA1C was assessed in aCMs from patients with paroxysmal AF and healthy control. ICa,L properties were observed after miR-155 transfection in human induced pluripotent stem cell derived atrial cardiomyocytes (hiPSC-aCMs). Furthermore, an miR-155 transgene (Tg) and knock-out (KO) mouse model was generated to determine whether miR-155 was involved in ICa,L-related electrical remodeling in AF by targeting CACNA1C. RESULTS The expression level of miR-155 was increased, while the expression level of CACNA1C reduced in the aCMs of patients with AF. miR-155 transfection in hiPSC-aCMs produced changes in ICa,L properties qualitatively similar to those produced by AF. miR-155/Tg mice developed a shortened action potential duration and increased vulnerability to AF, which was associated with decreased ICa,L and attenuated by an miR-155 inhibitor. Finally, the genetic inhibition of miR-155 prevented AF induction in miR-155/KO mice with no changes in ICa,L properties. CONCLUSIONS The increased miR-155 expression in aCMs was sufficient for the reduction in the density of ICa,L and the underlying electronic remodeling. The inhibition of miR-155 prevented ICa,L-related electric remodeling in AF and might constitute a novel anti-AF approach targeting electrical remodeling.

Abstract
To expand the applications of graphene-based materials to biogas purification, a series of reduced graphene oxide aerogels (rGOAs) were prepared from industrial grade graphene oxide using a simple hydrothermal method. The influences of the hydrothermal preparation temperature on the textural properties, hydrophobicity and physisorption behavior of the rGOAs were investigated using a range of physical and spectroscopic techniques. The results showed that the rGOAs had a macro-porous three-dimensional network structure. Raising the hydrothermal treatment temperature reduced the number of oxygen-containing groups, whereas the specific surface area (SBET), micropore volume (Vmicro) and water contact angle values of the rGOAs all increased. The dynamic adsorption properties of the rGOAs towards hexamethyldisiloxane (L2) increased with increasing hydrothermal treatment temperature and the breakthrough adsorption capacity showed a significant linear association with SBET, Vmicro and contact angle. There was a significant negative association between the breakthrough time and inlet concentration of L2, and the relationship could be reliably predicted with a simple empirical formula. L2 adsorption also increased with decreasing bed temperature. Saturated rGOAs were readily regenerated by a brief heat-treatment at 100 °C. This study has demonstrated the potential of novel rGOA for applications using adsorbents to remove siloxanes from biogas.

Abstract
Being invisible at will has fascinated humanity for centuries and it has become more tangible with the development of metasurfaces, which have demonstrated the extraordinary ability of wavefront manipulation. However, state-of-the-art invisibility cloaks typically work in a deterministic system with a limited bandwidth and small incident angle ranges. Here, by integrating the phase-change material of Ge2Sb2Te5 and the wavefront tailoring functionality of a reflective metasurface, we have achieved a unique carpet cloak that is endowed with broadband invisibility from 6920 to 8220 nm, fully concealing objects over a wide angular span of ±25° and a prominent radar cross-section reduction. Furthermore, the central cloaking wavelength can be continuously tuned with Ge2Sb2Te5 film under different intermediate phases by precisely controlling external stimuli, which will provide a flexible and encouraging way to achieve active features once fabricated. Simulation results also show that the cloaking bandwidth can be significantly extended by triggering Ge2Sb2Te5 from the amorphous to crystalline states. Importantly, the hybrid metasurface can realize switching of "ON" and "OFF" states in terms of cloaking features by converting Ge2Sb2Te5 from the amorphous to the crystalline state. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first metasurface carpet cloak that utilizes the phase-change material of Ge2Sb2Te5 to achieve ultra-broadband, wide-angle, continuously tunable and switchable cloaking with low profiles, light weights, and easy access. This design of a reconfigurable cloak is expected to find potential applications in various areas such as vehicle cloaking, illusions and so on.

Abstract
Neuropeptide FF (NPFF) is a neuropeptide that modulates various physiological processes. The regulatory role of NPFF in the immune and inflammatory response is currently being revealed. However, the effect of NPFF at the transcriptome level in macrophages has not been fully elucidated. Here, the impact of NPFF on gene expression at the transcriptome level of RAW 264.7 cells was investigated by RNA-seq. RAW 264.7 macrophages were treated with NPFF (1 nM) for 18 h, followed by RNA-seq examination. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were acquired, followed by GO, KEGG, and PPI analysis. A total of eight qPCR-verified DEGs were obtained. Next, three-dimensional models of the eight hub proteins were constructed by using homology modeling with Modeller (9v23). Finally, molecular dynamics simulation (300 ns) was performed with GROMACS 2018.2 to investigate the structural characteristics of these hub proteins. NPFF had no detectable effect on the morphology of RAW264.7 cells. A total of 211 DEGs were acquired, and an enrichment study demonstrated that the immune response-related pathway was significantly inhibited by NPFF. Moreover, the molecular dynamics optimized-protein models of the hub proteins were obtained. Collectively, NPFF inhibited the expression of immune-related genes in RAW 264.7 cells at the transcriptome level, which suggested a negative relationship between NPFF and this set of immune-related genes in RAW 264.7 macrophages. Therefore, our data may provide direct evidence of the role of NPFF in peripheral or central inflammatory diseases.

Abstract
Vinblastine (VBL) has been considered as a first-line anti-tumor drug for many years. However, vinblastine-caused myocardial damage has been continually reported. The underlying molecular mechanism of the myocardial damage remains unknown. Here, we show that vinblastine induces myocardial damage and necroptosis is involved in the vinblastine-induced myocardial damage both in vitro and in vivo. The results of WST-8 and flow cytometry analysis show that vinblastine causes damage to H9c2 cells, and the results of animal experiments show that vinblastine causes myocardial cell damage. The necrosome components, receptor-interacting protein 1 (RIP1) receptor-interacting protein 3 (RIP3), are significantly increased in vinblastine-treated H9c2 cells, primary neonatal rat ventricular myocytes and rat heart tissues. And the downstream substrate of RIP3, mixed lineage kinase domain like protein (MLKL) was also increased. Pre-treatment with necroptosis inhibitors partially inhibits the necrosome components and MLKL levels and alleviates vinblastine-induced myocardial injury both in vitro and in vivo. This study indicates that necroptosis participated in vinblastine-evoked myocardial cell death partially, which would be a potential target for relieving the chemotherapy-related myocardial damage.

Abstract
Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is characterized by inflammatory cell infiltration and aggravated by hyperhomocysteinemia (HHcy). It is unknown whether the homocysteine (Hcy)-activated RNA methyltransferase NOP2/Sun domain family member 2 (NSun2) is associated with AAA. Here, we found that NSun2 deficiency significantly attenuated elastase-induced and HHcy-aggravated murine AAA with decreased T cell infiltration in the vessel walls. T cell labeling and adoptive transfer experiments confirmed that NSun2 deficiency inhibited the chemotaxis of vessels to T cells. RNA sequencing of endothelial cells showed that Hcy induced the accumulation of various metabolic enzymes of the phospholipid PC-LPC-LPA metabolic pathway, especially autotaxin (ATX). In the elastase-induced mouse model of AAA, ATX was specifically expressed in the endothelium and the plasma ATX concentration was upregulated and even higher in the HHcy group, which were decreased dramatically by NSun2 knockdown. In vitro Transwell experiments showed that ATX dose-dependently promoted T cell migration. HHcy may upregulate endothelial ATX expression and secretion and in turn recruit T cells into the vessel walls to induce vascular inflammation and consequently accelerate the pathogenesis of AAA. Mechanistically, secreted ATX interacted with T cells by binding to integrin α4, which subsequently activated downstream FAK/Src-RhoA signaling pathways and then induced T cell chemokinesis and adhesion. ATX overexpression in the vessel walls reversed the inhibited development of AAA in the NSun2-deficient mice. Therefore, NSun2 mediates the development of HHcy-aggravated AAA primarily by increasing endothelial ATX expression, secretion and T cell migration, which is a novel mechanism for HHcy-aggravated vascular inflammation and pathogenesis of AAA.

The clinical features were summarized. Kaplan-Meier method was used for survival analysis and Cox regression was used to analyze the prognostic factors. The last follow-up time was June 30, 2019. Results: A total of 458 children with HR-NB were enrolled in this study, including 265 males (57.9%) and 193 females (42.1%), the age at diagnosis was 40.0 months (4.5-148.0 months), the follow-up time was 22.0 months (0.2-138.0 months) and the time of tumor progression or recurrence was 15 months (1-72 months). The 5-year event-free survival (EFS) rate was (31.2±2.6)% and the 5-year overall survival (OS) rate was (43.9±3.2)%. The 5-year EFS rate and 5-year OS rate in 142 hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) patients with bone marrow metastases were better than that in 196 non-transplantation cases with bone marrow metastases ((26.5±4.5)% vs. (25.1±3.6)%, χ²=13.773, P=0.001; (38.1±5.5)% vs. (35.7±4.7)%, χ²=9.235, P=0.002); 128 transplantation patients with bone metastases had higher 5-year EFS rate and 5-year OS rate than 188 non-transplantation cases with bone metastases ((28.5±5.0)% vs. (26.7±3.8)%, χ²=10.222, P=0.001; (37.1±6.0)% vs. (36.2±4.8)%, χ²=7.843, P=0.005). The 5-year EFS rate was higher in 37 HSCT patients with MYCN amplification than in 49 non-transplantation cases with MYCN amplification ((26.8±8.0) % vs. (20.5±6.4) %, χ²=5.732, P=0.017). No significant difference was found in 5-years OS rate between transplantation group with MYCN amplification and non-transplantation group with MYCN amplification ((31.4±8.6) % vs. (26.2±7.4) %, χ²=3.230, P=0.072). Univariate survival analysis showed that lactate dehydrogenase (LDH)≥1 500 U/L was associated with poor prognosis of patients with MYCN amplification (χ²=6.960, P=0.008). Multivariate Cox analysis showed bone marrow metastasis and LDH≥1 500 U/L were independent risk factors for poor prognosis of patients with non-MYCN amplification (HR=2.427, 1.618;95%CI:1.427-4.126, 1.275-2.054, P<0.05) for both comparisons. Conclusions: LDH≥1 500 U/L was the poor prognostic factor for patients with MYCN amplification. The bone marrow metastasis and LDH≥1 500 U/L were the poor prognostic factors for HR-NB patients with non-MYCN amplification. HSCT can improve the prognosis of patients with bone or bone marrow metastasis. It can also retard the time of progression or recurrence for patients with MYCN amplification.

Abstract
Objective: Platelet-derived growth factor alpha (PDGFRA) mutations are respectively rare in gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST). Most GIST with PDGFRA exon 18 mutations including D842V mutation are highly resistant to imatinib. The treatment of GIST harboring PDGFRA primary drug-resistant mutation is a major challenge. This article aims to investigate clinicopathologic features of GIST with PDGFRA-D842V mutation and the efficacy of comprehensive treatment, providing a reference for clinical practice. Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted to collect the clinicopathological and follow-up data of patients with GIST harboring PDGFRA mutation who were diagnosed and treated in the GIST Clinic of Renji Hospital from January 2005 to May 2020. According to the mutation site, the enrolled patients were divided into D842V mutation group and non-D842V mutation group. The differences of clinicopathologic characteristics between the two groups were compared. Furthermore, overall survival and prognostic factors were analyzed. Results: A total of 71 patients with PDGFRA-mutant GIST were included in this study, including 47 cases of D842V mutation (66.2%) and 24 cases of non-D842V mutation (33.8%). There were 28 male patients and 19 female patients in D842V mutation group, with a median age of 60 (36-82) years. There were 16 male patients and 8 female patients in non-D842V mutation group, with a median age of 62 (30-81) years. There were no significant differences in age, gender, primary location, surgical procedure, tumor size, mitotic count, expression of CD117 and DOG1, Ki-67 proliferation index and modified NIH grade between the two groups (all P>0.05). The positive rate of CD34 was 89.4% (42/47) and 62.5% (15/24) in the D842V mutation group and the non-D842V mutation group, respectively, with a statistically significant difference (χ(2)=5.644, P=0.018). Among all the cases, 66 cases underwent R0 resection without preoperative treatment; two cases underwent emergency operation with R1 resection because of tumor rupture; 2 cases were not operated after the pathological and mutation types were confirmed by biopsy (one case received avapritinib treatment and obtain partial remission). One case was diagnosed as wild-type GIST per needle biopsy in another institute, and underwent R0 resection after preoperative imatinib treatment for 6 months. After surgery, 5 high-risk GIST patients with D842V mutation and 5 high-risk GIST patients with non-D842V mutation were treated with imatinib for more than one year. The median follow-up time was 37 (1-153) months. As of the last follow-up among the patients who received R0 resection, 4 patients with D842V mutation had relapse, of whom 1 was in the period of imatinib administration, and the 3-year relapse-free survival rate was 94.2%; none of the patients with non-D842V mutation had relapse. There was no statistically significant difference in relapse-free surivval between two groups (P=0.233). Univariate analysis revealed that mitotic count (P=0.002), Ki-67 proliferation index (P<0.001) and modified NIH grade (P=0.025) were the factors associated with relapse-free survival of patients with D842V mutation after R0 resection (all P<0.05). However, the above factros were not testified as independant prognostic facors in multivariate Cox analysis (all P<0.05). Conclusion: Clinicopathologic features and the efficacy of radical resection in patients with PDGFRA-D842V mutation are similar to those in patients with non-D842V mutation.

Abstract
BACKGROUND This study aimed to describe the mid-term outcomes of different treatments in patients with atrial fibrillation caused tricuspid regurgitation. METHODS A retrospective study of patients diagnosed as atrial fibrillation caused moderate-severe tricuspid regurgitation undergoing ablation (n = 411) were reviewed. The surgical cohort (n = 114) underwent surgical ablation and tricuspid valve repair; the catheter cohort (n = 279) was selected from those patients who had catheter ablation. RESULTS The estimated actuarial 5-year survival rates were 96.8% (95% CI: 92.95-97.78) and 92.0% (95% CI: 85.26-95.78) in the catheter and surgical cohort, respectively. Tethering height was showed as independent risk factors for recurrent atrial fibrillation and tricuspid regurgitation in both cohorts. A matched group analysis using propensity-matched was conducted after categorizing total patients by tethering height < 6 mm and ≥ 6 mm. Kaplan-Meier analysis showed in patients with tethering height < 6 mm, there were no differences in survival from mortality, stroke, recurrent atrial fibrillation and tricuspid regurgitation between two groups. In patients with tethering height ≥ 6 mm, there were significantly higher cumulative incidence of stroke (95% CI, 0.047-0.849; P = 0.029), recurrent atrial fibrillation (95% CI, 0.357-09738; P = 0.039) and tricuspid regurgitation (95% CI, 0.359-0.981; P = 0.042) in catheter group. CONCLUSIONS Atrial fibrillation caused tricuspid regurgitation resulted in less leaflets coaptation, which risk the recurrence of atrial fibrillation and tricuspid regurgitation. Patients whose tethering height was less than 6 mm showed satisfying improvement in tricuspid regurgitation with the restoration of sinus rhythm after catheter ablation. However, in patients with severe leaflets tethering, the results favored surgical over catheter.

Abstract
A topological meron features a non-coplanar structure, whose order parameters in the core region are perpendicular to those near the perimeter. A meron is half of a skyrmion, and both have potential applications for information carrying and storage. Although merons and skyrmions in ferromagnetic materials can be readily obtained via inter-spin interactions, their behaviour and even existence in ferroelectric materials are still elusive. Here we observe using electron microscopy not only the atomic morphology of merons with a topological charge of 1/2, but also a periodic meron lattice in ultrathin PbTiO3 films under tensile epitaxial strain on a SmScO3 substrate. Phase-field simulations rationalize the formation of merons for which an epitaxial strain, as a single alterable parameter, plays a critical role in the coupling of lattice and charge. This study suggests that by engineering strain at the nanoscale it should be possible to fabricate topological polar textures, which in turn could facilitate the development of nanoscale ferroelectric devices.

Abstract
A series of the magnetic CuFe2O4-loaded corncob biochar (CuFe2O4@CCBC) materials was obtained by combining the two-step impregnation of the corncob biochar with the pyrolysis of oxalate. CuFe2O4@CCBC and the pristine corncob biochar (CCBC) were characterized using XRD, SEM, VSM, BET, as well as pHZPC measurements. The results revealed that CuFe2O4 had a face-centered cubic crystalline phase and was homogeneously coated on the surface of CCBC. The as-prepared CuFe2O4@CCBC(5%) demonstrated a specific surface area of 74.98 m2·g-1, saturation magnetization of 5.75 emu·g-1 and pHZPC of 7.0. The adsorption dynamics and thermodynamic behavior of Pb(II) on CuFe2O4@CCBC and CCBC were investigated. The findings indicated that the pseudo-second kinetic and Langmuir equations suitably fitted the Pb(II) adsorption by CuFe2O4@CCBC or CCBC. At 30 °C and pH = 5.0, CuFe2O4@CCBC(5%) displayed an excellent performance in terms of the process rate and adsorption capacity towards Pb(II), for which the theoretical rate constant (k2) and maximum adsorption capacity (qm) were 7.68 × 10-3 g·mg-1··min-1 and 132.10 mg·g-1 separately, which were obviously higher than those of CCBC (4.38 × 10-3 g·mg-1·min-1 and 15.66 mg·g-1). The thermodynamic analyses exhibited that the adsorption reaction of the materials was endothermic and entropy-driven. The XPS and FTIR results revealed that the removal mechanism could be mainly attributed to the replacement of Pb2+ for H+ in Fe/Cu-OH and -COOH to form the inner surface complexes. Overall, the magnetic CuFe2O4-loaded biochar presents a high potential for use as an eco-friendly adsorbent to eliminate the heavy metals from the wastewater streams.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to evaluate the safety of natural orifice specimen extraction surgery (NOSES) and to compare the short- and long-term outcomes of three techniques of NOSES for rectal cancer (RC). MATERIALS AND METHODS A consecutive series of RC patients in stage I-III who underwent laparoscopic NOSES were enrolled. Three main techniques of NOSES included specimen eversion and extra-abdominal resection (EVER), specimen extraction and extra-abdominal resection (EXER) and intra-abdominal resection and specimen extraction (IREX). The postoperative complications, 5-year disease free survival (DFS), 5-year local recurrence rate (LRR) and 5-year distant metastasis rate (DMR) were compared in three techniques. RESULTS 268 RC patients met inclusion criteria, including 83 patients treated with EVER, 75 patients treated with EXER and 110 patients treated with IREX. Tumor location was the most critical factor associated with technique selection, with P < 0.001. Postoperative complication rate was 12.3% for all patients, and it was 18.1% for EVER, 13.3% for EXER and 7.3% for IREX. There were no significant differences for anastomotic leakage, anastomotic bleeding and intraabdominal abscess among three technique groups, with P > 0.05. For long-term outcomes, the 5-year DFS, 5-year LRR and 5-year DMR were 85.03%, 4.22% and 11.00% for all patients. Patients in advanced tumor stage have worse long-term survival compared with patients in early stage, but no significant survival differences were observed among three technique groups. CONCLUSION Three techniques of NOSES for RC had acceptable short- and long-term outcomes, and tumor location was a determinant of technique selection.

Abstract
Induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) are a promising melanocyte source as they propagate indefinitely and can be established from patients. However, the in vivo functions of human iPSC-derived melanocytes (hiMels) remain unknown. Here, we generated hiMels from vitiligo patients using a three-dimensional system with enhanced differentiation efficiency, which showed characteristics of human epidermal melanocytes with high sequence similarity and involved in multiple vitiligo-associated signaling pathways. A modified hair follicle reconstitution assay in vivo showed that MITF+PAX3+TYRP1+ hiMels were localized in the mouse hair bulb and epidermis and produced melanin up to 7 weeks after transplantation, whereas MITF+PAX3+TYRP1- hiMelanocyte stem cells integrated into the bulge-subbulge regions. Overall, these data demonstrate the long-term functions of hiMels in vivo to reconstitute pigmented hair follicles and to integrate into normal regions for both mature melanocytes and melanocyte stem cells, providing an alternative source of personalized cellular therapy for depigmentation.

Abstract
Objective: To compare the clinical diagnosis and outcomes of preterm infants with bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) under two different diagnostic criteria. Methods: A retrospective study was performed in 157 preterm infants who were admitted to Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Children's Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine from January 2015 to December 2018. Enrolled infants, with gestational age <32 weeks and survived >14 days, met the 2001 National Institute of Child Health and Human Development(NICHD) definition of moderate and severe BPD or died between 14 days of postnatal age and 36 weeks owing to persistent parenchymal lung disease and respiratory failure. The severities of BPD were revaluated according to the 2018 revised definition of BPD proposed by NICHD. Characteristics and outcomes of these infants were compared with the two different diagnostic criteria with t-test, nonparametric test or Chi-square test. Results: In the 157 enrolled infants (100 males), severities of BPD were classified as moderate in 62, severe in 84 and unclassifiable in 11 according to the 2001 NICHD criteria, while grade Ⅰ in 51, Ⅱ in 29, Ⅲ in 66 and ⅢA in 11 infants respectively according to the 2018 NICHD criteria. Duration of oxygen therapy, positive pressure ventilation and endotracheal intubation in grade Ⅱinfants of 2018 criteria were much longer than that in moderate infants of 2001 criteria (80 (65, 95) vs. 65 (59, 77) d, 52 (38, 58) vs.30 (19, 48) d, 10 (2, 17) vs.4 (0, 12) d, Z=-2.995, -3.750, -2.073, all P<0.05). Mortality of moderate and severe infants in 2001 criteria was 10.3% (15/146), while mortality of BPD in 2018 criteria was 16.6% (26/157). Mortality of grade Ⅲ and ⅢA BPD in 2018 criteria was much higher than mortality of severe BPD in 2001 criteria (33.8% (26/77) vs. 17.9%(15/84), χ(2)=5.357, P<0.05). Conclusion: Definition and classification of BPD based on 2001 NICHD criteria may cause missed or unclassified cases, resulting in the underestimation of the morbidity and mortality of infants with severe BPD.
