Abstract
Hypoxia is a crucial microenvironment for inflamed periodontal tissue and periodontal wound healing. Enamel matrix proteins (EMPs) potentially can promote the formation of new periodontium. The effects of EMPs on periodontal ligament cells under hypoxia, however, remain unclear. We investigated the effects of EMPs on cellular biobehavior and osteogenic differentiation of human periodontal ligament cells (hPDLCs) under hypoxia. Under cobalt chloride (CoCl2)-induced hypoxia, cellular biobehavior of hPDLCs, including proliferation, attachment, spreading, and migration with or without EMPs, was evaluated by 3-(4, 5-dimethylthiazol- 2-yl)-2, 5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide (MTT), cell counting, spreading area measurement and wound scratch assay. The osteogenic activity of hPDLCs was assessed using alkaline phosphatase (ALP) and alizarin red S staining (ARS). The expressions of osteogenic genes including runt related transcription factor 2 (Runx2), ALP, osteocalcin (OCN) and collagen type I (Col-I) were detected using real time quantitative PCR, western blot and immunocytochemistry assays. The biobehavior and osteogenic differentiation of hPDLCs were inhibited significantly under hypoxia. EMPs have no effect on cell proliferation under mimicked hypoxia. EMPs partly reversed the inhibitory effects of hypoxia, however, for other cellular biobehavior including attachment, spreading and migration, and markedly up-regulated osteogenic differentiation activities including ALP, mineralization ability and the expressions of osteogenic genes such as Runx2, ALP, osteocalcin, and collagen type I in hPDLCs under hypoxia. EMPs attenuate the hypoxic injury to cellular biobehavior and osteogenic differentiation in hPDLCs under hypoxia.

Abstract
1. The soybean meal (SBM) was heated at 100°C for 1, 2, 4 and 8 h, respectively, and their resultant oxidative status was evaluated. 2. A total of 400 one-day-old Arbor Acres broilers were randomly divided into 5 treatments with 8 replicates of 10 birds each, and fed with diets containing non-heated SBM (NHSBM) or 1 of 4 heated SBMs (HSBMs, SBMs heated at 100°C for 1, 2, 4 and 8 h, respectively) for 42 d. 3. The contents of carbonyl in the SBMs were both linearly and quadratically increased, whereas the nitrogen solubility index, and in vitro digestibility of crude protein (CP) and dry matter (DM) in the SBMs were both linearly and quadratically decreased as heating time increased (P < 0.05). The concentrations of sulfhydryl and total sulfhydryl in the SBMs were linearly decreased as heating time increased (P < 0.05). 4. The average daily gain was linearly decreased while the feed conversion ratio (FCR) was linearly increased in broilers as heating time of dietary HSBMs increased during both d 22-42 and d 1-42 of study (P < 0.05), though FCR of broilers during d 22-42 study were unaffected when the heating time of dietary HSBMs was 1 h (P > 0.05). The serum glucose concentration and the activity of trypsin at d 42, and the apparent total digestibility of CP and DM were all linearly reduced in broilers when heating time of dietary HSBMs increased (P < 0.05). However, 1 h HSBM has a numerical higher CP and DM digestibility than NHSBM. The serum urea nitrogen contents were both linearly and quadratically increased at both d 21 and 42 (P < 0.05), and relative pancreas weight was linearly increased at d 42 in broilers as heating time of dietary HSBMs increased (P < 0.05).

Abstract
Objective: To observe the predictive value of serial platelet function testing (PFT) on outcome in patients undergoing complex percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Methods: Six hundred and two consecutive patients undergoing complex PCI in Anzhen hospital were enrolled during October 2011 to June 2012.Adenosine diphosphate(ADP)-induced platelet aggregation was measured by light transmission aggregometry on the first, sixth and twelfth month after PCI and the mean value was calculated.The cut-off value of high on-treatment platelet reactivity (HTPR) was defined as 40%.The primary endpoint was major adverse cardiovascular and cerebral event (MACCE). Clinical outcomes were analyzed by the Kaplan-Meier method and differences were compared using the log-rank test.Multivariate analyses by Cox proportion hazards regression were applied to identify variables independently associated with the adverse outcomes. Results: Five hundred and eighty-five patients (HTPR, n=285; non-HTPR, n=280) finished the follow-up ((28.47±7.45) months). A total of 33 cases of MACCE were observed during the follow-up, among which 29 cases(8.42%) were in HTPR group and 9 cases (3.21%) in the non-HTPR group.Kaplan-Meier analysis suggested that HTPR was associated with an increased incidence of MACCE (log-rank test, P=0.01). The Cox multivariate analysis indicated that HTPR was an independent risk factor of MACCE (HR=2.69, 95%CI 1.23-5.85, P=0.01) in patients undergoing complex PCI.Incidence of MACCE was similar between HTRP patients receiving standard dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) or prolonged DAPT (>12 months). Conclusion: Serial PFT could predict the long-term prognosis of patients underwent complex PCI.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate whether cancer-associated- fibroblasts (CAF), the key component of tumor microenvironment, regulate the chemoresistant capacity of lung cancer cell line A549 through SDF-1 secretion. Methods: Primary cell isolation techniques was used to isolate cancer-associated-fibroblasts from lung cancer patients. MTT assay was applied to determine the proliferation and chemoresistance of A549 cells. Quantative PCR was used to detect the mRNA changes of Bcl-xL. Western blotting was used to detect the protein expression of Bcl-xL. ELISA was applied to detect the SDF-1 secretion from normal fibroblasts (NF) and CAF. Results: CAF promoted the proliferation of A549 cells, while NF had no significant effect on them. After 72 hrs incubation, the absorbance value of A549+ CAF medium group was 0.814±0.006, significantly different from the 0.753±0.006 of the A549+ NF medium group (P<0.05). The Q-PCR assay indicated that mRNA expressions of Bcl-xL in the A549 group, A549+ NF medium group and A549+ CAF medium group were 1.00±0.11, 1.10±0.09 and 3.50±0.30, respectively, showing a significant difference between the A549+ NF medium group and A549+ CAF medium group (P<0.05). The Western blot showed that protein expressions of Bcl-xL in the A549 group, A549+ NF medium group and A549+ CAF medium group were 1.00±0.08, 1.10±0.12 and 3.10±0.25, respectively, with a significant difference between the A549+ NF medium group and A549+ CAF medium group (P<0.05). The ELISA results showed that the SDF-1 concentrations in the A549+ NF medium group and A549+ CAF medium group were 3.23±0.02 and 9.53±0.10, respectively, significantly different from each other (P<0.05). The MTT assay indicated that the absorbance values of OD of A549 group, A549+ AMD3100 group, A549+ NF medium group, A549+ NF medium+ AMD3100 group, A549+ CAF medium and A549+ CA Fmedium+ AMD3100 group were 0.43±0.03, 0.25±0.02, 0.48±0.03, 0.31±0.03, 0.72±0.06 and 0.45±0.03, respectively. The data of A549+ NF medium group was significantly different from that of A549+ CAF medium group (P<0.05). Conclusions: Cancer-associated-fibroblasts enhance the drug resistance of A549 cells through SDF-1 secretion, upregulating the expression level of Bcl-xL through interaction with CXCR4. Our study not only illustrates that tumor microenvironment is able to enhance drug resistance of tumor, but also provides experimental evidence for the cancer-associated-fibroblasts as a potential therapeutic target for the treatment of lung cancer.

Abstract
Objective:To review the results of caloric test and the video head impulse test (vHIT) in a cohort of VM patients and assessed the value of each for predicting the prognosis in VM patients. Method:A retrospective analysis was performed on VM patients in our vertigo clinic, vestibular function were assessed by caloric test and vHIT at the initial visit and 6 months after treatment. Complete response (CR) was defined as no need for continued medication, uncomplete response (UR) as improved symptoms but need for continued medication, no symptomatic improvement. Result:At the initial evaluation, 15 of 75 (15.0%) exhibited abnormal caloric test results, 9 of 75 patients (12.0%) exhibited abnormal vHIT results. Six months later, 58 of 75 patients (77.3%) no longer required medication (CR), while 17 (22.7%)UR patients need for continued medication. The ratio of abnormal vHIT gain and abnormal caloric results were significantly different between group (CR) and group (UR) (P<0.05). Conclusion:Abnormal vHIT and caloric test results revealed semicircular canal dysfunction in VM patients, peripheral vestibular abnormalities are closely related to the development of vertigo in VM patients and predicted prolonged preventive medication and vestibular rehabilitation requirement.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of abnormal glucose metabolism on cognitive function of patients with acute small-arterial occlusion (SAO). The present study included 1,211 patients, with small-artery occlusion according to the Trial of Org 10172 in acute stroke treatment (TOAST) classification, admitted between March 2014 and December 2016 to The Second Hospital of Jiaxing. According to cognitive function, the patients were divided into a group of normal cognitive function, a mild cognitive impairment group (MCI group) and a dementia group. The patients were also divided into normal a blood sugar group, an impaired glucose regulation group (IGR group) and a diabetes mellitus (DM) group based on glucose metabolism. Cognitive functions of patients in the different glucose metabolism groups were compared based on Mini-mental State Examination (MMSE) and Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA). General data, medical history, neuropsychological assessment and haematological index of the patients in each group were analyzed. Logistic regression analysis was used to study independent risk factors influencing cognitive impairment. When comparing the group of normal cognitive function with the MCI group, there were no statistical significant differences between the MMSEs scores of patients among the three groups, but the difference in MoCAs scores had statistical significance. Hypertension history, hyperhomocysteinemia (Hhcy) and sedentariness were independent risk factors for SAO patients with MCI. When comparing the group of normal cognitive function with the dementia group, there were statistically significant differences (P<0.05) between the MMSE and MoCA scores of patients among the three groups. Abnormal glucose metabolism, old age, female, high blood pressure, Hhcy, family stroke history and sedentariness were independent risk factors for SAO patients with dementia. In conclusion, abnormal glucose metabolism impairing cognitive function is not an independent risk factor for SAO patients with MCI, but is an independent risk factor for SAO patients with dementia.

Abstract
To evaluate clinical effects of amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium in the treatment of children with suppurative tonsillitis, 146 children with suppurative tonsillitis were randomly divided into a ceftezole sodium group and an amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium group. The two groups were given anti-infection treatment using different drugs. Symptomatic treatment was carried out once symptoms such as fever appeared. Five to seven days were taken as one treatment course. Blood routine examination and the detection of C-reactive protein (CRP) were performed three days after treatment. Indexes such as the time to the relief of symptoms, the count of white blood cells, the proportion of neutrophil and CRP levels and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between groups to evaluate the curative effect. The overall response rate of the amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium group was 94.52%, while that of the ceftezole sodium group was 78.08%; the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The improvement of white blood cells and CRP levels of the amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium group was more obvious than that of the ceftezole sodium group (P<0.05). The difference of the time to the improvement of symptoms between the two groups had statistical significance; the amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium group was superior to the ceftezole sodium group (P<0.05). No severe drug-related adverse reactions were observed. Amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium dispersible tablet is effective in treating children with suppurative tonsillitis as it can rapidly relieve the clinical symptoms without increasing incidence of adverse reactions.

Abstract
Under the available data gathered from a coronary study questionnaires with 10 792 cases, this article constructs a Bayesian network model based on the tabu search algorithm and calculates the conditional probability of each node, using the Maximum-likelihood. Pros and cons of the Bayesian network model are evaluated to compare against the logistic regression model in the analysis of coronary factors. Applicability of this network model in clinical study is also investigated. Results show that Bayesian network model can reveal the complex correlations among influencing factors on the coronary and the relationship with coronary heart diseases. Bayesian network model seems promising and more practical than the logistic regression model in analyzing the influencing factors of coronary heart disease.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the patterns and influencing factors of lymph node metastasis of adenocarcinoma of the esophagogastric junction (AEG). METHODS Clinicopathological data of 393 AEG patients who underwent radical resection and lymphadenectomy in the thoracic or abdominal cavity were collected. We analyzed the metastatic patterns of 5 119 excised lymph nodes with an average of 13 nodes per patient according to Siewert classification, and the associations between lymphatic metastasis and clinicopathological factors, such as tumor invasion, differentiation, maximum diameter, or pathological type were analyzed. RESULTS The lymph node metastasis rate and ratio (LNR) were 70.0% (275/393) and 29.1% (1 492/5 119), respectively. All the Siewert subtypes of AEG mainly metastasize downwards to the abdominal lymph nodes, while also spread upwards to the mediastinal lymph nodes. Among them, the lymph node metastasis rate was highest in Siewert type Ⅰ and lowest in Siewert type Ⅲ AEG. The lymph node metastasis rate and ratio in T1, T2, T3, T4 AEGs were 0%, 29.4%, 75.0%, 74.6% and 0%, 10.1%, 14.2%, 32.0%, respectively (χ(2)=35.305, P<0.001 and χ(2)=134.034, P<0.001). The lymph node metastasis rate and ratio of the poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma were 36.0% and 79.3%, respectively, significantly higher than 22.1% and 61.7% of the well-differentiated adenocarcinoma (χ(2)=14.468, P<0.001 and χ(2)=120.009, P<0.001). The lymph node metastasis rate and ratio of patients with a tumor in maximum diameter ≥4 cm were 73.1% and 30.9%, significantly higher than 46.8% and 14.6%, respectively, in the patients with a tumor in maximum diameter of <4 cm (χ(2)=13.636, P<0.001 and χ(2)=64.767, P<0.001). The group of vascular tumor thrombus showed significantly higher lymph node metastasis rate and ratio than those in the group with no vascular tumor thrombus (84.6% versus 67.1%, χ(2)=7.946, P=0.005; and 45.0% versus 26.0%, χ(2)=112.723, P<0.001). The lymph node metastasis ratio of mucinous and signet ring cell adenocarcinoma was 34.9%, significantly higher than 28.5% of the adenocarcinoma (χ(2)=8.710, P<0.001) The depth of tumor invasion and degree of tumor differentiation were independent factors affecting lymph node metastasis (P=0.001 and P<0.001). CONCLUSIONS The lymph node metastasis rate and ratio of AEG are high and influenced by many clinicopathological factors. The patterns of lymph node metastasis are different among different Siewert subtype AEGs.The depth of tumor invasion and differentiation degree are independent factors affecting lymphatic metastasis.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Gastrointestinal (gi) symptoms are the most notable side effects of chemotherapeutic drugs; such symptoms are currently treated with drugs. In the present study, we investigated the effect of acupuncture on gi symptoms induced by chemotherapy in patients with advanced gastric cancer. METHODS A cohort of 56 patients was randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group. All patients received combination chemotherapy with oxaliplatin-paclitaxel. Patients in the experimental group received 30 minutes of acupuncture therapy daily for 2 weeks. The frequency and duration of nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, the average days and costs of hospitalization, and quality-of-life scores were compared between the groups. RESULTS Nausea was sustained for 32 ± 5 minutes and 11 ± 3 minutes daily in the control and experimental groups respectively (p < 0.05). On average, vomiting occurred 2 ± 1 times daily in the experimental group and 4 ± 1 times daily in the control group (p < 0.05). Abdominal pain persisted for 7 ± 2 minutes and 16 ± 5 minutes daily in the experimental and control groups respectively (p < 0.05). On average, diarrhea occurred 1 ± 1 times daily in the experimental group and 3 ± 1 times daily in the control group (p < 0.05). The average quality-of-life score was higher in the experimental group than in the control group (p < 0.05). No adverse events were observed for the patients receiving acupuncture. CONCLUSIONS Acupuncture, a safe technique, could significantly reduce gi symptoms induced by chemotherapy and enhance quality of life in patients with advanced gastric cancer.

Tea and Chinese medicine has a very close relationship. Chinese herbs taken as tea forming the tea-like medicinal tea, can be taken frequently at anytime. The application of Chinese herbs taken as tea drinking begins from the Tang Dynasty, flourishes in the Song Dynasty and matures in the Qing Dynasty. The review of its history provides ample evidence of Chinese herbs taken as tea drinking in treating and preventing diseases, as well as providing the clues and references of developing new Chinese herbs taking as tea.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To study the epidemiological characteristics of respiratory adenovirus (ADV) infections in children from the Suzhou area, China. METHODS The clinical data of ADV-positive children out of 35 529 children with respiratory tract infections who were hospitalized in the Children's Hospital of Soochow University between January 2006 and December 2015 were retrospectively studied. RESULTS Of the 35 529 children with respiratory tract infections, 440 (1.24%) were ADV-positive. There was no significant difference in the rate of ADV infections between boys and girls (1.18% vs 1.34%). The ADV infection rates of children at the age of <1 year old, 1-3 years old, 3-7 years old and 7-14 years old were 0.39% (71/18 002), 1.12% (103/9 191), 3.14% (201/6 398), and 3.35%( 65/1 938) respectively and the rate increased with age (P<0.01). The ADV infection rates in spring [1.85%(60/8 658)] and summer [2.20%(189/8 606)] were significantly higher than in autumn [0.30%(27/8 952)] and winter [0.69%(64/9 313)] (P<0.01). CONCLUSIONS The ADV infection rate is increased with age in the children from the Suzhou area, but it is not associated with gender. ADV infections are more common in spring and summer.

Abstract
Temporary strict emission control strategies were conducted to ensure good air quality for China's V-Day parade (August 20-September 3, 2015) in Beijing and nearby cities. The influence of the emission control on particle number size distribution (PNSD) was evaluated based on the long-term measurements of PNSD at a rural site (Shangdianzi) located northeast of Beijing. This study also presented the comparison results of PNSD during the parade in 2015 and the Olympics in 2008 (August 8-23), as well as the same period without strict emission control in 2010-2013 (August 20-September 3). Compared with the same period in 2010-2013 and 2008 Olympics, the accumulation mode particle number concentration showed a significant reduction in 2015, and the PM1 mass concentration decreased by approximately 60-90%. The alleviation of the PM1 was also associated with the weather conditions. The back trajectories analysis results showed that the southerly air mass passing through the polluted areas accounted for 14% of the total back trajectories in 2015, which contributed to approximately 60% in the other years. During the control period in 2015, there were six new particle formation (NPF) events observed, with a higher frequency, but a lower formation rate and growth rate than the same period in 2010-2013. The comparison of the condensation sink (CS), sulfuric acid, solar radiation and relative humidity among the different years indicated that at Shangdianzi station, the first factor in determining the NPF occurrence was the CS, and the second factor could be the concentration level of precursor vapors participating in the NPF event (e.g., sulfuric acid).

Abstract
A Doppler frequency shift spectrum (DFSS) system composed of two spectrometers has been developed for the joint Texas experimental tokamak to measure diagnostic neutral beam parameters including the beam energy fractions, intensity distributions, and divergences. The beam energy fractions are derived from measurements of H-alpha (Hα) emission using collisional excitation cross sections. The beam intensity distributions are obtained using an 11-channel measurement with a reconstruction technique. The beam divergences are obtained from spectrum broadening and geometric calculations. The results of preliminary investigations indicate that the DFSS system works well and can be used to obtain all of these parameters simultaneously. According to the preliminary experiment, the one-third energy fraction has the largest proportion (about 45%) of the beam energy and the full energy fraction is about 10%. The beam diameter is about 8.1 cm at a distance of 2.04 m from the accelerator. The beam divergence angle is about 3.3°. The current beam parameters are insufficient for charge-exchange measurements.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the clinical, radiological and pathological features of primary or metastatic malignancies presenting with multiple lung cavities. METHODS A total of 38 cases met the inclusion criteria and had adequate imaging data for retrospective review between June 2006 and August 2013. There were 30 cases of primary lung cancer, and 8 cases of pulmonary metastasis including 6 gastrointestinal tract malignancies, 1 vulva malignancy and 1 scalp malignancy. There were 21 females and 17 males, with a median age of 63 years. RESULTS Cough and expectoration were the most common clinical manifestations of primary lung cancer(22/30). There were 4 main types of lung cavities, including thick-walled cavities(n=12), circular cavities (n=24), thin-walled cavities or cystic cavities (n=11), cavities or multi-cystic changes within airspace consolidation or ground glass opacity(n=11). The cavitary lesions were often accompanied by pulmonary nodules, mass and ground glass opacity(32/38, 84%). The presence of internal soft-tissue septa in the cavity was commonly seen(17/38, 45%). The 4(th) type of cavity and presence of air-fluid levels were only found in lung adenocarcinoma, including 5 cases of mucinous adenocarcinoma. In both primary lung cancers and metastatic tumors, adenocarcinoma was the most common histological type (29/30 and 6/8, respectively). The other histological types included 1 case of lung squamous cell carcinoma, 1 vulva adenosquamous carcinoma and 1 scalp angiosarcoma. The possible mechanisms of cavity formation included necrosis, mucin-secretion air-containing cystic spaces in papillary tumors and the check-valve mechanism. CONCLUSIONS Adenocarcinoma was the most common histological type in multiple cavitary primary lung cancers and metastatic tumors. These cavities showed varied radiological features and were easy to be misdiagnosed as benign cavitary lung diseases.

Abstract
Objective: To understand the prevalence of diabetes in adults in Hebei province. Methods: The survey was conducted among the local residents aged ≥18 years, who were selected through multi stage cluster sampling from September 2013 to April 2014. Design-based methods were used to analyze the prevalence in the last 12 months. Results: A total of 7 678 adults were included in the study. The overall prevalence of diabetes in Hebei was 12.9% (13.1% in men and 12.8% in women), there was no sex specific difference in diabetes prevalence (P=0.09). The prevalence was higher in urban residents (16.2%) than that in rural residents (12.1%), the difference was significant (P<0.01). The prevalence of diabetes increased with age (P<0.01). The prevalence of impaired fasting glucose was 5.1%, the difference was significant between men and women and between rural area and urban area (P<0.01). The prevalence of impaired glucose tolerance was 10.4%. The difference of prevalence of impaired glucose tolerance in men and women and between rural area and urban area was not significant. The rates of awareness, treatment and control of diabetes were 50.7%, 46.3% and 37.5%, respectively. Women had higher awareness rate and treatment rate of diabetes than men, the difference was significant (P<0.01). Conclusions: The prevalence of diabetes was high in adults in Hebei province, the difference in diabetes prevalence between urban area and rural area was significant. The prevalence of impaired fasting glucose and impaired glucose tolerance were high, but the rates of awareness, treatment and control of diabetes were low.

Abstract
Objective:To investigate the measurement effect of droplet digital PCR(dd-PCR) for H.pylori infections in chronic tonsillitis and explore the correlations between H.pylori infections and chronic tonsillitis.Method:The subjects consisted of 48 chronic tonsillitis patients aged between 7 and 52 years scheduled for tonsillectomy.Core biopsy samples from resected tonsillary tissue was tested for H.pylori detection using both RT-PCR and dd-PCR for the CagA and VacA genes.Preoperative patient venous blood samples were also tested for H.pylori antibodies by Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).ELISA,RT-PCR and dd-PCR were also used to detect expression of CagA and VacA genes in plasma and tissue of 30 cases of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome(OSAHS) and 35 cases of plasma from healthy subjects.Result:The expression of H.pylori antibodies is tested in plasma:48 chronic tonsillitis patients(10.12±3.23)ng/ml, OSAS(9.87±2.43)ng/ml, healthy subjects(9.34±3.38) ng/ml.There was no significant difference between groups in the plasma.The VacA and CagA gene sequences were detected by RT-PCR:48 chronic tonsillitis patients VacA(27.1%),CagA(16.7%),VacA+CagA(16.7%);30 OSAHS,VacA(23.3%),CagA(20.0%),VacA+CagA(16.7%);all of which were also positive by dd-PCR,thus were considered H.pylori infected.Moreover,The expression of VacA and CagA increased in tissues testing by dd-PCR:48 chronic tonsillitis patients VacA(72.9%),CagA(52.1%),VacA+CagA(39.6%);30 OSAHS,VacA(33.3%),CagA(23.3%),VacA+CagA(16.7%).Conclusion:Our study supports the possible role of H.pylori in chronic tonsillitis.H.pylori maybe one of the risk factors of chronic tonsillitis.dd PCR had bettersensitivity and specificity compare to H.pylori serological and RT PCR.Feasible anti H.pylori treatment maybe used for H.pylori associated chronic tonsillitis.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the relationship between nuclear factor (NF)-κB and vitro nature degeneration model of endplate chondrocyte in rats. METHODS Rats endplate chondrocytes were isolated and cultured in vitro.Rebulated vitro natural degeneration model and cells were divided into control group (P2 cells group), naturally passaged group (P5 cells group) and NF-κB signaling pathway inhibition group (added Bay11-7082 when the passaged to P5 cells). The changes of cellular morphology were observed by inverted phase contrast microscope, the phenotype of endplate chondrocyte were identified by toluidine blue staining, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) were observed by alcian blue staining.Type Ⅱ collagen, sry related HMG box (SOX)-9, matrix metalloproteinase(MMP)13 and aggrecan genes were detected by real time-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) to verify the degeneration mode.NF-κB transcriptional activity was assessed by examining cytosolic phosphorylated IκBα and nuclear phosphorylated p65 levels by Western blot. RESULTS With chondrocytes passing, the cells lost the original morphology gradually.Alcian blue stains observed EMC decreased in naturally passaged group.The leave of Type Ⅱ collagen (P5/P2=0.182, P<0.01), aggrecan (P5/P2=0.287, P<0.01) and SOX-9 (P5/P2=0.488, P<0.01) were significantly reduced, MMP13 (P5/P2=1.324, P<0.05) significantly increased.Western blot analysis showed that in P5 cells nuclear phosphorylation p65 and cytosolic levels of phosphorylated IκBα increased and Bay11-7082 treatment attenuated increase in nuclear phosphorylation p65 and blocked acidinduced increase in cytosolic levels of phosphorylated IκBα.Moreover, the leave of Type Ⅱ collagen (Bay11-7082/P5=4.173, P<0.01), aggrecan (Bay11-7082/P5=2.732, P<0.05) and SOX-9 (Bay11-7082/P5=1.567, P<0.05) significantlyincreased, MMP13 (Bay11-7082/P5=0.611, P<0.05) significantly reduced in treatment group. CONCLUSION Inhibitor NF-κB signaling pathway plays an important role in the vitro degeneration of endplate cartilage.Reasonable regulation of NF-κB signaling pathway may be a new way to prevent Intervertebral disc degeneration.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To determine the clinical value of cerebrovascular hemodynamics analysis (CVA) on cerebral microcirculation. METHODS One hundred consecutive patients from neurological department of Peking University People's Hospital from April to October, 2015, with symptoms of dizziness, lightheadedness, headache etc., who were diagnosed with ischemic cerebrovascular disease with normal transcranial doppler (TCD) and abnormal CVA, were recruited in this study.Other medical conditions were excluded through clinic and imaging examinations among these patients.Patients were categorized into mild, moderate and severe subgroups based on the degrees of decreased blood flow velocity and/or volume, and received treatment accordingly.CVA parameters including the minimum flow velocity (Vmin), the minimum flow volume (Qmin), peripheral resistance (R), critical pressure (CCP) and dynamic resistance (CVR) etc.before and after treatment were compared statistically (t test). RESULTS Out of the 100 patients with abnormal CVA, 52 patients had bilateral changes and 48 patients had unilateral changes.The minimum flow velocity and the minimum flow volume anomalies were found in 100 and 92 cases, respectively.A total of 47, 32 and 21 patients had mild, moderate and severe abnormal changes, respectively.Out of the 63 patients who had follow-up CVA after treatment (drop-out 37 cases), there were 63 abnormal Vmin cases, 60 abnormal Qmin cases, 17 abnormal R cases, 18 abnormal CCP cases, 41 abnormal characteristic impedance (Zc) cases, 41 abnormal elastic wave velocity (Wv) cases, 23 abnormal vascular compliance (C) cases, all before treatment.After treatment, symptoms and Vmin synchronization improved in 61 cases (96.8%), Qmin improved in 58 cases (96.6%), R improved in 13 cases (76.5%), CCP improved in 10 cases (55.6%), Zc improved in 27 cases (65.8%), Wv improved in 25 cases (61.0%), C improved in 6 cases (26.1%). All improvements were statistically significant (P<0.05), with Vmin, Qmin, R and CCP showing most significant changes (P<0.000 1). The CVR treatment showed no significant before and after treatment (P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS CVA is an important method in assessing cerebral microcirculation perfusion, providing information on intracranial microvascular bed that cannot be detected by TCD.It is not only helpful for diagnosis, but also evaluable for monitoring clinical treatment of cerebral microcirculation disorder.CVA is also helpful in determining the location of cerebral circulation impairment by correlation with carotid ultrasound and TCD.

Abstract
UNLABELLED Breast cancer (BC) is the most widespread cause of cancer-related deaths in women. Many published studies have assessed the association between the glutathione S-transferase P1 (GSTP1) rs1695 polymorphism and BC risk. However, the effect of the GSTP1 rs1695 polymorphism on BC risk has remained controversial. Therefore, this meta-analysis was conducted to obtain a comprehensive estimation of this association. A total of 20,615 cases and 20,481 controls from thirty-six case-control trials were extracted from an online literature survey. The meta-analysis indicated that the GSTP1 rs1695 A>G polymorphism did not contribute to the susceptibility of BC when the overall population was considered. However, intriguingly, this polymorphism was significantly associated with increased risk of BC in Asian women [GG vs AA: odds ratio (OR) = 1.4, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.06-1.88, P = 0.02; AG vs AA: OR = 1.08, 95%CI = 1.00-1.16, P = 0.05; GG/AG vs AA: OR = 1.11, 95%CI = 1.04-1.19, P = 0.00]. Moreover, a subgroup analysis based on the source of control groups showed a marked increase in BC susceptibility in hospital-based control subjects (GG vs AA: OR = 1.28, 95%CI = 1.10-1.48, P= 0.00; GG vs AG/AA OR = 1.22, 95%CI = 1.06-1.41, P = 0.00; GG/AG vs AA: OR = 1.10, 95%CI = 1.02-1.18, P = 0.00). In conclusion, our study indicated that the GSTP1 rs1695 A>G polymorphism was correlated with elevated BC risk in Asian women. Our results must be validated with further research.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the role of mitochondrial apoptosis on pulmonary fibrosis in rats with severe scald injury. METHODS According to the random digital table, a total number of 32 Wistar rats were divided into 4 groups: sham burn (group A), burn group (group B), 12-week post burn recovery group (group C), and 12-week post burn recovery plus a second burn injury group (group D). In group A and group B, lung tissues were harvested on post burn day 4. After received first burn injury 12 weeks, the group C and group D received separately a second sham burn injury and burn injury. Lung tissues were harvested on post burn day 4 after the second burn injury. All tissues were examined for cells apoptosis by Terminal-deoxynucleoitidyl Transferase Mediated Nick End Labeling (TUNEL). Pulmonary fibrosis was assessed by Masson trichrome staining and Sirius red staining. The protein expression levels of cleaved Caspase-3, Bax and Bcl-2 were assessed by Western blot. RESULTS Both Masson trichrome staining and Sirius red staining showed obvious pulmonary fibrosis in group C and group D. The apoptosis rates of group B, C and D were significantly higher than that in group A ((15.50±3.30)%, (7.88±3.10)%, (15.88±3.23)% vs (2.10±1.07)%, all P<0.05). Compared to group A, cleaved Caspase-3 levels were significantly higher in group B, C and D ((0.59±0.11), (0.33±0.08), (0.73±0.13) vs (0.16±0.05), all P<0.05). The ratio of Bax/Bcl-2 in group B, C and D also increased significantly ((2.08±0.30), (0.83±0.09), (1.54±0.12) vs (0.64±0.05), all P<0.05). CONCLUSION Severe burn injury can induce pulmonary fibrosis and mitochondrial apoptosis may play an important role in the development of pulmonary fibrosis.
