Abstract
We demonstrate a multichannel fiber Bragg grating (MC-FBG) based distributed temperature field sensor with millimeter-order spatial resolution. The MC-FBG was designed by using the layer peeling (LP) algorithm with a tailored group delay characteristic and fabricated using seamless UV-inscription. We have achieved a 21-channel MC-FBG with 0.2 nm bandwidth of each channel and 0.5 nm channel gap. The sensor was tested by using a temperature field distribution. Experimental results show that the sensor had a spatial resolution of 3 mm and could measure a maximum temperature gradient of 7.85 °C/mm.

Abstract
Objective: To compare the trigger delay and work of trigger between neurally adjusted ventilatory assist (NAVA) and pressure support ventilation (PSV) in acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD) patients with intrinsic positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) during mechanical ventilation. Methods: AECOPD patients with intrinsic PEEP (PEEPi) greater than or equal to 3 cmH(2)O (1 cmH(2)O=0.098 kPa) were enrolled during invasive mechanical ventilation. Subjects were ventilated with low, medium and high pressure under either NAVA or PSV mode. Servo Tracker software continuously recorded the waveform of ventilator and respiratory mechanics indexes (including respiratory frequency, inspiratory tidal volume (Vti), minute ventilation volume (VE), peak airway pressure (PIP), inspiratory time), and calculated trigger and expiratory conversion delay time, work of trigger and total work of breath. Results: A total of 14 AECOPD patients were enrolled with the average PEEPi (4.3±1.3) cmH(2)O. PSV inspiratory trigger delay time was positively correlated with PEEPi (r=0.913, P<0.05). Compared with PSV, NAVA significantly decreased trigger delay time in low, medium and high pressure level groups [(48±17) ms vs. (167±86) ms, (63±65) ms vs. (247±240) ms, (63±49) ms vs. (342±192) ms,respectively all P<0.05]. Similar results were shown as to work of trigger [(0.92±0.36) μV∙s vs. (1.22±0.70) μV∙s, (1.08±0.51) μV∙s vs. (1.62±1.25) μV∙s, (1.20±0.96) μV∙s vs. (2.29±1.02) μV∙s, all P<0.05]. Trigger delay time increased according to the increase of pressure level in PSV mode. Conclusion: The presence of PEEPi in AECOPD patients leads to obvious trigger delay under PSV mode, which is positively correlated with PEEPi level. NAVA significantly reduces trigger delay time and work of trigger compared with PSV mode.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the clinical and genetic features of immunodeficiency, centromeric instability, and facial anomalies (ICF) syndrome with a case report and literature review. Methods: The clinical data and genetic test of a girl diagnosed with ICF syndrome in the Department of Nephrology and Immunology in Qingdao Women and Children's Hospital in December 2016 were extracted and analyzed. "ICF syndrome" "immunodeficiency, centromeric instability and facial anomalies syndrome" "ICF syndrome and DNMT3B" were used as key words to search Chinese databases and Pubmed for literature until March 2018, and the literature was reviewed. Results: A female patient aged 22 months old with ocular hypertelorism and low-set ears was admitted due to recurrent infection over one year. Laboratory tests showed humoral immune deficiency with IgG<1.34 g/L, IgA<0.060 g/L, and IgM<0.179 g/L, but normal cellular immunity (total T lymphocyte 0.503, hepler T lymphocyte 0.328, cytotoxic T lymphocyte 0.166, natural killer cell 0.184, total B lymphocyte 0.276). Whole-exome sequencing revealed a de novo heterozygous splice site mutation c.922-2A>G in intron 8, and a de novo heterozygous missense mutation c.2477G>A in exon 23 of DNMT3B gene. Chromosome karyotype analysis showed 46, XX, with 64 out of 100 karyotypes showing centromere instability in chromosome 1. Five papers were found which were all in English, with total of 29 patients. Forty-three mutations were reported, including 34 missense, 2 deletion, 1 insertion, 6 splice site mutations. Eleven patients had complex heterozygosis mutations. All patients had centromere instability, humoral immune deficiency and facial dysplasia which were mainly ocular hypertelorism and low-set ears. Most patients had language and motor development delay, and a few were combined with mental retardation. Conclusions: ICF syndrome is a rare autosomal recessive primary immunodeficiency with classic clinical triad manifestations. De novo mutation of DNMT3B gene is one of etiologies according to genetic test.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES We aimed to explore the association between serum UA and cellular aging markers. DESIGN The current cross-sectional analysis was based on data collected within a type 2 diabetes project. SETTINGS Serum uric acid (UA), which has both antioxidant and pro-oxidant properties, is thought to be involved in cellular aging processes. PARTICIPANTS There are 536 participants included in total, 65.3% of which are women. The average serum UA in women was 267.8 umol/l, lower than in men of 337.7 umol/l (P<0.001). MEASUREMENTS Serum UA, blood lipid profile, HbA1c, plasma glucose and insulin were determined. The peripheral blood leukocyte telomere length (LTL) and mitochondrial DNA copy number (mtDNAcn) were assessed using a real-time PCR assay. Logistic regressions were used to analyze the associations between serum UA and cellular aging markers. RESULTS In Spearman's correlation analysis, there were significantly negative correlations between serum UA and LTL in both women and men (r=-0.162, P=0.006; and r=-0.232, P=0.004, respectively). The logistic regression adjusted for age, BMI, WC, daily energy intake, HbA1c, TG, and LDL-C revealed that the ORs of shorter LTL comparing the extreme serum UA quintiles was 5.52 (95% CI 1.69-18.02; P for trend =0.025) in women and 6.49 (95% CI 1.38-30.45; P for trend =0.108) in men. Furthermore, the OR (95% CI) for shorter LTL per 1 SD increment in serum UA was 1.51(1.10-2.07) in women and 1.64(1.01-2.65) in men. In regard to mtDNAcn, the association between elevated serum UA and lower mtDNAcn only reached significance in men when comparing the second and fifth quintiles with reference quintile (OR=3.73(1.07-13.04) and 3.76(1.01-14.09) , separately, and P for trend=0.066). CONCLUSIONS Our results indicate a significant negative association between serum UA and peripheral blood cellular aging markers. Serum UA might play a role in promoting cellular aging.

Abstract
Both live attenuated (HA-L) and inactivated (HA-I) hepatitis A vaccine were licensed for routine use in China. Although phase 1, 2 and 3 clinical studies of both vaccines have been completed, further systematic evaluation of their immunogenicity and immunological persistence under phase 4 clinical studies in a wide range of conditions and involving large populations is necessary. A phase IV clinical trial (NCT02601040) was performed in 9000 participants over 18 months of age. Geometric mean concentrations (GMCs) and seroconversion rates (SRs) were compared at five time points during 3 years for 1800 individuals among them. The SRs of HA-L and HA-I were 98.08% (95% CI 95.59%-99.38%) and 99.64% (95% CI 98.93%-100.00%) respectively 28 days after administration of the first dose, and remained at 97.07% (95% CI 94.31%-98.73%) or above and 96.73% (95% CI 94.07%-98.42%) or above respectively during the following 3 years. The GMCs for both the HA-L and HA-I groups showed that both vaccines elicited high anti-HAV titres, considerably more than the threshold of protection needed against HAV infection in humans, and these titres were sustained. Hence, both HA-I and HA-L vaccines could provide an excellent long-term protective effect, and supported the routine use of both vaccines.

Abstract
The use of non-ideal reflective materials and low-precision manual manufacturing technologies is a fundamental technical obstacle blocking the positron emission tomography (PET) systems from achieving better performances. We propose to address that long-standing obstacle with advanced multilayer dielectric coating technologies. We designed an broad-band multilayer high-reflectivity (HR) film that can be coated directly on the surface of ultra-precision polished lutetiumyttrium oxyorthosilicate (LYSO) scintillators. The film consists of 48 layers of TiO2/SiO2/HfO2 which are deposited on LYSO scintillator crystal alternately using the electron beam evaporation method. The overall thickness of the HR film is about 3μm. The HR film combines 3 quarter wavelength reflective films, with the central wavelengths of 365 nm, 430 nm and 570 nm respectively, to match the emission spectrum of the LYSO scintillator. The optical experimental results show that the HR film achieved an excellent average reflectivity of 99.50% at 8° incident angle for incident lights with wavelengths between 360 to 620 nm. The average reflectivity at 60° incident angle is higher than 90%. The results of the hardness experiments and the adhesive strength experiments show that the HR film has an excellent mechanical strength. The HR coating technology developed in this study is very attractive because it allows to "print" high-performance reflectors on a scintillator directly with high-precision, instead of manually gluing reflective films on the scintillator. Thus, we conclude that the HR film provides a viable solution to the long standing technical bottleneck that limits the development of high-performance detectors for advanced PET imaging.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To analyze the clinical characteristics of patients with hematological tumor or disease before and after reversible posterior leukoen-cephalopathy syndrome (RPLS). METHODS Five patients were both from Peking University First Hospital Pediatric Hematology-oncology Department in the period from March 2012 to March 2017. The gender, age, BMI, underlying diseases, with or without renal damage, hypertension family history, clinical manifestations of convulsions, hemoglobin, and blood pressure, serum sodium levels before and after convulsion, and other data of the children with RPLS were retrospectively analyzed. In the meantime, we followed up the five patients for 6 months to 66 months, kept a watchful eye on their original condition and the recovery of symptoms and signs of the nervous system. The relevant literature was reviewed. RESULTS All of the subjects were females in school-age or pre-school age. The underlying diseases were malignant tumor associated with renal involvement or on one side of nephrectomy in 4 of these subjects, while the other one was refractory autoimmune hemolytic anemia. All of the subjects suffered from mild or moderate anemia. The day before RPLS occurred they received chemotherapy made up with cyclophosphamide, vincristine, and actinomycin-D, or the therapy with cyclosporin A and glucocorticoid. The clinical manifestations were afebrile convulsion after getting up in the mooring or in the afternoon. We observed elevation of blood pressure and cutting down of serum sodium compared with themselves. All of the cases recovered soon after management with diazepam, furosemide and amlodipine besylate. Four of them had a good outcomes and did not remain any sequela, while only one girl became childish in emotion and behavior, and then returned gradually to normal two years later. However, by long-term follow-up, the elevation of blood pressure was mainly reviewed in literature. CONCLUSION The patients attacked by RPLS, with hematology or oncology cases, could have the underlying disease of renal damage and anemia. Blood pressure elevation and serum sodium falling down at the same time may play an important role during the occurrence of RPLS. Remaining stable of blood pressure and electrolyte level together will possibly reduce or mitigate RPLS.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE FOV optimized and constrained undistorted single-shot imaging provides relatively high-resolution images with few artifacts. This study evaluated the image quality and value of FOV optimized and constrained undistorted single-shot DWI in the evaluation of normal pituitary glands and pituitary macroadenomas. MATERIALS AND METHODS Subjects with normal pituitary glands and patients with pituitary macroadenomas underwent FOV optimized and constrained undistorted single-shot and EPI DWI. Two neuroradiologists graded the image quality based on visualization of the pituitary stalk, pituitary gland, and pituitary macroadenoma. Intra- and interobserver agreements were assessed by κ statistics. Image quality and ADCs were compared between the 2 methods by the paired Wilcoxon signed rank test and t test. Differences in ADC between normal pituitary glands and macroadenomas were analyzed by the independent-samples t test. RESULTS Twenty-eight subjects with normal pituitary glands and 16 patients with macroadenomas were enrolled. Intra- and interobserver agreements for image-quality assessment were moderate to substantial. Relative to EPI DWI, FOV optimized and constrained undistorted single-shot DWI exhibited obviously better image quality both in normal pituitary glands and macroadenomas. There was no significant difference in ADCs of macroadenomas between the 2 methods. Macroadenomas with soft consistency (0.75 ± 0.14 × 10-3 mm2/s) had significantly lower mean ADC than normal pituitary glands (1.18 ± 0.19 × 10-3 mm2/s; P < .001). CONCLUSIONS FOV optimized and constrained undistorted single-shot DWI helps acquire high-resolution images of normal pituitary glands and pituitary macroadenomas with relatively few susceptibility artifacts in a clinically feasible scan time. This sequence might be helpful for evaluating the consistency of pituitary macroadenomas.

Abstract
Hypertension results from the interaction of genetic and acquired factors. IgG occurs in the form of different subclasses, of which the effector functions show significant variation. The detailed differences between the glycosylation profiles of the individual IgG subclasses may be lost in a profiling method for total IgG N-glycosylation. In this study, subclass-specific IgG Fc glycosylation profile was investigated in the four northwestern Chinese minority populations, namely, Uygur (UIG), Kazak (KZK), Kirgiz (KGZ), and Tajik (TJK), composed of 274 hypertensive patients and 356 healthy controls. The results showed that ten directly measured IgG N-glycan traits (i.e., IgG1G0F, IgG2G0F, IgG2G1FN, IgG2G1FS, IgG2G2S, IgG4G0F, IgG4G1FS, IgG4G1S, IgG4G2FS, and IgG4G2N) representing galactosylation and sialylation are significantly associated with hypertension, with IgG4 consistently showing weaker associations of its sialylation, across the four ethnic groups. We observed a modest improvement on the AUC of ROC curve when the IgG Fc N-glycan traits are added into the glycan-based model (difference between AUCs, 0.044, 95% CI: 0.016-0.072, P = 0.002). The AUC of the diagnostic model indicated that the subclass-specific IgG Fc N-glycan profiles provide more information reinforcing current models utilizing age, gender, BMI, and ethnicity, and demonstrate the potential of subclass-specific IgG Fc N-glycosylation profiles to serve as a biomarker for hypertension. Further research is however required to determine the additive value of subclass-specific IgG Fc N-glycosylation on top of biomarkers, which are currently used.

Abstract
Objective: Using clinical "big data" , to investigate the factors that affect the levels of thyroid hormones, and to explore the partitioning criteria for reference intervals (RI) of these hormones. Methods: An observation study was conducted. Information of 107 107 individuals undergoing routine physical examination in Peking Union Medical College Hospital from September 1(st,) 2013 to August 31(st,) 2016 was collected, thyroid hormone of these subjects were detected. To explore the test results distribution and differences of TSH, FT4 and FT3 by gender and age; according to the seasonal division standard of China Meteorological Administration, the study period was divided into four seasons, and the seasonal fluctuation on TSH was analyzed. To define the appropriate partition by gender, age and season according to significant difference analysis. Results: In male and female, the distributions of TSH were 1.779(0.578-4.758), 2.023(0.420-5.343)mU/L, respectively, and the level of TSH in female was higher than in male (Z=-37.600, P<0.001). The distributions of FT4 were 0.127(0.098-0.162), 0.117(0.091-0.151) μg/L, the distributions of FT3 were 3.33(2.47-3.74), 3.01(2.35-3.57)ng/L. And the level of FT4, FT3 in female were significantly lower than in male (Z=-94.000, -154.600, all P<0.001). Furthermore, males were divided into two groups by 65 years old and female were divided by 50 years old, respectively, and the distributions of TSH in male and female of older group were 1.818(0.528-5.240), 2.111(0.348-5.735)mU/L, in younger group were 1.778(0.582-4.696), 1.991(0.427-5.316)mU/L. The level of TSH in older group was significantly higher than in younger group (Z=-2.269, -10.400, all P<0.05), and the distribution of TSH in older group was much wider than in younger. The distribution of whole in spring, summer and autumn was 1.869( 0.510-5.042)mU/L, in winter was 1.978(0.527-5.250) mU/L, and the difference between them had statistical significance (Z=-15.000, P<0.001). Conclusions: Gender and age significantly affect the serum levels of TSH, FT4, and FT3, the distribution of TSH in female and elder group are wider than in male, and that of FT4, FT3 are lower.Seasons significantly affect the serum TSH level, the peak value is observed in winter. There are obviously differences between "rough" RIs and manufacture recommended RIs. Each laboratory should establish reference intervals for thyroid hormones on the premise of appropriate grouping.

Abstract
Sumoylation is a reversible post-translational modification that conjugates small peptide SUMO (small ubiquitin-like modifier) to a target protein. Global protein sumoylation and expression of components in sumoylation pathway were recently found to be altered in the process of organismal aging. In addition, key factors controlling cellular senescence are known to be sumoylated. This review will summarize current information on the function of sumoylation in cellular senescence and aging.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Although numerous multicentre studies have estimated the association between ozone exposure and mortality, there are currently no nationally representative multicentre studies of the ozone-mortality relationship in China. OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect on total (nonaccidental) and cause-specific mortality of short-term exposure to ambient ozone, and examine different exposure metrics. METHODS The effects of short-term exposure to ozone were analysed using various metrics (daily 1-h maximum, daily 8-h maximum and daily average) on total (nonaccidental) and cause-specific (circulatory and respiratory) mortality from 2013 to 2015 in 34 counties in 10 cities across China. We used distributed lag nonlinear models for estimating county-specific relative risk of mortality and combined the county-specific relative rates by conducting a random-effects meta-analysis. RESULTS In all-year analyses, a 10 μg m-3 increase in daily average, daily 1-h maximum and daily 8-h maximum ozone at lag02 corresponded to an increase of 0.6% (95% CI: 0.33, 0.88), 0.26% (95% CI: 0.12, 0.39) and 0.37% (95% CI: 0.2, 0.55) in total (nonaccidental) mortality, 0.66% (95% CI: 0.28, 1.04), 0.31% (95% CI: 0.11, 0.51) and 0.39% (95% CI: 0.16, 0.62) in circulatory mortality, and 0.57% (95% CI: -0.09, 1.23), 0.11% (95% CI: -0.22, 0.44) and 0.22% (95% CI: -0.28, 0.72) in respiratory mortality, respectively. These estimates had a different seasonal pattern by cause of death. In general, the seasonal patterns were consistent with the times of year when ozone concentrations are highest. CONCLUSIONS Our findings suggest that in China, the acute effects of ozone are more closely related to daily average exposure than any other metric.
