Abstract
This study focused on the application of functional magnetic resonance imaging and neuropsychology in diagnosis of vascular mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and the exploration of its relevant factors. The study enrolled 28 patients with vascular MCI in an observation group and 30 healthy individuals in a control group. All patients underwent magnetic resonance imaging. An automatic segmentation algorithm based on graph theory was adopted to process the images. Age, sex, disease course, Montreal Cognitive Assessment score, regional homogeneity, and amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation levels were recorded. There were no significant differences in age, gender, and course of disease between the observation group and the control group (P > 0.05). The level of regional homogeneity in the left posterior cerebellum in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group (P < 0.05).The regional homogeneity level of bilateral cingulate cortex was negatively correlated with Montreal Cognitive Assessment score (P < 0.05). The amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation of bilateral inferior parietal lobe, parietal lobe, and prefrontal lobe in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group, and the amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation of bilateral anterior cingulate gyrus, superior medial frontal gyrus, orbital frontal gyrus, right middle frontal gyrus, and right auxiliary motor area was higher than that in the control group (P < 0.05). Heart disease, such as myocardial infarction and atrial fibrillation, is a high risk factor for vascular MCI. Functional magnetic resonance imaging combined with an automatic segmentation algorithm can noninvasively observe the changes of a patient's brain tissue, which can be used in the recognition of vascular MCI. The global network attributes of patients with depression tend to be more randomized and have stronger resilience under targeted attacks.

Abstract
Hypoxia and stemness are important factors in tumor progression. We aimed to explore the ncRNA classifier associated with hypoxia and stemness in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD). We found that the prognosis of LUAD patients with high hypoxia and stemness index was worse than that of patients with low hypoxia and stemness index. RNA expression profiles of these two clusters were analyzed, and 6867 differentially expressed (DE) mRNAs were screened. Functional analysis showed that DE mRNAs were associated with cell cycle and DNA replication.
Protein–protein interaction network analysis revealed 20 hub genes, among which CENPF, BUB1, BUB1B, KIF23 and TTK had significant influence on prognosis. In addition, 807 DE lncRNAs and 243 DE miRNAs were identified. CeRNA network analysis indicated that AC079160.1-miR-539-5p-CENPF may be an important regulatory axis that potentially regulates the progression of LUAD. The expression of AC079160.1 and CENPF were positively correlated with hypoxia and stemness index, while miR-539-5p expression level was negatively correlated with hypoxia and stemness index. Overall, we identified CENPF, BUB1, BUB1B, KIF23 and TTK as potentially key genes involved in regulating hypoxia-induced tumor cell stemness, and found that AC079160.1-miR-539-5p-CENPF axis may be involved in regulating hypoxia induced tumor cell stemness in LUAD.

Abstract
Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is a critical clinical disease characterized by diffuse inflammation of lung parenchyma and refractory hypoxemia. Remifentanil has been reported to act as an anti-inflammatory antioxidant in a variety of diseases. However, whether Remifentanil has a protective effect in ARDS and its mechanism remains to be further studied. This study was designed to investigate the effects of Remifentanil on ARDS in neonate rats. In this study, we established the model of acute respiratory distress in neonate rats. To study the effects of Remifentanil on ARDS through a series of in vitro and in vivo experiments. Furthermore, the overexpression vector of recombinant tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinase 1 (TIMP1) was injected into the neonate rat before the operation to explore the effect of TIMP-1 overexpression on acute respiratory distress rats through the above experiments. Remifentanil reduced lung injury in rats with acute respiratory distress, reduced inflammation, oxidative stress and tissue cell apoptosis in rats with acute respiratory distress. Remifentanil inhibited the expression of TIMP-1 in rats with acute respiratory distress, and TIMP-1 overexpression inhibited the protective effect of Remifentanil on rats with acute respiratory distress. Remifentanil can reduce lung injury and inflammatory response in young mice with acute respiratory distress and play a protective role by down-regulating the expression of TIMP-1.

Abstract
Highly efficient amendments for controlling arsenic (As) pollution in soils are imperative to improve soil quality and enhance food production. In the present study, corn stalk biochar was functionalized with three kinds of layered double hydroxides (i.e., Mg-Al-LDH, Zn-Al-LDH, and Cu-Al-LDH) using a simple co-precipitation method. The synthesized LDH biochar composites (LDH@BCs) exhibited better adsorption capacity and affinity for As due to their enhanced anion exchange capacity and reactive surface hydroxyl groups identified by XRD, FTIR and XPS. Arsenic (As) bioavailability and leaching characteristics of spiked red and calcareous soils (150 mg As/kg) amended with or without LDH@BCs were investigated using soil column. The Zn-Al-LDH@BC decreased the As (V) migration and increased pak choi (Brassica chinensis L.) growth in both red and calcareous soil. These results indicated that LDH modified biochar is an effective way to overcome the shortfalls of unmodified biochar in mitigating the As contamination and provide a basis for further exploring the potential of biochar-based soil amendments for environmental remediation.

Abstract
Mature frataxin is essential for the assembly of iron-sulfur cluster proteins including a number of mitochondrial enzymes. Reduced levels of mature frataxin (81-20) in human subjects caused by the genetic disease Friedreich's ataxia results in decreased mitochondrial function, neurodegeneration, and cardiomyopathy. Numerous studies of mitochondrial dysfunction have been conducted using mouse models of frataxin deficiency. However, mouse frataxin that is reduced in these models, is assumed to be mature frataxin (78-207) by analogy with human mature frataxin (81-210). Using immunoaffinity purification coupled with liquid chromatography-high resolution tandem mass spectrometry, we have discovered that mature frataxin in mouse heart (77%), brain (86%), and liver (47%) is predominantly a 129-amino acid truncated mature frataxin (79-207) in which the N-terminal lysine residue has been lost. Mature mouse frataxin (78-207) only contributes 7-15% to the total frataxin protein present in mouse tissues. We have also found that truncated mature frataxin (79-207) is present primarily in the cytosol of mouse liver; whereas, frataxin (78-207) is primarily present in the mitochondria. These findings, which provide support for the role of extra-mitochondrial frataxin in the etiology of Friedreich's ataxia, also have important implications for studies of mitochondrial dysfunction conducted in mouse models of frataxin deficiency.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Ovarian cancer is the second fatal malignancy of the female reproductive system. Based on the cancer stem cell (CSC) theory, its poor prognosis of ovarian cancer attributed to tumor recurrence caused by CSCs. A variety of cell surface-specific markers have been employed to identify ovarian cancer stem cells (OCSCs). In this study, we attempted to explore the common feature in ovarian cancer stem cells sorted by multiple approaches. METHODS We collected the gene expression profiles of OCSCs were from 5 public cohorts and employed R software and Bioconductor packages to establish differently expressed genes (DEGs) between OCSCs and parental cells. We extracted the integrated DEGs by protein-protein interaction (PPI) network construction and explored potential treatment by the Cellminer database. RESULTS We identified and integrated the DEGs of OCSCs sorted by multiple isolation approaches. Besides, we identified OCSCs share characteristics in the lipid metabolism and extracellular matrix changes. Moreover, we obtained 16 co-expressed core genes, such as FOXQ1, MMP7, AQP5, RBM47, ETV4, NPW, SUSD2, SFRP2, IDO1, ANPEP, CXCR4, SCNN1A, SPP1 and IFI27 (upregulated) and SERPINE1, DUSP1, CD40, and IL6 (downregulated). Through correlation analysis, we screened out ten potential drugs to target the core genes. CONCLUSION Based on the comprehensive analysis of the genomic datasets with different sorting methods of OCSCs, we figured out the common driving genes to regulating OCSC and obtained ten new potential therapies for eliminating ovarian cancer stem cells. Hence, the findings of our study might have potential clinical significance.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT), administering fecal suspensions via a nasoduodenal tube, has achieved a promising effect in the treatment of intestinal graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) in some pilot studies. In this study, oral FMT capsules from unrelated donor were used for the first time in the treatment of intestinal GvHD. Patient concerns: A 31-year-old male who was diagnosed as "myelodysplastic syndromes with excess blasts II" (intermediate risk 2 of international prognostic scoring system) received human leukocyte antigen -matched sibling donor allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The patient developed diarrhea, vomiting, and bloody stool on 28 days after transplantation. DIAGNOSIS Intestinal acute GvHD was diagnosed clinically with histological confirmation by colonoscopy and pathological biopsy. INTERVENTIONS This patient was treated with first cycle of oral FMT capsules after failure to initial treatment of methylprednisolone (2 mg/kg/d) combined with recombinant human tumor necrosis factor-α receptorII: IgG Fc fusion protein (25 mg, biw). The symptoms of intestinal GvHD were relieved but recurred 11 days later. Second cycle of oral FMT capsules was carried out. OUTCOMES After 2 cycles of fecal bacteria transplantation, intestinal GvHD was gradually controlled and did not recur again during the 2-month follow-up. The diversity and structure of the intestinal flora after FMT was closer to that of healthy donors than that before. CONCLUSION Our case showed oral FMT capsules could be used as a treatment option for corticosteroid refractory intestinal GvHD. Further studies are warranted to assess the clinical efficacy and safety of oral FMT capsules in the treatment of intestinal GvHD. Abstract
Background: Gastric cancer is the fifth most prevalent malignancy worldwide, and the third leading cause of cancer-related death. Activating mutations of the JAK/STAT pathway on cellular biological process, inflammation, and immunity of cancer cells have made them promising biomarkers for drug exploitation and malignancy treatment. Specific functions of the STAT family in stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD) have not yet been systematically described. Methods: Bioinformatics web resources, including UALCAN, The Kaplan Meier plotter, and GSCALite, were used to identify immune checkpoint inhibitors and biomarkers among the STAT family in STAD. Results: STAT1, STAT4, STAT5A, and STAT6 were upregulated in STAD at both the mRNA and protein level. STAT1 and STAT5A may act as potential prognostic and prognostic biomarkers in STAD. Among all members of the STAT family, STAT5B (33%), STAT1 (27%), and STAT5A (18%) were the top three frequently mutated genes, and missense mutations were the most common types of genetic alteration. The STAT family has mainly been associated with the activity of several well-known cancer-associated pathways. Low expression of STAT5A and STAT5B were resistant to most of drugs or small molecules in the Genomics of drug Sensitivity in Cancer (GDSC). The functions and pathways of STAT5A in STAD were mainly associated with immune responses, chemokine signaling pathways, and cell adhesion molecules. In addition, we identified several STAT5A associated-targets (transcription factor, kinase, and miRNA targets). Immuno-infiltration analysis suggested a strong association between the STAT5A level, the abundance of immune cells, and the level of immune biomarkers. Conclusions: We identified the immune checkpoint inhibitor and biomarkers among the STAT family in STAD, thereby providing additional information about the significant role of the STAT family in STAD.

Abstract
Waardenburg Syndrome (WS) is a condition characterized by sensorineural deafness and pigment disturbances of the skin, hair and iris. By using the latest genomics technology, the WS-related gene mutations and corresponding mechanisms have been widely studied and reported. and the high genetic heterogeneity of the disease has also been explained. However, the SOX10 gene transcription and expression has still be unclear. In this study, we determined the phenotypic gene expression of WS patients in two Chinese WS families. More importantly, we identified two novel SOX10 mutations, c.482-487del (p.R161-M162del)and c.52G > T (p.E18X) in WSII for the first time in the Chinese population.

Abstract
In December 2019, the 2019 novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) caused by SARS-CoV-2 emerged in China and now has spread in many countries. Pregnant women are susceptible population of COVID-19 which are more likely to have complications and even progresse to severe illness. We report a case of neonatal COVID-19 infection in China with pharyngeal swabs tested positive by rRT-PCR assay 36 hours after birth. However, whether the case is a vertical transmission from mother to child remains to be confirmed.

Abstract
This first-attempt study deciphered combined characteristics of species evolution and bioelectricity generation of microbial community in microbial fuel cells (MFCs) supplemented with Camellia green tea (GT) extracts for biomass energy extraction. Prior studies indicated that polyphenols-rich extracts as effective redox mediators (RMs) could exhibit significant electrochemical activities to enhance power generation in MFCs. However, the supplementation of Camellia GT extract obtained at room temperature with significant redox capabilities into MFCs unexpectedly exhibited obvious inhibitory effect towards power generation. This systematic study indicated that the presence of antimicrobial components (especially catechins) in GT extract might significantly alter the distribution of microbial community, in particular a decrease of microbial diversity and evenness. For practical applications to different microbial systems, pre-screening criteria of selecting biocompatible RMs should not only consider their promising redox capabilities (abiotic), but also possible inhibitory potency (biotic) to receptor microbes. Although Camellia tea extract was well-characterized as GRAS energy drink, some contents (e.g., catechins) may still express inhibition towards organisms and further assessment upon biotoxicity may be inevitably required for practice.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the value of diffusion-weighted imaging for early response
detection of locally advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma with
concurrent chemoradiotherapy. Methods: Fifty-five (42 males, 13 females) patients with locally advanced esophageal
cancer who were undergoing chemoradiotherapy were recruited for this study.
Diffusion-weighted imaging was performed in all patients before therapy, at
the first weekend, the second weekend, and the end of chemoradiotherapy. The
rate of change in apparent diffusion coefficient value and the maximum
diameter between pretherapy and posttherapy were calculated. Results: Fifty-five patients with locally advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma
were classified as responders (40 cases) and nonresponders (15 cases).
Before chemoradiotherapy, the responders group had a significantly lower
apparent diffusion coefficient values than the nonresponders group
(t = −4.815, P = .000). At the 3 time
points after chemoradiotherapy (first weekend, second weekend, and the end
of chemoradiotherapy), there was no statistically significant difference in
apparent diffusion coefficient values between responders and nonresponders
(P > .05). The responders group had a significantly
higher rate of change in apparent diffusion coefficient value than the
nonresponders group at each time point (P < .05). At the
first weekend of chemoradiotherapy, the rate of change in the maximum
diameter was not significantly different in the 2 groups (t
= 0.928, P = .357). There was a negative correlation
between the tumor apparent diffusion coefficient value of pretherapy and the
reduction ratio of tumor maximum diameter at the end of chemoradiotherapy
(r = −0.592, P = .000). Conclusions: The change rate of apparent diffusion coefficient value by the end of the
first week after beginning chemoradiotherapy may be a sensitive indicator to

Abstract
In December 2019, the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) caused by the novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) emerged in China and now has spread in many countries. Pregnant women are a population susceptible to COVID-19 and are more likely to have complications and even progress to severe illness. We report a case of neonatal COVID-19 in China with pharyngeal swabs testing positive by real-time reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction assay 36 hours after birth. However, whether the case is a vertical transmission from mother to child remains to be confirmed.

Abstract
PURPOSE To explore the independent predictors of pathologic complete remission response (pCR) for Chinese patients with breast cancer (BC) after preoperative chemotherapy and to develop an individualized nomogram for predicting the probability of pCR. PATIENTS AND METHODS The clinicopathologic data of clinical stage I-III BC patients who received preoperative chemotherapy in Xijing Hospital were retrospectively analyzed. A total of 689 BC patients diagnosed in 2015-2017 were included in the training set to develop a nomogram. A separate cohort of 357 patients in the same center was regarded as a validation set for externally examining the performance of the model. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve and calibration curve were used to verify the predictive performance of the nomogram. RESULTS Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that independent predictors of pCR were menopause status at diagnosis, family history of BC, initial tumor size, estrogen receptor status, HER2/neu (human epidermal growth factor receptor 2) status, and Ki-67 expression. On the basis of these factors, a nomogram was developed using R software. Our nomogram had good discrimination in the training and validation set (area under the receiver operating characteristic curve, 0.762 and 0.768, respectively). The calibration curves further confirmed that the model performs well. CONCLUSION Menopause status and family history of BC were independent predictors of pCR after preoperative chemotherapy for the first time. The nomogram can accurately predict pCR rate in BC, which may provide some guidelines for breast surgery options and patient counseling.

Abstract
Embryonic stem cells can propagate indefinitely in a pluripotent state, able to differentiate into all types of specialized cells when restored to the embryo. What sustains their pluripotency during propagation remains unclear. Here, we show that core pluripotency factors OCT4 and SOX2 suppress chaperone-mediated autophagy (CMA), a selective form of autophagy, until the initiation of differentiation. Low CMA activity promotes embryonic stem cell self-renewal, whereas its up-regulation enhances differentiation. CMA degrades isocitrate dehydrogenases IDH1 and IDH2 and reduces levels of intracellular α-ketoglutarate, an obligatory cofactor for various histone and DNA demethylases involved in pluripotency. These findings suggest that CMA mediates the effect of core pluripotency factors on metabolism, shaping the epigenetic landscape of stem cells and governing the balance between self-renewal and differentiation.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The higher level of background parenchymal enhancement (BPE) at breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has drawn considerable attention in the early detection and prediction of breast cancer. It has been reported that there is a possible relationship between the level of BPE at breast MRI and the presence of breast cancer. This meta-analysis was performed to evaluate this relationship. METHODS Through a systematic literature search up to December 2019, 12 studies with 9541 females, 3870 of them were breast cancer. They were identified reporting relationships between breast cancer and BPE at breast MRI with its different categories (10 related to minimal or mild BPE, eight related to moderate BPE and nine related to high BPE). Odd ratio(OR) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) was calculated comparing breast cancer prevalence and BPE at breast MRI using dichotomous method with a random or fixed effect model. RESULTS Females with high (OR, 2.93; 95% CI, 1.24-6.88) and moderate (OR, 2.89; 95% CI, 1.51-5.52) BPE at breast MRI was related with high odds to breast cancer compared to control females. However, females with minimal or mild BPE at breast MRI (OR, 1.33; 95% CI, 0.56-3.17) did not have such risk on breast cancer. The impact of BPE on breast cancer may have a great influence as a tool for improving early detection and prevention of breast cancer. CONCLUSIONS Based on this meta-analysis, females with high or moderate BPE at breast MRI may have an independent relationship with the risk of breast cancer. This relationship forces us to recommend follow up with those with high or moderate BPE at breast MRI to avoid any complication.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The most common complication of oblique lumbar interbody fusion (OLIF) is endplate fracture/subsidence. The mechanics of endplate fracture in OLIF surgery are still unclear. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the biomechanical stability in patients undergoing OLIF surgery with stand-alone (SA) and bilateral pedicle screw fixation (BPSF) methods. METHODS A finite element model of the L1-L5 spinal unit was established and validated. Using the validated model technique, L4-L5 functional surgical models corresponding to the SA and BPSF methods were created. Simulations using the models were performed to investigate OLIF surgery. A 500-N compression force was applied to the superior surface of the model to represent the upper body weight, and a 7.5-Nm moment was applied to simulate the 6 movement directions of the lumbar spinal model: flexion and extension, right and left lateral bending, and right and left axial rotation. Finite element models were developed to compare the biomechanics of the SA and BPSF groups. RESULTS Compared with the range of motion of the intact lumbar model, that of the SA model was decreased by 79.6% in flexion, 54.5% in extension, 57.2% in lateral bending, and 50.0% in axial rotation. The BPSF model was decreased by 86.7% in flexion, 77.3% in extension, 76.2% in lateral bending, and 75.0% in axial rotation. Compared with the BPSF model, the maximum stresses of the L4 inferior endplate and L5 superior endplate were greatly increased in the SA model. The L4 inferior endplate stress was increased to 49.7 MPa in extension, and the L5 superior endplate stress was increased to 47.7 MPa in flexion, close to the yield stress of the lamellar bone (60 MPa). CONCLUSIONS OLIF surgery with BPSF could reduce the maximum stresses on the endplate, which might reduce the incidence of cage subsidence. OLIF surgery with the SA method produced more stress compared with BPSF, especially in extension and flexion, which might be a potential risk factor for cage subsidence.

Abstract
PURPOSE The purpose of this study was to assess the clinical value of conventional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) features for predicting the risk of axillary lymph node (ALN) metastasis in patients with breast cancer. METHODS This retrospective study involved 265 patients with breast cancer who underwent 3.0 T breast magnetic resonance imaging examinations prior to surgery and other treatment. Of these, 119 underwent IVIM examination. The features of MRI and IVIM and postoperative pathologic results were collected. The association of MRI features of breast cancer with ALN metastasis were determined by univariate and multivariate analyses. Comparison of IVIM parameters between breast cancer patients with and without ALN metastasis was performed using the Mann-Whitney U test. RESULTS Among the 265 patients, 144 (54.3%) had ALN metastasis, and 121 (45.7%) did not. The size and shape of the tumours, T2WI signal, inhomogeneous enhancement, washout intensity-time curves and the values of slow ADC, fast ADC and fraction of fast ADC parameters were significantly associated with ALN metastasis. The AUC of conventional MRI for diagnosing axillary lymph node metastasis was 0.722. The AUC of MRI combined with slow ADC, fast ADC and fraction of fast ADC parameters that were used to diagnose breast cancer with ALN metastasis were 0.814, 0.803 and 0.900, respectively. CONCLUSIONS The features of IVIM parameters and conventional MRI can be used to predict the ALN metastasis in patients with breast cancer. MRI combined with fraction of fast ADC showed higher diagnostic efficiency for ALN metastasis in breast cancer than MRI did.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the application value of apparent diffusion coefficient value in the pathological type, histologic grade, and presence of lymph node metastases of esophageal carcinoma. Materials and Methods: Eighty-six patients with pathologically confirmed esophageal carcinoma were divided into different groups according to pathological type, histological grade, and lymph node status. All patients underwent conventional magnetic resonance imaging and diffusion-weighted imaging scan, and apparent diffusion coefficient values of tumors were measured. Independent sample t test and 1-way variance were used to compare the difference of apparent diffusion coefficient value in different pathological types, histologic grades, and lymph node status. Correlation between the apparent diffusion coefficient value and the histologic grade was evaluated using Spearman rank correlation test. Receiver operating characteristic curve of apparent diffusion coefficient value was generated to evaluate the differential diagnostic efficiency of poorly and well/moderately differentiated esophageal carcinoma. Results: No significant difference was observed in apparent diffusion coefficient value between esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma and in patients between those with and without lymph node metastases (P > .05). The differences of apparent diffusion coefficient value were statistically significant between different histologic grades of esophageal carcinoma (P < .05). The apparent diffusion coefficient value was positively correlated with histologic grade (rs = 0.802). The apparent diffusion coefficient value ≤1.25 × 10−3 mm2/s as the cutoff value for diagnosis of poorly differentiated esophageal carcinoma with the sensitivity of 84.3%, and the specificity was 94.3%. Conclusions: The performance of apparent diffusion coefficient value was contributing to predict the histologic grade of esophageal carcinoma, which might increase lesions characterization before choosing the best therapeutic alternative. However, they do not correlate with pathological type and the presence of lymph node metastases of esophageal carcinoma.

Abstract
Carbon steel is strong primarily because of carbides with the most well-known one being θ-Fe3C type cementite. However, the formation mechanism of cementite remains unclear. In this study, a new metastable carbide formation mechanism was proposed as ω-Fe3C → ω′-Fe3C → θ′-Fe3C based on the transmission electron microscopy (TEM) observation. Results shown that in quenched high-carbon binary alloys, hexagonal ω-Fe3C fine particles are distributed in the martensite twinning boundary alone, while two metastable carbides (ω′ and θ′) coexist in the quenched pearlite. The proposed theory in combination with experimental results gives a new insight into the carbide formation mechanism in Fe-C martensite.
