Abstract
The synthesis of cyclic allylborates was achieved by the reaction of 1,3-dienes and B2 pin2 using a copper catalyst. Several 1,3-dienes were converted to the corresponding cyclic allylborates in moderate to high yields. The cyclic allylborate obtained could be used in several organic transformations such as allylation of electrophiles and Suzuki-Miyaura coupling.

Abstract
This review discusses recent advances in the chemistry of saturated boronic acids, boronates, and trifluoroborates. Applications of the title compounds in the design of boron-containing drugs are surveyed, with special emphasis on α-amino boronic derivatives. A general overview of saturated boronic compounds as modern tools to construct C(sp3 )-C and C(sp3 )-heteroatom bonds is given, including recent developments in the Suzuki-Miyaura and Chan-Lam cross-couplings, single-electron-transfer processes including metallo- and organocatalytic photoredox reactions, and transformations of boron "ate" complexes. Finally, an attempt to summarize the current state of the art in the synthesis of saturated boronic acids, boronates, and trifluoroborates is made, with a brief mention of the "classical" methods (transmetallation of organolithium/magnesium reagents with boron species, anti-Markovnikov hydroboration of alkenes, and the modification of alkenyl boron compounds) and a special focus on recent methodologies (boronation of alkyl (pseudo)halides, derivatives of carboxylic acids, alcohols, and primary amines, boronative C-H activation, novel approaches to alkene hydroboration, and 1,2-metallate-type rearrangements).

Abstract
An efficient copper-catalyzed regioselective C-H alkenylation and borylative alkylation of quinoline N-oxides with vinyl arenes in the presence of pinacol diborane has been developed. The reaction proceeds through the borylcupration of the vinyl arenes followed by nucleophilic attack of the resulting alkyl copper species to the quinoline N-oxides. Benzoquinone and KOt Bu were identified as the necessary additives at the second step of the reaction that are crucial for the success of the reaction. A wide range of C2-functionalizaed quinolines were obtained with good functional group tolerance, which may find utilities in pharmaceuticals and synthetic chemistry.

Abstract
During the past decade, many research groups have described catalytic methods for 1,2-carboboration, allowing access to structurally complex organoboronates from alkenes. Various transition metals, especially copper, palladium, and nickel, have been widely used in these reactions. This review summarizes advances in this field, with a special focus on the catalytic cycles involved in different metal-catalyzed carboboration reactions, as well as the regio- and stereochemical consequences of the underlying mechanisms. 1,2-Carboboration of other unsaturated systems, such as alkynes and allenes, are outside of the scope of this review.

Abstract
Copper-catalyzed stereoconvergent allylation of chiral sp3 -hybridized carbon nucleophiles with a racemic mixture of acyclic secondary allylic phosphates is reported. In the presence of a copper-catalyst complexed with chiral BenzP* ligand, tandem coupling reaction of vinyl arenes, bis(pinacolato)diboron, and racemic allylic phosphates provided β-chiral alkylboronates possessing (E)-alkenyl moiety through a direct stereoconvergent allylic coupling with concomitant generation of a C(sp3 )-stereogenic center. A range of vinyl (hetero)arenes and secondary allylic phosphates bearing 1°, 2°, 3° alkyl and phenyl α-substituents were suitable for the reaction, forming products with high enantioselectivities up to 95 % ee. Density functional theory calculations were conducted in detail to elucidate the origin of the observed regioselectivity of borylcupration and stereoconvergent (E)-olefin formation from racemic allylic phosphates.

Abstract
We report the development of palladium(0)-catalyzed syn-selective 1,2-carboboration and -silylation reactions of alkenes containing cleavable directing groups. With B2 pin2 or PhMe2 Si-Bpin as nucleophiles and aryl/alkenyl triflates as electrophiles, a broad range of mono-, di-, tri- and tetrasubstituted alkenes are compatible in these transformations. We further describe a directed dearomative 1,2-carboboration of electron-rich heteroarenes by employing this approach. Through use of a removable chiral directing group, we demonstrate the viability of achieving stereoinduction in Heck-type alkene 1,2-difunctionalization. This work introduces new avenues to access highly functionalized boronates and silanes with precise regio- and stereocontrol.

Abstract
A highly selective copper-catalyzed trifunctionalization of allenes has been established based on diborylation/cyanation with bis(pinacolato)diboron (B2 pin2 ) and N-cyano-N-phenyl-p-toluenesulfonamide (NCTS). The Cu-catalyzed trifunctionalization of terminal allenes is composed of three catalytic reactions (first borocupration, electrophilic cyanation, and second borocupration) that provide a densely functionalized product with regio-, chemo- and diastereoselectivity. Allene substrates have multiple reaction-sites, and the selectivities are determined by the suitable interactions (e.g., electronic and steric demands) between the catalyst and substrates. We employed DFT calculations to understand the cascade copper-catalyzed trifunctionalization of terminal allenes, providing densely-functionalized organic molecules with outstanding regio-, chemo- and diastereoselectivity in high yields. The selectivity challenges presented by cumulated π-systems are addressed by systematic computational studies; these give insight to the catalytic multiple-functionalization strategies and explain the high selectivities that we see for these reactions.

Abstract
An efficient method for the metal-free deaminative borylation of alkylamines, using bis(catecholato)diboron as the boron source, to directly synthesize various alkyl potassium trifluoroborate salts is introduced. The key to this high reactivity is the utilization of pyridinium salt activated alkylamines, with a catalytic amount of a bipyridine-type Lewis base as a promoter. This transformation shows good functional-group compatibility (e.g., it is unimpeded by the presence of a ketone, indole, internal alkene, or unactivated alkyl chloride) and can serve as a powerful synthetic tool for borylation of amine groups in complex compounds. Mechanistic experiments and computations suggest a mechanism in which the Lewis base activated B2 cat2 unit intercepts an alkyl radical generated by single-electron transfer (SET) from a boron-based reductant.
