Abstract
A Cu/Pd-catalyzed borylative coupling of allenes with allyl carbonates is reported. Synergistic Cu/Pd catalysis enables a divergent selectivity compared to Cu catalysis and allows for the regio-, diastereo-, and enantioselective formation of synthetically versatile chiral borylated 1,5-dienes featuring two adjacent tertiary stereocenters. DFT calculations support a closed inner-sphere SE2' transmetalation between the catalytic allyl copper and allyl palladium intermediates and point at the reductive elimination of the resulting bis(allyl)Pd intermediate as the regio- and diastereo-determining step.

Abstract
The first copper-catalyzed regiodivergent cyanoboration of internal allenes with B2 pin2 (bis(pinacolato)diboron) and NCTS (N-cyano-N-phenyl-p-toluenesulfonamide) derivatives is reported. The β,γ- and α,β-cyanoborylated products were synthesized with high regio- and stereo-selectivity. Computational studies revealed that nucleophilic addition of allylcopper or related intermediates on cyanation reagent is the regio- and stereo-determining step, while transmetalation with B2 pin2 is the rate-determining step. The nucleophilic addition step proceeds via inner-sphere mechanism in the CuI /P(o-tol)3 and CuI /Xantphos (P(o-tol)3 =tris(o-methylphenyl)phosphine, Xantphos=4,5-bis(diphenylphosphino)-9,9-dimethylxanthene) catalytic systems and via outer-sphere mechanism in the CuII /Xantphos catalytic system, respectively.

Abstract
Iodide-bound ruthenium-JOSIPHOS complexes catalyze the redox-neutral C-C coupling of primary alcohols with methylallene (1,2-butadiene) or 1,3-butadiene to form products of anti-crotylation with good to excellent levels of diastereo- and enantioselectivity. Distinct from other methods, direct crotylation of primary alcohols in the presence of unprotected secondary alcohols is possible, enabling generation of spirastrellolide B (C9-C15) and leucascandrolide A (C9-C15) substructures in significantly fewer steps than previously possible.

Abstract
Allylic gem-dichlorides are shown to be efficient substrates for catalytic asymmetric allylboration of alkynes. The method employs a chiral NHC-Cu catalyst capable of generating in a single step chiral skipped dienes bearing a Z-alkenyl chloride, a trisubstituted E-alkenyl boronate and a bis-allylic stereocenter with excellent levels of chemo-, regio- enantio- and diastereoselectivity. This high degree of functionalization makes these products versatile building blocks as illustrated with the synthesis of several optically active compounds. DFT calculations support the key presence of a metal cation bridge ligand-substrate interaction and account for the stereoselectivity outcome.

Abstract
The use of allenes and 1,3-dienes as chiral allylmetal pronucleophiles in intermolecular catalytic enantioselective reductive additions to aldehydes, ketones, imines, carbon dioxide and other C=X electrophiles is exhaustively catalogued together with redox-neutral hydrogen auto-transfer processes. Coverage is limited to processes that result in both C-H and C-C bond formation. The use of alkynes as latent allylmetal pronucleophiles and multicomponent C=X allylations involving allenes and dienes is not covered. As illustrated in this review, the ability of allenes and 1,3-dienes to serve as tractable non-metallic pronucleophiles has evoked many useful transformations that have no counterpart in traditional allylmetal chemistry.

Abstract
The copper-catalyzed highly selective protoboration of CF3 -containing conjugated diene with proton source and B2 Pin2 has been developed. This chemistry could suppress the well-known defluorination and provide borated reagents with an intact CF3 -group. Further studies indicated that the functional group tolerance of this chemistry is very well, and the products could be used as versatile precursors for different types of transformations. Importantly, using chiral diphosphine ligand, we have developed the first example for using such starting material to synthesis allylic boron-reagents which bearing a CF3 -containing chiral center. Notably, the reaction mechanism was intensively studied by DFT calculations, which could reveal the reason that defluorination was inhibited.

Abstract
Quinazolinones are common substructures in molecules of medicinal importance. We report an enantioselective copper-catalyzed borylative cyclization for the assembly of privileged pyrroloquinazolinone motifs. The reaction proceeds with high enantio- and diastereocontrol, and can deliver products containing quaternary stereocenters. The utility of the products is demonstrated through further manipulations.

Abstract
A widely applicable, practical, and scalable strategy for efficient and enantioselective synthesis of β,γ-unsaturated ketones that contain an α-stereogenic center is disclosed. Accordingly, aryl, heteroaryl, alkynyl, alkenyl, allyl, or alkyl ketones that contain an α-stereogenic carbon with an alkyl, an aryl, a benzyloxy, or a siloxy moiety can be generated from readily available starting materials and by the use of commercially available chiral ligands in 52-96% yield and 93:7 to >99:1 enantiomeric ratio. To develop the new method, conditions were identified so that high enantioselectivity would be attained and the resulting α-substituted NH-ketimines, wherein there is strong C═N → B(pin) coordination, would not epimerize before conversion to the derived ketone by hydrolysis. It is demonstrated that the ketone products can be converted to an assortment of homoallylic tertiary alcohols in 70-96% yield and 92:8 to >98:2 dr-in either diastereomeric form-by reactions with alkyl-, aryl-, heteroaryl-, allyl-, vinyl-, alkynyl-, or propargyl-metal reagents. The utility of the approach is highlighted through transformations that furnish other desirable derivatives and a concise synthesis route affording more than a gram of a major fragment of anti-HIV agents rubriflordilactones A and B and a specific stereoisomeric analogue.
