Abstract
2D hybrid organic-inorganic halide perovskites emerge as a new class of 2D semiconductors with the potential to combine excellent optoelectronic properties with symmetry-enabled properties such as ferroelectricity. Although many lead-based ferroelectric 2D halide perovskites are reported, there is yet to be a conclusive report of ferroelectricity in tin-based 2D perovskites. Here, the structures and properties of a new series of 2D Dion-Jacobson (DJ) Sn perovskites: (4AMP)SnI4, (4AMP)(MA)Sn2I7, and (4AMP)(FA)Sn2I7 (4AMP = 4-(aminomethyl)piperidinium, MA = methylammonium, and FA = formamidinium), are reported. Structural characterization reveals that (4AMP)SnI4 is polar with in-plane spontaneous polarization whereas (4AMP)(MA)Sn2I7 and (4AMP)(FA)Sn2I7 are centrosymmetric. Further, (4AMP)SnI4 displays second harmonic generation (SHG) and polarization-electric field hysteresis measurements confirm it is ferroelectric with a spontaneous polarization of 10.0 µC cm-2 at room temperature. (4AMP)SnI4 transitions into a centrosymmetric structure above 367 K. As the first direct experimental observation of the spontaneous ferroelectric polarization of a Sn-based 2D hybrid perovskite, this work opens up environmentally friendly 2D tin halide perovskites for ferroelectricity and other physical property studies.

Abstract
The advancement of electron transport layer (ETL)-free perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is crucial for the commercialization of PSCs. At present, the slow electron extraction and significant carrier recombination, related to the energy-level alignment at the FTO/perovskite interface, restrict the performance of ETL-free PSCs. The facile modification of bottom electrodes is pivotal for tackling these issues and stimulating the photovoltaic potential of perovskite. Herein, a cost-competitive and neoteric 1-hydroxyethyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride, [HOEtMIM]Cl, ionic liquid is employed to modify the surface of rigid and flexible electrodes, and thus enable an energetically well-aligned interface with perovskite layer via the electric dipole effects. The resulting barrier-free FTO/perovskite contact can tremendously ameliorate the electron extraction and collection, with mitigated nonradiative interfacial carrier recombination loss. Additionally, the lone pair on the nitrogen of the imidazole group passivates the surface defects of perovskite layers, and the chloride anion plays a role in the crystallinity improvement of perovskite. Leveraged by the [HOEtMIM]Cl modification, the resulting ETL-free rigid and flexible devices deliver an outstanding power conversion efficiency of 19.60 % and 15.57 %, along with the ameliorated hysteresis and long-term tenability. This finding highlights the drastic potential of the engineered [HOEtMIM]Cl in manufacturing stable and high-performance ETL-free PSCs for their scaled-up production.

Abstract
Two-dimensional (2D) ferroelectric semiconductors, such as α-In2Se3 with switchable spontaneous polarization and superior optoelectronic properties, exhibit large potential for functional device applications. The electric transport properties and device performance of 2D α-In2Se3 are strongly sensitive to the ferroelectric domain structures and polarization textures, but they are rarely explored at the atomic scale. Herein, by a combination of first-principles calculations and a developed domain switching theory, we report the domain nucleation kinetics and polarization-texture dependent electronic properties in α-In2Se3 ferroelectrics. Our calculated results reveal that the reversed domains characterized by armchair boundaries tend to form triangular or stripped shape. The energy barrier for propagating domain boundaries is ∼1.42 eV and can be reduced by loading external electric field, which is responsible for driving the evolution of domain structures. Moreover, the domain switching leads to notable changes in the band gap and carrier spatial distribution of α-In2Se3 monolayer, resulting in higher electric resistance of multi-polarization domain structures than that of single-polarization state. The domain structures of multilayer α-In2Se3 follow a layer-by-layer switching mechanism, which causes the transition of electronic structures from self-doped p-n junctions to type-II semiconductor homojunctions. This study not only provides an in-depth insight into the domain switching mechanisms of α-In2Se3 but also opens up the possibility to tailor their electronic and transport properties.

Abstract
Despite the great progress of flexible perovskite solar cells (f-PSCs), it still faces several challenges during the homogeneous fabrication of high-quality perovskite thin films, and overcoming the insufficient exciton dissociation. To the ends, we rationally design the ferroelectric two-dimensional (2D) perovskite based on pyridine heterocyclic ring as the organic interlayer. We uncover that incorporation of the ferroelectric 2D material into 3D perovskite induces an increased built-in electric field (BEF), which enhances the exciton dissociation efficiency in the device. Moreover, the 2D seeds could assist the 3D crystallization by forming more homogeneous and highly-oriented perovskite crystals. As a result, an impressive power conversion efficiency (PCE) over 23 % has been achieved by the f-PSCs with outstanding ambient stability. Moreover, the piezo/ferroelectric 2D perovskite intrigues a decreased hole transport barriers at the ITO/perovskite interface under tensile stress, which opens new possibilities for developing highly-efficient f-PSCs.

Abstract
Perovskite materials have demonstrated many excellent properties in next-generation photovoltaic devices, but the intrinsic defects and the quality of perovskite film still limit the performance and stability of PSCs. Here, 1,3-dimethylimidazolium iodide (DMII) ionic liquid was employed as an additive to passivate the various defects and produce the high-quality perovskite film with enlarged grain sizes. DMII could act as an "ionic stabilizer" for passivating the point defects including the vacancies defects of organic cations and halogen anions of perovskite. At the same time, the extra problematic PbI2 on surfaces and at grain boundaries of the perovskite film could also be reacted by DMII, leading to the reduction of recombination centers and trap states. On the other hand, the DMII ionic liquid with a "Ostwald ripening effect" could retard the crystallization process of perovskite crystals and yield better film quality with higher crystallinity, smoother morphology and larger grains. As a result, the optimal device achieved a champion power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 20.4 %. Particularly, the modified devices demonstrated a significant elevation in open-circuit voltage from 1.03 to 1.10 V. The hydrophobicity of perovskite films modified by DMII was enhanced and the un-encapsulated DMII devices retained 91 % of their initial PCE after aging 60 days under 15±5 % relative humidity.

Abstract
Hybrid organic-inorganic perovskite (HOIP) have received tremendous scientific attention because of the phase transition and photovoltaic properties. However, achieving the special perovskite structure with both two-step dielectric response and luminescence characteristics is rarely reported. Herein, we report an organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite, [(BA)2 ⋅ PbI4 ] (Compound 1, BA=n-butylamine) by introducing flexible organic cations (HBA+ ), with direct mid-band gap as 2.28 eV. Interestingly, this material exhibits two-step reversible dielectric response at 350 K and 460 K (in heating process), respectively. Besides, the photoluminescence was found: it emits charming green light under 365 nm lamp (Photoluminescence quantum yield is 9.52 %). The outstanding two-step dielectric response and luminescence characteristics of this compound might pave the way for the application of dielectric and ferroelectric functional materials in temperature sensors and mechanical switches.

Abstract
Enhancing the built-in electric field to promote charge dynamitic process is of great significance to boost the performance of the non-fullerene organic solar cells (OSCs), which has rarely been concerned. In this work, we introduced a cheap ferroelectric polymer as an additive into the active layers of non-fullerene OSCs to improve the device performance. An additional and permanent electrical field was produced by the polarization of the ferroelectric dipoles, which can substantially enhance the built-in electric field. The promoted exciton separation, significantly accelerated charge transport, reduced the charge recombination, as well as the optimized film morphology were observed in the device, leading to a significantly improved performance of the PVDF-modified OSCs with various active layers, such as PM6 : Y6, PM6 : BTP-eC9, PM6 : IT-4F and PTB7-Th : Y6. Especially, a record efficiency of 17.72 % for PM6 : Y6-based OSC and an outstanding efficiency of 18.17 % for PM6 : BTP-eC9-based OSC were achieved.
