Abstract
Herein we report that the reaction of the low-valent aluminum(I) species [Cp*Al]4 (Cp* = pentamethylcyclopentadienyl) with CO2 exhibits complete cleavages of the C═O bonds. The deoxygenating reduction reaction of [Cp*Al]4 with CO2 at 120 °C afforded [(Cp*)3Al3O2C(CO)]2 (1), which featured two stacked (Al3O2C)2 units and two C═C═O ketene moieties. Moreover, the isoelectronic analogues of diimine and isothiocyanate with CO2 were also investigated, and the reactions of [Cp*Al]4 with Dipp*-N═C═N-Dipp* and Dipp-C═N═S [Dipp* = 2,6-bis(diphenylmethyl)-4-tert-butylphenyl; Dipp = 2,6-diisopropylphenyl] afforded dialuminylimine (2) and tetrameric [Cp*AlS]4 (3), respectively.

Abstract
Reaction of the 1,2-disilylene, [{ArC(NDip)2 }Si]2 1 (Dip=2,6-diisopropylphenyl, Ar=4-C6 H4 But ), with CO proceeds via insertion of CO into one Si-N bond, and Si-Si bond cleavage, to cleanly give the bis(silylene), {ArC(NDip)2 }Si(:)O C S i ( : ) ( N D i p ) 2 C ‾ Ar 2, under ambient conditions. The reaction can be partially reversed when solutions of 2 are subjected to UV irradiation. The five-membered heterocyclic fragment of 2 represents the first silicon analogue of an "abnormal" N-heterocyclic carbene (aNHC), a view which is substantiated by a computational analysis of the compound. Reaction of 2 with [Mo(CO)6 ] under UV light affords the chelate complex, [Mo(CO)4 (κ2 -Si,Si-2)] 3, while reaction with [Fe(CO)5 ] gives the unusual silyleneyl bridged complex, [{Fe2 (CO)6 }{μ-Si[(NDip)2 CAr]}2 ] 4. The same coordination complexes can be accessed by reaction of 1 with [Mo(CO)6 ] or [Fe(CO)5 ] under UV light. As is the case for aNHCs, d-block metal complexes of bis(silylene) 2 could prove useful as bespoke catalysts for organic transformations.

Abstract
The reactivity of the 1,4-substituted bis(silylenyl)terphenylene 1, 1,4-[ortho-(LSi)C6 H4 ]2 C6 H4 , (L=RC(NtBu)2 , R=Ph, Mes) towards CS2 is reported. It results in a dearomatization of the phenylene ring, affording the 1,3-substituted cyclohexadiene derivative 2. According to DFT calculations, a transient silene containing a Si=C bond capable of π(C=C) addition at the aromatic phenylene ring is a key intermediate. In contrast, addition of CS2 to the biphenyl-substituted mono-silylene ortho-(LSi)C6 H4 -C6 H5 3 leaves the aromatic π-system intact and forms, in a [1+2] cycloaddition reaction, the corresponding thiasilirane 4 with a three-membered SiSC ring. Further experimental studies led to the isolation of the novel mesoionic five-membered Si2 S2 C heterocycle 6, which reacts with CS2 under C-C bond formation. All isolated new compounds were fully characterized and their molecular structures determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses.

Abstract
This work describes the synthesis and coordination behavior of a new mixed-donor ligand PhC(NtBu)2 SiC6 H4 PPh2 (1) containing both silylene and phosphine donor sites. Ligand 1 was synthesized from a reaction of ortho-lithiated diphenylphosphinobenzene (LiC6 H4 PPh2 ) with chlorosilylene (PhC(NtBu)2 SiCl). Treatment of 1 with Se and GeCl2 resulted in SiIV compounds 2 and 3 by selective oxidation of the silylene donor. This strong σ-donor ligand induces dissociation of CuCl and PhBCl2 leading to formation of ionic complexes 4 and 5 respectively. The reaction of 1 with ZnCl2 and AlCl3 resulted in the formation of chelate complexes 5 and 7, respectively, while treatment with EtAlCl2 and GaCl3 forms monodentate complexes 8 and 9. X-ray analysis of 4 showed that the copper is in the spiro center of the two five-membered rings. Moreover, the copper(I)chloride has not been oxidized but dissociates to Cu+ and [CuCl2 ]- . All the compounds are well characterized by mass spectrometry, elemental analysis, NMR spectroscopy, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies.

Abstract
The reaction of bis(silylenyl)-substituted ferrocene 1 with two molar equivalents of BPh3 yields the corresponding bis(silylene-borane) Lewis adduct 2. The latter is capable to activate CO2 to furnish the borane-stabilized bis(silanone) 3 through mono-oxygenation of the dative SiII →B silicon centers under release of CO. Removal of BPh3 from 3 with PMe3 affords the corresponding 1,3,2,4-cyclodisiloxane and the Me3 P-BPh3 adduct. All isolated new compounds were characterized and their molecular structures were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses.
