Abstract
In this study, a homogeneous acid-catalyzed reaction of a series of benzaldehydes, benzylamines, and Meldrum's acid was presented, allowing the novel one-pot and multicomponent synthesis of hexahydroquinolines with high stereoselectivity. The current strategy has advantages including high regioselectivity, good efficiency, reasonable diversity, utilization of an inexpensive and safe catalyst, and easy purification of products by simple recrystallization. The current reaction utilizes 2 equiv of Meldrum's acid, 3 equiv of benzaldehyde derivatives, and one equiv of amine derivatives to yield (4'S,5'S,7'S)-1'-benzyl-2,2-dimethyl-4',5',7'-triphenyl-3',4',7',8'-tetrahydro-1'H-spiro[[1,3]dioxane-5,6'-quinoline]-2',4,6(5'H)-trione derivatives.

Abstract
Heterocyclic scaffolds are commonly found in numerous biologically active molecules, therapeutic agents, and agrochemicals. To probe chemical space around heterocycles, many powerful molecular editing strategies have been devised. Versatile C-H functionalization strategies allow for peripheral modifications of heterocyclic motifs, often being specific and taking place at multiple sites. The past few years have seen the quick emergence of exciting "single-atom skeletal editing" strategies, through one-atom deletion or addition, enabling ring contraction/expansion and structural diversification, as well as scaffold hopping. The construction of heterocycles via deconstruction of simple heterocycles is unknown. Herein, we disclose a new molecular editing method which we name the skeletal recasting strategy. Specifically, by tapping on the 1,3-dipolar property of azoalkenes, we recast simple pyrroles to fully substituted pyrroles, through a simple phosphoric acid-promoted one-pot reaction consisting of dearomative deconstruction and rearomative reconstruction steps. The reaction allows for easy access to synthetically challenging tetra-substituted pyrroles which are otherwise difficult to synthesize. Furthermore, we construct N-N axial chirality on our pyrrole products, as well as accomplish a facile synthesis of the anticancer drug, Sutent. The potential application of this method to other heterocycles has also been demonstrated.

Abstract
Pyrroles, furans, and thiophenes are important structural motifs in biologically active substances, pharmaceuticals and functional materials. In this paper, we disclose an efficient synthetic strategy for the rapid construction of multisubstituted pyrroles, furans, and thiophenes via NXS mediated desulfonylative/dehydrogenative cyclization of vinylidenecyclopropanes (VDCPs). The advantages of this method include wide substrate range, high efficiency and synthetic usefulness of the heterocyclic products under metal-free and mild conditions. The derivatization of pyrrole products and the preparation of functional molecules successfully demonstrated the synthetic potential of the products as platform molecules. The reaction mechanism has been investigated on the basis of control experiments and DFT calculations.

Abstract
A novel and highly stereoselective acyclic 1,3-difunctionalization of vinyl metal carbene species has been developed via Rh(II)/chiral phosphoric acid co-catalyzed three-component reactions of vinyldiazoacetates with alcohols and imines. This innovative approach features excellent regio-, diastereo-, and enantioselectivities, demonstrating a broad scope and functional group compatibility. Notably, this is the first example of three-component asymmetric acyclic 1,3-difunctionalization with in situ-formed vinyl metal carbenes.

Abstract
The trapping of the elusive vinylogous position of a vinyl carbene with an aliphatic C(sp3 )-H bond has been achieved for the first time during a silver-catalyzed carbene/alkyne metathesis (CAM) process. A Tpx -containing silver complex first promotes the generation of a donor-acceptor silver carbene which triggers CAM, generating a subsequent donor-donor vinyl silver carbene species, which then undergoes a selective vinylogous C(sp3 )-H bond insertion, leading to the synthesis of a new family of benzoazepines. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations unveil the reaction mechanism, which allows proposing that the C-H bond insertion reaction takes place in a stepwise manner, with the hydrogen shift being the rate determining step.

Abstract
An efficient, tandem one-pot approach to synthesize multisubstituted 2-acylpyrroles from readily prepared N-tosyl triazoles and 2-hydroxymethylallyl carbonates is reported. The reaction proceeds via Rh(II)-catalyzed O-H insertion, [3,3]-sigmatropic rearrangement, Pd(0)-catalyzed oxidative addition, intramolecular cyclization, DBU-promoted E1cB elimination, double bond isomerization, and aromatization, enabling the disconnection and formation of multiple bonds in one reactor. The approach represents a highly regioselective way to access di-, tri-, and tetra-substituted NH pyrroles with high efficiency.

Abstract
A new metal-free synthesis of pyrrole from allyl ketone and amine has been established. The reaction proceeds via an thiolative activation of the C-C double bond with dimethyl(methylthio)sulfonium trifluoromethanesulfonate, followed by a nucleophilic ring-opening addition of primary amine to the generated episulfonium intermediate, and then an internal condensation and aromatization. This mild procedure provides a novel strategy to the construction of substituted pyrroles through a formal [4 + 1] cycloaddition reaction.

Abstract
Densely substituted dihydropyrroles could be synthesized with excellent diastereoselectivity via 5-exo-trig cascade radical cyclization to alkynyl vinylogous carbamates. N-Alkyl/acyl protected alkynyl vinylogous carbamates upon radical cyclization using thiophenol gave substituted pyrroles as against dihydropyrroles, which were formed with N-sulfonyl protecting groups. This enabled a rare example wherein both dihydropyrrole and pyrrole rings are assembled in the same reaction. This strategy could be used for the synthesis of an unprecedented adjacent polyheterocyclic system having a furan-thiophene-pyrrole motif. When vinylogous carbamate is embedded in the isoindole moiety, a pyridoisoindole derivative was formed with excellent diastereoselectivity, instead of the expected pyrroloisoindole product.

Abstract
Multisubstituted pyrroles are important fragments that appear in many bioactive small molecule scaffolds. Efficient synthesis of multisubstituted pyrroles with different substituents from easily accessible starting materials is challenging. Herein, we describe a metal-free method for the preparation of pentasubstituted pyrroles and hexasubstituted pyrrolines with different substituents and a free amino group by a base-promoted cascade addition-cyclization of propargylamides or allenamides with trimethylsilyl cyanide. This method would complement previous methods and support expansion of the toolbox for the synthesis of valuable, but previously inaccessible, highly substituted pyrroles and pyrrolines. Mechanistic studies to elucidate the reaction pathway have been conducted.

Abstract
The first base-mediated intermolecular cyclization of arylaldehydes and terminal arylacetylenes for the synthesis of a wide range of pyrroles in a single step has been described. The developed methodology used commercially available starting materials and tolerated a broad range of functional groups affording 2,3,5-triaryl-substituted-1H-pyrroles with good yields (up to 92% yield) under mild conditions. The possible mechanism was also discussed.
