Abstract
Ultraviolet (UV) light plays a crucial role in various applications, but currently, the efficiency of generating artificial UV light is low. The visible-to-ultraviolet (Vis-to-UV) system based on the triplet-triplet annihilation upconversion (TTA-UC) mechanism can be a viable solution. Metal-free multiple resonance thermally activated delayed fluorescence (MR-TADF) materials are ideal photosensitizers (PSs) apart from the drawback of high photoluminescence quantum yields (PLQYs). Herein, we systematically investigated the impact of the heavy-atom effect (HAE) on the MR-TADF sensitizers. BNCzBr was then synthesized by incorporating a bromine atom into the skeleton of the precursor BNCz. Impressively, the internal HAE (iHAE) leads to a significantly decreased PLQY and a remarkably increased intersystem crossing quantum yield (ΦISC). Consequently, a higher upconversion quantum efficiency of 12.5% was realized. While the external HAE (eHAE) harms the UC performance. This work guides the further development of MR-TADF sensitizers for high-performance Vis-to-UV TTA-UC systems.

Abstract
Excessive fluoride presence in water poses significant environmental and public health risks, necessitating the development of effective remediation techniques. Conventional aluminum-based adsorbents face inherent limitations such as limited pH range and low adsorption capacity. To overcome these challenges, we present a facile solvent-thermal method for synthesizing a carbon-doped aluminum-based adsorbent (CDAA). Extensive characterization of CDAA reveals remarkable features including substantial carbon-containing groups, unsaturated aluminum sites, and a high pH at point of zero charge (pHpzc). CDAA demonstrates superior efficiency and selectivity in removing fluoride contaminants, surpassing other adsorbents. It exhibits exceptional adaptability across a broad pH spectrum from 3 to 12, with a maximum adsorption capacity of 637.4 mg/g, more than 110 times higher than alumina. The applicability of the Langmuir isotherm and pseudo-second-order models effectively supports these findings. Notably, CDAA exhibits rapid kinetics, achieving near-equilibrium within just 5 min. Comprehensive analyses utilizing Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) offer detailed insights into the mechanisms involving electrostatic attraction, ion exchange, and ligand exchange. Carbon-based groups play a role in ligand exchange processes, synergistically interacting with the unsaturated aluminum structure to provide a multitude of adsorption sites. The exceptional attributes of CDAA establish its immense potential as a transformative solution for the pressing challenge of fluoride removal from water sources.

Abstract
This study presents a novel approach for synthesizing benzo[f]isoindole dimers, which involves cascade cyclization and oxidative radical dimerization. Our method allows for the formation of up to five carbon-carbon bonds in a single reaction, exhibiting remarkable diastereoselectivity and regioselectivity. The mechanism and regioselectivity were investigated through a combination of experiments and calculations.

Abstract
Latent fingerprints (LFPs) is one of the most important physical evidence in the criminal scene, playing an important role in forensic investigations. Therefore, developing highly sensitive and convenient materials for the visualization of LFPs is of great significance. We designed and synthesized an organic fluorescent molecule TP-PH with aggregation-induced enhanced emission (AIEE) activity. By simply soaking, blue fluorescent images with high contrast and resolution are readily developed on various surfaces including tinfoil, steel, glass and plastic. Remarkably, LFPs can be visualized within 5 min including the first-, second- and tertiary-level details. In addition, TP-PH exhibits interesting photoactivated fluorescence enhancement properties. Under irradiation of 365 nm UV light with a power density of 382 mW/cm2, the fluorescence quantum yield displays approximately 21.5-fold enhancement. Mechanism studies reveals that the photoactivated fluorescence is attributed to the irreversible cyclodehydrogenation reactions under UV irradiation. This work provides a guideline for the design of multifunctional AIEE fluorescent materials.

Abstract
The chiral recognition of a self-assembled structure of enantiopure (M)-type 2,13-diphenyl[7]thiaheterohelicene ((M)-Ph-[7]TH) was investigated on a Ag(111) substrate by scanning tunnelling microscopy (STM) and tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (TERS). In contrast to previous research of thiaheterohelicene and its derivatives showing zigzag row formation on the Ag(111) substrate, the hexagonal ordered structure was observed by STM. The obtained TERS spectra of (M)-Ph-[7]TH were consistent with the Raman spectra calculated on the basis of density functional theory (DFT), which suggests that (M)-Ph-[7]TH was adsorbed on the substrate without decomposition. The sample bias voltage dependence of STM images combined with the calculated molecular orbitals of (M)-Ph-[7]TH indicates that a phenyl ring was observed as a protrusion at +3.0 V, whereas the helicene backbone was observed at +0.5 V. From these results, a possible model of the hexagonal structure was proposed. Owing to the phenyl ring, the van der Waals interaction between (M)-Ph-[7]TH and the substrate becomes strong. This leads to the formation of the hexagonal structure with the same symmetry as the substrate.

Abstract
Metal organic frameworks (MOFs) are considered as promising electrocatalytic materials due to their tunable porosity, functional organic ligands, and large specific surface area for oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Recently, most reported electrocatalysts focus on the establishing heterogeneous structures by thermal treatments to improve OER performance. However, the thermal treatments are accompanied by the complex synthetic process and destruction of the MOFs structure. Therefore, improving the catalytic performance of pristine MOFs remains a challenge. Here, a series of trimetallic MaMbMc-MOFs (M represents metal element) were synthesized by one-pot method. Modulating the Co/Ni ratio not only adjusts the morphology of FeCoNi-MOFs, but also effectively optimizes the electronic structure. The composition-optimized FeCo0.5Ni2.5-MOF nano-bundles (FeCo0.5Ni2.5-NBs) only required a low overpotential of 273 mV to achieve the current density of 10 mA cm-2 in alkaline solution, with a Tafel slope of 51.1 mV dec-1, lower than other FeCoNi-MOFs and commercial RuO2 catalyst. The two-electrode couple FeCo0.5Ni2.5-NBs || Pt/C achieved the cell voltage of 1.55 V, delivering current density of 10 mA cm-2 for overall water splitting.

Abstract
This study explored the potential of utilizing aluminum and yttrium amended (Al/Y amended) sewage sludge biochar (Al/Y-CSBC) for efficient fluoride removal from wastewater. The adsorption kinetics of fluoride on bimetallic modified Al/Y-CSBC followed the pseudo-second-order model, while the adsorption isotherm conformed to the Freundlich equation. Remarkably, the material exhibited excellent fluoride removal performance over a wide pH range, achieving a maximum adsorption capacity of 62.44 mg·g-1. Moreover, Al/Y-CSBC demonstrated exceptional reusability, maintaining 95% removal efficiency even after six regeneration cycles. The fluoride adsorption mechanism involved ion exchange, surface complexation, and electrostatic adsorption interactions. The activation and modification processes significantly increased the specific surface area of Al/Y-CSBC, leading to a high isoelectric point (pHpzc = 9.14). The incorporation of aluminum and yttrium metals exhibited a novel approach, enhancing the adsorption capacity for fluoride ions due to their strong affinity. Furthermore, the dispersing effect of biochar played a crucial role in improving defluoridation efficiency by enhancing accessibility to active sites. These findings substantiate the significant potential of Al/Y-CSBC for enhanced fluoride removal from wastewater.

Abstract
The creation of new functional molecules is a central task in chemical synthesis. Herein, we report the synthesis of a new type of fluorophore, bisbenzo[f]isoindolylidenes, from easily accessible dipropargyl benzenesulfonamides. Wavelength-tunable fluorophores emitting strong fluorescence of green to red light were obtained in this reaction. Late-stage modifications and incorporation of bioactive molecules into these fluorophores give rise to potential applications in biological studies. Detailed computational and experimental studies were conducted to elucidate the mechanism, and suggest a reaction sequence involving Garratt-Braverman type cyclization, isomerization, fragmentation, dimerization and oxidation.

Pluronic F127, P123 and cross-linked F127 diacrylate micelles are photochemically deoxygenating nanocapsules in which oxygen could be removed by photochemical reaction with a surfactant and efficient triplet-triplet annihilation photon upconversion (TTA-UC) can be achieved in air. The efficiency of TTA-UC under air is comparable to that under deoxygenated conditions.

Abstract
Three dimensional (3D) noble-metal nanomaterials with special surface structures have been regarded as high-performance catalysts for alcohol oxidation on account of their superior thermal stability, electrical conductivity and large specific surface area. Although extensive efforts have been devoted to the preparation of 3D Pd-based catalysts with superior activity and stability, designing a simple, effective and eco-friendly method remains a challenge. Herein, we developed a facile one-step coreduction strategy to synthesize a series of 3D surface-wrinkled PdAu nanospheres (NSs) with tunable Pd/Au atomic ratios and found a universal method to prepare surface-wrinkled PdM (M = Au, Pt, Cu and Pb) NSs. Benefiting from the function of the surfactant cetyltrimethylammonium chloride (CTAC), the synthesized PdAu NSs with different composition possess abundant surface wrinkles, which is beneficial for exposing more electroactive centers. Attributed to the unique geometric morphology and optimized atomic ratio, the PdAu-2 NSs exhibited an optimal mass activity (MA) of 8103 mA mg-1 and 5113 mA mg-1 for the ethylene glycol oxidation reaction (EGOR) and ethanol oxidation reaction (EOR), which was 6.1 and 4.1 times that of commercial Pd/C, respectively. Moreover, the PdAu-2 NSs exhibited superb stability after long-term current-time (i-t) and cyclic voltammetry (CV) tests of the EGOR and EOR. This work not only provides new avenues to engineer PdAu NSs with enhanced electrocatalytic performance but also offers guidance for extending to more 3D PdM (M = other metals) NSs with novel morphology applied to fuel cell fields.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the short-term efficacy of perioperative fecal microbiota transplantation combined with nutritional support in patients with radiation-induced enteritis complicated by intestinal obstruction. Methods: The cohort of this prospective cohort study comprised 45 patients (nine men and 36 women) with radiation-induced enteritis complicated by intestinal obstruction admitted to Shanghai Tenth People's Hospital Affiliated to Tongji University from January 2022 to October 2022. The median age was 53 (42-65) years. Thirty-five of the patients had gynecological tumors and 10 colorectal malignancies. The patients were randomly allocated to a fecal microbiota transplantation group of 20 patients who underwent fecal microbiota transplantation starting 2 weeks before surgery for 6 days, in addition to receiving conventional perioperative treatment, and a conventional treatment group of 25 patients who only received nutritional support during the perioperative period. There were no significant differences in baseline characteristics (sex, age, preoperative nutritional indices, and surgical procedure) between the two groups (all P>0.05). Postoperative recovery (time to passing flatus or a bowel movement, length of stay) and complications were compared between the two groups. Postoperative complications within 30 days after surgery classified in accordance with the international Clavien-Dindo classification of surgical complications (I-V) were statistically analyzed. Improvement in gastrointestinal symptoms, namely abdominal pain, distension, diarrhea, and rectal bleeding) and gastrointestinal quality of life scores (which include 36 problems rated 0-144 points related to physical, psychological, social activities and family life; the lower the score, the more severe the symptoms) were compared between the two groups. Nutritional recovery was assessed by body mass, body mass index, total protein, albumin, prealbumin, and hemoglobin. Results: Compared with the conventional treatment group, the postoperative hospital stay was shorter in the fecal microbiota transplantation group (8.0±4.3 days vs. 11.2±5.4 days, t=2.157, P=0.037) and the time to passage of flatus or having a bowel movement was earlier (2.2±3.2 days vs. 3.9±2.3 days, t=2.072, P=0.044). There were 26 postoperative complications in the fecal microbiota transplantation group and 59 in the conventional treatment group. There were 20 and 36 Grade I to II complications and no and three Grade III to V complications in the transplantation and conventional treatment group, respectively. The overall grade of complication did not differ significantly between the two groups (P=0.544). However, the incidence of postoperative intestinal inflammatory obstruction was lower in the fecal microbiota transplantation than the conventional treatment group (10.0% [2/20] vs. 40.0% [10/25], P=0.040). One patient in the conventional treatment group died. This patient had complete intestinal obstruction complicated by severe malnutrition preoperatively, and an intestinal fistula complicated by abdominal infection postoperatively, and died despite active treatment. Nineteen and 23 patients in the transplantation and conventional treatment group, respectively, attended for follow-up 1 month after surgery; 19 and 21, respectively, attended for follow-up 3 months after surgery, and 17 and 20, respectively, attended for follow-up 6 months after surgery. There were no significant differences between the two groups in abdominal pain or rectal bleeding 1, 3, or 6 months after surgery (all P>0.05). One month after surgery, the incidence of abdominal distension and diarrhea was lower in the fecal microbiota transplantation than in the conventional treatment group (3/19 vs. 48.0% [11/23], P=0.048; 3/19 vs. 52.2% [12/23], P=0.023). However, at the 3 and 6 month follow-ups the incidence of abdominal distension and diarrhea had gradually decreased in both groups and the differences between the groups were not statistically significant (P>0.05 for all). Scores for gastrointestinal quality of life improved significantly in both treatment groups compared with preoperative values (F=71.250, P<0.001; F=79.130, P<0.001, respectively). Scores for gastrointestinal quality of life were higher in the fecal microbiota transplantation than the conventional treatment group at all follow-up time points (P<0.05). One-way ANOVA showed that body mass, body mass index, and total protein, albumin and hemoglobin concentrations improved in both groups compared with preoperative values (all P<0.05). Prealbumin concentration improved significantly in the transplantation (F=5.514, P=0.002), but not in the conventional, group (F=1.535, P=0.211). The improvements in body mass, body mass index, total protein, and albumin were better in the fecal microbiota transplantation than conventional treatment group at 3 and 6 months of follow-up (all P<0.05). Conclusion: Perioperative fecal microbiota transplantation combined with nutritional support is effective in improving early postoperative nutritional status and quality of life in patients with radiation-induced enteritis complicated by intestinal obstruction.

Abstract
Multi-wavelength hot-band excitation, forbidden in the conventional Stokes fluorescence mechanism, is found to be available with cascading triplet-triplet annihilation upconversion (TTA-UC). Selective excitation of Pt(II)octaethylporphyrin (PtOEP) by diode lasers with wavelengths of 532 nm, 589 nm, 635 nm, 655 nm, and 671 nm respectively can all induce 9,10-diphenylanthracene (DPA) to emit blue upconversion, with the maximum anti-Stokes shift of 0.95 eV in the microcrystals exposed to air. Whether the zero-vibrational energy level excitation or the hot-vibrational energy level excitation in the ground state, the PtOEP/DPA pair showed triplet-triplet energy transfer (TTET) efficiencies approaching ∼95%. The doped microcrystal samples without encapsulation can emit blue upconversion from green/yellow/red excitation with stability for ∼20 days under atmospheric conditions, demonstrating their potential applications in multiple information encryption.

Abstract
The application of multiple quantum dots (QDs) in the field of white light emitting diodes (WLEDs) is still an important challenge due to their low luminous efficiency and quenching phenomenon. In this paper, we prepared AgInS2 QDs/zeolitic imidazolate framework-70 (AIS/ZIF-70) composite by a microwave hydrothermal method. Owing to the high porosity and stability of ZIF-70, it could effectively prevent quenching issues due to the aggregation of QDs. Since the ZIF-70 and QDs were chemically bonded, the formation of the ZnS layer could effectively passivate the surface defect and thus the quantum yield reached 21.49 % in aqueous solution. The luminous efficiency (LE) of the assembled AIS/ZIF-based WLED was reinforced by 6.8 times with a molar ratio of AgIn/Zn=18, i. e. at 5.26 % molar fraction of ZIF-70. Moreover, the color rendering index (CRI) and correlated color temperature (CCT) of AIS/ZIF-based WLED were 84.3 and 3631 K, respectively, indicating its potential application in solid-state lighting.

Abstract
Flexible and stretchable electronic devices are indispensable parts of wearable devices. However, these electronics employ electrical transducing modes and lack the ability to visually respond to external stimuli, restricting their versatile application in the visualized human-machine interaction. Inspired by the color variation of chameleons' skin, we developed a series of novel mechanochromic photonic elastomers (PEs) with brilliant structural colors and a stable optical response. Typically, these PEs with a sandwich structure were prepared by embedding PS@SiO2 photonic crystals (PCs)within the polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) elastomer. Benefiting from this structure, these PEs exhibit not only bright structural colors, but also superior structural integrity. Notably, they possess excellent mechanochromism through lattice spacing regulation, and their optical responses are stably maintained even when suffering from 100 stretching-releasing cycles, showing superior stability and reliability and excellent durability. Moreover, a variety of patterned PEs were successfully obtained through a facile mask method, which provides great inspiration to create intelligent patterns and displays. Based on these merits, such PEs can be utilized as visualized wearable devices for detecting various human joint movements in real time. This work offers a new strategy for realizing visualized interactions based on PEs, showing huge application prospects in photonic skins, soft robotics, and human-machine interactions.

Abstract
Currently, the fabrication of low cost and high efficiency electrocatalysts is a hotspot in the study of water splitting. Herein, plasma spray (PS) was used to induce a microcosmic explosion (me) on Ni mesh to modify the nanoscale Ni for the preparation of me-PS-NM electrodes with excellent hydrogen evolution. We also demonstrated that oxygen evolution could be significantly enhanced after the me-PS-NM electrodes were doped with Fe3+. Both electrodes formed a system exhibiting superior activity and stability for overall water splitting without noble metals.

Abstract
Fabricating 2D nanomaterials with heterogeneous structure is a feasible way to improve catalytic performance owing to its large surface area and tunable electron structure. However, such a category has not been widely reported in the field of alcohol oxidation reaction (AOR). In this work, we reported a new type of heterostructure nanosheet with Ru nanoparticles decorated around the edge of PdRu nanosheets (Ru-PdRu HNSs). Particularly, strong electronic interaction and sufficient active sites attributed to the construction of heterogeneous interface, is the key to the superior electrocatalytic behavior of Ru-PdRu HNSs towards methanol oxidation reaction (MOR), ethylene glycol oxidation reaction (EGOR), and glycerol oxidation reaction (GOR). Remarkably, owing to the enhanced electron transfer brought by the introduction of the Ru-PdRu heterogeneous interface, these novel nanosheets are highly durable. Apart from being able to maintain the highest current density after 4000 s chronoamperometry test, Ru-PdRu HNSs can be reactivated with negligible activity loss in MOR and GOR test after four consecutive i-t experiments. Impressively, in the EGOR test, after reactivation, the current density is step-wisely increased, making it one of the best AOR electrocatalysts.

Abstract
True three-dimensional (3D) displays are the best display technologies and their breakthrough is primarily due to advancements in display media. In this paper, we propose two luminescent materials for a static volumetric 3D display based on photoactivated phosphorescence. The luminescent materials include (1) dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO)/1-methyl-2-pyrrolidinone (NMP) or tetramethylene sulfoxide (TMSO) as the solvent and photochemically-deoxygenating reagent; (2) a metal phthalocyanine complex as the sensitizer; (3) a phosphorescent platinum complex as the emitter. The metal phthalocyanine complex, PdPrPc (PdBuPc), absorbs the light beam of 635 nm and the solvent scavenges the sensitized singlet oxygen. Light beams pass through a deoxygenated zone. The phosphorescent emitter, PtNI, absorbs the 440 nm light beam and phosphoresces only in the deoxygenated zone generated by the sensitizer. Phosphorescent voxels and high-contrast 3D images are well-defined at the intersection of 635 and 440 nm light beams.

Abstract
In this work, we provide a fabrication method for dual-responsive electrochromic (EC) polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) devices. The EC PDLC device was developed by combing the PDLC technique and a colored complex formed via a redox reaction without a specific EC molecule in a simple preparation method. The mesogen played dual roles in the device for scattering in the form of microdroplets and participating in the redox reactions. Orthogonal experiments were performed with the acrylate monomer concentration, the ionic salt concentration, and the cell thickness as factors to investigate the electro-optical performance for the achievement of optimized fabrication conditions. The optimized device presented four switchable states modulated by external electric fields. The light transmittance of the device was changed by an alternative current (AC) electric field while the color change was realized by a direct current (DC) electric field. Variations of mesogen and ionic salt species can modulate the color and hue of devices, which solves the disadvantage of a single color for traditional EC devices. This work lays the foundation for realizing patterned multi-colored patterned displays and anti-counterfeiting via screen printing and inkjet printing techniques.

Abstract
Photochromic sensors have the advantages of diverse isomers for multi-analysis, providing more sensing information and possessing more recognition units and more sensitivity to external stimulations, but they present enormous complexity with various stimulations as well. Deep learning (DL) algorithms contribute a huge advantage at analyzing nonlinear and multidimensional data, but they suffer from nontransparent inner networks, "black-boxes". In this work, we employed the explainable DL approach to process and explicate photochromic sensing. Spirooxazine metallic complexes were adopted to prepare a multi-state analysis array for β-Lactams identification and quantitation. A dataset of 2520 unduplicated fluorescence intensity images was collected for convolutional neural network (CNN) operation. The method clearly discriminated six β-Lactams with 97.98% prediction accuracy and allowed rapid quantification with a concentration range from 1 to 100 mg/L. The photochromic sensing mechanism was verified via molecular simulation and class activation mapping, which explicated how the CNN model assesses the importance of photochromic sensor states and makes a discrimination decision. The explainable DL-assisted analysis method establishes an end-to-end strategy to ascertain and verify the complicated sensing mechanism for device optimization and even new scientific discovery.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the genetic diversity and genetic differentiation of different geographical isolates of Gohieria fusca. METHODS G. fusca isolates were sampled from Wuhu (WH), Bengbu (BB) and Bozhou cities (BZ) of Anhui Province and Jiaxing City of Zhejiang Province (JX). Mitochondrial cytochrome b (Cytb) and ribosomal internal transcribed spacer (ITS) genes were amplified in WH, BB, BZ and JX isolates of G. fusca using PCR assay. The gene sequences were edited and aligned using the software Chromas 2 and DNASTAR 1.00, and the haplotype, haplotype diversity (Hd) and nucleotide polymorphism (Pi) of each isolate were calculated using the software DnaSP 5.10.00. The genetic differentiation among isolates (Fst) and gene flow value (Nm) were estimated using the software MEGA 10.2, and a phylogenetic tree was built. Tests of neutrality and analysis of molecular variance (AMOVA) were performed using the software Arlequin 3.1 and a haplotype network was built based on the Median-Joining network using the software Network 10.2. RESULTS PCR assay showed that the sizes of the Cytb and ITS genes were 372 bp and 1 301 to 1 320 bp, respectively. All four isolates of G. fusca presented high genetic diversity based on mitochondrial Cytb and ITS genes (Hd = 0.804, Pi = 0.006 91). AMOVA showed genetic differentiation among geographical isolates of G. fusca (Fst = 0.202 40, P < 0.05), and the genetic variation was mainly caused by intra-population variations (79.76%). Gene flow analysis showed a high level of gene flow among G. fusca isolates (Nm > 1). Tests of neutrality based on Cytb gene measured a Tajima's D value of -1.796 31 (P < 0.05) and a Fu's FS value of -3.293 98 (P < 0.05) in WH isolate of G. fusca, indicating population expansion in WH isolate of G. fusca. Haplotype network analysis and phylogenetic analysis revealed no remarkable geographical distribution pattern among different geographical isolates of G. fusca. All four isolates of G. fusca presented high genetic diversity (Hd = 0.985, Pi = 0.011 97). AMOVA showed moderate level of genetic differentiation between four isolates (Fst = 0.104 62, P < 0.05). The tests of neutrality based on ITS genes measured a Tajima's D value of -6.088 20 and a Fu's FS value of -1.935 99 (both P > 0.05) in the whole isolate of G. fusca, indicating no obviously population expansion. CONCLUSIONS The four geographical isolates of G. fusca have high genetic diversity and remarkable genetic differentiation. Since a high level of gene flow is detected among different geographical isolates of G. fusca, no obvious geographical distribution pattern of G. fusca is found.

Abstract
The application of graphite carbon nitride photocatalysts is hampered by their low specific surface areas, few active sites, and low photogenerated electron-hole transfer rates. Here, we report a green and controllable strategy for synthesizing kelp-like carbon nitride nanosheets through self-assembled materials prepared from melamine and trithiocyanuric acid using sonochemistry. The prepared carbon nitride nanosheets showed superior and long-lasting photocatalytic activity in hydrogen evolution and the degradation of tetracycline hydrochloride. The significantly enhanced photocatalytic performance of carbon nitride nanosheets is attributed to the curled porous nanosheet structure and the appropriate amount of O-doping. This work provides a new design strategy for preparing shape-controlled carbon nitride catalysts via a green, fast, sonochemically mediated self-assembly approach.

Abstract
Designing earth-abundant electrocatalysts that are highly active, low-cost, and stable for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is crucial for electrochemical water splitting. However, in conventional electrode fabrication strategies, NiFe layered double hydroxide (NiFe LDH) catalysts are usually coated onto substrates as external components, which suffers from poor conductivity, easily detaches from the substrate, and hinders their long-term utilization. Herein, the surface-reconstruction strategy is used to synthesize in situ autologous NiFe LDH to increase the surficial active sites numbers. The FeNi foam (FNF) serves as both the metal source and substrate, and the obtained NiFe LDH nanosheets (NSs) are firmly anchored in the monolithic FNF. What needs to be emphasized is that the strategy does not involve any high-temperature or high-pressure processes, apart from a cost-effective etching and a specified drying treatment. The nanostructure of NiFe LDH and the synergistic effect between Fe and Ni simultaneously lead to an enhanced catalytic effect for the OER. Remarkably, the sr-FNF46 requires only an ultralow overpotential of 283 mV to achieve a current density of 100 mA cm-2 for the OER in 1 M KOH electrolyte, and exhibits excellent stability. Thus, the obtained electrode holds promise for electrocatalytic applications. Finally, the formation mechanism of NiFe LDH NSs due to surface reconstruction is investigated and discussed in detail.

Abstract
The NUFER (Nutrient Flow in food chains, Environment and Resources) model has been used to reliably quantify nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) emissions from agriculture land to water bodies. However, factors impacting agricultural N and P emissions at the island scale have rarely been studied due to the lack of high-resolution spatialization tools, which are critical for exploring mitigation options. Here, a high-resolution NUFER model was constructed based on geology, meteorology, land-use data, statistical data, and field investigation. The spatial characteristics of N and P emissions in Hainan Island, China, were quantified, and the driving forces were analyzed. We also explored effective measures to reduce emissions by 2035 using scenario analysis. Overall, 98 Gg N from agriculture entered water bodies in 2018, of which crop system contributed 70%; 15 Gg P entered water bodies, of which, animal system contributed 78%. Nitrate (NO3-) leaching (65%) and direct discharge of animal manure (69%) accounted for most of the N and P emissions, respectively. Plains contributed 89% of N and 92% of P emissions. Spatial overlay analysis showed that high N and P emissions were mainly concentrated in the western and northeastern plain areas. At the sub-basin scale, the Nandu River basin had the largest agricultural N and P emissions, accounting for more than 20% of all emissions. Scenario analysis showed that N and P emissions were significantly correlated with natural (e.g., elevation, slope, and soil texture) and anthropogenic (e.g., rural income, population density, planting structure, and livestock density) factors. We further analyzed the emissions of N and P can be reduced by 71 Gg and 14 Gg by 2035, respectively, via reducing food chain waste and consumption, importing more food, and improving production efficiency, but especially prohibiting the direct discharge of livestock manure. This high-resolution quantification of agricultural N and P emissions to the water bodies provides an exploration of the most effective options for reducing agricultural non-point source (ANPS) pollution at the island scale.

Abstract
Panax notoginseng round spot disease (PRSD), caused by Mycocentrospora acerina, is the main leaf disease occurring in cultured P. notoginseng. Aiming to find a safe and efficient control method for PRSD, we studied the disease characteristics of PRSD and the optimal growth conditions of M. acerina and evaluated the efficacy of rain-shelter cultivation in PRSD control. Moreover, we described M. acerina based on morphological characterization and molecular analyses (ITS, ACT, LSU, and TEF-1α). The optimum temperature for M. acerina conidial germination was found to be 14 to 22°C. Furthermore, leaf surface wetness for at least 4 h is required for conidial germination, and conidia can successfully infect P. notoginseng when the leaf wetness lasts for more than 8 h. Additionally, rainwater splashing determines the conidial transfection distance, which is less than 2 m. Finally, our study revealed that rain-shelter cultivation is an effective and simple physical prevention strategy to control PRSD, with an average efficacy of up to 100%.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) in the treatment of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Methods: A longitudinal study was conducted. Clinical data from ASD patients with gastrointestinal symptoms and who underwent FMT in the Tenth People's Hospital affiliated to Tongji University or Jinling Hospital between May 2012 to May 2021 were retrospectively collected. Scores derived from the autism behavior checklist (ABC), the childhood autism rating scale (CARS), the Bristol stool form scale (BSFS), and the gastrointestinal symptom rating scale (GSRS) were analyzed at baseline and at the 1st, 3rd, 6th, 12th, 24th, 36th, 48th and 60th month after FMT. Records of any adverse reactions were collected. Generalized estimating equations were used for analysis of data on time points before and after FMT. Results: A total of 328 patients met the inclusion criteria for this study. Their mean age was 6.1±3.4 years old. The cohort included 271 boys and 57 girls. The percentage of patients remaining in the study for post-treatment follow-up at the 1st, 3rd, 12th, 24th, 36th, 48th and 60th month were as follows: 303 (92.4%), 284 (86.7%), 213 (64.9%), 190 (57.9%), 143 (43.6%), 79 (24.1%), 46 (14.0%), 31 (9.5%). After FMT, the average ABC score was significantly improved in the first 36 months and remained improved at the 48th month. However, the average score was not significantly different from baseline by the 60th month (1st-36th month, P<0.001; 48th month, P=0.008; 60th month, P=0.108). The average CARS score improved significantly during the first 48 months and remained improved at the 60th month (1st-48th month, P<0.001; 60th month, P=0.010). The average BSFS score was also significantly improved in the first 36 months (with an accompanying stool morphology that resembled type 4). This improvement was maintained at the 48th month. However, the average score was similar to baseline at the 60th month (1st-36th month, P<0.001; 48th month, P=0.008; 60th month, P=0.109). The average GSRS score was significantly improved during the first 24 months, but not afterwards (1st-24th month, P<0.001; 36th month, P=0.209; 48th month, P=0.996; 60th month, P=0.668). The adverse events recorded during treatment included abdominal distension in 21 cases (6.4%), nausea in 14 cases (4.3%), vomiting in 9 cases (2.7%), abdominal pain in 15 cases (4.6%), diarrhea in 18 cases (5.5%), fever in 13 cases (4.0%), and excitement in 24 cases (7.3%). All adverse reactions were mild to moderate and improved immediately after suspension of FMT or on treatment of symptoms. No serious adverse reactions occurred. Conclusion: FMT has satisfactory long-term efficacy and safety for the treatment of ASD with gastrointestinal symptoms.

Abstract
Objective: To summarize and analyze the clinical effect of fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) combined with nutritional support and psychotherapy in patients with "Tetralogy of Tongji" (comprising chronic gastrointestinal dysfunction, mental and psychological disorders, malnutrition, and endocrine disorders). Methods: A longitudinal study was conducted. The inclusion criteria were as follows: (1) patients were under 70 years of age; (2) patients exhibited chronic gastrointestinal dysfunction (in accordance with the Rome IV diagnostic criteria for irritable bowel syndrome ie. chronic functional constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain and abdominal distention) with onset occurring more than one year previously; (3) patients exhibited malnutrition (body mass index ≤ 18.5 kg/m2); (4) patients exhibited depression, anxiety, or state as diagnosed by a psychologist using the Hamilton anxiety rating scale (HAMA) and the Hamilton depression scale (HAMD); (5) patients were women of childbearing age with amenorrhea or menstrual disorder with a duration ≥6 months. Patients were excluded if they exhibited gastrointestinal bleeding, short bowel syndrome, radiation-induced intestinal injury, intestinal obstruction or inflammatory bowel disease, recurrent/metastatic tumors, systemic infectious diseases, life-threatening systemic comorbidities, intorlerate to nasojejunal, percutaneous gastrostomy / jejunostomy or FMT. The clinical data of 43 patients at Shanghai Tenth People's Hospital exhibiting the "Tetralogy of Tongji" and who received microflora transplantation combined with nutritional support and psychotherapy from June 2017 to June 2021 was prospectively collected. There were 12 males and 31 females with a mean age of 35.2±16.7 years. All 43 patients had chronic gastrointestinal dysfunction. Of these, 24 patients had depression and 19 had anxiety. There were 26 women of reproductive age, including 13 cases of menstrual disorder and 9 cases of amenorrhea. The treatment intervention was a combination of FMT (microflora solution or microflora capsule), nutritional support (enteral nutrition) and psychological intervention. The following were assessed before treatment and 1, 3, 6 months after treatment: (1) gastrointestinal function was assessed using the gastrointestinal symptoms rating scale (GSRS), where a higher score is indicative of more serious gastrointestinal symptoms, and the gastrointestinal quality of life index (GIQLI), where a higher score is indicative of higher quality of life; (2) psychological status was assessed using HAMA and HAMD scores, where a lower score is indicative of reduced severity of anxiety or depression symptoms, respectively; (3) nutritional status was assessed by measurements of total blood protein, albumin, fibrinogen and prealbumin, as well as measurements of body mass and body mass index (BMI); (4) neuroendocrine function was assessed by measurement of blood levels of cortisol, dopamine and noradrenaline, as well as menstruation in women of reproductive age. Results: The follow-up rates at 1, 3 and 6 months after treatment were 90.7% (39/43), 72.1% (31/43) and 55.8% (24/43), respectively. The total effective rate for chronic gastrointestinal dysfunction was 81.4% (35/43), of which the average GSRS score decreased from 29.35±3.56 before treatment to 18.25±2.56 in the sixth month (P<0.001). The average GIQLI score increased from 56.23±10.34 before treatment to 91.04±20.39 in the sixth month (P<0.001). All patients had malnutrition before treatment. After 6 months, their body weight had increased from 40.61±8.88 kg to 50.45±6.23 kg (P<0.001), and BMI had increased from 15.17±1.87 kg/m2 to 19.58±1.42 kg/m2 (P<0.001). The average total protein level was 60.99± 5.99 g/L before treatment. After 6 months, this had increased to 64.21±4.23 g/L (F=2.715, P=0.022). The average prealbumin level increased from 150.14±56.04 mg/L before treatment to 258.17±86.94 mg/L after 6 months (F=15.124, P<0.001). In this study, 24 patients with depression/depressed state were included. After treatment, the average HAMD score in these patients decreased from 22.79±6.63 before treatment to 9.92±7.24 after 6 months (P<0.001). There were 19 patients with anxiety disorder/anxiety state. After treatment, the average HAMA score in these patients decreased from 17.15±4.34 before treatment to 7.73±4.10 after 6 months (P<0.001). Observing the endocrine efficacy of 26 women of childbearing age, it was found that the effective rate of this treatment on endocrine regulation was 69.2% (18/26). Although there was no significant change in blood cortisol levels after 6 months, average blood dopamine levels decreased from 32.91±10.65 nmol/L before treatment to 13.02±5.58 nmol/L after 6 months (P<0.001). Average blood norepinephrine levels decreased from 49.75±15.23 ng/L before treatment to 19.21±9.58 ng/L after 6 months (P<0.001). Conclusion: The strategy of FMT combined with nutritional support and psychological intervention is effective in improving the symptoms of the "Tetralogy of Tongji".

Abstract
Objective: To explore and establish the preparation system of human intestinal fluid transplantation (HIFT) and HIFT capsule, and to preliminarily apply it to clinic. Methods: Strict standards for donor screening and management were established. The nasojejunal tube was catheterized into the distal jejunum, and then it was connected with an improved disposable sterile negative pressure collection device for the collection of human intestinal fluid. After that, it was prepared into capsules by filtering, adding 10% glycerin protectant and freeze-drying method. The amount of living bacteria was used as the standard of therapeutic dose. The living bacteria amount in fluid is ≥ 5.0×108 /mL and the living bacteria proportion is ≥ 83%; the living bacteria amount in powder is ≥ 2.0×106 /g and the living bacteria proportion is ≥ 81%; The observational indicators included: (1) the basic information of the donor, the amount of living bacteria in the HIF and powder. (2) Preliminary analysis of the treatment for ASD, which combined HIFT capsule with standard FMT capsule, from February to December 2021 (Clinical trial Registration Number: ChiCTR2100043929). Evaluation criteria: Trypan blue staining method was used to detect the living bacteria amount in fluid and powder. The Autism Behavior Checklist (ABC) and Childhood Autism Rating Scale (CARS) were used to evaluate the efficacy. Results: Compared with the parent donor, the standard donor was younger [(25.4±0.9) y vs. (30.7±3.2) y, t=-19.097, P=0.001] and had a lower body mass index [(19.7±0.5) kg/m2 vs. (20.8±1.3) kg/m2, t=-8.726, P=0.001], more in the living bacteria amount in powder [(7.47±1.52)×106/g vs. (5.03±1.38)×106/g, t=11.331, P=0.031], Chao index (205.4±6.8 vs. 194.2±7.2, t=10.415, P=0.001), and Shannon index (3.25±0.14 vs 2.72±0.27, t=19.465, P=0.001). The differences were statistically significant (all P<0.05). However, there were no significant differences in gender, drainage volume and total number of bacterial liquid colonies between the two groups (all P>0.05). Both the standard donor and the parent donor met the donor screening criteria, and the preparation fluid and powder met the treatment criteria. Eight patients received the treatment of HIFT combined with fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT). Preliminary statistical results showed that HIFT combined with FMT improved ABC and CARS at the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th months. The differences were statistically significant (all P<0.05). No severe adverse reaction occurred. Conclusion: Based on the previous research on FMT preparation system and the clinical technology in our center, this study developed a high standard HIFT preparation system, and explored the clinical study of HIFT combined with FMT, in order to provide an innovative therapy for the treatment of diseases.

Abstract
UNLABELLED Scanner mismatch occurs frequently with follow-up dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) scans. Nearly one-in-five follow-up DXA scans were conducted on non-cross-calibrated scanners (scanner mismatch) and more than a quarter of patients who had a follow-up DXA scan had experienced scanner mismatch. INTRODUCTION Detecting significant changes in bone mineral density (BMD) with dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) scanners relies on the least significant change (LSC). Results from two different DXA scanners can only be compared, albeit with decreased sensitivity for change, if the LSC between the two scanners has been directly determined through cross-calibration. Performing follow-up DXA scans on non-cross-calibrated scanners (scanner mismatch) has safety and economic implications. This study aims to determine the proportion of scanner mismatch occurring at a population level. METHODS All patients who completed at least two DXA scans between 1 April 2009 and 31 December 2018 in the province of Alberta, Canada, were identified using population-based health services databases. Scanner mismatch was defined as a follow-up DXA scan completed on a DXA scanner that differed from and was not cross-calibrated to the previous DXA scanner. Multivariate logistic regression models were used to assess predictive factors that may contribute to scanner mismatch. RESULTS A total of 264,866 patients with 470,641 follow-up DXA scans were identified. Scanner mismatch occurred in 18.9% of follow-up DXA scans; 28.7% of patients experienced at least one scanner mismatch. Longer duration between scans (OR 1.25, 95% CI 1.24-1.26) and major osteoporotic fracture history before index scan (OR 1.06, 95% CI 1.03-1.08) increased risk of scanner mismatch. Osteoporosis medication use before index scan (OR 0.89; 95% CI 0.88-0.91), recency of follow-up scans (OR 0.98, 95% CI 0.73-0.98), female sex (OR 0.97, 95% CI 0.94-1.00), and age at last scan (OR 0.99, 95% CI 0.99-1.00) were associated with lower risk of scanner mismatch. CONCLUSION Scanner mismatch is a common problem, occurring in one-in-five follow-up DXA scans and affecting more than a quarter of patients. Interventions to reduce this large proportion of scanner mismatch are necessary.

Abstract
In this work, a novel adsorbent of aluminium/lanthanum loaded wheat straw biochar (Al-La-WSB), was prepared by using a facile approach and used for fluoride removal. The Al-La-WSB and its pristine wheat straw biochar (WSB) were characterized by scanning electronic microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) methods. Batch adsorption experiments were carried out to investigate adsorbent performance, the highest removal rate was observed at pH 9, contact time of 7 h and Al-La-WSB dose of 1 g L-1. Lagergren pseudo-second-order kinetics and Langmuir isotherm model fitted the experimental data well. The maximum fluoride adsorption capacity of Al-La-WSB at different experiment temperature of 298, 308 and 318 K, was 51.28 mg g-1, 46.73 mg g-1 and 50.25 mg g-1, respectively, which was better than most reported adsorbents. The Al-La-WSB performed well over a considerable wide pH range of 3-10 and carried positive charge at pH < 4.8. The presence co-existing ions of SO42-, HCO3-, Cl- and NO3- had a minor impact on fluoride adsorption besides PO43-. Regeneration experiment results showed that the Al-La-WSB had an excellent reusability. According to the adsorbent characterization and batch adsorption experiment, the adsorption of fluoride on the Al-La-WSB was primarily a chemisorption, involving electrostatic interactions and ion exchange, which nitrate ion and hydroxyl played a major role. The results suggested that the Al-La-WSB could be a great adsorbent for removing fluoride from drinking water.

Abstract
The measurement of pH is greatly significant in monitoring physiological and biochemical states. In this work, a novel micellar ratiometric fluorescent probe featuring sophisticated energy-transfer (ET) behaviors with p-nitrophenol (PNP) as the energy acceptor and a triplet-triplet annihilation upconversion (TTA-UC) system as the energy donor was designed. The pH-induced molecular configuration of PNP determined the process for the transfer of energy from TTA-UC to PNP. The introduction of the TTA-UC system enabled probe excitation under a long wavelength and afforded a ratiometric signal for pH detection with excellent reliability over diverse interfering factors. This TTA-UC/ET pH probe demonstrated a high sensitivity to hydronium below nanomolar concentrations and an excellent anti-interference ability in serum samples, which provided a novel significant strategy for rapid and accurate detection of blood pH in vitro.

Abstract
Herein, we report an intermolecular, radical 1,2,3-tricarbofunctionalization of α-vinyl-β-ketoesters to achieve the goal of building molecular complexity via the one-pot multifunctionalization of alkenes. This reaction allows the expansion of the carbon ring by a carbon shift from an all-carbon quaternary center, and enables further C–C bond formation on the tertiary carbon intermediate with the aim of reconstructing a new all-carbon quaternary center. The good functional group compatibility ensures diverse synthetic transformations of this method. Experimental and theoretical studies reveal that the excellent diastereoselectivity should be attributed to the hydrogen bonding between the substrates and solvent. Abstract
BackgroundImmune Checkpoint Inhibitors (ICI) have altered the landscape of cancer therapy. However, toxicities are common and up to 80% of patients will develop immune-related adverse events (irAE), including rheumatic irAEs (Rh-irAE), which can often limit their cancer treatment. Our knowledge of clinical manifestations and optimal management of patients with Rh-irAE continues to evolve as these agents are being used to treat a wider variety of cancers. Currently available data is limited to retrospective case series and case reports. There is also scarce data on the use of ICI in patients with pre-existing autoimmune disease (PAD) as these patients are often excluded from clinical trials.ObjectivesTo describe the clinical presentation, management and early outcomes of patients exposed to ICI with Rh-irAE or PAD recruited and followed prospectively from multiple sites across Canada.MethodsAdult patients with Rh-irAE from cancer immunotherapy (CTLA-4, PD-1 or PDL-1 inhibitors) or those with PAD exposed to cancer immunotherapy are prospectively recruited across 9 academic sites in Canada. Standardized clinical and biologic data are also collected. We describe clinical characteristics and management of patients recruited between January 2020 and October 2021, stratified based on the presence or absence of PAD.Results103 patients were recruited from 9 sites. From those, 85 had Rh-irAE, 47 had pre-existing musculoskeletal and rheumatic diseases, and 20 had other PAD. The most frequent Rh-irAE were joint manifestations (n = 73). Other Rh-irAE included muscle symptoms (n = 7), connective tissue disease (n = 6), vasculitis (n=2) and sarcoid (n = 3). Prednisone was the most common treatment (n = 53). Intraarticular corticosteroids were used in 7 patients. Eleven patients required conventional synthetic disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARD) and only one required biologic DMARD to control the Rh-irAE. Anti-PD-1 therapies were the most used ICI (56.3%), followed by combination therapy (35.9%). Response to index immunotherapy at 6 months was available for 21 patients. Most patients had partial response (57.1%) and only 4 patients had tumor progression (19.1%). The ICI was permanently discontinued due to an irAE in 21 patients (38.1% with PAD and 61.9% without PAD). There were no deaths related to Rh-irAE.ConclusionThe initial sample of the CanRIO prospective national cohort suggests that demographic characteristics and tumor representation in people with PAD and without PAD is similar. Patients with PAD are less likely to receive combination therapy (n= 12 vs. n=25) and are less likely to have tumor progression on ICI (n=1) compared to those without PAD (n=3). Selection bias is noted in this initial sample since half of recruited patients have PAD. Abstract
UNLABELLED Fractures are associated with increased long-term mortality in patients surviving to undergo baseline DXA. Notably, excess mortality risk does not decline with increasing time since prior hip or humerus fractures, even after accounting for comorbid medical conditions and other risk factors. INTRODUCTION Mortality risk increases following most types of fracture. In routine clinical practice, patients with prior fractures seen for dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry scan (DXA) are "survivors;" whether they remain at increased mortality risk is unknown. We tested the association between prior fracture and all-cause mortality, stratified by time since fracture, in patients undergoing baseline DXA. METHODS We conducted a DXA registry-based cohort study and linked to population-based health services data for the Province of Manitoba, Canada. We identified women and men ≥ 40 years with minimum 10 years of prior healthcare coverage undergoing baseline DXA and ascertained prior fracture codes since 1984 and mortality to 2017. Time since prior fracture was calculated between the clinical encounter for the fracture and baseline DXA (index date). Cox proportional hazards models estimated hazard ratios for all-cause mortality in those with compared to those without prior fracture adjusted for (1) age and sex, and (2) age, sex, comorbidities, and other covariates. RESULTS The study cohort consisted of 74,474 individuals (mean age 64.6 years, 89.7% female). During mean follow-up 9.2 years, we ascertained 14,923 (20.0%) deaths. Except for forearm fractures, all fracture sites were associated with increased mortality risk compared to those without prior fracture, even after multivariable adjustment. Excess mortality risk tended to decline slightly with time since fracture and was no longer significant > 10 years after vertebral fracture. However, excess mortality persisted > 10 years following hip or humerus fracture. CONCLUSIONS Prior fractures are associated with increased long-term mortality in patients surviving to undergo baseline DXA. Excess mortality risk does not decline with time since prior hip or humerus fractures, after accounting for potential confounders. Fracture prevention may have important long-term benefits preserving life expectancy.

Abstract
BackgroundClinical and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) disease activity score (DAS) are measuring different aspects of axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA), they are essential in disease activity assessment. The radiomics was on facilitating readings by clinical specialists via enhancing the medical images in which subtle data differences could be distinguished.ObjectivesIf the additional information of MRI imaging can be considered as a predictor for axSpA disease activity? In this study, we sought to construct a nomogram integrating the sacroiliac joint (SIJ)- MRI radiomics features and the inflammatory biomarkers to assess disease activity and compare it with clinical disease acitivity index in axSpA patients.Methods203 patients data were collected prospectively and confirmed as axSpA were randomly divided into training (n = 143) and validation cohorts (n = 60). 1316 radiomics features were extracted from the 3.0T SIJ-MRI. A Nomogram model was constructed using multivariate logistic regression analysis Incorporating independent clinical factors and radiomics features score (Rad-score). The performance of clinics, Rad-score and nomogram models were evaluated by ROC analysis, calibration curve and decision curve analysis (DCA), and compared with the disease activity index(Ankylosing Spondylitis DAS (ASDAS)-C reactive protein (CRP), ASDAS-erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Index (BASDAI), Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Functional Index (BASFI)) and Spondyloarthritis Research Consortium of Canada (SPARCC) MRI scoring system.ResultsThe Rad-score allowed a good discrimination in the training (AUC, 0.91; 95% CI, 0.85-0.96) and the validation cohort (AUC, 0.84; 95% CI, 0.73-0.96). The CRP-radiomics nomogram model also showed favorable discrimination in the training (AUC, 0.96; 95% CI, 0.93-0.99) and the validation cohort (AUC, 0.89; 95% CI, 0.80-0.98), better than BASDAI(AUC, 0.58), ASDAS-CRP(AUC, 0.72), ASDAS-ESR(AUC, 0.77), ESR(AUC, 0.72), CRP(AUC, 0.77) and BASFI(AUC, 0.73), had no statistical difference with SPARCC(AUC, 0.87). Calibration curves and DCA demonstrated the nomogram fit well (p > 0.05) and was useful for activity evaluation.ConclusionRad-score showed good discriminative ability to assess disease activity in axSpA. Abstract
BackgroundBone marrow oedema (BMO) of the sacroiliac joints (SIJs) is evaluated to diagnose, classify and monitor disease activity in patients with axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA). Available quantitative methodologies rely on human visual assessment, and errors can’t be completely avoided. Radiomics can extract and select discriminative and quantified features from regions of interest (ROIs), making a more accurate and objective description of BMO.ObjectivesTo develop a more objective and efficient method based on radiomics to evaluate BMO of the SIJs by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in patients with axSpA in comparison with Spondyloarthritis Research Consortium of Canada (SPARCC) scoring system.MethodsFrom September 2013 to July 2021, 523 patients with axSpA underwent 3.0T SIJ-MRI were included, who were randomly classified as training cohort(n=367) and validation cohort(n=156). The optimal radiomics features, selected from the 3.0T SIJ-MRI in the training cohort, were included to build the radiomics model. Four clinical risk predictors were adopted to build the clinical model. The performance of the clinical and radiomics models was evaluated by ROC analysis and decision curve analysis (DCA). Rad-scores were calculated by the radiomics model and SPARCC scores were performed to quantify the BMO of SIJs. We also assessed the correlation between Rad-score and SPARCC score.ResultsThe radiomics model, built by 15 optimal features, showed favorable discrimination about SPARCC score <2 or ≥2 both in the training (AUC, 0.91; 95% CI: 0.88-0.94) and the validation cohort (AUC, 0.89; 95% CI, 0.84-0.94). DCA confirmed that the radiomics model was clinically useful. Furthermore, Rad-score has significant correlation with SPARCC score for scoring the status of BMO (rs=0.78, P< 0.001), and moderation correlation for scoring the change (r=0.40, P=0.005).ConclusionThe radiomics can accurately assess the BMO of the SIJs in axSpA, providing an alternative to SPARCC scoring system. Abstract
The spatiotemporal characteristics and sources identification of agricultural nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) emissions to the gulf are rarely reported in tropical regions of China, mainly due to the lack of local reliable data and quantitative tools for spatiotemporal changes. In this study, we constructed a high-resolution NUFER (NUtrient Flow in food chains, Environment and Resources use) model based on geology, meteorology, land use data, statistical data, and field investigation to quantify the spatiotemporal characteristics and sources of N and P emissions. Bamen Bay (BMB), a bay with a mangrove national wetland Park in the Hainan Island, China, was chosen as a case study. The results showed that agricultural N emission to water in 2018 increased fivefold compared to 1990. Leaching was the main method of agricultural N emission and was mainly distributed in farms in the west and north. The contribution of N emission from crop system to water increased 20.3% in 28 years. Poultry and fruits have contributed the most to N output, and the trend is continuing. P emission to water increased sevenfold compared 1990. The contribution of P emission from animal system to water increased from 86.8% in 1990 to 90.1% in 2018 due to low removal rate of livestock manure. P emission was mainly via direct discharge of manure, mainly distributed in livestock breeding sites near the bay. Poultry has consistently contributed the most to P output in 28 years, accounting for 49.1% in 2018. Fertilizers and fodder were the largest sources of N and P. The average N and P loss rates of BMB were 5.32 t km2 yr-1 and 0.26 t km2 yr-1. The future agricultural transformation is essential, and it is necessary to reduce the application of N fertilizer and increase the removal rate of livestock manure. These results can provide reference for other typical agricultural pollution bays in exploring the spatiotemporal characteristics of N and P emissions to water and the identification of agricultural sources.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Cognitive impairment commonly occurs among older people worldwide. Although the Mediterranean-DASH Intervention for Neurodegenerative Delay (MIND) diet was associated with better cognitive function and lower risk of cognitive impairment, it could not be applied to older Chinese due to the traditional dietary characteristics in China. We aimed to develop the Chinese version of the MIND (cMIND) diet and verify its association with cognitive impairment among older Chinese individuals. DESIGN A cross-sectional study. SETTING AND PARTICIPANTS We included a total of 11,245 participants from the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Study (CLHLS) follow-up survey in 2018. The mean age of the participants at study baseline was 84.06 (±11.46) years. MEASUREMENTS We established the cMIND diet based on current evidence in the diet-cognition field, combined with Chinese dietary characteristics. The verification of its association with cognitive impairment was conducted using the data from the CLHLS follow-up survey. Adherence to the cMIND diet was assessed by the cMIND diet score, which was calculated from a food frequency questionnaire. Cognitive impairment was identified by the Mini-Mental State Examination. Instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) disability was defined according to the self-reported performance of eight activities. RESULTS The cMIND diet comprised 11 brain-healthy food groups and 1 unhealthy food group. The median cMIND diet score of all participants was 4.5 (from a total of 12 points) and the prevalence of cognitive impairment was 15.2%. Compared with the lowest tertile, the highest tertile score was associated with lower odds of cognitive impairment (odds ratio (OR)=0.60, 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.51-0.72) and IADL disability (OR=0.86, 95% CI: 0.75-0.98) in the full-adjusted model. CONCLUSION We developed the cMIND diet that was suitable for older Chinese individuals, and our results suggested that higher adherence to the cMIND diet was associated with reduced odds of cognitive impairment and IADL disability. In view of the limitations of cross-sectional design in the study, further research is clearly warranted.
