Abstract
In the title Schiff base tetranuclear copper(II) complex, two discrete environments are present in the structure: CuNO4 and CuNO3. Two copper(II) cations are situated in distorted square-pyramidal environment, while two copper(II) cations are located in a slightly square-planar geometry. One bridging acetate group acting in an η1:η1-μ2-mode connects two copper(II) ions, while another bridging acetate group connects three copper(II) ions in an η1:-η2–μ3-mode. The title molecular structure, namely, (μ3-acetato)(μ2-acetato)bis(μ3-1,3-bis{[1-(2-oxidophenyl)ethylidene]amino}propan-2-olato)tetracopper(II) monohydrate, [Cu4(C19H19N2O3)2(CH3CO2)2]·H2O, corresponds to a non-symmetric tetranuclear copper complex. The complex exhibits one ligand molecule that connects two copper CuII metal centres via its ethanolato oxygen anion acting in a μ2-mode and one ligand molecule that connects three copper CuII metal centres via its ethanolato oxygen anion acting in a μ3-mode. One bridging acetate group acting in an η1:η1-μ2-mode connects two copper(II) ions while another bridging acetate group connects three copper(II) ions in an η1:-η2-μ3-mode. A chair-like Cu3O3 structure is generated in which the two CuO4N units are connected by one μ2-O ethanolate oxygen atom. These two units are connected respectively to the CuO3N unit via one μ3-O ethanolate oxygen atom and one μ2-O atom from an acetate group. The μ3-O atom also connects one of the CuO4N units and the CuO3N unit to another CuO3N unit, which is out of the chair-like structure. Each of the two pentacoordinated CuII cations has a distorted NO4 square-pyramidal environment. The geometry of each of the two CuNO3 units is best described as a slightly square-planar environment. A series of intramolecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds is observed. In the crystal, the units are connected by intermolecular C—H⋯O and O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds, thus forming sheets parallel to the ac plane

Abstract
The title mol-ecular structure, namely, di-aqua-tris-(μ3-1,3-bis-{[1-(2-oxidophen-yl)ethyl-idene]amino}-propan-2-olato)-μ3-hydroxido-dinitrato-hexa-copper(II) ethanol tris-olvate, [Cu6(C19H19N2O3)3(NO3)2(OH)(H2O)2]·3C2H5OH, corres-ponds to a non-symmetric hexa-nuclear copper complex. The complex exhibits one core in which three CuII metal centres are mutually inter-connected, two by two, via three phenolato oxygen anions acting in a μ2-mode. These three copper cations are inter-connected in a μ3-mode by one hydroxyl group. An open-cube structure is generated in which each of the CuII cations of the three CuO4N units is connected by two μ2-O anions from phenolate groups and one μ3-O atom from a hy-droxy anion. Each of the three penta-coordinated CuII cations situated in the open-cube unit has a distorted NO4 square-pyramidal environment. Each of these three CuII centres is inter-connected with another CuII cation via one enolate O atom in μ2-mode, yielding one CuNO4 unit and two CuNO3 units. The penta-coordinated CuII atom has a distorted square-pyramidal environment while the two tetra-coordinated copper(II) cations are situated in a square-planar environment. A series of intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are observed. In the crystal, the units are connected two by two by inter-molecular C-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, thus forming sheets parallel to the ac plane.

Synthesis, Structure, and Magnetic Properties of Linear Trinuclear CuII and NiII Complexes of Porphyrin Analogues Embedded with Binaphthol Units. Symmetry (Basel) 2020. Abstract
A porphyrin analogue embedded with (S)-1,1′-bi-2-naphthol units was synthesized without reducing optical purity of the original binaphthol unit. This new macrocyclic ligand provides the hexaanionic N4O4 coordination environment that enables a linear array of three metal ions. That is, it provides the square planar O4 donor set for the central metal site and the distorted square planar N2O2 donor set for the terminal metal sites. In fact, a CuII3 complex with a Cu(1)–Cu(2) distance of 2.910 Å, a Cu(1)–Cu(2)–Cu(1′) angle of 174.7°, and a very planar Cu2O2 diamond core was obtained. The variable-temperature 1H-NMR study of the CuII3 complex showed increasing paramagnetic shifts for the naphthyl protons as temperature increased, which suggests strong antiferromagnetic coupling of CuII ions. The temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibility indicated antiferromagnetic coupling both for the CuII3 complex (J = −434 cm−1) and for the NiII3 complex (J = −49 cm−1). The linear (L)M(µ-OR)2M(µ-OR)2M(L) core in a rigid macrocycle cavity made of aromatic components provides robust metal complexes that undergo reversible ligation at the apical sites of the central metal.

Abstract
The title linear trinuclear copper(II) complex, [Cu3(C17H20N2O2)2Cl2], was obtained from N,N′-bis(2-hydroxybenzyl)-1,3-propanediamine and CuCl2. The overall charge of the three Cu2+ ions is balanced by four deprotonated phenol groups and two Cl− ligands. The complex is centrosymmetric with the central Cu2+ occupying a special position (). This Cu2+ ion is coordinated by the four phenolate O atoms in a square-planar fashion. The second Cu2+ occupies a general position in a square-pyramidal fashion. Two phenolate O atoms and two amine N form the basal plane, with Cl− ligands occupying the fifth coordination site.

Abstract
A new sugar-derived Schiff's base ligand N-(3-tert-butyl-2-hydroxybenzylidene)-4,6-O-ethylidene-beta-D-glucopyranosylamine (H3L1) has been developed which afforded the coordinatively labile, alcoholophilic trinuclear Cu(II) complex [Cu3(L1)2(CH3OH)(H2O)] (1). Complex 1 has been further used in the synthesis of a series of alcohol-bound complexes with a common formula of [Cu3(L1)2(ROH)2] (R = Me (2), Et (3), nPr (4), nBu (5), nOct (6)). X-ray structural analyses of complexes 2-6 revealed the collinearity of trinuclear copper(II) centers with Cu-Cu-Cu angles in the range of 166-172 degrees . The terminal and central coppers are bound with NO3 and O4 atoms, respectively, and exhibit square-planar geometry. The trinuclear structures of 2-6 can be viewed as the two {Cu(L1)}- fragments capture a copper(II) ion in the central position, which is further stabilized by a hydrogen-bonding interaction between the alcohol ligands and the sugar C-3 alkoxo group. Complex 2 exhibits a strong antiferromagnetic interaction between the Cu(II) ions (J = -238 cm(-1)). Diffusion of methanol into a solution of complex 1 in a chloroform/THF mixed solvent afforded the linear trinuclear complex [Cu(3)(L1)2(CH3OH)2(THF)2] (7). The basic structure of 7 is identical to complex 2; however, THF binding about the terminal coppers (Cu-O(THF) = 2.394(7) and 2.466(7) A) has introduced the square-pyramidal geometry, indicating that the planar trinuclear complexes 2-6 are coordinatively unsaturated and the terminal metal sites are responsible for further ligations. In the venture of proton-transfer reactions, a successful proton transfer onto the saccharide C-3 alkoxo group has been achieved using 4,6-O-ethylidene-d-glucopyranose, resulting in the self-assembled tetranuclear complex, [Cu4(HL1)4] (8), consisting of the mononuclear Cu(II) chiral building blocks, {Cu(HL1)}.

Abstract
A copper(II) neocuproine system has been developed for the efficient and very selective 1,6-addition of a nucleophile to the para-methyl group of 2,4,6-trimethylphenol. Crystallographic and spectroscopic data point towards the involvement of a micro-methoxo-micro-phenoxo-bridged copper species which appears to generate a highly reactive quinone methide intermediate that can be attacked by a nucleophilic reagent.

Abstract
Copper(II) complexes (1-3) of a sterically constrained phenol-based tetradentate N(2)O(2) ligand 1,4-bis(2-hydroxy-3,5-dimethylbenzyl)piperazine (H(2)L) have been reported. The associated anions of the copper(II) ion precursors have profound influence on the stoichiometry of the products. Thus, with perchlorate ion, the product is a binuclear compound [Cu(2)L(2)] (1), while with coordinating anions viz. Cl(-) and N(3)(-), the products [Cu(3)L(2)Cl(2)(H(2)O)].1/2H(2)L (2) and [Cu(3)L(2)(N(3))(2)(CH(3)OH)].4H(2)O (3) have triangulo trinuclear composition. The syntheses, X-ray structures, and spectroscopic and magnetic properties of these complexes are described. Compound 1 has a noncentrosymmetric structure with a rectangular Cu(2)(OPh)(2) core. It appears to be a rare example of a phenolato-bridged Cu(II) dimer exhibiting ferromagnetic interactions (J = 0.93 cm(-)(1)), a behavior in agreement with the theoretical predictions but seldom observed experimentally. In compounds 2 and 3, the copper centers are triangularly disposed, and the molecules have a shape much like that of a butterfly. The terminal copper centers Cu(1) and Cu(2) in 2 and 3 have distorted square pyramidal geometry, connected to each other by a bridging chloro- (in 2) or azido ligand (in 3) in "end to end" fashion. The central copper center (Cu(3) in 2 and Cu in 3) in both the compounds has distorted square planar geometry. The separations between the metal centers, viz. Cu(1)...Cu(2), Cu(2)...Cu(3), and Cu(3)...Cu(1), are 4.826, 3.214, and 3.244 A, respectively, in 2. The corresponding distances in 3 are 5.590, 3.178, and 3.485 A, respectively. The overall magnetic behaviors in 2 and 3 are consistent with antiferromagnetic interactions between the spin centers. In 3, the exchange couplings between the terminal and central copper centers J(Cu(1))(-)(Cu) and J(Cu(2))(-)(Cu) appear to be equal (-234 cm(-)(1)), resulting in an S = (1)/(2) ground state at temperatures near or below 77 K.
