Abstract
A radical chain isomerization of N-sulfonyl ynamides to isolable ketenimines is developed, featuring mild reaction conditions, a high efficiency, ∼100% atom economy, a broad substrate scope, and column chromatography-free workup in most cases. Meanwhile, an unprecedented dearomatization of furans is achieved by the radical chain isomerization-triggered aza-Claisen rearrangement, providing highly chemo-, regio-, stereo-, and diastereoselective access to functionalized quaternary nitriles.

Abstract
Hybrid molecules consisting of steroid-imidazolium salts reveal interesting biological properties, especially regarding antimicrobial activities. Novel dehydroepiandrosterone derived imidazolium salts (11 salts) with side chains of different lengths were obtained in an efficient and straightforward synthetic route. Antimicrobial properties of new salts were examined by determining their minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs). They were studied against several strains of bacteria, including clinical isolates of MRSA, and fungi. New compounds showed high activity against Gram-positive bacteria and Candida albicans as well as good compatibility with the representatives of the host cells when applied at concentrations corresponding to MIC value. The studies indicated high antimicrobial efficacy of imidazolium salts against the above-mentioned microorganisms with low hemolytic activity at a concentration that restricts the growth of the microorganisms. The interference of salts with the immune defense system, the influence on the biological activity of monocytes/macrophages measured by their viability and metabolic activity was also studied. The new compounds have shown immunoprotective properties.

Abstract
A series of N-substituted (Z)-2-imino-(5Z)-ylidene thiazolidines/thiazolidin-4-ones were synthesized and their antiproliferative activities against colon (HCT-116) and breast (MCF7) cancer cell lines were evaluated utilizing an MTT growth assay. A 2D-QSAR investigation was conducted to probe and validate the obtained antiproliferative properties for the thiazolidine derivatives. The majority of the thiazolidines exhibit higher potency against a colon cancer cell line relative to the standard reference. The p-halophenylimino p-anisylidene derivatives exhibited the highest anti-proliferative activity against HCT116 relative to control (IC50 = 8.9-10.0 μM compared to 20.4 μM observed for 5-fluorouracil as positive control). An X-ray study confirmed the Z, Z'-configurations for two examples of the synthesized compounds.

Abstract
Propargylamines are a versatile class of compounds which find broad application in many fields of chemistry. This review aims to describe the different strategies developed so far for the synthesis of propargylamines and their derivatives as well as to highlight their reactivity and use as building blocks in the synthesis of chemically relevant organic compounds. In the first part of the review, the different synthetic approaches to synthesize propargylamines, such as A3 couplings and C-H functionalization of alkynes, have been described and organized on the basis of the catalysts employed in the syntheses. Both racemic and enantioselective approaches have been reported. In the second part, an overview of the transformations of propargylamines into heterocyclic compounds such as pyrroles, pyridines, thiazoles, and oxazoles, as well as other relevant organic derivatives, is presented.

Abstract
The palladium-catalyzed reaction of α-haloketones with isocyanides afforded α-oxo-ketenimines through β-hydride elimination of the β-oxo-imidoyl palladium intermediates. Reaction of these relatively stable α-oxo-ketenimines with nucleophiles such as hydrazines, hydrazoic acid, amines, and Grignard reagent afforded pyrazoles, tetrazole, β-keto amidines, and enaminone, respectively, with high chemoselectivity. Whereas amines attack exclusively on the ketenimine functions, the formal [3+2] cycloaddition between N-monosubstituted hydrazines and α-oxo-ketenimines was initiated by nucleophilic addition to the carbonyl group.
