Abstract
A convenient, efficient, and green dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction based on the in situ formation of solidified supramolecular solvents combined with high performance liquid chromatography was developed for the determination of four phenylurea herbicides in liquid samples, including monuron, monolinuron, isoproturon, and chlortoluron. Herein, a novel supramolecular solvent was prepared by the in situ reaction of [P4448]Br and NH4PF6, which had the advantages of low melting point, high density, and good dispersibility. In addition, the microscopic morphology and physical properties of supramolecular solvent were characterized, and the extraction conditions were optimized. The results showed that the analytes had good linearity (R2 > 0.9998) within the linear range. The limits of detection and quantification for the four phenylurea herbicides were in the range of 0.13-0.19 μg L-1 and 0.45-0.65 μg L-1, respectively. The prepared supramolecular solvent is suitable for the efficient extraction of phenylurea herbicides in water, fruit juice, and milk.

Abstract
The fate characteristics of isoproturon (IPU) from garlic cultivation to household processing was elucidated by a tracing UHPLC-MS/MS based on the favorable storage stability. The occurrence, pharmacokinetics dissipation and terminal magnitude of IPU were reflected by parameters including original deposition of 31-170 μg kg-1, half-lives of 11.5-19.4 d, and final concentrations of <1.0-250.6 μg kg-1. The processing factors of IPU were further clarified in terms of washing, stir-frying and pickling, with processing factors of 0.008-0.828. The chronic dietary risks (%ADI) were assessed as 1.516-5.242 %, whereas the short-term exposures from green garlic should be continuously emphasized over 99th percentile with unacceptable %ARfD of 147.144-5074.018 %. The acute and chronic risk magnitude significantly decreased by a factor 2.0-125.0 and 2.2-3.3 from raw garlic crops to processed products, respectively. What was noteworthy was the unacceptable acute risks of IPU from green garlic at 99.9th percentile even after a series of processing procedures.

Abstract
Diuron (DR) as a chemical herbicide persists in soil and water for a long time and causes extensive harm to humans. We have produced an excellent monoclonal antibody (mAb) with the ability to sensitively and specifically recognize DR in water and sugarcane samples. The semi-inhibitory concentration (IC50) of this mAb was 0.28 ng mL-1, and the limit of detection (LOD) was 0.07 ng mL-1. Based on the mAb, an immunochromatographic assay (ICA) strip was developed. The visual detection limits of the strip assay were estimated, and the critical values of DR in water and sugarcane samples were determined to be 5 and 10 ng mL-1, respectively, when assessed by the naked eye. The ICA strip was validated by HPLC-MS for water and sugarcane samples which had been spiked with DR. This ICA strip could be a useful tool for in-site and rapid detection of DR in water and sugarcane samples.

Sensitive simultaneous voltammetric determination of the herbicides diuron and isoproturon at a platinum/chitosan bio-based sensing platform. ECOTOXICOLOGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY 2020; 206:111181. Abstract
Phenylurea herbicides are persistent contaminants, which leads their transport to the surface and ground waters, affecting human and aquatic organisms. Different analytical methods have been reported for the detection of phenylureas; however, several of them are expensive, time-consuming, and require complex pretreatment steps. Here, we show a simple method for the simultaneous electrochemical determination of two phenylurea herbicides by differential pulse adsorptive stripping voltammetry (DPAdSV) using a modified platinum/chitosan electrode. The one-step synthesized platinum/chitosan PtNPs/CS was successfully characterized by TEM, XRPD, and FT-IR, and applied through the sensing platform designated as PtNPs/CS/GCE. This bio-based modified electrode is proposed for the first time for the individual and/or simultaneous electrochemical detection of the phenylurea herbicides diuron and isoproturon compounds extensively used worldwide that present a very similar chemical structure. Electrochemical and interfacial characteristics of the modified electrode were evaluated by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). It was found that the oxidation mechanism of diuron and isoproturon occurs in two different pathways, with a peak-to-peak definition of ca. 0.15 V. Under differential pulse adsorptive stripping voltammetry (DPAdSV) optimized conditions, the limit of detection (LOD) was estimated as 7 μg L-1 for isoproturon and 20 μg L-1 for diuron (Ed = +0.8 V; td = 100 s). The proposed method was successfully applied to the determination of both analytes in river water samples, at three different levels, with a recovery range of 90-110%. The employment of the bio-based sensing platform PtNPs/CS/GCE allows a novel and easy analytical method to the multi-component phenylurea herbicides detection.

Abstract
PURPOSE OF REVIEW Environmental pollutants are threat to human beings. Pollutants can lead to human health and environment hazards. The purpose of this review is to summarize the work done on detection of environmental pollutants using DNA nanosensors and challenges in the areas that can be focused for safe environment. RECENT FINDINGS Most of the DNA-based nanosensors designed so far use DNA as recognition element. ssDNA, dsDNA, complementary mismatched DNA, aptamers, and G-quadruplex DNA are commonly used as probes in nanosensors. More and more DNA sequences are being designed that can specifically detect various pollutants even simultaneously in complex milk, wastewater, soil, blood, tap water, river, and pond water samples. The feasibility of direct detection, ease of designing, and analysis makes DNA nanosensors fit for future point-of-care applications. SUMMARY DNA nanosensors are easy to design and have good sensitivity. DNA component and nanomaterials can be designed in a controlled manner to detect various environmental pollutants. This review identifies the recent advances in DNA nanosensor designing and opportunities available to design nanosensors for unexplored pathogens, antibiotics, pesticides, GMO, heavy metals, and other toxic pollutant.

Abstract
Solid-contact ion-selective electrodes (SC-ISEs) have shown great potential for routine and portable ion detection. The introduction of nanomaterials as ion-to-electron transducers and the adoption of different performance-enhancement strategies have significantly promoted the development of SC-ISEs. Herein, new solid-contact ion-selective electrodes, along with the implementation of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) as ion-to-electron transducers and potassium tetrakis (p-chlorophenyl) borate (KTpClB) as lipophilic ionic additives, were presented for the detection of isoproturon (IPU) and diuron (DU) herbicides. Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs), with special molecule recognition properties for isoproturon (IPU) and diuron (DU), were prepared, characterized, and introduced as sensory recognition materials in the presented electrodes. Sensors revealed a near-Nernstian response for both isoproturon (IPU) and diuron (DU) with slopes of 53.1 ± 1.2 (r2 = 0.997) and 57.2 ± 0.3 (r2 = 0.998) over the linear ranges of 2.2 × 10-6-1.0 × 10-3 M and 3.2 × 10-6-1.0 × 10-3 M with detection limits of 8.3 × 10-7 and 1.4 × 10-6 M, respectively. The response time of the presented sensors was found to be <5 s and the lifetime was at least eight weeks. The sensors exhibited good selectivity towards isoproturon (IPU) and diuron (DU) in comparison with some other herbicides, alkali, alkaline earth, and heavy metal ions. The presented sensors were successfully applied for the direct determination of isoproturon (IPU) and diuron (DU) in real water samples.

Abstract
In recent years, there has been an increase in pesticide use to improve crop production due to the growth of agricultural activities. Consequently, various pesticides have been present in the environment for an extended period of time. This review presents a general description of recent advances in the development of methods for the quantification of pesticides used in agricultural activities. Current advances focus on improving sensitivity and selectivity through the use of nanomaterials in both sensor assemblies and new biosensors. In this study, we summarize the electrochemical, optical, nano-colorimetric, piezoelectric, chemo-luminescent and fluorescent techniques related to the determination of agricultural pesticides. A brief description of each method and its applications, detection limit, purpose—which is to efficiently determine pesticides—cost and precision are considered. The main crops that are assessed in this study are bananas, although other fruits and vegetables contaminated with pesticides are also mentioned. While many studies have assessed biosensors for the determination of pesticides, the research in this area needs to be expanded to allow for a balance between agricultural activities and environmental protection.
