Abstract
Halogenated aryl amines are a widely used chemical feedstock in the pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries. Achieving a single regioselective product from the para-selective halogenation of the aryl ring is significantly challenging because of the presence of several C-H bonds with similar reactivities. In this study, single para-halogenated aniline derivatives were prepared by the cascade para-selective halogenation (Cl, Br) and reduction of nitrobenzene derivatives using a mixture of SnCl2/SnCl4 salts. The mechanistic study confirmed that the noncovalent interactions between the chalcogen bond and Sn salt were pivotal for achieving regioselectivity. This synthetic method was applied for the development of potent and highly selective positron emission tomography molecular probes for serotonin transporters.

Abstract
Deep eutectic solvents (DESs) act as both an organic solvent and a useful catalyst for organic synthesis reactions, especially the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds containing the element nitrogen. DESs exhibit many important properties namely large liquid fields, biodegradability, outstanding thermal stability, and moderate vapor pressure. Amorphous carbon-bearing sulfonic acid groups (AC-SO3H) are one of the new-generation solid acids showing strong acid activity. Based on the simultaneous presence of acidic functional groups such as carboxylic acid, phenolic, and sulfonic acid groups, they exhibit many important activities namely strong Brønsted acid, high surface area, high stability, reusability, and recyclability. In this study, AC-SO3H was made from rice husk via the carbonization and sulfonation processes, and the surface properties and structure were examined using contemporary methods such as FT-IR, P-XRD, TGA, SEM, and EDS. And, [Urea]7[ZnCl2]2 was synthesized from urea and ZnCl2 with a mole ratio of 7 : 2; the structure is defined using FT-IR and TGA. By combining AC-SO3H and [Urea]7[ZnCl2]2 we aim to form an effective catalyst/solvent system for the preparation of polysubstituted imidazole derivatives through the multi-component cyclization reaction from nitrobenzenes, benzil, aldehydes, and ammonium acetate. The major products are obtained with high isolation yields above 60%. To assess the catalyst system's activity, the recovery and reusability of the AC-SO3H/[Urea]7[ZnCl2]2 system were examined with hardly any performance modification. In an effort to create potential enzyme α-glucosidase inhibitors, several novel polysubstituted imidazoles were created. Five of these compounds showed good enzyme α-glucosidase inhibitor activity. The most effective substances were IMI-13, IMI-15, and IMI-20, with IC50 values that were greater than the acarbose at 16.5, 15.8, and 11.6 μM, respectively - the acarbose (IC50, 214.5 μM) as the positive control.

Abstract
Previous studies have shown that hydroxyl radicals can be formed at the water-gas surface of water microdroplets. We report the use of in situ generated hydroxyl radicals to carry out an organic transformation in one step, namely, the formation of anilines from aryl acids as well as both ammonia and primary/secondary amines via decarboxylation. Benzoic acids and amines are dissolved in water, and the solution is sprayed to form microdroplets whose chemical contents are analyzed mass spectrometrically. All intermediates and products are determined using mass spectrometry (MS) as well as in some cases tandem mass spectrometry (MS2). These results support the following reaction mechanism: NR2OH, formed via reaction of the amine with •OH, reacts with benzoic acid to form an isocyanate via a Lossen rearrangement. Hydrolysis followed by liberation of CO2 then delivers the aniline product. Notably, the scope of this transformation includes a variety of amines and aromatic acids and enables their conversion into aniline and N-substituted anilines, all in a single step. Additionally, this reaction occurs at room temperature and does not require metal catalysts or organic solvents.

Abstract
Tire and road wear particles (TRWP) account for an important part of the polymer particles released into the environment. There are scientific knowledge gaps as to the potential bioaccessibility of chemicals associated with TRWP to aquatic organisms. This study investigated the solubilization and bioaccessibility of seven of the most widely used tire-associated organic chemicals and four of their degradation products from cryogenically milled tire tread (CMTT) into fish digestive fluids using an in vitro digestion model based on Oncorhynchus mykiss. Our results showed that 0.06-44.1% of the selected compounds were rapidly solubilized into simulated gastric and intestinal fluids within a typical gut transit time for fish (3 h in gastric and 24 h in intestinal fluids). The environmentally realistic scenario of coingestion of CMTT and fish prey was explored using ground Gammarus pulex. Coingestion caused compound-specific changes in solubilization, either increasing or decreasing the compounds' bioaccessibility in simulated gut fluids compared to CMTT alone. Our results emphasize that tire-associated compounds become accessible in a digestive milieu and should be studied further with respect to their bioaccumulation and toxicological effects upon passage of intestinal epithelial cells.

Abstract
In this contribution a physicochemical, IR and Raman characterization for the tin(ii) chloride dihydrate/choline chloride eutectic mixture is reported. The redox properties of this solvent were also studied by cyclic voltammetry finding that it can be successfully used as an electrochemical solvent for electrosynthesis and electroanalytical processes and does not require negative potentials as verified by the reduction of nitrobenzene. The potential use of this eutectic mixture as a redox solvent was further explored in obtaining aromatic amines and N-arylacetamides starting from a wide variety of nitroaromatic compounds. In addition, a fast synthetic strategy for the construction of a series of indolo(pyrrolo)[1,2-a]quinoxalines was developed by reacting 1-(2-nitrophenyl)-1H-indole(pyrrole) with aldehydes. This simple protocol offers a straightforward method for the construction of the target quinoxalines in short reaction times and high yields where the key step involves a tandem one-pot reductive cyclization-oxidation. Physicochemical and redox properties of SnCl2·2H2O/ChCl deep eutectic solvent were studied and applied in the synthesis of anilines, N-arylacetamides and indolo(pyrrolo)[1,2-a]quinoxalines starting from nitroaromatic compounds.![]()

Abstract
Fabrication of non-noble metal-based heterogeneous catalysts by a facile and cost-effective strategy for ecofriendly catalytic transfer hydrogenation (CTH) is of great significance for organic transformations. A cobalt@nitrogen-doped carbon (Co@NC) catalyst was prepared from renewable biomass-derived sucrose, harmless melamine, and earth-abundant Co(AcO)2 as the precursor materials by hydrothermal treatment and carbonization. Co nanoparticles (NPs) were coated with NC shells and uniformly embedded in the NC framework. The as-obtained Co@NC-600 (carbonized at 600 °C) catalyst exhibited excellent catalytic efficiency for CTH of various functionalized nitroarenes with formic acid (FA) as hydrogen donor in aqueous solution. The uniformly incorporated N atoms in the C matrix and the encapsulated Co NPs showed synergistic effects in the CTH reactions. A mechanistic analysis indicated that the protons from FA were activated by Co sites after being captured by N atoms, and then reacted with nitroarenes adsorbed on the surface of the catalysts to generate the corresponding aromatic amines. Moreover, the catalyst showed excellent durability and reusability without obvious decrease in activity even after five reaction cycles. Thus, the study reported herein provides a cost-effective, sustainable strategy for fabrication of biomass-derived non-noble metal-based catalysts for green and efficient catalytic transformations.
