Abstract
PURPOSE To analyse retinal and choroidal microvasculature features in healthy pregnant women using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA). METHODS PubMed, Embase, Ovid, Web of Science and Cochrane Library were searched for published studies that compare retinal and choroidal microvasculature characteristics between pregnant females and non-pregnant females from inception to November 2023. The statistics were continuous variables. They were presented as the mean difference (MD) with a corresponding 95% CI. We used Review Manager software 5.4.1 for statistical analysis. RESULTS A total of 5 eligible studies involving 219 eyes in the pregnancy group and 186 eyes in the control group were included in the meta-analysis. The pooled results showed that the retinal deep capillary plexus vascular density (DCP VD) measured by OCTA was significantly higher in healthy pregnant women than in controls (MD 1.53; 95% CI 0.62 to 2.44; I2=0%; p=0.0009). However, differences between the two groups in the retinal superficial capillary plexus VD (SCP VD) (MD 0.41;95% CI -1.26 to 2.09; I2=85%; p=0.63), the foveal avascular zone (FAZ) (MD 0.01; 95% CI -0.01 to 0.03; I2=14%; p=0.18), the choriocapillaris VD (CC VD) (MD 0.76; 95% CI -1.11 to 2.64; I2=79%; p=0.43) were uncertain. CONCLUSIONS Our meta-analysis found that the DCP VD of healthy pregnant women was higher than that of non-pregnant controls. However, differences in SCP VD, FAZ and CC VD between the healthy pregnant women and the non-pregnancy controls were uncertain. Our findings can help to get a deeper understanding of retinal and choroidal microvascular characteristics during pregnancy.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate choroidal and retinal blood flow and thickness changes using optical coherence tomography and optical coherence tomography angiography during pregnancy. DESIGN Prospective and case-control study between June 2020 and June 2021. METHODS This prospective study included 41 eyes of 41 pregnant females and 45 eyes of 45 healthy nonpregnant females. Ocular perfusion pressure, retinal thickness, choroidal thickness, foveal avascular zone (FAZ) area, superficial and deep capillary plexuses (SCP and DCP, respectively), vessel density (VD), and choriocapillaris (CC) VD measurements were evaluated with optical coherence tomography and optical coherence tomography angiography. RESULTS There was no significant difference in ocular perfusion pressure, retinal thickness, and choroidal thickness during pregnancy. The FAZ area increased as the gestational weeks progressed (p = 0.011). The FAZ area in the first trimester was significantly smaller than that in the control group (p = 0,029). A decrease in the central SCP and DCP VD in the third trimester and an increase in the CC VD during pregnancy were detected (p = 0.01, p < 0.001, and p < 0.001, respectively). We observed an increase in mean VD for both the SCP and DCP in the second trimester (p = 0.02 and p = 0.027, respectively). In the second and third trimesters, the SCP and DCP VD values were found to be significantly higher than in the control group. During the pregnancy, a significant increase in CC VD was detected. CONCLUSION This is the first prospective study in the literature that evaluates the measurements in all trimesters of pregnancy with optical coherence tomography angiography. We observed significant retinal and choroidal microvascular changes between trimesters of pregnancy and when compared with healthy females.

Abstract
PURPOSE To study retinal and choroidal microcirculation by optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) in pregnant women with unexplained recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA) and to compare them with healthy pregnant and nonpregnant subjects. METHODS Pregnant women with an unexplained history of RSA (group 1), healthy pregnant (group 2), and healthy non-pregnant women (group 3) were included in the study. After a thorough ophthalmologic examination:best-corrected visual acuity, intraocular pressure,slit-lamp biomicroscopy, fundus examination,autorefractometer, biometry, and axial length measurement; OCT and OCTA measurements were performed with Swept Source OCT-Angiography (Topcon Co, Japan). RESULTS The nonpregnant group had higher values for central foveal superficial capillary plexus (SCP) and deep capillary plexus (DCP) vessel density (VD) and lower values for superior, inferior, and mean VD compared with pregnant groups (p < 0.001). Choriocapillaris values (CC) VD were higher in groups 1 and 2 than in group 3 (p < 0.001). The group with unexplained RSA had a relatively smaller FAZ (foveal avascular zone) area than the group of healthy pregnant women (p:0.047). There were no statistically significant differences between groups in the retina, retinal nerve fiber layer, ganglion cell layer, and choroidal thickness (p > 0.05). CONCLUSION Although our study did not identify any etiology in pregnant women with RSA, we observed detectable differences in FAZ area and vessel density values using OCTA, when comparing them with healthy pregnant women and healthy nonpregnant controls. We believe that OCTA, as used in many pathologies such as diabetic and hypertensive retinopathy and retinal vascular occlusion, can also be extended to unexplained RSA both to detect etiology and to monitor treatment in studies with a larger number of patients.

Abstract
PURPOSE The aim of our study was to evaluate changes in the retinal and choriocapillaris circulations in patients with hypothalamic amenorrhea. METHODS Prospective, cross-sectional observational study on 25 patients (50 eyes) diagnosed with hypothalamic amenorrhea and 25 age-matched healthy women. Optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) was used to evaluate the vessel density (VD) of superficial capillary plexus (SCP), deep capillary plexus (DCP), and choriocapillaris VD layers in whole 6.4 × 6.4-mm image and in fovea grid-based image. In patients' group, systemic parameters were collected: body mass index (BMI), endometrial rhyme thickness, follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), prolactin, insulin, and cortisol. RESULTS SCP and DCP did not show any statistical difference when comparing patients and controls (all p > 0.05). Differently, choriocapillaris VD in the whole region showed a non-significant tendency toward higher values in the patients group in both eyes (p = 0.038 for right eye [RE], p = 0.044 for left eye [LE]). Foveal choriocapillaris VD was higher in hypothalamic amenorrhea women vs. healthy controls (66.0 ± 2.4 vs. 63.7 ± 6.6%, p = 0.136 for RE; 65.0 ± 2.4 vs. 61.6 ± 7.0%, p = 0.005 for LE). Focusing on correlation with systemic parameters, SCP and DCP foveal density had a medium/high effect size with endometrial rhyme, along with DCP in the fovea area vs. cortisol and SCP in the whole area vs. FSH. CONCLUSION When comparing hypothalamic amenorrhea patients to healthy subjects, OCTA detected changes in the choriocapillaris layer, showing increased VD in the early stage of the systemic pathology, suggesting that microvascular "compaction" could be a first phase of hypoestrogenism adaptation.

Abstract
BACKGROUND To investigate microvascular changes in pregnant women with preeclampsia using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) and compare the results with healthy pregnant and non-pregnant subjects. METHODS Superficial capillary plexus (SCP), deep capillary plexus (DCP) choriocapillaris (CC) vessel density (VD) and foveal avascular zone area (FAZ), retina, retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL), the ganglion cell layer (GCL) and the choroidal thickness were examined and compared in preeclamptic pregnant (group 1), healthy pregnant women (group 2) and non-pregnant, age-matched female controls (group 3). The correlations of the parameters with each other and with blood pressure were evaluated. RESULTS No significant difference was found between the groups when retinal, RNFL and GCL thickness values (p> 0.05). The choroidal thickness values were significantly lower in group 1 than in group 2 (p = 0.029). The central foveal VD of the SCP and DCP was significantly lower in group 1 compared to groups 2 and 3 (p = 0.03, p< 0.01 respectively). The mean VD of the SCP was significantly higher in groups 1 and 2 than in group 3 (p = 0.01). The FAZ area was statistically significantly lower in group 3 than in group 2 (p = 0.032). The CC VD was lower in group 3 compared to the other groups in all measurements (p < 0.01).The FAZ area was positively correlated with systolic blood pressure in group 1. CONCLUSION The use of OCTA, a non-invasive imaging technique, to assess the retinal microcirculation appears to have the potential to in the early diagnosis or follow up in preeclampsia before signs of hypertensive retinopathy.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Early prediction of preeclampsia (PE) is of universal importance in controlling the disease process. Our study aimed to assess the feasibility of using retinal fundus images to predict preeclampsia via deep learning in singleton pregnancies. METHODS This prospective cohort study was conducted at Shanghai First Maternity and Infant Hospital, Tongji University School of Medicine. Eligible participants included singleton pregnancies who presented for prenatal visits before 14 weeks of gestation from September 1, 2020, to February 1, 2022. Retinal fundus images were obtained using a nonmydriatic digital retinal camera during their initial prenatal visit upon admission before 20 weeks of gestation. In addition, we generated fundus scores, which indicated the predictive value of hypertension, using a hypertension detection model. To evaluate the predictive value of the retinal fundus image-based deep learning algorithm for preeclampsia, we conducted stratified analyses and measured the area under the curve (AUC), sensitivity, and specificity. We then conducted sensitivity analyses for validation. RESULTS Our study analyzed a total of 1138 women, 92 pregnancies developed into hypertension disorders of pregnancy (HDP), including 26 cases of gestational hypertension and 66 cases of preeclampsia. The adjusted odds ratio (aOR) of the fundus scores was 2.582 (95% CI, 1.883-3.616; P < 0.001). Otherwise, in the categories of prepregnancy BMI less than 28.0 and at least 28.0, the aORs were 3.073 (95%CI, 2.265-4.244; P < 0.001) and 5.866 (95% CI, 3.292-11.531; P < 0.001). In the categories of maternal age less than 35.0 and at least 35.0, the aORs were 2.845 (95% CI, 1.854-4.463; P < 0.001) and 2.884 (95% CI, 1.794-4.942; P < 0.001). The AUC of the fundus score combined with risk factors was 0.883 (sensitivity, 0.722; specificity, 0.934; 95% CI, 0.834-0.932) for predicting preeclampsia. CONCLUSION Our study demonstrates that the use of deep learning algorithm-based retinal fundus images offers promising predictive value for the early detection of preeclampsia.

Abstract
PURPOSE This study seeks to build a normative database for the vessel density of the superficial retina (SVD) and evaluate how changes and trends in the retinal microvasculature may be influenced by age and axial length (AL) in non-glaucomatous eyes, as measured with optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA). METHODS We included 500 eyes of 290 healthy subjects visiting a county hospital. Each participant underwent comprehensive ophthalmological examinations and OCTA to measure the SVD and thickness of the macular and peripapillary areas. To analyze correlations between SVD and age or AL, multivariable linear regression models with generalized estimating equations were applied. RESULTS Age was negatively correlated with the SVD of the superior, central, and inferior macular areas and the superior peripapillary area, with a decrease rate of 1.06%, 1.36%, 0.84%, and 0.66% per decade, respectively. However, inferior peripapillary SVD showed no significant correlation with age. AL was negatively correlated with the SVD of the inferior macular area and the superior and inferior peripapillary areas, with coefficients of -0.522%/mm, -0.733%/mm, and -0.664%/mm, respectively. AL was also negatively correlated with the thickness of the retinal nerve fiber layer and inferior ganglion cell complex (p = 0.004). CONCLUSION Age and AL were the two main factors affecting changes in SVD. Furthermore, AL, a relative term to represent the degree of myopia, had a greater effect than age and showed a more significant effect on thickness than on SVD. This relationship has important implications because myopia is a significant issue in modern cities.

Abstract
PURPOSE OF REVIEW This article summarizes the impact of pregnancy on neuro-ophthalmic pathways and presents an approach to the evaluation of pregnant women who have neuro-ophthalmic symptoms or signs. RECENT FINDINGS Advances in noninvasive ophthalmic imaging have increased knowledge of the impact of pregnancy on ocular blood flow, which may have relevance for understanding the impact of preeclampsia and eclampsia on the eye. SUMMARY The framework for approaching neuro-ophthalmic symptoms and signs in pregnant women is similar to the general approach for people who are not pregnant. Visual symptoms are common in preeclampsia and eclampsia. Some diseases that impact the neuro-ophthalmic pathways are more common in pregnant women. Pregnancy should be considered when recommending the workup and treatment for neuro-ophthalmic symptoms and signs.

Abstract
Cardiovascular (CV) disease (CVD) is the main cause of death around the world, and assessing a patient's CV risk factors (CVRF) can play a major role in its prevention. Since it has been shown that retinal vascular alterations may reflect several systemic processes such as CVRF, we conducted a systematic review in order to summarize which ocular microvasculature changes can be found using Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography (OCTA) in patients without ocular diseases and with systemic pathologies/conditions that affect the CV system when compared to healthy subjects. We searched on online databases, namely PubMed, Scopus, Cochrane and Web of Science, and obtained additional studies through citation tracking. Case reports and review articles were excluded. A total of 47 articles were included in our review. We describe that patients with hypertension, diabetes mellitus, kidney disease, preeclampsia, coronary artery disease, carotid artery stenosis and obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome have, in general, lower retinal and choroidal Vessel Density (VD) and Length (VL), as well as an increased foveal avascular zone area and perimeter. Additionally, several characteristics and/or conditions in healthy subjects, such as smoking status, hyper or hypoxia conditions, race, among others, are also related to ocular vascular changes and should be accounted for. We concluded that OCTA could be a useful tool to assess a patient's CV risk profile in a non-invasive way, possibly integrating the diagnostic and prognostic algorithms of the most prevalent CV diseases in the future.

Abstract
Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between optical coherence tomography (OCT) and optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) parameters in a healthy population and to detect any changes that occur with age. Methods: A total of 100 healthy participants were included in this prospective, observational, and comparative study. The participants were categorized in 4 groups according to age: Group 1: 21-30 years, Group 2: 31-40 years, Group 3: 41-50 years, Group 4: 51-60 years of age. Mean macular thickness, retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL), ganglion cell inner plexiform layer (GC-IPL), and the choroidal thickness (ChT), vessel density (VD), perfusion density (PD), foveal avascular zone (FAZ), and parapapillary perfusion density parameters were recorded and analyzed. Results: In comparisons between groups, no significant difference in OCTA parameters was observed. There were inverse correlations between the outer VD, PD, and intraocular pressure (IOP) (r= -0.307, p=0.006 and r= -0.284, p=0.011, respectively). The correlation between parapapillary perfusion density and IOP was close to being significant (r= -0.213, p=0.059). There were significant relationships between OCTA parameters and macular, RNFL, and GC-IPL thickness. No significant relationship between ChT and OCTA parameters was seen. Conclusion: The size and characteristics of superficial VD, PD, parapapillary perfusion density, and FAZ were determined in a population with standardized demographic and ocular clinical features, and the relationship between these parameters and retinal layers was established.

Abstract
Diabetes and gestational diabetes (GD) are areas of concern worldwide. GD can eventually lead to serious development of diabetic retinopathy (DR) during pregnancy or worsening of an already existing DR. GD confers future risk of diabetes, both in the mother and fetus, further complicating their lives. DR in pregnant women has been intriguing in terms of understanding the prevalence, assessing risk factors causing pathogenesis, and problems associated with treating them. Pregnancy itself is a risk factor for progression of DR. Physiological changes such as metabolic, vascular, immunologic, and hormonal changes that occur during pregnancy can cause development as well as worsening of DR. This can eventually lead to permanent visual loss if not addressed on time. Timing of laser, choice of treatment for diabetic macular edema with laser, intravitreal anti-vascular endothelial growth factor agents (VEGF), and intravitreal steroids pose a serious challenge in managing these patients without causing damage to the mother and fetus. This review article showcases the prevalence, risk factors, and pathogenesis, outlines the management of DR in pregnancy, and recommends guidelines based on the available evidence. PubMed and MEDLINE searches were performed pertaining to the prevalence of GD in India, DR in pregnancy, risk factors for progression of DR, role of vasoactive mediators in DR, role of angiopoietic factors in DR, hormonal influence of DR, role of growth factors in DR, use of fluorescein and indocyanine green angiography, retinal lasers, anti-VEGF agents, intravitreal steroids, anesthesia, and retinal surgery, all pertaining to pregnancy and guidelines and recommendations for managing DR in pregnancy.

Abstract
Purpose To compare retinal vascular parameters between high‐risk and low‐risk pregnant women over time during pregnancy. Methods In a longitudinal study, we included pregnant women with normal blood pressure and normal body mass index (BMI, group 1), pregnant women with systemic hypertension and/or overweight (group 2) and age‐matched nonpregnant healthy women (group 3). Using the dynamic vessel analyser (DVA) we investigated flicker‐induced vasodilation in retinal arteries (FLA) and veins (FLV), central retinal arterial and vein equivalent (CRAE, CRVE), arterio‐venous ratio (AVR) and retinal arterial and venous oxygen saturation (SartO2, SveinO2). Study visits were scheduled 2nd trimester (TP 2), 3rd trimester (TP 3) and postpartum (PP). Results Data from 29 women in group 1, 25 women in group 2 and 33 women in group 3 were included for analysis. FLA, FLV, CRAE, CRVE, AVR and SveinO2 were altered in group 2 (p‐values between < 0.001 and 0.009). At TP 3 the differences between groups were most pronounced. In contrast, there were only minor differences between group 1 and 3. Changes in retinal parameters were independently associated with systemic blood pressure and BMI. Conclusions The present analysis indicates that flicker‐induced retinal vasodilation, retinal vessel diameters and retinal oxygen saturation are altered in high‐risk pregnant women. Hence, these parameters are candidate biomarkers for pregnancy complications, a hypothesis that deserves further study.

Abstract
Purpose To evaluate the effects of the menstrual cycle on the retinal vascular status of healthy women by optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA). Materials and Methods Healthy women with regular natural menstrual cycles of 28 to 30 days were recruited for this prospective study. The women's retinal vascular status was measured by OCTA at 3 time points: the early follicular, ovulatory, and midluteal phases of the menstrual cycle. The main outcome measures were foveal avascular zone (FAZ) parameters, perfusion density (PD) percentage in the superficial retinal capillary plexus (SCP), and PD percentage in the deep retinal capillary plexus (DCP). The mean arterial pressure (MAP), spherical equivalent (SE), best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), intraocular pressure (IOP), and axial (AL) were also measured in a same menstrual cycle. Results In total, 62 right eyes of 62 women were included in the study. The mean age was 27.0 ± 1.73 (range, 24 to 31) years, and the mean menstrual cycle was 28.90 ± 0.84 (range, 28 to 30) days. The mean values of the DCP-PD parameters were significantly decreased in the nasal and inferior ETDRS subfields during the ovulatory phase. The mean DCP-PD in the nasal ETDRS subfield in the early follicular, ovulatory, and luteal phases was 54.11 ± 2.85, 56.39 ± 3.03, and 55.70 ± 3.27, respectively. The mean DCP-PD in the inferior ETDRS subfield in the early follicular, ovulatory, and midluteal phases was 52.90 ± 3.30, 54.86 ± 2.51, and 55.21 ± 2.64, respectively. No significant differences were found in MAP, SE, AL, IOP, FAZ area, or other quadrants of PD parameters, and no significant correlation was found between parameters by OCTA and age, MAP,SE, axial length, or IOP. Conclusions The DCP-PD decreased in the nasal and inferior ETDRS subfields during the ovulatory phase in our study. This may indicate the need to consider the menstrual phase when interpreting DCP-PD parameters by OCTA in healthy women.

Abstract
Background and Objectives: There is a clear evidence that pregnancy is associated with high production of sex hormones. During the first, second and third trimester of pregnancy, blood hormones levels increase gradually. Cells with affinity for sex hormones have been identified in different ocular tissues, such as: lid, lacrimal gland, meibomian gland, bulbar and palpebral conjunctivae, cornea, iris, ciliary body, lens, retina (retinal pigment epithelium) and choroid. This is why pregnancy is associated with changes at ocular level, involving anterior and posterior segments. Several clinical trials have been made trying to highlight changes in corneal biomechanics during pregnancy. By conducting this review, we want to evaluate both the changes in parameters that define corneal biomechanics and intraocular pressure values in pregnant. Materials and Methods: Following a systematic search in the literature related mainly to changes in corneal biomechanics during pregnancy, focusing on the paper published in the last decade, we included in a meta-analysis the cumulative results of three prospective comparative studies. Results: Important changes in corneal biomechanics (corneal hysteresis and corneal resistance factor) parameters were observed in women in the third trimester of pregnancy, but these variations were not statistically significant. Also, a decrease in intraocular pressure was mentioned in these women, but only the corneal compensation intraocular pressure showed a decrease with statistical significance. Conclusions: A decrease in corneal compensatory intraocular pressure was observed in pregnant women in the third trimester of pregnancy, but without other statistically significant changes resulting from the analysis of the other three parameters (corneal hysteresis, corneal resistance factor and Goldmann-correlated intraocular pressure).

Abstract
Background Retinal capillary is vulnerable to diabetes, whether gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) eyes without clinical retinopathy have capillary abnormalities has not been well studied. To observe the microvasculature changes in eyes of GDM women compared with normoglycemic pregnant women and non-pregnant women by optical coherence tomography-angiography (OCT-A). Methods GDM women, age-matched normoglycemic pregnant women and non-pregnant women were included in this study. All subjects were examined by OCT-A, vascular density and macular foveal parameters were measured automatically. Results Thirty eight non-pregnant women (NC group), thirty pregnant women without GDM (PC group), and thirty one GDM women (GDM group) were included in this study. There was a significant reduction of vascular density in superficial capillary layer, but an increase in deep capillary layer in PC and GDM groups (P < 0.001). When in terms of the average vascular density, the difference was insignificant among these three groups. Although all the measurements were similar between PC and GDM groups, more capillary “dropout” changes were detected in GDM group. Unexpectedly, the abnormal changes of central macular thickness thinning and foveal avascular zone enlargement seen during pregnancy were improved when compared to PC group. Conclusions The changes of vascular density implied the redistribution of capillary network from superficial to deep layer under pregnancy and GDM states. Although the transient hyperglycemia aggravates the changes of capillary “dropout”, GDM group revealed the improvement of central macular thickness thinning and foveal avascular zone enlargement during pregnancy.

Abstract
Purpose: To investigate retinal vascular changes in pregnant women using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA).Materials and Methods: This prospective, cross-sectional study included 97 pregnant women and age-matched 34 healthy control subjects. The OCTA parameters of one eye (left) of pregnancy group and control group were compared. Besides, the OCTA parameters of three trimesters were compared between themselves and the control group. The foveal avascular zone (FAZ) area and the vessel density percentages of the superficial capillary plexus (SCP), deep capillary plexus (DCP), and radial peripapillary capillary (RPC) of all the groups were evaluated by OCTA.Results: In the pregnancy group, the vessel density of DCP was higher in all regions than the control group except the foveal region, but this difference could not reach statistical significance. On the other hand, the vessel density of SCP in the pregnancy group did not show a manifest change in all regions except the foveal region as in DCP. Although the FAZ area was wider in pregnancy group, this difference was not statistically significant (p:0.661). There was no statistically significant difference observed in vessel density of SCP, DCP, and RPC between the different trimesters and the control group, and none of these data correlated with the gestational week.Conclusion: This study showed retinal vascular changes secondary to pregnancy, especially in the vessel density of DCP. These results can provide information that should be taken into account in the evaluation and investigation of pregnancy-specific retinal vascular pathologies.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION The structural and vascular changes in the retina and choroid in women in the third trimester of pregnancy were analyzed using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA). METHODS Forty women in the third trimester of uncomplicated pregnancy and 40 age-matched healthy women were included. Vascular density (VD) in the superficial and deep capillary plexuses (SCP/DCP), foveal density (FD), and foveal avascular zone (FAZ) area and perimetry measured with OCTA, as well as OCT measurements of central macular thickness (CMT) and choroidal thickness (CT) were compared between the groups. Correlations between structural OCT parameters and vascular OCTA metrics were analyzed. RESULTS The mean gestational age was 34 (28-41) weeks. Mean age was comparable in the groups (p = 0.732). The pregnant women had significantly higher parafoveal DCP-VD (p = 0.015), FAZ area (p = 0.044), and FD (p = 0.002). Mean subfoveal CT was 21 µm higher in pregnant women but was not significant (p = 0.472). There was no difference in CMT (p = 0.448). FAZ metrics were positively correlated with CT in pregnants and with CMT in the control group (p < 0.05). Parafoveal VD was negatively correlated with CT in the control group (p < 0.05). After adjusting for CT and CMT, the significant difference in VD and FD persisted (p < 0.05), while the difference in FAZ area lost significance (p > 0.05). CONCLUSIONS Considering the effects of the probable covariant factors CMT and CT, systemic changes in pregnant women in their third trimester may cause an increase in VD in the macula and parafoveal DCP.
