Abstract
Graphene-based nanomaterials with remarkable properties, such as good biocompatibility, strong mechanical strength, and outstanding electrical conductivity, have dramatically shown excellent potential in various applications. Increasing surface area and porosity percentage, improvement of adsorption capacities, reduction of adsorption energy barrier, and also prevention of agglomeration of graphene layers are the main advantages of functionalized graphene nanocomposites. On the other hand, Cerium nanostructures with remarkable properties have received a great deal of attention in a wide range of fields; however, in some cases low conductivity limits their application in different applications. Therefore, the combination of cerium structures and graphene networks has been widely invesitaged to improve properties of the composite. In order to have a comprehensive information of these nanonetworks, this research reviews the recent developments in cerium functionalized graphene derivatives (graphene oxide (GO), reduced graphene oxide (RGO), and graphene quantum dot (GQD) and their industrial applications. The applications of functionalized graphene derivatives have also been successfully summarized. This systematic review study of graphene networks decorated with different structure of Cerium have potential to pave the way for scientific research not only in field of material science but also in fluorescent sensing, electrochemical sensing, supercapacitors, and catalyst as a new candidate.

Abstract
Monitoring human health for early detection of disease conditions or health disorders is of major clinical importance for maintaining a healthy life. Sensors are small devices employed for qualitative and quantitative determination of various analytes by monitoring their properties using a certain transduction method. A "real-time" biosensor includes a biological recognition receptor (such as an antibody, enzyme, nucleic acid or whole cell) and a transducer to convert the biological binding event to a detectable signal, which is read out indicating both the presence and concentration of the analyte molecule. A wide range of specific analytes with biomedical significance at ultralow concentration can be sensitively detected. In nano(bio)sensors, nanoparticles (NPs) are incorporated into the (bio)sensor design by attachment to the suitably modified platforms. For this purpose, metal nanoparticles have many advantageous properties making them useful in the transducer component of the (bio)sensors. Gold, silver and platinum NPs have been the most popular ones, each form of these metallic NPs exhibiting special surface and interface features, which significantly improve the biocompatibility and transduction of the (bio)sensor compared to the same process in the absence of these NPs. This comprehensive review is focused on the main types of NPs used for electrochemical (bio)sensors design, especially screen-printed electrodes, with their specific medical application due to their improved analytical performances and miniaturized form. Other advantages such as supporting real-time decision and rapid manipulation are pointed out. A special attention is paid to carbon-based nanomaterials (especially carbon nanotubes and graphene), used by themselves or decorated with metal nanoparticles, with excellent features such as high surface area, excellent conductivity, effective catalytic properties and biocompatibility, which confer to these hybrid nanocomposites a wide biomedical applicability.

Abstract
Artificial enzyme mimics have gained considerable attention for use in sensing applications due to their high stability and outstanding catalytic activity. We show that cerium oxide nanosheets (NSs) exhibit triple-enzyme mimetic activity. The oxidase-, peroxidase-, and catalase-like activities of the proposed nanoparticles are demonstrated using both colorimetric and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy. On the basis of the excellent catalytic activity of cerium oxide NSs toward hydrogen peroxide, an electrochemical approach for the high-throughput detection of H2O2 in living cells was established. This report presents an analytical microfluidic chip integrated with a cerium oxide NS mimic enzyme for the fabrication of a simple, sensitive, and low-cost electrochemical sensor. Three Au microelectrodes were fabricated on a glass substrate using photolithography, and the working electrode was functionalized using cerium oxide NSs. The operation of this biosensor is based on cerium oxide NSs and presents a high sensitivity over a wide detection range, between 100 nM and 20 mM, with a low detection limit of 20 nM and a high sensitivity threshold of 226.4 μA·cm-2·μM-1. This microfluidic sensor shows a strong response to H2O2, suggesting potential applications in monitoring H2O2 directly secreted from living cells. This sensor chip provides a promising platform for applications in the field of diagnostics and sensing.

Abstract
Recent progress in the field of electroanalysis with metal nanoparticle (NP)-based screen-printed electrodes (SPEs) is discussed, focusing on the methods employed to perform the electrode surface functionalization, and the final application achieved with different types of metallic NPs. The ink mixing approach, electrochemical deposition, and drop casting are the usual methodologies used for SPEs' modification purposes to obtain nanoparticulated sensing phases with suitable tailor-made functionalities. Among these, applications on inorganic and organic molecule sensing with several NPs of transition metals, bimetallic alloys, and metal oxides should be highlighted.

Abstract
An electrochemical nanoaptasensor is described that is based on the use of a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) modified with electrodeposited silver nanoparticles (AgNPs). An aptamer (Apt) against trinitrotoluene (TNT) was then immobilized on the AgNPs. The addition of TNT to the modified GCE leads to decrease in peak current (typically measured at a potential of -0.45 V vs. Ag/AgCl) of riboflavin which acts as an electrochemical probe. Even small changes in the surface (as induced by binding of Apt to TNT) alter the interfacial properties. As a result, the LOD is lowered to 33 aM, and the dynamic range extends from 0.1 fM to 10 μM without sacrificing specificity. Graphical abstract Schematic presentation of a nanoaptasensor which is based on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) modified with electrodeposited silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) and aptamer (Apt). It was applied to the detection of 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT) with the help of riboflavin (RF) as a redox probe.

Abstract
Nitrogen-doped graphene nanosheet (N-SEGN) with pyrrolic nitrogen and 5-9 vacancy defects has been successfully prepared from a hydrothermal reaction of tetra-2-pyridinylpyrazine and sonoelectrochemistry-exfoliated graphene nanosheet, with point defects. Additionally, based on the same reaction using chemically reduced graphene oxide, nitrogen-doped chemically reduced graphene oxide (N-rGO) with graphitic nitrogen was prepared. The N-SEGN and N-rGO were used as a non-enzymatic H2O2 sensors. The sensitivity of the N-SEGN was 231.3 μA·mM-1·cm-2, much greater than 57.3 μA·mM-1·cm-2 of N-rGO. The N-SEGN showed their potential for being a H2O2 sensor.

Abstract
Since an unbalanced excess of reactive oxygen/nitrogen species (ROS/RNS) causes various diseases, determination of antioxidants that can counter oxidative stress is important in food and biological analyses. Optical/electrochemical nanosensors have attracted attention in antioxidant activity (AOA) assessment because of their increased sensitivity and selectivity. Optical sensors offer advantages such as low cost, flexibility, remote control, speed, miniaturization and on-site/in situ analysis. Electrochemical sensors using noble metal nanoparticles on modified electrodes better catalyze bioelectrochemical reactions. We summarize the design principles of colorimetric sensors and nanoprobes for food antioxidants (including electron-transfer based and ROS/RNS scavenging assays) and important milestones contributed by our laboratory. We present novel sensors and nanoprobes together with their mechanisms and analytical performances. Our colorimetric sensors for AOA measurement made use of cupric-neocuproine and ferric-phenanthroline complexes immobilized on a Nafion membrane. We recently designed an optical oxidant/antioxidant sensor using N,N-dimethyl-p-phenylene diamine (DMPD) as probe, from which ROS produced colored DMPD-quinone cationic radicals electrostatically retained on a Nafion membrane. The attenuation of initial color by antioxidants enabled indirect AOA estimation. The surface plasmon resonance absorption of silver nanoparticles as a result of enlargement of citrate-reduced seed particles by antioxidant addition enabled a linear response of AOA. We determined biothiols with Ellman reagent-derivatized gold nanoparticles.
