Abstract
To investigate the association between the mental health of nursing students, the stress of higher education, and academic goal orientation. At a medical college, 1170 nursing students volunteered for this cross-sectional survey. The Warwick-Edinburgh Well-being Scale, the Higher Education Stress Scale, and the Academic Goal Orientation Questionnaire were utilised to collect data. Descriptive statistics, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation analysis were all performed to evaluate the data. The significance level for all statistical tests was p < 0.05. A total of 1126 valid samples, with a 96.23% effective recovery rate. The Higher Education Stress Scale score for nursing students was (38.31 ± 8.29), the Academic Goal Orientation Questionnaire result was (49.32 ± 9.62), and the Mental Health Scale value was (31.24 ± 14.00). Overall, there was a strong relationship between the stress associated with higher education, academic goal orientation, and the mental health of nursing students. Therefore, in future interventions, the Chinese government and its relevant educational authorities can enhance nursing students' ability to reasonably regulate stress related to higher education and set clear academic goals by adjusting the strategies for regulating nursing students' academic stress and increasing the number of academic goal-oriented courses to improve their mental health.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Stress affects many adolescents and is associated with physical and mental health symptoms that can have a negative impact on normative development. However, there are very few evidence-based, specific treatment approaches. The aim of the study was to investigate an eight-session group intervention using components of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) enriched with elements of CBT (psychoeducation, problem solving) and art therapy, compared to a waitlist control (WLC) group, regarding its efficacy in reducing stress and associated symptoms. METHODS We conducted a randomized controlled trial in eight cohorts. Eligible participants were 13-18 years old with elevated stress levels. Via block-randomization (n = 70), participants were allocated to receive ACT (n = 38) or WLC (n = 32) and subsequent ACT. We used a multimodal assessment (self-reports, interviews, ecological momentary assessment, physiological markers) before treatment (T1), after the training of the ACT group (T2) and after subsequent training in the WLC group (T3). Primary outcome was perceived stress at T2 assessed with the Perceived Stress Scale. The trial was preregistered at the German Clinical Trials Register (ID: DRKS00012778). RESULTS Results showed significantly lower levels of perceived stress in the ACT group at T2, illustrating superiority of ACT compared to WLC with a medium to large effect size (d = 0.77). Furthermore, the training was effective in the reduction of symptoms of school burnout and physical symptoms associated with stress. CONCLUSION Indicated prevention, especially when based on the principles of ACT and CBT, seems efficient in significantly decreasing stress in adolescents with increased stress.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The MD POSI is a disease-specific questionnaire to determine the health-related quality of life (HRQoL) of patients with Menière's disease (MD). OBJECTIVES Validity and reliability of the German translation of the MD POSI. MATERIAL AND METHODS Prospective data analysis of a patient group with vertigo (n = 162), which was treated in the otorhinolaryngology of a University Hospital from 2005-2019. A clinical selection was made according to the new Bárány classification in a "definite" and "probable" Menière's disease. HRQoL was assessed using the German translation of the MD POSI, the Vertigo Symptom Score (VSS) and the Short Form (SF-36). Reliability was measured by Cronbach's α and test-retesting after 12 months and again 2 weeks later. Content and agreement validity were examined. RESULTS Cronbach α values greater than 0.9 indicated good internal consistency. There was no statistically significant difference from baseline to 12 months, except for the subscore "during the attack". There were significant positive correlations between the VSS overall/VER/AA and the overall index of the MD POSI and negative significant correlations with the SF-36 domains physical functioning, physical role functioning, social functioning, emotional role functioning, mental well-being. There were low SRM (standardized response mean) values below 0.5. CONCLUSIONS The German translation of the MD POSI is a valid and reliable instrument to evaluate the impact of MD on patients' disease-specific quality of life.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Symptoms of stress are widespread in the working population and associated with long-term sickness absence and poor work functioning. Occupational therapy (OT)-based interventions are effective in improving return-to-work (RTW)-rates in stress-afflicted long-term sickness benefit beneficiaries (SBBs). No Danish standard on OT-RTW for stress-afflicted SSBs exists. AIMS To describe and evaluate the feasibility of a seven-week OT-RTW intervention for stress-afflicted SBBs. MATERIALS AND METHODS Daily Life Coping (DLC) utilizes peer-learning and salutogenetic perspectives to address occupational imbalances experienced by long-term SBBs. Stress-afflicted SBBs (n = 54) in the municipality of Hilleroed were enrolled. Self-efficacy and well-being were measured before and after intervention using the general self-efficacy (GSE) scale and WHO-5 Well-Being Index (WHO-5). RTW-rates were measured at one-year follow-up. Participant feedback was collected using standardized evaluation forms. RESULTS Following the intervention, WHO-5 improved by 13.7 ± 16.5 points and GSE improved by 4.3 ± 4.8 points. Participant feedback was positive. At one-year follow-up, employment status data were available for 51 SSBs of these 58.8% achieved employment. High post-test GSE and WHO-5 scores were associated with employment at follow-up. CONCLUSION DLC led to significant improvements in self-efficacy and well-being. Preliminary results indicate benefits on RTW-rates. SIGNIFICANCE This study provides evidence of the feasibility of DLC in a municipal setting.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Chronic stress is detrimental to health, and children and young people have had to cope with significantly more stress since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. In particular, stress at school and in relation to learning is a major problem in this age group. Studies in Germany have indicated that the pandemic has led to a reduced quality of life (QoL) and an increased risk for psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents. Schools are an ideal setting for interventions against stress, which is one of the strongest predictors for the development of psychosocial problems. The present study seeks to address stress by means of a short prevention training programme in schools, including emotion regulation, mindfulness, and self-compassion. In addition to information material for self-study, students should have the opportunity to actively deal with the topic of stress and develop coping strategies within a short space of time. In contrast to very long stress reduction programmes that often last several weeks, the programme is delivered in just 90 min. METHODS The effectiveness of the short and economical prevention programme LessStress will be examined in a cluster-randomised controlled trial (RCT) encompassing 1894 students. At several measurement time points, students from two groups (intervention and control) will be asked about their subjectively perceived stress levels, among other aspects. Due to the clustered nature of the data, mainly multilevel analyses will be performed. DISCUSSION In Germany, there are no nationwide universal prevention programmes for students against stress in schools, and this gap has become more evident since the outbreak of the pandemic. Universal stress prevention in schools may be a starting point to promote resilience. By dealing with stress in a healthy way, mental health can be strengthened and maintained. Moreover, to reach at-risk students at an early stage, we advocate for a stronger networking between child psychiatry and schools. Abstract
Background School-based mental health promotion aims to strengthen mental health and reduce stress. Results on the effectiveness of such programs are heterogeneous. This study realized a school-based mental health promotion program (StresSOS) for all students and aimed to identify moderators (mental health status, gender, grade level) of pre- to post-changes in stress symptoms and knowledge. Methods Participants were N = 510 adolescents (from 29 classes; 46.7% female) aged 12-18 years (M = 13.88, SD = 1.00; grade levels 7-10). They were without mental health problems (65.9%), at risk for mental health problems (21.6%), or with mental health problems (12.5%) and participated in a 90 min per week face-to-face training with 8 sessions in class at school. Demographic variables, mental health status, stress symptoms, and knowledge about stress and mental health were collected at baseline. Program acceptance, stress symptoms, and knowledge were collected post-intervention. Multilevel mixed effects models were conducted with the fixed effects time (within factor), mental health status, gender, and grade level (between factors). Random effects for students within classes were included. Results In the pre-post comparison, mental health status moderated the changes on psychological stress symptoms (p < 0.05). In adolescents with mental health problems the largest reduction in stress symptoms was observed between pre- and post-assessment. Gender and grade level were less relevant. For all adolescents knowledge gains were revealed (p < 0.001). Program acceptance was moderated by mental health status and grade level (p < 0.01). Mentally healthy adolescents and within the group of adolescents at-risk or with mental health problems, especially younger students (7th/8th grade), rated program acceptance higher. Conclusion Psychological stress symptoms decreased among adolescents with mental health problems and not among adolescents at risk for or without mental health problems. Mental health-related knowledge increased for all adolescents. The results add to knowledge on school-based mental health intervention research and practice. Its implications for different prevention strategies (universal, selective or a combination of both) are discussed.

Abstract
Background: The relevance of the association between mental disorders and other conditions might have been underestimated due to its complexity. Central Serous Chorioretinopathy (CSC) is an ophthalmological disorder associated with many psychiatric factors. The aim of this systematic review is to evaluate the association between mental disorders and CSC. Methods: Articles about studies performed on humans on CSC published in peer-reviewed journals from 1 January 2010 to 31 December 2020 were included in the review. Results: We selected 21 research papers. Nine studies measured stress and anxious depressive symptoms, which are associated with CSC onset and recurrences, emerging as a state marker of the disease. Four out of the five studies focused on sleep disorders suggested a reliable association with CSC. Four studies evaluated other various psychiatric factors. The role of psychopharmacological medication has still not been elucidated (three studies). Conclusion: Multiple pieces of evidence highlights that CSC might arise in the context of systemic disease. This notion, together with the increasing evidence supporting a link between psychiatric disorders and choroidal thickness, suggests that CSC and mental disorders may share some etiopathogenetic pathways. Further research is needed to better investigate possible common etiopathogenetic pathways, especially vascular, immunological and endocrinological systems.

Abstract
AIM We explored the feasibility of a long-term but low-frequency psychological preventive intervention in a high school setting. BACKGROUND High school students may experience depression; psychological interventions to improve social and cognitive skills may be useful to decrease such depression. A long-term but low-frequency intervention may be feasible in this setting because of its minimal time demands and lack of need for specialist human resources DESIGN: We conducted a single-arm longitudinal descriptive study with an intervention applied six times over 2 years in one high school. METHOD We conducted a psychological preventive intervention with 94 high school students in one school for 2 years (April 2014 to March 2016). This intervention aimed to improve social and cognitive skills. We measured social skills, cognitive distortion, and depression five times during the 2-year period, through a self-report scale. RESULTS/FINDINGS Scores for maintaining relationship skills tended to increase over the 2 years. However, depression did not decrease over the intervention period. CONCLUSION Although our research did not include control conditions and the intervention did not decrease depression, the six-session programme for high school adolescents improved an aspect of social skills that is a preventive factor against depression.

Abstract
Nonsuicidal Self-Injury (NSSI) in adolescence is highly prevalent and seems to be on the rise. To deliver evidence-based treatments to a large and growing number of adolescents, it is crucial to provide scaleable, manualized interventions that have the potential to fit into a stepped-care approach. The work by Kaess et al. (2019) was able to show a reduction of NSSI both by the brief intervention "Cutting Down", as well as by regular psychotherapeutic treatment. Future treatment strategies for NSSI should tailor treatment approaches to fit adolescents´ needs.
