Abstract
Auricularia cornea has become one of the most important cultivated mushrooms worldwide. Although not remarkably flavorful, Auricularia species are very versatile and rehydrate easily after drying, adding a unique and pleasing texture to the dishes. In this study, we collected, identified, and domesticated a wild strain of A. cornea from the Brazilian Atlantic Rainforest. The wild strain was evaluated for mycelial growth at different temperatures and substrates, biological efficiency, and nutritional composition. The temperature that best favored the A. cornea mycelium growth was 30 °C, and the substrate was sterile Eucalyptus sawdust. The highest biological efficiency value obtained was 106.90 ± 13.28%. Nutritional analysis showed that the produced wood ears contained 71.02% carbohydrates, 19.63% crude fiber, 11.59% crude protein, 10.19% crude fat, and 4.24% ash on dry matter basis. For the mineral content profile, the elements K and P were the most abundant. This is the first report on cultivation of a wild strain of A. cornea from Brazil.

Abstract
The saprophytic basidiomycete Lentinus crinitus (L.) Fr is a Brazilian native fungus with pantropical occurrence. L. crinitus produces edible fruiting bodies with medicinal, nutritional, and biotechnological applications. The compounds from fungal fruiting bodies can be applied to the preparation of products in the food, cosmetic, biomedical, and pharmaceutical industries. Our aim was to review the literature on L. crinitus concerning its botanical description, geographical distribution, phytochemistry, pharmacological properties, nutritional value, and biotechnology potential (in vitro cultivation and enzyme production). Scientific search engines, including ScienceDirect, CAPES Journals Portal, Google Scholar, PubMed, SciELO, MEDLINE, LILACS, and SciFinder, were consulted to gather data on L. crinitus. The present review is an up-to-date and comprehensive analysis of the phytochemical compounds, phytopharmacological activities, and biotechnological value of L. crinitus. Extracts from L. crinitus have been reported to exhibit numerous in vitro pharmacological activities such as antioxidant, antifungal, antibacterial, antiviral, and anticancer. The substances in these extracts belong to different classes of chemical compounds such as polysaccharides, fatty acids, terpenes, phenolic acids, and flavonoids. Reviews on Brazilian native fungi are of great importance for scientific knowledge, with great applicability as a mirror for species of the same family. The ethnobotanical, phytochemical, pharmacological, ethnomedicinal, and biotechnological properties of L. crinitus highlighted in this review provide information for future studies and commercial exploitation, and reveal that this fungus has enormous potential for pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, biotechnological, and ecological applications.

Abstract
Lentinus crinitus bioaccumulates lithium in mycelia, but bioaccumulation may be affected by pH of the culture medium. Lithium is used in clinical practice as a mood stabilizer and antidepressant. This study aimed to assess the effect of culture medium pH and lithium source (LiCl or Li2CO3) on lithium bioaccumulation in vegetative mycelia of L. crinitus grown in malt extract broth. Lentinus crinitus U9-1 was cultured in malt extract broth supplemented with Li2CO3 or LiCl (50 mg L-1 lithium) in the pH range of 3.0 to 6.0. The pH was adjusted using HCl solution. The results showed that medium pH affected mycelial biomass production, lithium bioaccumulation in mycelial biomass, and lithium transfer from the culture medium to mycelial biomass. The effect of lithium source on the bioaccumulation capacity of mycelial biomass varied according to pH. At pH 4.0, both lithium sources stimulated mycelial biomass production compared to the control without the addition of lithium. At pH 5.5, Li2CO3 provided the highest lithium bioaccumulation in mycelial biomass. Lithium transfer from the culture medium to mycelia was highest in Li2CO3-supplemented cultures at pH 4.5. LiCl reduced hyphal width compared with Li2CO3 and the control. However, pH and lithium sources did not affect the formation of clamp connections in hyphae. For the first time, the influence of the pH of the culture medium on lithium bioaccumulation by Lentinus crinitus is reported. Finally, we conclude that the culture medium pH affected lithium transfer and bioaccumulation in mycelial biomass differently depending on the lithium source. Additionally, we report the presence of clamp connections in the hyphae of L. crinitus as an indicator of even growth.

Abstract
White-rot basidiomycetes such as Lentinus crinitus produce laccases with potential use in dye biodegradation. However, high productivity and enzymes with specific properties are required in order to make viable laccase production. We aimed to produce laccase from Lentinus crinitus grown in sugarcane bagasse for dye decolorization. Solid state cultivation medium had sugarcane bagasse added with a nutrient solution of 10 g/L glucose, 1 g/L KH2PO4, 0.5 g/L MgSO4, 0.001 g/L FeSO4, 0.01 g/L ZnSO4, and 0.01 g/L MnSO4. The addition of different nitrogen sources (peptone, urea, or peptone plus urea) and different nitrogen concentrations (0, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0, and 1.2 g/L) were evaluated. Enzymatic extract was used in the decolorization of azo dyes, reactive blue 220 (RB220) and reactive black 5 (RB5), and anthraquinone dye, Remazol brilliant blue R (RBBR). The greatest laccase activity (4800 U/g dry mass) occurred when the peptone and urea mixture was added to the solid state cultivation medium. When the nitrogen concentration was 1 g/L, the laccase activity increased to 6555 U/g dry mass. The laccase activity peak occurred on the 10th day, and the maximum decolorization within 24 h was observed with enzymatic extracts obtained on different cultivation days, i.e., 6th day for RB220, 10th day for RB5, and 9th day for RBBR. Manganese and lignin peroxidases were not produced when nitrogen was added to the cultivation medium. The crude enzymatic extract was more effective in the decolorization of azo dyes (RB220 and RB5), more than 90% of decolorization, than anthraquinone dye with 77% decolorization.

Abstract
The basidiomycete Lentinus strigellus was cultivated in three different culture media and the secondary metabolites produced under different culture conditions were isolated and identified. When cultivated in a liquid medium with peptone, L. strigellus afforded the benzopyrans, 2,2-dimethyl-6-methoxychroman-4-one, 4-hydroxy-2,2-dimethyl-6-methoxychromane and (3 R,4 S)-3,4-dihydroxy-2,2-dimethyl-6-methoxychromane. The indole alkaloid echinuline and the anthraquinone fiscione, both unprecedented for the genus Lentinus, were isolated from the mycelium of the fungus. When cultured in Czapek medium enriched with potato broth, the fungus afforded the same benzopyrans except (3 S,4 S)-3,4-dihydroxy-2,2-dimethyl-6-methoxychromane. Panepoxydone and isopanepoxydone were also isolated when the microorganism was grown in Czapek medium.

Abstract
RESUMO O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar o crescimento micelial de uma linhagem de Lentinus strigosus, de ocorrência na Amazônia, em cinco meios de cultura à base de malte, serragem de marupá (Simarouba amara), serragem de pau de balsa (Ochroma piramidale), estipe de pupunheira (Bactris gasipaes Kunth) e bagaço de cana-de-açúcar (Saccharum officinarum), submetidos às temperaturas de 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 e 50º C. O delineamento experimental foi inteiramente casualizado, em esquema fatorial 5 x 7. Cada tratamento constou de quatro repetições, correspondente a uma placa de Petri, totalizando 140 unidades experimentais. Verificou-se que a temperatura de 35° C foi a mais favorável para o crescimento micelial de L. strigosus e que o meio à base de estipe de pupunheira foi o mais promissor para o cultivo deste fungo.
