Abstract
Numerous benzothiazole derivatives are used in organic synthesis, in various industrial and consumer products, and in drugs, with a wide spectrum of biological activity. As the properties of the benzothiazole moiety are strongly affected by the nature and position of substitutions, in this review, covering the literature from 2016, we focus on C-2-substituted benzothiazoles, including the methods of their synthesis, structural modification, reaction mechanisms, and possible pharmacological activity. The synthetic approaches to these heterocycles include both traditional multistep reactions and one-pot atom economy processes using green chemistry principles and easily available reagents. Special attention is paid to the methods of the thiazole ring closure and chemical modification by the introduction of pharmacophore groups.

Abstract
Nitrogen-containing heterocycles are important scaffolds for a large number of compounds with biological, pharmaceutical, industrial and optoelectronic applications. A wide range of different methodologies for the preparation of N-heterocycles are based on metal-catalyzed cyclization of suitable substrates. Due to the growing interest in Green Chemistry criteria over the past two decades, the use of supported metal catalysts in the preparation of N-heterocycles has become a central topic in Organic Chemistry. Here we will give a critical overview of all the solid supported metal catalysts applied in the synthesis of N-heterocycles, following a systematic approach as a function of the type of support: (i) metal catalysts supported on inorganic matrices; (ii) metal catalysts supported on organic matrices; (iii) metal catalysts supported on hybrid inorganic-organic matrices. In particular, we will try to emphasize the effective heterogeneity and recyclability of the described metal catalysts, specifying which studies were carried out in order to evaluate these aspects.

Abstract
This work aimed to study the hydrolysis of ionic liquid (IL) pretreated sugarcane tops (SCT) biomass with in-house developed IL-stable enzyme preparation, from a fungal isolate Aspergillus flavus PN3. Maximum reducing sugar yield (181.18 mg/g biomass) was obtained from tris (2-hydroxyethyl) methylammonium-methylsulfate ([TMA]MeSO4) pretreated biomass. Pretreatment parameters were optimized to attain enhanced sugar yield (1.57-fold). Functional mechanism of IL mediated pretreatment of SCT biomass was elucidated by SEM, XRD, FTIR and 1H NMR studies. Furthermore, nanobiocatalysts prepared by immobilization of enzyme preparation by covalent coupling on magnetic nanoparticles functionalized with amino-propyl triethoxysilane, were assessed for their hydrolytic efficacy and reusability. Nanobiocatalysts were examined by SEM and FTIR analysis for substantiation of immobilization. This is the first ever report of application of magnetic nanobiocatalysts for saccharification of IL-pretreated sugarcane tops biomass.

Abstract
Metal nanoparticles have been deeply studied in the last few decades due to their attractive physical and chemical properties, finding a wide range of applications in several fields. Among them, well-defined nano-structures can combine the main advantages of heterogeneous and homogeneous catalysts. Especially, catalyzed multi-step processes for the production of added-value chemicals represent straightforward synthetic methodologies, including tandem and sequential reactions that avoid the purification of intermediate compounds. In particular, palladium- and copper-based nanocatalysts are often applied, becoming a current strategy in the sustainable synthesis of fine chemicals. The rational tailoring of nanosized materials involving both those immobilized on solid supports and liquid phases and their applications in organic synthesis are herein reviewed.

Abstract
4- Nitrophenol (4-NP) is a top rated hazardous environmental pollutant and secondary explosive chemicals. For the sake of ecology and environment safety, the catalytic reduction and detection of 4-NP is highly important. In this work, ɤ-Fe2O3-nitrogen doped rGO (ɤ-Fe2O3-N-rGO) nanohydrogel was synthesized by green hydrothermal method. The morphology and phase purity of prepared ɤ-Fe2O3-N-rGO nanohydrogel were confirmed by various analytical (SEM, TEM, XRD, and XPS) and electrochemical techniques. The morphological structure of ɤ-Fe2O3-N-rGO nanohydrogel confirmed that the nanocrystals are well covered over the 2D N-rGO layer. Further, ɤ-Fe2O3-N-rGO nanohydrogel was applied for the catalytic reduction and electrochemical detection of ecotoxic 4-NP. A low cost, ɤ-Fe2O3-N-rGO nanohydrogel displayed an excellent catalytic activity, high recyclability (>5 cycles) and high conversion efficiency of 4-NP to 4-Aminophenol (4-AP). In addition, ɤ-Fe2O3-N-rGO nanohydrogel modified GCE displayed a wide linear sensing range (0.1-1000 μM), and a low detection limit (LOD) of 0.1 μM with excellent sensitivity, high selectivity (<1.2%) and good stability (>4 weeks). The developed sensor electrode shows the low reduction potential of -0.3 V and -0.60 V for the determination of 4-NP. The proposed ɤ-Fe2O3-N-rGO nanohydrogel is promising catalyst for the detection and removal of toxic aromatic nitro compounds in real site applications.

Abstract
Triazoles occupy an important position in medicinal chemistry because of their various biological activities. The structural features of 1,2,3-triazoles enable them to act as a bioisostere of different functional groups such as amide, ester, carboxylic acid, and heterocycle, being capable of forming hydrogen bonds and π-π interactions or coordinate metal ions with biological targets. In this work, the synthesis of 1,2,3-triazole derivatives via copper(I)-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) is reported. Overexpression of 17β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 (17β-HSD1) is often found in breast cancer cells. Molecular similarity and docking analysis were used to evaluate the potential inhibitory activity of 1,2,3-triazoles synthesized over 17β-HSD1 for the treatment of mammary tumors. Our in silico analysis shows that compounds 4c, 4d, 4f, 4g, and 4j are good molecular scaffold candidates as 17β-HSD1 inhibitors.

Abstract
An adsorbent, which is easy to be separated and reused after adsorption, is very important for the removal of pollutants in aqueous solution. Hence, a novel nanofibrous sandwich structured adsorbent of silica nanofiber/magnetite nanoparticles/porous silica (SNF/MNP/PS) was designed and synthesized for the first time. The magnetite nanoparticles with diameter less than 10 nm were evenly distributed on the surface of silica nanofiber, which was subsequently fully covered by a layer of porous silica. The novel adsorbent was proved possessing good adsorption capacity for both methylene blue (MB) and Pb (II) ion (Pb2+), and the adsorption equilibrium could be well described by the Langmuir-isotherm model with the maximum adsorption capacity of 103.1 mg/g for MB and 243.9 mg/g for Pb2+ at 288 K. Moreover, in MB-Pb2+ mixed system the measured adsorption capacity reached 74.5 mg/g for MB and 202.4 mg/g for Pb2+, respectively. The saturated adsorbent could be readily magnetically separated from the solution and then efficiently regenerated by heterogeneous Fenton-like reaction (for MB) or acidic desorption process (for Pb2+), respectively. After 5 cycles of adsorption-regeneration, the adsorption capacity of the reused adsorbent still reached 81.0% (for MB) and 70.9% (for Pb2+) of the initial value. The SNF/MNP/PS behaves good adsorption properties for different types of pollutants, high magnetic recoverability and regeneration efficiency, which make it applicable to different contaminants removal.

Abstract
The explosively-growing applications of the Cu-catalyzed Huisgen 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction between organic azides and alkynes (CuAAC) have stimulated an impressive number of reports, in the last years, focusing on recoverable variants of the homogeneous or quasi-homogeneous catalysts. Recent advances in the field are reviewed, with particular emphasis on systems immobilized onto polymeric organic or inorganic supports.
