Abstract
Background: Accessible health information during pregnancy is important to positively affect maternal and fetal health. However, the quality and accuracy of health information can greatly vary across numerous sources. This narrative review is aimed at summarizing the literature on pregnant individuals' information sources and how these sources influence their habits toward GWG, PA, and nutrition. Such data will highlight preferences and needs, reveal challenges, and identify opportunities for improvement. Methods: We searched PubMed for studies published in the last decade. Out of 299 studies initially identified, 20 (16 quantitative and four qualitative) met the eligibility criteria (investigating information sources and their influence on health habits toward GWG, PA, nutrition, pregnant participants, adequate data reporting, and being available in full text). Results: Primary sources of health information varied. The Internet (26%-97%) and healthcare providers (HCPs) (14%-74%) predominated, followed by family/friends (12%71%), books/magazines (49%-65%), and guidelines/brochures (25%-53%). Despite the widespread use of the Internet, HCPs were considered the most reliable source. The use of the Internet to retrieve health information was reported to be 2-4 h a week, and < 50% discussed the online information with their HCP. The Internet was also used as a supplementary resource on topics raised by HCPs. Regarding the influence on health habits, the Internet, HCPs, media, and family positively influenced GWG and promoted adherence to recommended guidelines (OR = 0.55-15.5). Only one study showed a positive association between Internet use and PA level. The Internet, media, HCPs, and information brochures were associated with better adherence to nutritional recommendations. Conclusions: Pregnant individuals relied on the Internet and HCP, with a preference for the Internet despite trust in midwives. Several sources of health information were positively associated with adherence to GWG and nutrition recommendations. Improving the quality of online information should be a priority for policymakers and health authorities.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Women with gestational weight gain (GWG) that is below or above recommendations are at risk of adverse perinatal outcomes. Motivational interviewing and/or cognitive behaviour therapy have demonstrated efficacy in initiating and sustaining behaviour change, including weight control. The objective of this review was to investigate the effect of antenatal interventions that include components of motivational interviewing and/or cognitive behaviour therapy on gestational weight gain. METHODS This review was designed and reported in accordance with guidelines outlined in the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) statement. Five electronic databases were systematically searched to March 2022. Randomised controlled trials evaluating interventions with identified components of motivational interviewing and/or cognitive behaviour therapies were included. Pooled proportions of appropriate GWG and GWG above or below guidelines, and standardised mean difference for total gestational weight gain, were calculated. Risk of bias in included studies was evaluated using the Risk of Bias 2 tool, and the Grades of Recommendation, Assessment, Development and Evaluation (GRADE) approach was used to evaluate the quality of evidence. RESULTS Twenty-one studies (8030 participants) were included. Overall, MI and/or CBT interventions had a small effect on the total gestational weight gain (SMD: -0.18, 95% confidence interval: -0.27 to -0.09, p < 0.001) and improved the proportion of women achieving recommended gestational weight gain (29% versus 23% in the comparison, p < 0.001). The GRADE assessment indicated that overall quality of evidence is very uncertain, however sensitivity analyses to account for high risk of bias produced similar results to original meta-analyses. The magnitude of effect was greater in women with overweight or obesity when compared to women with BMI < 25 kg/m2. CONCLUSION Motivational interviewing and/or cognitive behaviour therapy techniques may be effective for promoting healthy gestational weight gain. Nevertheless, a high proportion of women do not achieve recommended gestational weight gain. Future interventions should consider factors, including clinician and consumer perspectives, in the design and delivery of psychosocial interventions that aim to support healthy gestational weight gain. TRIAL REGISTRATION The protocol for this review was registered with the PROSPERO International register of systematic reviews (registration number CRD42020156401).

Abstract
BACKGROUND Experiencing weight stigma during pregnancy is detrimental to psychosocial health outcomes, including increasing maternal stress and undermining engagement in health behaviors. Guided by a recent socioecological framework, close interpersonal relationships are integral in pregnancy to facilitate healthy behaviors and protect maternal mental health, but they may also be sources that project weight stigma. The purpose of this study was to characterize weight stigma experienced during pregnancy and postpartum from close relationships including partners, immediate family, extended family, and friends. METHOD Women who were pregnant or up to 1 year postpartum completed a survey that assessed sources of weight stigma since becoming pregnant. A thematic analysis was performed to code open-ended responses to understand the lived experiences of pregnancy-related weight stigma experienced from close relations. RESULTS Of the 501 women who completed the online survey, 157 indicated experiencing weight stigma from close relations. Average frequency of weight stigma from close relations was 1.83 ("less than once a month" to "a few times a month"). Weight-stigmatizing examples from close relations during pregnancy included negative assumptions about maternal or fetal health and maternal lifestyle behaviors based on weight gain; comparing women to pregnant body ideals; and making comments that resulted in women judging themselves poorly as a pregnant individual or mother. CONCLUSIONS Close relationships can be sources of pregnancy-related weight stigma. This may not only increase risk for adverse stigma-related consequences, but also could cut off the important benefits of maternal social support resulting in poor mental health outcomes and health behaviors.

Abstract
Research shows the shaping of food choices often occurs at home, with the family widely recognised as significant in food decisions. However, in this digital age, our eating habits and decision-making processes are also determined by smartphone apps, celebrity chefs, and social media. The ‘COVID Kai Survey’ online questionnaire assessed cooking and shopping behaviours among New Zealanders during the 2020 COVID-19 ‘lockdown’ using a cross-sectional study design. This paper examines how sources of food choice inspirations (cooking-related advice and the reasons for recipe selection) are related to dietary patterns before and during the lockdown. Of the 2977 participants, those influenced by nutrition and health experts (50.9% before; 53.9% during the lockdown) scored higher for the healthy dietary pattern. Participants influenced by family and friends (35% before; 29% during the lockdown) had significantly higher scores for the healthy and the meat dietary patterns, whereas participants influenced by celebrity cooks (3.8% before; 5.2% during the lockdown) had significantly higher scores in the meat dietary pattern. There was no evidence that associations differed before and during the lockdown. The lockdown was related to modified food choice inspiration sources, notably an increase in ‘comforting’ recipes as a reason for recipe selection (75.8%), associated with higher scoring in the unhealthy dietary pattern during the lockdown. The lockdown in New Zealand saw an average decrease in nutritional quality of diets in the ‘COVID Kai Survey’, which could be partly explained by changes in food choice inspiration sources.

Abstract
PURPOSE OF REVIEW The aim of this review was to summarise recent evaluations of healthcare professional training regarding gestational weight gain and provide recommendations for future training. RECENT FINDINGS A number of evaluated healthcare professional training sessions regarding gestational weight gain show promising results in terms of increased participant confidence and knowledge and impact on women's outcomes. It is clear that the interventions which have also implemented resources in the practice environment to support training are the ones most likely to influence gestational weight gain. Support from healthcare professionals are key to influence pregnant women's weight gain and should be offered within the standard curriculum and through mandatory training. Factors influencing this support include women's and healthcare professional characteristics, interpersonal and healthcare system and policy factors. All of these need to be considered when developing healthcare professional training to support women with their gestational weight gain.

Sources of information about gestational weight gain, diet and exercise among Brazilian immigrant women living in the USA: a cross-sectional study. Public Health Nutr 2021; 24:5720-5729. Abstract
OBJECTIVE The objective of this study was to assess sources of information about gestational weight gain (GWG), diet and exercise among first-time pregnant Brazilian women in the USA. DESIGN Cross-sectional survey. SETTING Massachusetts, USA. PARTICIPANTS First-time pregnant Brazilian women. RESULTS Eighty-six women, the majority of whom were immigrants (96·5 %) classified as having low acculturation levels (68 %), participated in the study. Approximately two-thirds of respondents had sought information about GWG (72·1 %), diet (79·1 %) and exercise (74·4 %) via the internet. Women classified as having low acculturation levels were more likely to seek information about GWG via the internet (OR = 7·55; 95 % CI 1·41, 40·26) than those with high acculturation levels after adjusting for age and receiving information about GWG from healthcare provider (doctor or midwife). Moreover, many respondents reported seeking information about GWG (67 %), diet (71 %) and exercise (52 %) from family and friends. Women who self-identified as being overweight pre-pregnancy were less likely to seek information about diet (OR = 0·32; 95 % CI 0·11, 0·93) and exercise (OR = 0·33; 95 % CI 0·11, 0·96) from family and friends than those who self-identified being normal-weight pre-pregnancy. CONCLUSIONS This is the first study to assess sources of information about GWG, diet and exercise among pregnant Brazilian immigrants in the USA. Findings have implications for the design of interventions and suggest the potential of mHealth intervention as low-cost, easy access option for delivering culturally and linguistically tailored evidence-based information about GWG incorporating behavioural change practices to this growing immigrant group.
