Abstract
Celiac disease is attributable to a combination of genetic predisposition and exposure to dietary gluten, with immune system involvement. The incidence is increasing globally, and the societal economic burden of celiac disease stretches beyond the cost of gluten-free food. This enteropathy that affects the small intestine has been related to different disorders and comorbidities. Thus, the implications of suffering from this disease are multidimensional and need further consideration. Celiac disease is a serious condition that remains under-recognized, resulting in an increased need for programs for better management. This review aims to summarize the current evidence regarding celiac diseases, with special emphasis on clinical implications, diagnosis, dietary management, socioeconomical aspects, and future perspectives.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES This article aims to analyze the scientific literature on hearing loss (HL) in the field of Otorhinolaryngology published from the past to the present. METHODS A comprehensive dataset comprising 8013 articles on HL, spanning from 1980 to 2023, was retrieved from the Web of Science database and analyzed using various statistical and bibliometric methods. RESULTS The leading countries in productivity were the United States, Japan, and Germany. The top productive journals included the International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology (n = 652), Otology & Neurotology (579), and Acta Oto-Laryngologica (512). The journals with the highest h-index on hearing loss were Hearing Research (h = 65), Ear and Hearing (60), and Laryngoscope (55). Factor analysis revealed that the HL literature consisted of four constructs: main topics, speech/sound, genetics, and pharmaceutical therapies. Sudden sensorineural HL, sensorineural HL, cochlear implant, unilateral, noise-induced and conductive HL, pediatric and age-related HL, tinnitus, auditory brainstem response, audiometry, and prognoses for hearing health were the most researched topics from past to present. In recent years, the trending topics are genomic analysis, gene mutations, whole-exome sequencing, genetic sequencing technique, the use of machine learning in HL, and the effect of COVID-19 on hearing health. CONCLUSION The bibliometric analysis results clearly indicate significant progress in the field of hearing loss over the past 40 years. The 8013 articles published between 1980 and 2023 encompass a wide range of research in this area. These analyses can assist in identifying priority areas and focal points for future research. Abstract
PURPOSE Examination of the scientific literature on cholesteatoma from past to present using bibliometric methods. METHODS A total of 2353 articles on cholesteatoma between 1980 and 2023 were obtained from the Web of Science database and statistically analysed using bibliometric techniques. RESULTS The journals with the highest number of contributions to the literature were Otology & Neurotology (n = 192), Acta Oto-Laryngologica (156) and Laryngoscope (149). The most impactful journals based on h-index and total citation (TC) counts were Laryngoscope (h:36, TC: 4241), Otology & Neurotology (29, 3141), and American Journal of Otology (26, 2071) respectively. The most prolific author was Kojima H. (n = 49). According to the findings of the Reference Publication Year Spectroscopy (RPYS) analysis, there has been a significant increase in academic interest in Cholesteatoma since its first description in 1959, particularly following the expansion of its definition in 1977. Subsequently, the trend of increased interest has risen rapidly in later years, with notable peaks in research intensity observed in 1989, 2006, and 2011. The highest academic trend occurred in 2006. In recent years, trending topics have included innovative approaches such as diagnostic and imaging methods particularly alongside technological developments, endoscopic surgery, recurrence and complications, prognosis and quality of life, artificial intelligence, and obliteration. CONCLUSION In conclusion, the evolution of cholesteatoma and its research priorities reveal temporal shifts and emerging areas of interest over time. Primarily, diagnosis, treatment, and surgical approaches remain central. Additionally, research has expanded to encompass developments in surgical techniques, imaging modalities, cellular biology, pathology, and molecular mechanisms.

Abstract
Objective Pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) was a complex disease that had attracted increasing attention. However, there had been no bibliometric analysis of this disease so far. This study aimed to explore the current situation and frontier trend of PMP through bibliometric and visualization analysis, and to indicate new directions for future research. Methods The original research articles and reviews related to the PMP research were downloaded from Web of Science Core Collection on September 11, 2023. CiteSpace (6.2.R4) and VOSviewer(1.6.18) were used to perform bibliometric analysis of the publications, and establish the knowledge map. The data collected was analyzed using the Online Analysis Platform of Bibliometric to evaluate the cooperation of countries in this field. Results We identified 1449 original articles and reviews on PMP published between 1998 and 2023. The number of publications on PMP increased continuously. The United States, the United Kingdom and China were the top contributors. The most productive organization was the MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Sugarbaker, Paul H. was the most prolific author and the most cited. Keyword analysis showed that "Pseudomyxoma peritonei", "cancer", "cytoreductive surgery", and "hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy" were the most common keywords. The earliest and latest used keywords were "mucinous tumors" and "impact", respectively. "classification", "cytoreductive surgery", "appendiceal" were the top 3 strongest citation bursts. The reference "Carr NJ, 2016, AM J SURG PATHOL" had the highest co-citations. Conclusion This bibliometric analysis showed an increasing trend in literature related to PMP. The research trends and hotspots identified in this study could guide the future research directions in this field, in order to promote the development of PMP.

Abstract
Introduction Loco-regional anesthesia role is increasingly important in surgery, especially in postoperative pain control. Using ultrasound-guided techniques has made the loco-regional approach increasingly safe and manageable, guaranteeing excellent analgesic results and patient compliance. This bibliometric research aimed to identify the most influential papers on the adductor canal blocks and outline their characteristics. Methods All articles published from 1980 to 2022 were included in the Web of Science, PubMed, and Scopus databases and found using the keywords "Adductor canal block" or "Saphenous nerve block" or "Peripheral nerve block" or "Hunter canal block" or "Subsartorial canal block" or "ACB" or "Knee" or "TKR" or "TKA" or "Analgesia" or "Arthroplasty" or "Replacement" in the title section had bibliometric analysis performed. The first 25 papers were selected and analyzed by the number of citations. The correlation between numerical variables was evaluated using the Pearson Correlation coefficient. Results Literature screening found 252 publications. One hundred ten were only about the adductor canal block. Of these, 25 articles were selected for our bibliometric study, published in 8 different journals and with a total number of citations equal to 1.457. "Regional Anesthesia and pain medicine" journal - with 9 articles - was the one that produced the most. There was a significant strong correlation between the n. of citations and the citation rate (R = 0.84, p < 0.001). Conclusion The purpose of this study is to be a guide on regional anesthesia and, particularly, on adductor canal block, making the most effective as well as the most cited articles available to anesthesiologists or other researchers interested in this topic.

Abstract
Abstract
Background
A gluten-free diet (GFD) has become one of the most popular eating plans and is essential for managing gluten-related medical conditions, signs, and symptoms. Therefore, we performed a bibliometric analysis of the scientific literature on the GFD to describe the research landscape.
Methods
The Scopus database was searched for publications on the GFD from 1952 to 2021. A bibliometric analysis of the data was performed. VOSviewer software was used to perform visualization analysis, co-occurrence analysis, and publication trends in GFD.
Results
A total of 3,258 publications were retrieved. In terms of publications, Italy (n = 468, 14.36%) led in the number of publications, followed by the USA (n = 398, 12.22%) and Spain (n = 274, 8.41%). The retrieved documents earned an average of 22.89 citations per document, for a total of 74,560 citations. Since 2001, there has been a gradual growth in the number of articles published, going from 23 to more than 370 in 2021. Using the mapping terms in the title/abstract a minimum of 50 times, 291 terms were divided into two main clusters: ‘adherence to a gluten-free diet in celiac disease’ and ‘improvement of the nutritional and sensory quality of gluten-free products.’
Conclusions
Over the past six decades, there has been a growing need for gluten-free bakery products and a noticeable increase in related publications. This study indicates that the “improvement of the nutritional and sensory quality of gluten-free products” will remain a hotspot in this research field for upcoming years.

Abstract
AIM Pathologies associated with gluten intake are increasingly prevalent. Diagnosis of celiac disease (CD) or non-celiac gluten sensitivity (NCGS) is based on compatible clinical alterations and in case of CD on compatible serology or intestinal biopsy. The aim was to determine the values of iron, vitamins and minerals prior to diagnosis and to verify whether a gluten-free diet treatment can cause the normalization of these parameters both in patients diagnosed with celiac disease and gluten sensitivity. METHODS: Retrospective observational study from November 2016 to November 2021. 101 celiac patients and 26 with NCGS were included, all under 18 years of age. Levels of Fe, Na+ , K+ , Cl-, Ferritin, Ca2 + , P, Vitamin B12, Vitamin D and Transferrin were determined, following the quality standards of the Hospital Clínico San Carlos laboratory. Statistical software IBM SPSS Statistics v.26 was used. RESULTS Calcium levels in celiac patients follow a positive trend after 3 months of gluten-free diet. Ferritin levels in patients with NCGS increased in a statistically significant way (p < 0.017). CONCLUSION Calcium in the CD group increases its values after the establishment of a gluten-free diet as treatment, as well as ferritin in patients with NCGS. No significant changes were found in the rest of the analyzed parameters. This could be due to the precocity of the diagnosis thanks to a rapid clinical suspicion that determines few analytical alterations.

Abstract
ObjectivesThis study aims to perform a bibliometric analysis of functional dyspepsia (FD), which includes visualizing bibliographic information, in order to identify prevailing study themes, topics of interest, contributing journals, countries, institutions, and authors as well as co-citation patterns.MethodsThe Web of Science™ Core Collection Database was used to retrieve all peer-reviewed scientific publications related to FD research. The validated search terms were entered into the “title” and “author keywords” fields, and the results were sorted by publication year from 2006 to 2022. There were no restrictions on language. On 12 February 2023, a manual export of the complete metadata for each original publication and review article was performed. CiteSpace was used to reveal co-authorship, publication, and co-citation patterns to find prominent authors, organizations, countries, and journals in FD research as well as to identify author keywords with strong citation bursts, which could indicate an emerging research area. VOSviewer was used to build the co-occurrence indicator (co-word) to identify the main author keywords on which previous studies focused and to induce clustered scientific landscape for two consecutive periods to identify intriguing areas for future research.ResultsA search of the database retrieved 2,957 documents. There was a wave-like pattern in the number of publications until 2017, after which there was a spike in publication volume. The USA, China, and Japan provided the majority of contributions. In terms of institution, Mayo Clin, Univ Newcastle, and Katholieke Univ Leuven were found to be the prolific institutions. Additionally, the results indicate that eastern Asian researchers contributed significantly to the global knowledge of literature that led other countries; however, Canada, the USA, Australia, England, and Germany were found to have the highest degree of betweenness centrality. Nicholas J. Talley, Jan Tack, Gerald Holtmann, Michael Camilleri, Ken Haruma, and Paul Moayyedi occupied the top positions based on productivity and centrality indicators. Six thematic clusters emerged (Helicobacter pylori infection; pathophysiological mechanisms of FD; extraintestinal co-morbidities and overlap syndromes associated with FD; herbal medicine in FD; diabetic gastroparesis; and dietary factors in FD). “Acupuncture,” “duodenal eosinophilia,” “gut microbiota,” and others were among the author keywords with rising prevalence.ConclusionIn FD research, eastern Asian countries have established themselves as major contributors with the highest publishing productivity; however, research has primarily been driven by North America, Europe, and Australia, where cooperation is generally more active and highly influential scientific results are produced. Our analysis suggests that increased investments, training of human resources, improved infrastructures, and expanded collaborations are essential to improving the quality of FD research in Asia. The emerging author keyword analysis suggests that eosinophil-mast cell axis, gut microbiota, mental disorders, and acupuncture are the key areas that attract researchers’ attention as future research boulevards. There is a highly skewed distribution of research output across Asia, with most focus on complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) coming from Chinese, Japanese, and South Korean centers. However, CAM remains an underexplored area of research in the context of FD, and it deserves greater research efforts in order to obtain quality scientific evidence. Furthermore, we propose that the research framework of CAM should not be limited to dysmotility; rather, it could be interpreted within a more holistic context that includes the brain-gut-microbiota axis, as well as novel concepts such as duodenitis, increased mucosal permeability, and infiltration and activation of eosinophils and mast cells, among others. Overall, we provided bibliometrics-based overviews of relevant literature to researchers from different backgrounds and healthcare professionals to provide an in-depth overview of major trends in FD research.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Mitochondria are remarkably dynamic organelles encapsulated by bilayer membranes. The dynamic properties of mitochondria are critical for energy production. AIMS The aim of our study is to investigate the global status and trends of mitochondrial dynamics research and predict popular topics and directions in the field. METHODS Publications related to the studies of mitochondrial dynamics from 2002 to 2021 were retrieved from Web of Science database. A total of 4,576 publications were included. Bibliometric analysis was conducted by visualization of similarities viewer and GraphPadPrism 5 software. RESULTS There is an increasing trend of mitochondrial dynamics research during the last 20 years. The cumulative number of publications about mitochondrial dynamics research followed the logistic growth model [Formula: see text]. The USA made the highest contributions to the global research. The journal Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA)-Molecular Cell Research had the largest publication numbers. Case Western Reserve University is the most contributive institution. The main research orientation and funding agency were cell biology and HHS. All keywords related studies could be divided into three clusters: "Related disease research", "Mechanism research" and "Cell metabolism research". CONCLUSIONS Attention should be drawn to the latest popular research and more efforts will be put into mechanistic research, which may inspire new clinical treatments for the associated diseases.

Abstract
This study analyzed the research hotspots and frontiers of exercise rehabilitation among cancer patients via CiteSpace. Relevant literature published in the core collection of the Web of Science (WoS) database from January 1, 2000, to February 6, 2022, was searched. Further, we used CiteSpace5.8R1 to generate a network map and identified top authors, institutions, countries, keywords, and research trends. A total of 2706 related literature were retrieved. The most prolific writer was found to be Kathryn H Schmitz (21 articles). The University of Toronto (64 articles) was found to be the leading institution, with the United States being the leading country. Further, “rehabilitation,” “exercise,” “quality of life,” “cancer,” and “physical activity” were the top 5 keywords based on frequency; next, “disability,” “survival,” “fatigue,” “cancer,” and “rehabilitation” were the top 5 keywords based on centrality. The keyword “fatigue” was ranked at the top of the most cited list. Finally, “rehabilitation medicine,” “activities of daily living,” “lung neoplasm,” “implementation,” “hospice,” “exercise oncology,” “mental health,” “telemedicine,” and “multidisciplinary” are potential topics for future research. Our results show that the research hotspots have changed from “quality of life,” “survival,” “rehabilitation,” “exercise,” “cancer,” “physical therapy,” “fatigue,” and “breast cancer” to “exercise oncology,” “COVID-19,” “rehabilitation medicine,” “inpatient rehabilitation,” “implementation,” “telemedicine,” “lung neoplasm,” “telehealth,” “multidisciplinary,” “psycho-oncology,” “hospice,” “adapted physical activity,” “cancer-related symptom,” “cognitive function,” and “behavior maintenance.” Future research should explore the recommended dosage and intensity of exercise in cancer patients. Further, following promotion of the concept of multidisciplinary cooperation and the rapid development of Internet medical care, a large amount of patient data has been accumulated; thus, how to effectively use this data to generate results of high clinical value is a question for future researchers.

Abstract
The trend of the number of publications on a research field is often used to quantify research interest and effort, but this measure is biased by general publication record inflation. This study introduces a novel metric as an unbiased and quantitative tool for trend analysis and bibliometrics. The metric was used to reanalyze reported publication trends and perform in-depth trend analyses on patent groups and a broad range of field in the life-sciences. The analyses confirmed that inflation bias frequently results in the incorrect identification of field-specific increased growth. It was shown that the metric enables a more detailed, quantitative and robust trend analysis of peer reviewed publications and patents. Some examples of the metric’s uses are quantifying inflation-corrected growth in research regarding microplastics (51% ± 10%) between 2012 and 2018 and detecting inflation-corrected growth increase for transcriptomics and metabolomics compared to genomics and proteomics (Tukey post hoc p<0.0001). The developed trend-analysis tool removes inflation bias from bibliometric trend analyses. The metric improves evidence-driven decision-making regarding research effort investment and funding allocation.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Tularemia disease attracts attention as an important contagious zoonosis that has increased its impact in recent years. The aim of the study is to analyze the publications on tularemia between 1980 and 2020. METHODS We performed literature retrieval in the Web of Science (WoS) on 22 September 2021. Search terms were "Francisella tularensis" and "Tularemia" in the article title for the period between January 1980 and December 2020. We determined the number of articles, keywords, countries, authors, and institutions for each publication. We visualized the data with the VOS viewer tool. RESULTS After all inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied finally, 1688 articles were analyzed. The number of articles has increased in recent years. The three most productive countries in tularemia were the USA (777 articles 46.03%), Sweden (113 articles 6.69%), and Turkey (95 articles, 5.63%). Most of the articles were from the journal of Infection and Immunity (II), Plos one, Journal of Clinical Microbiology (JCM), Emerging Infectious Diseases (EID), and Vaccine. Sjostedt A. and Umea University-Sweden were the most influential author and institution. CONCLUSIONS Productivity trend has been shown to increase in tularemia. High-income countries had a great influence on the literature in the field. Publications from the USA were in a high percentage among all articles. Related work may lead to the future direction of this dossier in the next years.

Abstract
Although cerebral palsy (CP), which affects the quality of life of many children and their families, is the most common cause of motor dysfunction in children, no comprehensive bibliometric study has holistically evaluated the publications on CP. This study aimed to analyze the scientific outputs published on CP in pediatrics research between 1980 and 2019 using bibliometric and statistical methods, and reveal new study trends in this field. The literature search was performed in the Web of Science database using the keyword cerebral palsy in the title section of the articles published only in the pediatrics research field. Four-thousand seventy-five publications were obtained in the field of pediatrics research on CP, 3027 of which were articles. We shared abstract information of 3027 articles published between 1980 and 2019 with this comprehensive bibliometric study, which will be a useful guide for physicians and scientists on the global outcomes of CP, and we discussed new trends in this topic. We think that comprehensive bibliometric analyzes on subjects that we frequently encounter in clinics and which are widely researched will contribute to the field.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES The number of original scientific researches on intracranial aneurysms has risen over the last 30 years. Despite the rise in the number of articles, there is no up-to-date exhaustive bibliometric research in the literature. This study aimed to contribute to the literature via a bibliometric analysis of the original scientific researches on intracranial aneurysms published over the last 30 years. METHODS The literature review was done using the Web of Science. All articles and its citations containing aneurysm keywords were analyzed in the "title" section of articles published in the research areas: Neurosciences Neurology during 1980-2019. Correlation analyses between the number of articles produced by the countries and their economic and development indicators of gross domestic product, and Human Development Index were analyzed using the Spearman correlation coefficient. Linear regression analysis was utilized to estimate the number of articles to be published in the future. RESULTS There were a total of 21,673 publications on intracranial aneurysms. Of these publications, 13,371 (61.7%) were articles. The three countries that produced the most articles were the USA (4098), Japan (2668), and China (937). A statistically significant correlation was found between the development indicators of world countries and publication productivity (p<0.001). The three journals that produced the most publications were Neurosurgery, Journal of Neurosurgery, and American Journal of Neuroradiology. The most cited article was published in Journal of Neurosurgery. CONCLUSION This bibliometric study provides a collection of data that will help design future research on intracranial aneurysms more efficiently and make innovations at greater speed.

Abstract
Rehabilitation programs have an important place in the treatment of ankylosing spondylitis (AS), but there is no comprehensive bibliometric research that assesses publications on AS rehabilitation in a holistic way. The aim of this study was to investigate the quantity and quality of articles related to AS rehabilitation and to reveal the features of global productivity in this topic. This bibliometric study was conducted utilizing the Web of Science (WoS) database with the keywords 'ankylosing spondylitis rehabilitation', 'ankylosing spondylitis exercise', 'ankylosing spondylitis physical therapy' and 'ankylosing spondylitis physiotherapy'. The number of articles, citations, and main active countries were determined and trend analyses were performed. A total of 792 articles were reviewed. The articles originated from 51 different countries, 22 of which met the main active country criteria. A significant increase trend was detected in the number of articles between 2000 and 2019 (p < 0.001). The five most productive countries were Germany (n = 111; 14.02%), Turkey (n = 98; 12.37%), the United States (n = 71; 8.96%), the United Kingdom (n = 53; 6.69%) and the Netherlands (n = 53; 6.69%). The highest values in number of articles per million population were calculated in Norway, the Netherlands and Austria, respectively. In the analysis according to GDP, Norway, the Netherlands and Turkey were ranked as the first three. The top three countries for the average citation count were France, Netherlands and Germany. This bibliometric study can be considered as an assessment and summary of worldwide scientific production on AS rehabilitation. The data demonstrate an increasing trend in research productivity since 2000. European countries were seen to be at the forefront both quantitatively and qualitatively in this area.

Abstract
BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVE Childhood epilepsy is one of the disease groups with the highest disease burden in society. This study aimed to guide researchers for new studies by determining the most compelling studies and current issues through a bibliometric analysis of scientific outputs about childhood epilepsy between 1980 and 2018. METHODS The literature review was conducted using the Web of Science (WoS) database. Epilepsy and status epilepticus were used as search keywords in WoS, and the search was performed only in the title section of the publications. Only publications in the research field of pediatrics were included in the study and were analyzed bibliometrically. Linear regression analysis was used to estimate the number of publications in the coming years. RESULTS It was seen that the number of articles on pediatric epilepsy has been increasing with a linear trend. A total of 3424 publications were found. Of these publications, 2197 (64.2%) articles were analyzed bibliometrically. The top two most productive countries were the USA(654) and Italy (199). The first two most active institutions were The Hospital for Sick Children (40, 1.8%) and Tel Aviv University (38, 1.7%). The top three journals that published the most were Journal of Child Neurology (422, 19.2%), Pediatric Neurology (335, 15.2%), and Developmental Medicine and Child Neurology (201, 9.1%). CONCLUSION In this bibliometric study on childhood epilepsies, a data summary of 2197 articles published between 1980 and 2018 is presented. We hope that this article will be a useful literature review and guide researchers working on pediatric epilepsy.

Abstract
Background This study used bibliometric analysis of articles published about the topic of regional anesthesia from 1980-2019 with the aim of determining which countries, organizations, and authors were effective, engaged in international cooperation, and had the most cited articles and journals. Methods All articles published from 1980-2019 included in the Web of Science database and found using the keywords regional anesthesia/anaesthesia, spinal anesthesia/anaesthesia, epidural anesthesia/anaesthesia, neuraxial anesthesia/anaesthesia, combined spinal-epidural, and peripheral nerve block in the title section had bibliometric analysis performed. Correlations between the number of publications from a country with gross domestic product (GDP), gross domestic product (at purchasing power parity) per capita (GDP PPP), and human development index (HDI) values were investigated with the Spearman correlation coefficient. The number of articles that will be published in the future was estimated with linear regression analysis. Results Literature screening found 11,156 publications. Of these publications, 6,452 were articles. The top 4 countries producing articles were United States of America (n = 1,583), Germany (585), United Kingdom (510), and Turkey (386). There was a significant positive correlation found between the GDP, GDP PPP, and HDI markers for global countries with publication productivity (r = 0.644, P < 0.001; r = 0.623, P < 0.001, r = 0.542, P < 0.001). The most productive organizations were Harvard University and the University of Toronto. Conclusions This comprehensive study presenting a holistic summary and evaluation of 6,452 articles about this topic may direct anesthesiologists, doctors, academics, and students interested in this topic.

Abstract
Introduction Although there have been important developments in microsurgery in recent years, there is no current and comprehensive bibliometric study in the literature. In this study, we aimed to present a summary of the articles published on microsurgery between 1980 and 2019 with bibliometric analysis. Methods Articles published on microsurgery between 1980 and 2019 were withdrawn from the Web of Science database and analyzed by bibliometric methods. Citation analysis was performed to identify effective journals and articles. Keyword cluster and trends analyses were performed for a detailed analysis of the researched topics. Relationships between the article numbers of the countries and gross domestic product (GDP) and human development index (HDI) values were investigated using Spearman’s correlation coefficient. A linear regression analysis was used to estimate the number of articles to be published in the future. Results A total of 3,537 publications related to microsurgery were found. Bibliometric analyses were performed in 2,063 articles (58.3%) of these publications. The most active countries in publishing were the United States (504), Germany (286), and Italy (154), respectively. A statistically significant correlation was found between the article numbers and the GDP and HDI sizes of the countries (r = 0.758, p <0.001, r = 0.659, p <0.001). Conclusion The economic size and development levels of the countries were an important factor in academic productivity in microsurgery. Undeveloped countries should be encouraged by performing multidisciplinary studies in this regard.

Abstract
BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVE Although the increasing prevalence of hypospadias has been reported in many countries, there is a lack of bibliometric studies that make a holistic assessment of the publications about this issue. This study aims to make a holistic evaluation, latest developments, and trend topics about hypospadias publications between 1980 and 2018 through bibliometric analysis. METHODS All the publications about hypospadias published in the Web of Science index between 1980 and 2018 were downloaded and analyzed using bibliometric methods. The Spearman's correlation coefficient was utilized to analyze the correlations between economic productivity and performance of the countries on hypospadias. Linear regression analysis was performed to estimate the number of publications for the following years. RESULTS Bibliometric analyses were performed with 1940 articles. With 527 (27.2%) publications, the USA was the country that made the most contribution to the literature. The top active 3 journals were the Journal of Urology, Journal of Pediatric Urology, and Urology. A high correlation was detected between hypospadias publication productivity and GDP (r=0.791, p<0.001). The regression analysis results showed that the expected number of articles to be produced was 95 (75-116) for 2019 and 106 (47-164) for 2024. CONCLUSIONS This study provides a holistic evaluation of the articles about hypospadias, which is an anomaly that should be repaired and treated with surgery due to its potential problems for the children at kindergarten and school age. Increasing the collaboration between especially developing countries and research in different countries with samples from different communities through multidisciplinary studies are recommended.

Abstract
Circumcision is one of the most common surgical operations in newborns, babies, and children due to cultural, religious, and medical reasons. Religious beliefs are known to have an important role in circumcision. Although bibliometric analyses have been performed about several topics with a lot of publications in literature, no studies in the literature were found to focus on male circumcision. This study aims to make a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of circumcision and investigate the relationship between publication productivity and religious beliefs of the countries. Web of Science was utilized to obtain the documents needed for bibliometric analyses. "Circumcision" keyword was used for search. The search included studies published between 1980 and 2018. The literature review indicated that there were 3694 publications about circumcision published between 1980 and 2018. Of these publications, 1770 (47.9%) were articles. This study provided a bibliometric summary of 1770 articles. The top five active countries about circumcision were the USA, England, South Africa, Turkey, and Kenya. The present study found that the religious beliefs of a country were directly related to publication productivity about circumcision. The top-cited study was the article entitled "Male circumcision for HIV prevention in young men in Kisumu, Kenya: a randomized controlled trial" written by Bailey et al. and published in the journal of Lancet. The keyword analysis results showed that HIV was the top keyword used in all articles about circumcision. This study is believed to help researchers interested in circumcision topic to access a summary of the literature, see contemporary and more important topics, and discover new ideas about the issue.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Spinal cord injury (SCI) could cause motor, sensory loss, severe functional insufficiency, and social problems. This study aims to provide a holistic summary of the global scientific outputs about SCI through bibliometric analyses and reveal the trend topics. METHODS All publications about SCI published between 1980 and 2018 in Web of Science (WoS) index were downloaded (Access date: 01.09.2019) and analyzed using bibliometric methods. In the Title search section in WoS, the documents with the words "spinal cord injury" were identified. Correlation analysis between SCI publication productivity and economic development indicators of the world countries were analyzed using the Spearman correlation coefficient. RESULTS There were 20,322 publications, 13,662 of which were articles. The top 3 productive countries were the USA, China, and Canada. British Columbia (403; 2.9%), Toronto (401; 2.9%), and Miami (387; 2.8%) were the prominent cities. The top productive journals were Spinal Cord (1,399; 10.24%), Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (835; 6.11%), and Journal of Neurotrauma (631; 4.61%). A statistically significant, high-level correlation was found between the number of publications about SCI and the countries' gross domestic product and gross domestic product per capita (r = 0.711, P < 0.001; r = 0.699, P < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS This study provides a systematic analysis of SCI and could be a beneficial guide for clinicians and scientists.
