Abstract
Electromagnetic wave absorption materials (EWAMs) have become an effective means to address electromagnetic (EM) radiation and enhance stealth technology, among which aerogels are valued for their lightweight nature and excellent designability. This study utilized environmentally friendly preparation and in-situ reduction techniques to fabricate bacterial cellulose (BC) / reduced graphene oxide (RGO) aerogels, achieving tailored EM wave loss capabilities by controlling the reduction time of ascorbic acid. Benefitting from the effects of freeze-casting, BC winding, hydrogen bond, and RGO layers coupling, the aerogel maintains their original structure after reduction and exhibits satisfactory EM wave absorption. The minimum reflection loss (RLmin) is -38.52 dB, with an effective absorption bandwidth (EAB) of 6.68 GHz and a maximum radar cross section (RCS) reduction of 44.69 dBsm. Additionally, the aerogel's lightweight (a low density of 9.03 mg/cm3) and outstanding thermal insulation properties enable it to adapt to complex conditions. Thus, the study provides a novel approach for the construction of industrialized and sustainable RGO-based EWAMs.

Abstract
Carbon aerogel has gained intense attention as one of the most promising microwave absorption materials. It can overcome severe electromagnetic pollution, thanks to its 3D macroscopic structure and superb conductive loss capacity. However, there is still a big challenge to endow multifunctionality to carbon aerogel while maintaining its good electromagnetic wave absorption (EWA) so as to adapt wide practical application. Herein, a novel carbon-based aerogel consisting of Cu and TiO2 nanoparticles dispersed on carbon nanofiber framework was derived from carbonized bacterial cellulose (CBC) decorated with its mother bacteria via freeze-drying, in situ growth and carbonization strategies. The synthesized carbon-based CBC/Cu/TiO2 aerogel achieved an excellent EWA performance with a broad effective absorption bandwidth (EAB) of 8.32 GHz. It is attributed to the synergistic loss mechanism from multiple scattering, conductive network loss, interfacial polarization loss and dipolar polarization relaxation. Meanwhile, the obtained aerogel also shows an excellent thermal insulation with a 3-mm-thick sample generating a temperature gradient of over 42 °C at 85 °C and a maximum radar cross-section (RCS) reduction of 23.88 dB m2 owing to the cellular structure and synergistic effects of multi-components. Therefore, this study proposes a feasible design approach for creating lightweight, effective, and multifunctional CBC-based EWA materials, which offer a new platform to develop ultrabroad electromagnetic wave absorber under the guidance of RCS simulation.

Abstract
Electromagnetic (EM) wave pollution and thermal damage pose serious hazards to delicate instruments. Functional aerogels offer a promising solution by mitigating EM interference and isolating heat. However, most of these materials struggle to balance thermal protection with microwave absorption (MA) efficiency due to a previously unidentified conflict between the optimizing strategies of the two properties. Herein, this study reports a solution involving the design of a carbon-based aerogel called functional carbon spring (FCS). Its unique long-range lamellar multi-arch microstructure enables tunable MA performance and excellent thermal insulation capability. Adjusting compression strain from 0% to 50%, the adjustable effective absorption bandwidth (EAB) spans up to 13.4 GHz, covering 84% of the measured frequency spectrum. Notably, at 75% strain, the EAB drops to 0 GHz, demonstrating a novel "on-off" switchability for MA performance. Its ultralow vertical thermal conductivity (12.7 mW m-1 K-1) and unique anisotropic heat transfer mechanism endow FCS with superior thermal protection effectiveness. Numerical simulations demonstrate that FCS outperforms common honeycomb structures and isotropic porous aerogels in thermal management. Furthermore, an "electromagnetic-thermal" dual-protection material database is established, which intuitively demonstrates the superiority of the solution. This work contributes to the advancement of multifunctional MA materials with significant potential for practical applications.

Abstract
Graphene aerogels, as a novel type of carbon-based composite material, have shown great potential in the field of wave absorption due to its characteristics of high conductivity, adjustable structure and good corrosion resistance. It is of great significance to precisely control the dielectric properties of graphene aerogel composites by effectively adjusting their microstructures through the preparing process design, ultimately leading to improve their wave-absorbing performances. In this study, two kinds of graphene/cellulose aerogel composites with three-dimensional porous structures, were successfully prepared using graphene and short staple cellulose as raw materials via the freeze-drying method based on the dissolution-regeneration strategy. A comparative analysis was conducted to examine the differences of microstructures, dielectric properties and corresponding electromagnetic wave absorption performances, which reveals that the graphene/cellulose aerogel composites with graphene nanosheets incorporated into the cellulose matrix realize superior absorbing performances. The graphene/cellulose aerogel composite with a 32 wt% graphene addition realizes effective electromagnetic wave absorbing (reflection loss less than -10 dB) in the whole X-band (8-12.4 GHz) in a relatively large thickness range (3.9-4.7 mm). The densities of the proposed aerogel are no more than 0.02 g/cm3, demonstrating great potential for excellent lightweight microwave absorbing materials. The multiscale electromagnetic wave absorption mechanism is summarized, which would provide an important reference for designing ultra-lightweight absorbing materials with perfect absorption in wideband.

Abstract
Atomic-scale doping strategies and structure design play pivotal roles in tailoring the electronic structure and physicochemical property of electromagnetic wave absorption (EMWA) materials. However, the relationship between configuration and electromagnetic (EM) loss mechanism has remained elusive. Herein, drawing inspiration from the DNA transcription process, we report the successful synthesis of novel in situ Mn/N co-doped helical carbon nanotubes with ultrabroad EMWA capability. Theoretical calculation and EM simulation confirm that the orbital coupling and spin polarization of the Mn-N4-C configuration, along with cross polarization generated by the helical structure, endow the helical converters with enhanced EM loss. As a result, HMC-8 demonstrates outstanding EMWA performance, achieving a minimum reflection loss of -63.13 dB at an ultralow thickness of 1.29 mm. Through precise tuning of the graphite domain size, HMC-7 achieves an effective absorption bandwidth (EAB) of 6.08 GHz at 2.02 mm thickness. Furthermore, constructing macroscale gradient metamaterials enables an ultrabroadband EAB of 12.16 GHz at a thickness of only 5.00 mm, with the maximum radar cross section reduction value reaching 36.4 dB m2. This innovative approach not only advances the understanding of metal-nonmetal co-doping but also realizes broadband EMWA, thus contributing to the development of EMWA mechanisms and applications.

Abstract
The construction of heterogeneous microstructure and the selection of multicomponents have turned into a research hotspot in developing ultralight, multifunctional, high-efficiency electromagnetic wave absorbing (EMA) materials. Although aerogels are promising materials to fulfill the above requirements, the increase in functional fillers inevitably leads to the deterioration of intrinsic properties. Tuning the electromagnetic properties from the structural design point of view remains a difficult challenge. Herein, we design customized pore creation strategies via introducing sacrificial templates to optimize the conductive path and construct the discontinuous dielectric medium, increasing dielectric loss and achieving efficient microwave absorption properties. A 3D porous composite (MEM) was crafted, which encapsulated an EVA/FeCoNi (EVA/MNPs) framework with Ti3C2Tx MXene coating by employing a direct heated cross-linking and immersion method. Controllable adjustment of the conductive network inside the porous structure and regulation of the dielectric character are achieved by porosity variation. Eventually, the MEM-5 with a porosity of 66.67% realizes RLmin of -39.2 dB (2.2 mm) and can cover the entire X band. Moreover, through off-axis electronic holography and the calculation of conduction loss and polarization loss, the dielectric property is deeply investigated, and the inner mechanism of optimization is pointed out. Thanks to the inherent characteristic of EVA and the porous structure, MEM-5 showed excellent thermal insulating and superior compressibility, which can maintain 60 °C on a 90-100 °C continuous heating stage and reached a maximum compressive strength of 60.12 kPa at 50% strain. Conceivably, this work provides a facile method for the fabrication of highly efficient microwave absorbers applied under complex conditions.

Abstract
Imidacloprid (IMI) are widely used in modern tea industry for pest control, but IMI residues pose a great threat to human health. Herein, we propose a regeneration metal-semiconductor SERS substrate for IMI detection. We fabricated the SERS sensor through the in-situ growth of a nano-heterostructure incorporating a semiconductor (TiO2) and plasmonic metals (Au, Ag) on oxidized carbon cloth (OCC). Leveraging the high-density hot spots, the formed Ag/AuNPs-TiO2-OCC substrate exhibits higher enhancement factors (1.92 × 108) and uniformity (RSD = 7.68%). As for the detection of IMI on the substrate, the limit of detection was lowered to 4.1 × 10-6 μg/mL. With a hydrophobic structure, the Ag/AuNPs-TiO2-OCC possessed excellent self-cleaning performance addressing the limitation of single-use associated with traditional SERS substrates, as well as the degradation capability of the substrate under ultraviolet (UV) light. Accordingly, Ag/AuNPs-TiO2-OCC showcases outstanding SERS sensing and regenerating properties, making it poised for extensive application in the field of food safety assurance.

Abstract
Ceria (CeO2) becomes a promising candidate as electromagnetic wave absorbing materials (EWAMs) for their abundant natural source, rich oxygen vacancy, charge conversion, and electron transfer abilities. However, it remains challenging to regulate its nanoscale and atom-scale composition to optimize the absorbing performance and develop high-performance commercial devices. Herein, a facile method to large-scale synthesis CeO2@Co-x% (x = 5, 7, 9, 11, 13) series EWAMs with diverse amounts of decorated CoOx is presented. By modulating the ratio of doped CoOx, a rational hetero-interface is created in CeO2@Co-9% to enhance natural and exchange resonances, improving magnetic loss capability and optimizing impedance matching. Doped CoOx promotes the charge accumulation, interfacial polarization, and multiple scattering of the CeO2 for strengthening the EW absorption and attenuation, which display superb minimum reflective loss (RLmin) of -74.4 dB with a wide effective absorbing bandwidth (EAB) of 5.26 GHz. Furthermore, a dual crosslinking strategy is employed to fabricate CeO2@Co-9% into an aerogel device with integrated lightweight, heat insulation, compression resistance, and fame-retardant functions. This work presents an excellent example of large-scale fast synthesis of high-performance CeO2-based EWAMs and multiplication 3D devices.

Abstract
Carbon fiber (CF) is a potential microwave absorption (MA) material due to the strong dielectric loss. Nevertheless, owing to the high conductivity, poor impedance matching of carbon-based materials results in limited MA performance. How to solve this problem and achieve excellent MA performance remains a principal challenge. Herein, taking full advantage of CF and excellent impedance matching of bimetallic metal-organic frameworks (MOF) derivatives layer, an excellent microwave absorber based on micron-scale 1D CF and NiCoMOF (CF@NiCoMOF-800) is developed. After adjusting the oxygen vacancies of the bimetallic MOF, the resultant microwave absorber presented excellent MA properties including the minimum reflection loss (RLmin) of -80.63 dB and wide effective absorption bandwidth (EAB) of 8.01 GHz when its mass percent is only 5 wt.% and the thickness is 2.59 mm. Simultaneously, the mechanical properties of the epoxy resin (EP)-based coating with this microwave absorber are effectively improved. The hardness (H), elastic modulus (E), bending strength, and compressive strength of CF@NiCoMOF-800/EP coating are 334 MPa, 5.56 GPa, 82.2 MPa, and 135.8 MPa, which is 38%, 15%, 106% and 53% higher than EP coating. This work provides a promising solution for carbon materials achieving excellent MA properties and mechanical properties.

Abstract
A complex electromagnetic environment is a formidable challenge in national defense areas. Microwave-absorbing materials are considered as a strategy to tackle this challenge. In this work, lightweight, flexible, and thermal insulating Carbon/SiO2@CNTs (CSC) aerogel is successfully prepared coupled with outstanding microwave absorbing performance, through freeze-drying and high-temperature annealing techniques. The CSC aerogel shows a strong reflection loss (-55.16 dB) as well as wide effective absorbing bandwidth (8.5 GHz) in 2-18 GHz. It also retains good microwave absorption properties under tension and compression. Radar cross-sectional (RCS) simulation result demonstrates the CSC processing a strong reduction ability of RCS compared with a metal plate. Further exploration shows amazing flexibility and good thermal insulation properties of CSC. The successful preparation of this composite aerogel provides a broad prospect for the design of microwave-absorbing materials.

Abstract
Solar-driven interfacial evaporation from seawater is considered an effective way to alleviate the emerging freshwater crisis because of its green and environmentally friendly characteristics. However, developing an evaporator with high efficiency, stability, and salt resistance remains a key challenge. MXene, with an internal photothermal conversion efficiency of 100%, has received tremendous research interest as a photothermal material. However, the process to prepare the MXene with monolayer is inefficient and generates a large amount of "waste" MXene sediments (MS). Here, MXene sediments is selected as the photothermal material, and a three-dimensional MXene sediments/poly(vinyl alcohol)/sodium alginate aerogel evaporator with vertically aligned pores by directional freezing method is innovatively designed. The vertical porous structure enables the evaporator to improve water transport, light capture, and high evaporation rate. Cotton swabs and polypropylene are used as the water channel and support, respectively, thus fabricating a self-floating evaporator. The evaporator exhibits an evaporation rate of 3.6 kg m-2 h-1 under one-sun illumination, and 18.37 kg m-2 of freshwater is collected in the condensation collection device after 7 h of outdoor sun irradiation. The evaporator also displays excellent oil and salt resistance. This research fully utilizes "waste" MS, enabling a self-floating evaporation device for freshwater collection.

Abstract
Considering the serious electromagnetic wave (EMW) pollution problems and complex application condition, there is a pressing need to amalgamate multiple functionalities within a single substance. However, the effective integration of diverse functions into designed EMW absorption materials still faces the huge challenges. Herein, reduced graphene oxide/carbon foams (RGO/CFs) with two-dimensional/three-dimensional (2D/3D) van der Waals (vdWs) heterostructures were meticulously engineered and synthesized utilizing an efficient methodology involving freeze-drying, immersing absorption, secondary freeze-drying, followed by carbonization treatment. Thanks to their excellent linkage effect of amplified dielectric loss and optimized impedance matching, the designed 2D/3D RGO/CFs vdWs heterostructures demonstrated commendable EMW absorption performances, achieving a broad absorption bandwidth of 6.2 GHz and a reflection loss of - 50.58 dB with the low matching thicknesses. Furthermore, the obtained 2D/3D RGO/CFs vdWs heterostructures also displayed the significant radar stealth properties, good corrosion resistance performances as well as outstanding thermal insulation capabilities, displaying the great potential in complex and variable environments. Accordingly, this work not only demonstrated a straightforward method for fabricating 2D/3D vdWs heterostructures, but also outlined a powerful mixed-dimensional assembly strategy for engineering multifunctional foams for electromagnetic protection, aerospace and other complex conditions.

Abstract
During the past decade, ever-increasing electromagnetic pollution has excited a global concern. A sustainable resource, facile experimental scenario, fascinating reflection loss (RL), and broad efficient bandwidth are the substantial factors that intrigue researchers. This research led to the achievement of a brilliant microwave-absorbing material by treating pampas as biomass. The carbon-based microfibers attained by biowaste were treated by plasma under diverse environments to amplify their microwave-absorbing features. Moreover, a pyrolysis scenario was performed to compare the results. The reductive processes were performed by H2 plasma and carbonization. However, the CO2 plasma was performed to regulate the heteroatoms and defects. Interestingly, polystyrene (PS) was applied as a microwave-absorbing matrix. The aromatic rings existing in the absorbing medium establish electrostatic interactions, elevating interfacial polarization, and physical characteristics of PS augment the practical applications of the final product. The manipulated biomasses were characterized by Raman, X-ray diffraction, energy-dispersive spectroscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy, and diffuse reflection spectroscopy analyses. Eventually, the microwave-absorbing features were estimated by a vector network analyzer. The plasma-treated pampas under H2/Ar blended with PS gained a maximum RL of -90.65 dB at 8.79 GHz and an efficient bandwidth (RL ≤ -10 dB) of 4.24 GHz with a thickness of 3.20 mm; meanwhile, plasma treatment under CO2 led to a maximum RL of 97.99 dB at 14.92 GHz and an efficient bandwidth of 7.74 GHz with a 2.05 mm thickness. Particularly, the biomass plasmolyzed under Ar covered the entire X and Ku bands with a thickness of 2.10 mm. Notably, total shielding efficiencies of the treated bioinspired materials were up to ≈99%, desirable for practical applications.

Abstract
Carbon fiber composites have great application prospects as a potential electromagnetic (EM) wave-absorbing material, yet it remains extremely challenging to integrate multiple functions of EM wave absorption, mechanical strength, thermal insulation, and flame retardancy. Herein, a novel carbon fiber reinforced C/SiOC aerogel (CF/CS) composite is successfully prepared by sol-gel impregnation combined with an ambient drying process for the first time. The density of the obtained CF/CS composites can be controlled just by changing sol-gel impregnation cycles (original carbon fiber felt (S0), and samples with one (S1) and two (S2) impregnation cycles are 0.249, 0.324, and 0.402 g cm-3, respectively), allowing for efficient tuning of their properties. Remarkably, S2 displays excellent microwave absorption properties, with an optimal reflection loss of -65.45 dB, which is significantly improved than S0 (-10.90 dB). Simultaneously, compared with S0 (0.75 and 0.30 MPa in the x/y and z directions), the mechanical performance of S2 is dramatically improved with a maximum compressive strength of 10.37 and 4.93 MPa in the x/y and z directions, respectively. Moreover, CF/CS composites show superior thermal insulation capability than S0 and obtain good flame-retardant properties. This work provides valuable guidance and inspiration for the development of multifunctional EM wave absorbers.

Abstract
With the diversified development of big data, detection and precision guidance technologies, electromagnetic (EM) functional materials and devices serving multiple spectrums have become a hot topic. Exploring the multispectral response of materials is a challenging and meaningful scientific question. In this study, MXene/TiO2 hybrids with tunable conduction loss and polarization relaxation are fabricated by in situ atomic reconstruction engineering. More importantly, MXene/TiO2 hybrids exhibit adjustable spectral responses in the GHz, infrared and visible spectrums, and several EM devices are constructed based on this. An antenna array provides excellent EM energy harvesting in multiple microwave bands, with |S11| up to - 63.2 dB, and can be tuned by the degree of bending. An ultra-wideband bandpass filter realizes a passband of about 5.4 GHz and effectively suppresses the transmission of EM signals in the stopband. An infrared stealth device has an emissivity of less than 0.2 in the infrared spectrum at wavelengths of 6-14 µm. This work can provide new inspiration for the design and development of multifunctional, multi-spectrum EM devices.

Abstract
Microwave-absorbing materials with regulatable absorption frequency and optical camouflage hold great significance in intelligent electronic devices and advanced stealth technology. Herein, we present an innovative microwave-absorbing foam that can dynamically tune microwave absorption frequencies via a simple mechanical compression while in parallel enabling optical camouflage over broad spectral ranges by adjusting the structural colors. The vivid colors spanning different color categories generated from thin-film interference can be precisely regulated by adjusting the thickness of the conformal TiO2 coatings on Ni/melamine foam. Enhanced interfacial and defect-induced polarizations resulting from the introduction of TiO2 coating synergistically contribute to the dielectric attenuation performance. Consequently, such a foam exhibits exceptional microwave absorption capabilities, and the absorption frequency can be dynamically tuned from the S band to the Ku band by manipulating its compression ratio. Additionally, simulation calculations validate the adjustable electromagnetic wave loss behavior, offering valuable insights for the development of next-generation intelligent electromagnetic devices across diverse fields.

Abstract
In this work, a simple and cost-effective method was proposed and developed to prepare a novel multilayer-structured Kevlar®@nickel-phosphorus-boron@copper@copper stearate (Kevlar®@Ni-P-B@Cu@CS) composite fabric with high conductivity, high flexibility, high hydrophobicity, and high durability to effectively shield electromagnetic interference (EMI). In this method, an amorphous Ni-P-B alloy nanolayer was initially deposited onto a Kevlar® fabric via electroless plating. Afterward, a crystalline Cu nanolayer was deposited as the second layer via electroplating. Finally, a monolayer of copper stearate was innovatively self-assembled as the outermost protective layer. The Cu deposition was effectively adjusted and designed by controlling the plating current and plating time. The electrical resistance and contact angle of the optimized Kevlar®@Ni-P-B@Cu@CS composite fabric were as low as 3.2 mΩ sq-1 and as high as 115.39°, respectively, indicating that the fabric could withstand bending, tape-off, corrosion, and accelerated environmental tests. The average EMI-shielding efficiency of the durable composite fabric was 93.9 dB in the frequency range of 8.2-12.4 GHz, which was mainly attributed to the absorption loss. Thus, the proposed material configuration has promise for applications in aviation, aerospace, telecommunication, wearable devices, and military industries.

Abstract
The exploitation of advanced electromagnetic functional devices is perceived as the effective prescription to deal with environmental contamination and energy deficiency. From the perspective of observing and imitating nature, pine branch-like zirconium dioxide/cobalt nanotubes@nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes are synthesized victoriously through maneuverable electrospinning process and follow-up thermal treatments. In particular, introducing carbon nanotubes on the surface of hollow nanofibers to construct hierarchical architecture vastly promoted the material's dielectric properties by significantly augmenting specific surface area, generating abundant heterogeneous interfaces, and inducing the formation of defects. Supplemented by the synergistic effect between each constituent, ultra-strong attenuation capacity and perfect impedance matching characteristics are implemented simultaneously, and jointly made contributions to the splendid microwave absorption performance with a minimum reflection loss of -67.9 dB at 1.5 mm. Moreover, this fibrous absorber also exhibited promising potential to be utilized as a green and efficient electromagnetic interference shielding material when the filler loading is enhanced. Therefore, this design philosophy is destined to inspire the future development of energy conversion and storage devices, and provide theoretical direction for the creation of sophisticated electromagnetic functional materials.

Abstract
Recently, microwave absorption (MA) materials have attracted intensive research attention for their ability to counteract the effects of ever-growing electromagnetic pollution. However, conventional microwave absorbers suffer from complex fabrication processes, poor stability and different optimal thicknesses for minimum reflection loss (RLmin) and widest effective absorption bandwidth (EAB). To address these issues, we have used electrospinning followed by high-temperature annealing in argon to develop a flexible microwave absorber with strong wideband absorption. The MA properties of the carbon nanofibers (CNFs) can be tuned by adjusting annealing temperature, and are dependent on the composition and microstructure of the CNFs. The absorber membrane obtained at 800 °C consists of Fe0.64Ni0.36@graphite core-shell nanoparticles (NPs) embedded in CNFs, formed via a corrosion-like transformation from NiFe2O4 to Fe0.64Ni0.36 followed by surface graphitization. This nanostructure greatly enhances magnetic-dielectric synergistic loss to achieve superior MA properties, with an RLmin of -57.7 dB and an EAB of 6.48 GHz (11.20-17.68 GHz) both acquired at a thickness of 2.1 mm. This work provides useful insights into structure-property relationship of the CNFs, sheds light on the formation mechanism of Fe0.64Ni0.36@graphite NPs, and offers a simple synthesis route to fabricate light-weight and flexible microwave absorbers.

Abstract
The electron migration polarization is considered as a promising approach to optimize electromagnetic waves (EMW) dissipation. However, it is still difficult to realize well-controlled electron migration and elucidate the related EMW loss mechanisms for current researches. Herein, a novel Fex N@NGC/Ce system to construct an effective electron migration model based on the electron leaps among the 4f/5d/6s orbitals of Ce ions is explored. In Fe4 N@NGC/CeSA+Cs+NPs , Ce single-atoms (SA) mainly represent a +3 valence state, which can feed the electrons to Ce4+ of clusters (Cs) and CeO2 nanoparticles (NPs) through a conductive network under EMW, leading to the electron migration polarization. Such electron migration loss combined with excellent magnetic loss provided by Fe4 N core, results in the optimal EMW attenuation performance with a minimum reflection loss exceeds -85.1 dB and a broadened absorption bandwidth up to 7.5 GHz at 1.5 mm. This study clarifies the in-depth relationship between electron migration polarization and EMW dissipation, providing profound insights into developing well-coordinated magnetic-dielectric nanocomposites for EMW absorption engineering.

Abstract
Insulated-Gate Bipolar Transistors (IGBT) face limitations in high-frequency electronic applications due to heat accumulation and electromagnetic interference issues. To address these challenges, it is crucial to develop packing materials with excellent electromagnetic interference immunity and heat dissipation properties. In this research, a novel epoxy-based packing material (MDCF@C-ZrO2/EP) with high electromagnetic wave absorption and exceptional thermal transport properties was produced by employing a unique three-dimensional carbon structure-induced nanomaterial dispersion strategy. In particular, the three-dimensional MDCF structure effectively prevents packing agglomeration and fosters the formation of an abundant hetero-interface between MDCF and C-ZrO2, leading to improved impedance matching and enhanced electromagnetic wave dissipation capabilities. Remarkably, even at a mere 5 wt% filling level, the material demonstrates an impressive reflection loss value of -58.92 dB and a wide effective absorption bandwidth of 6.68 GHz, effectively covering the entire Ku-band. Additionally, the 3D MDCF@C-ZrO2 significantly enhances the phonon transport path and elevates the thermal conductivity of pure epoxy resin by an impressive ∼ 150%. As a result, this innovative research holds tremendous potential in enabling the application of IGBTs in high-power and high-frequency electronic components, while also contributing to the advancement of next-generation wireless communications and smart devices.

Abstract
BACKGROUND In recent years, severe electromagnetic interference among electronic devices has been caused by the unprecedented growth of communication systems. Therefore, microwave absorbing materials are required to relieve these problems by absorbing the unwanted microwave. In the design of microwave absorbers, magnetic nanomaterials have to be used as fine particles dispersed in an insulating matrix. Besides the intrinsic properties of these materials, the structure and morphology are also crucial to the microwave absorption performance of the composite. In this study, Ni-Co- MWCNT composites were synthesized, and the changes in electric permittivity, magnetic permeability, and reflectance loss of the samples were evaluated at frequencies of 2 to 18 GHz. METHODS Nickel-Cobalt-Multi Wall Carbon Nanotubes (MWCNT) composites were successfully synthesized by the co-precipitation chemical method. The structural, morphological, and magnetic properties of the samples were characterized and investigated by X-ray diffractometer (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM), and Vector Network Analyzer (VNA). RESULTS The results revealed that the Ni-Co-MWCNT composite has the highest electromagnetic wave absorption rate with a reflectance loss of -70.22 dB at a frequency of 10.12 GHz with a thickness of 1.8 mm. The adequate absorption bandwidth (RL <-10 dB) was 6.9 GHz at the high-frequency region, exhibiting excellent microwave absorbing properties as a good microwave absorber patent. CONCLUSION Based on this study, it can be argued that the Ni-Co-MWCNT composite can be a good candidate for making light absorbers of radar waves at frequencies 2- 18 GHz.

Abstract
Traditional carbon materials such as graphene are often applied in the field of electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorption but they have unbalanced impedance matching and high conductivity. Bio-carbon with graphene-like structure derived from apples has many advantages over graphene: it can be prepared in large quantities and the abundant heteroatoms present in the lattice can provide many polarization phenomena. Herein, Prussian blue analogue (PBA) as a source of magnetic component was combined with bio-carbon or reduced graphene oxide (rGO) to study the EMW absorption properties. The fabricated BC/CFC-12-7 displayed performance with a minimum reflection loss (RLmin) of -72.57 dB and a wide effective absorption bandwidth (EAB) of 5.25 GHz with an ultra-thin and nearly equal matching thickness at 1.61 mm. The results show that the good EMW absorption property of bio-carbon composites comes from good conduction loss, large relaxation polarization loss especially from pyridinic-N, and better impedance matching. The optimized radar cross section is found to be -33.55 dB m2 in the far-field condition using CST. This work explored the advantages of bio-carbon as a novel EMW absorbing material compared with graphene and provided ideas for realizing high-performance EMW absorbing materials in the future.

Abstract
The demand of microwave absorption materials (MAMs) with unique morphologies and electromagnetic (EM) balance has become necessary in recent years. Due to the ease of synthesis and tunable structure, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are widely used for this special MAMs. In this study, a new three-dimensional hybrid MOF is proposed that is co-doped with six equally branched star morphologies. The Co-C composite has the same six-branched morphology as that of the precursor. When the EM wave is incident, this special structure makes it easier for the EM wave to enter the material vertically due to the expansion of the incident surface, which is effective in adjusting the transmission path of the electron and the reflection and distribution of the EM wave. Because of the special morphology and magneto-dielectric synergy, the Co-C composite shows a minimum reflection loss (RLmin) of -48.5 dB at 11.0 GHz at an absorption thickness of 3.0 mm, with a microwave absorption bandwidth (EAB) of 6.1 GHz. This research provides a practical guidance for preparing the MAMs of special star structure.

Abstract
Carbon-based aerogels derived from biomass chitosan are encountering a flourishing moment in electromagnetic protection on account of lightweight, controllable fabrication and versatility. Nevertheless, developing a facile construction method of component design with carbon-based aerogels for high-efficiency electromagnetic wave absorption (EWA) materials with a broad effective absorption bandwidth (EAB) and strong absorption yet hits some snags. Herein, the nitrogen-doped magnetic-dielectric-carbon aerogel was obtained via ice template method followed by carbonization treatment, homogeneous and abundant nickel (Ni) and manganese oxide (MnO) particles in situ grew on the carbon aerogels. Thanks to the optimization of impedance matching of dielectric/magnetic components to carbon aerogels, the nitrogen-doped magnetic-dielectric-carbon aerogel (Ni/MnO-CA) suggests a praiseworthy EWA performance, with an ultra-wide EAB of 7.36 GHz and a minimum reflection loss (RLmin) of - 64.09 dB, while achieving a specific reflection loss of - 253.32 dB mm-1. Furthermore, the aerogel reveals excellent radar stealth, infrared stealth, and thermal management capabilities. Hence, the high-performance, easy fabricated and multifunctional nickel/manganese oxide/carbon aerogels have broad application aspects for electromagnetic protection, electronic devices and aerospace.

Abstract
Flexible microwave absorbers with Joule heating performance are urgently desired to meet the demands of extreme service environments. Herein, a type of flexible composite film is constructed by homogeneously dispersing a hierarchical Ni-carbon microtube (Ni/CMT) into a processable polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) matrix. The Ni/CMT are interconnected into a 3D conductive network, in which the huge interior cavity of the carbon microtube (CMT) improves impedance matching and provides additional hyper channels for electromagnetic (EM) waves dissipation, and the hierarchical magnetic Ni nanoparticles enhance the synergistic interactions between confined heterogeneous interfaces. Such an ingenious structure endows the composites with excellent electrothermal performance and improves their serviceability for application under extreme environments. Moreover, under a low fill loading of 3 wt.%, the Ni/CMT/PTFE (NCP) can achieve excellent low-frequency microwave absorption (MA) property with a minimum reflection loss of -59.12 dB at 5.92 GHz, which covers almost the entire C-band. Relying on their brilliant MA property, an EM sensor is designed and achieved by the resonance coupling of the patterned NCP. This work opens up a new way for the design of next-generation microwave absorbers that meet the requirements of EM packaging, proofing water and removing ice, fire safety, and health monitoring.

Abstract
Developing multifunctional materials with superior thermal conductivity and microwave absorption is an effective means to address the increasingly serious electromagnetic (EM) compatibility and heat dissipation problems in modern electron devices. Here, multifunctional MgO/Mg(OH)2/C, MgO/M/C (M = Co, Ni, Cu), and MgO/NOx/C (N = Fe, Mn) hybrid foams were synthesized using a facile one-step gas-bubble-assisted combustion method, and their texture, composition, and properties were regulated by tuning salt type and feeding ratio. Our results show that the MgO/Co/C foams have high thermal conductivity (3.40-4.09 W m-1 K-1) with a filler load of 20-50 wt% at the Co2+ molar content of φ = 70 mol% and excellent EM wave absorption (EABW = 11.44 GHz), with a thickness of 2.1 mm and a minimal reflection loss of -59.42 dB at φ = 90 mol%. The enhanced properties are ascribed to the construction of foams with 3D interconnected networks and the synergistic effect of magnetic Co, insulating MgO, and dielectric C, which provide a continuous pathway for electron/phonon relay transmission and magnetic/dielectric dual losses. Moreover, the MgO/Co/C foams possess strong mechanical/hydrophobicity performance, tunable magnetic properties, and electrical conductivity, and can be applied in self-cleaning, electromagnetic interference, and heat management. Overall, this study offers a novel understanding of preparing multifunctional heat conductive-EM wave absorptive foam materials in modern electronic devices.

Abstract
High-performance microwave absorption (MA) materials have attracted more and more attention because they can effectively prevent microwave radiation and interference from electronic devices. Herein, a new type of MA composite is constructed by introducing carbon nanotubes (CNTs)-anchored metal-organic framework derivatives (MOFDs) into a conductive carbon nanocoil (CNC) network, denoted as CNC/CNT-MOFD. The CNC/MOFD shows a wide effective absorption band of 6.7 GHz under a filling ratio of only 9% in wax-matrix. This is attributed to the hierarchical and porous structures of MOFD bridged by the uniformly dispersed conductive CNC network and the cross-polarization induced by the 3D spiral CNCs. Besides, the as-grown 1D CNTs improve space utilization, porosity, and polarization loss of the composites, resulting in the increase of imaginary permittivity, which further realizes impedance matching and energy attenuation. The Ni nanoparticles in layers of MOFD and at the tips of CNTs generate magnetic loss, promoting the low-frequency absorption ability. Resultantly, RCS values of the optimized composite in all tested theta (θ) ranges are less than -25 dB m2 at 9.5 GHz, effectively reducing the probability of the target detected by the radar.

Abstract
Graphene aerogels have gained considerable attention due to their unique physical properties, but their poor mechanical properties and lack of functionality have hindered their advanced applications. In this study, we propose a blend-spinning-assisted freeze-casting (BSFC) strategy to incorporate particle-modified carbon fibers into graphene aerogels for mechanical strengthening and functional enhancement. This method offers a great deal of freedom in the creation of customizable multimaterial, multiscale structural graphene aerogels. For example, we fabricated silicon carbide particle modified carbon fiber reinforced graphene (SiC/CF-GA) aerogels. The resulting aerogels display excellent properties such as being ultralightweight and highly resilient and having fatigue compression resistance (1000 cycles at 50% strain). Meanwhile, enhanced resilience inspired the effective strain-sensing capabilities of SiC/CF-GA aerogels with a sensitivity of 13.8 kPa-1. The adjustable dielectric properties due to SiC particle incorporation endow the SiC/CF-GA aerogel with a broad-band (8.0 GHz) effective electromagnetic wave attenuation performance. Besides, different particles could be incorporated into graphene aerogels via the BSFC strategy, allowing for customizable designs. Moreover, multifunctionalities were demonstrated by the modified aerogels, including noise absorption, thermal insulation, fire resistance, and waterproofing, further diversifying their practicality. Hence, the BSFC strategy provides a customized solution for fabricating modified graphene aerogels for advanced functional applications.

Abstract
Cellulosic aerogels (CNF) are considered naturally available thermal insulating materials as substitutes for conventional polymeric aerogels owing to their extensive sources, low density, low thermal conductivity, sustainability and biodegradability. However, cellulosic aerogels suffer from high flammability and hygroscopicity. In this work, a novel P/N-containing flame retardant (TPMPAT) was synthesized to modify cellulosic aerogels to improve their anti-flammability. TPMPAT/CNF aerogels were further modified by polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) to enhance the water-proof characteristics. Although the addition of TPMPAT and/or PDMS slightly increased the density and thermal conductivity of the composite aerogels, those values were still comparable to the commercial polymeric aerogels. Compared with pure CNF aerogel, the cellulose aerogel modified by TPMPAT and/or PDMS had higher T-10%, T-50% and Tmax, which indicated that the modified cellulose aerogels have better thermal stability. TPMPAT modification made CNF aerogels highly hydrophilic, while TPMPAT/CNF aerogel modified by PDMS became a highly hydrophobic material with a water contact angle (WCA) of 142°. Pure CNF aerogel burned rapidly after ignition, showing a low limiting oxygen index (LOI) of 23.0% and no UL-94 grade. In contrast, both TPMPAT/CNF-30% and PDMS-TPMPAT/CNF-30% showed self-extinction behaviors with a UL-94 V-0 grade, implying high fire resistance. Combined with high anti-flammability and hydrophobicity, the ultra-light-weight cellulosic aerogels show great potential for thermal insulation applications.

Abstract
Two-dimensional transition metal carbides and nitrides (MXene) have emerged as promising candidates for microwave absorption (MA) materials. However, they also have some drawbacks, such as poor impedance matching, high self-stacking tendency, and high density. To tackle these challenges, MXene nanosheets were incorporated into polyacrylonitrile (PAN) nanofibers and subsequently assembled into a three-dimensional (3D) network structure through PAN carbonization, yielding MXene/C aerogels. The 3D network effectively extends the path of microcurrent transmission, leading to enhanced conductive loss of electromagnetic (EM) waves. Moreover, the aerogel's rich pore structure significantly improves the impedance matching while effectively reducing the density of the MXene-based absorbers. EM parameter analysis shows that the MXene/C aerogels exhibit a minimum reflection loss (RLmin) value of - 53.02 dB (f = 4.44 GHz, t = 3.8 mm), and an effective absorption bandwidth (EAB) of 5.3 GHz (t = 2.4 mm, 7.44-12.72 GHz). Radar cross-sectional (RCS) simulations were employed to assess the radar stealth effect of the aerogels, revealing that the maximum RCS reduction value of the perfect electric conductor covered by the MXene/C aerogel reaches 12.02 dB m2. In addition to the MA performance, the MXene/C aerogel also demonstrates good thermal insulation performance, and a 5-mm-thick aerogel can generate a temperature gradient of over 30 °C at 82 °C. This study provides a feasible design approach for creating lightweight, efficient, and multifunctional MXene-based MA materials.

Abstract
Porous 2D materials with high conductivity and large surface area have been proposed for potential electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding materials in future mobility and wearable applications to prevent signal noise, transmission inaccuracy, system malfunction, and health hazards. Here, we report on the synthesis of lightweight and flexible flash-induced porous graphene (FPG) with excellent EMI shielding performance. The broad spectrum of pulsed flashlight induces photo-chemical and photo-thermal reactions in polyimide films, forming 5 × 10 cm2-size porous graphene with a hollow pillar structure in a few milliseconds. The resulting material demonstrated low density (0.0354 g cm-3) and outstanding absolute EMI shielding effectiveness of 1.12 × 105 dB cm2 g-1. The FPG was characterized via thorough material analyses, and its mechanical durability and flexibility were confirmed by a bending cycle test. Finally, the FPG was utilized in drone and wearable applications, showing effective EMI shielding performance for internal/external EMI in a drone radar system and reducing the specific absorption rate in the human body.

Abstract
Aerogel is a high-performance thermal resistance material desired for high-temperature applications like dye-sensitized solar cells, batteries, and fuel cells. To increase the energy efficiency of batteries, an aerogel is required to reduce the energy loss arising from the exothermal reaction. This paper synthesized a different composition of inorganic-organic hybrid material by growing the silica aerogel inside a polyacrylamide (PAAm) hydrogel. The hybrid PaaS/silica aerogel was synthesized using different irradiation doses of gamma rays (10-60 kGy) and different solid contents of PAAm (6.25, 9.37, 12.5, and 30 wt %). Here, PAAm is used as an aerogel formation template and carbon precursor after the carbonization process at a temperature of (150, 350, and 1100 °C). The hybrid PAAm/silica aerogel was converted into aluminum/silicate aerogels after soaking in a solution of AlCl3. Then, the carbonization process takes place at a temperature of (150, 350, and 1100 °C) for 2 h to provide C/Al/Si aerogels with a density of around 0.18-0.040 gm/cm3 and porosity of 84-95%. The hybrid C/Al/Si aerogels presented interconnected networks of porous structures with different pore sizes depending on the carbon and PAAm contents. The sample with a solid content of 30% PAAm in the C/Al/Si aerogel was composed of interconnected fibrils whose diameter was about 50 μm. The structure after carbonization at 350 and 1100 °C was a condensed opening porous 3D network structure. This sample gives the optimum thermal resistance and a very low thermal conductivity of 0.073 (w/m·k) at low carbon content (2.71% at temperature 1100 °C) and high vpore (95%) compared with carbon content 42.38% and vpore (93%) which give 0.102 (w/m·k). This is because at 1100 °C, the carbon atoms evolve to leave an area between Al/Si aerogel particles, increasing the pore size. Furthermore, the Al/Si aerogel had excellent removal ability for various oil samples.

Abstract
The development of graphene-based electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorbers with broad bandwidth, strong absorption and low filling ratio remains a big challenge. In this work, hollow copper ferrite microspheres decorated nitrogen-doped reduced graphene oxide (NRGO/hollow CuFe2O4) hybrid composites were prepared by a two-step route of solvothermal reaction and hydrothermal synthesis. Results of microscopic morphology analysis showed that the NRGO/hollow CuFe2O4 hybrid composites had a special entanglement structure between hollow CuFe2O4 microspheres and wrinkled NRGO. Moreover, the EMW absorption properties of as-prepared hybrid composites could be regulated by changing the additive amounts of hollow CuFe2O4. It was worth noting that when the additive amount of hollow CuFe2O4 was 15.0 mg, the attained hybrid composites showed the optimal EMW absorption performance. The minimum reflection loss reached up to -34.18 dB at a thin matching thickness of 1.98 mm and a low filling ratio of 20.0 wt%, and the corresponding effective absorption bandwidth was as large as 5.92 GHz, covering almost the whole Ku band. Furthermore, when the matching thickness was increased to 3.02 mm, the EMW absorption capacity was significantly enhanced, and the optimal reflection loss value of -58.45 dB was achieved. In addition, the possible EMW absorption mechanisms were proposed. Therefore, the structural design and composition regulation strategy presented in this work would provide a great reference value for the preparation of broadband and efficient graphene-based EMW absorbing materials.

Abstract
The development of multifunctional microwave absorbing materials for practical applications in complex environments is a challenging research hotspot. Herein, the core-shell structure FeCo@C nanocages were successfully anchored on the surface of biomass-derived carbon (BDC) from pleurotus eryngii (PE) via freeze-drying and electrostatic self-assembly process, achieving lightweight, anti-corrosive, and excellent absorption properties. The superior versatility benefits from the large specific surface area, high conductivity, three-dimensional cross-linked networks, and appropriate impedance matching characteristics. The as-prepared aerogel realizes a minimum reflection loss (RLmin) of -69.5 dB with a corresponding effective absorption bandwidth (EAB) of 8.6 GHz at 2.9 mm. Simultaneously, the computer simulation technique (CST) further proves that the multifunctional material can dissipate microwave energy in actual applications. More importantly, the special heterostructure of aerogel endows excellent resistance to acid, alkali, salt medium, allowing potential applications of the microwave absorbing materials under complex environmental conditions.

Abstract
In the complex engineering applications of electromagnetic (EM) wave-absorbing materials, it is insufficient for these materials to exhibit only efficient EM wave attenuation ability. EM wave-absorbing materials featuring numerous multifunctional properties are increasingly attractive for next-generation wireless communication and smart devices. Herein, we constructed a lightweight and robust multifunctional hybrid aerogel consisting of carbon nanotubes/aramid nanofibers/polyimide with low shrinkage and high porosity. The hybrid aerogels exhibit excellent EM wave attenuation, with an effective absorption bandwidth covering the entire X-band from 25 °C to 400 °C. The conductive loss capacity of the hybrid aerogel is enhanced under thermal drive, which results in an enhanced ability to attenuate EM waves, as evidenced by the fact that the best-fit thickness drops from 5.3 to 3.6 mm with increasing temperature. In addition, the hybrid aerogels are capable to efficiently absorb sound waves, with an average absorption coefficient as high as 0.86 at 1-6.3 kHz, and they exhibit superior thermal insulation properties, with a thermal conductivity as low as 41 ± 2 mW/mK. They are thus suitable for applications in the anti-icing and infrared stealth fields. The prepared multifunctional aerogels have considerable potential for EM protection, noise reduction, and thermal insulation in harsh thermal environments.

Abstract
It is highly desirable, but challenging to develop multifunctional electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorbing material for practical applications in some harsh environments. Herein, we successfully embedded highly dispersed Co/Co9S8 nanoparticles into a three-dimensional (3D) honeycomb porous carbon skeleton (the carbon skeleton is derived from longan shell-derived S, N co-doped porous carbon) as a multifunctional material with outstanding EMW absorption properties, hydrophobicity and corrosion resistance. Its superior versatility is attributed to synergistic effects of the S and N dopants, large specific surface area, abundant carbon defects, and 3D porous characteristics. Minimal reflection loss (RLmin) and efficient absorption bandwidth (EAB) of the optimized material as EMW absorbers can achieve -59.9 dB and 6.8 GHz at a thickness of 2.7 mm, respectively, which are superior to most of the reported carbon-based absorbents. Meanwhile, theoretical simulations of the radar scattering cross section (RCS) further confirm that this multifunctional material has outstanding EMW attenuation performance and actual application potential. In addition, the material possesses strong hydrophobicity (124°) and anti-corrosion properties, expanding the scope of potential applications of microwave absorbers. Therefore, this work provides an effective development strategy for the design of anti-corrosion, super-hydrophobic, and high-performance EMW absorbing materials.

Abstract
Exploring highly efficient electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding filler is urgently desired for next-generation wireless communication and integrated electronics. In this regard, a series of heterogeneous MoO2/N-doped carbon (MoO2/NC) nanorods with tunable conductivity have been successfully synthesized by regulating the pyrolysis temperature within 600, 700 and 800 °C. Profiting from the rational design of heterointerface and low-dimensional structure, the MoO2/NC powder achieves stronger EMI shielding capacity with the incremental temperature. It is found that the MoO2/NC-800 nanorods exhibit the optimal average EMI shielding effectiveness (SE) of 57.2 dB at a thickness of ∼0.3 mm in the X band. Meanwhile, the corresponding shielding mechanisms of MoO2/NC nanorods are also elaborately explained. More interestingly, the increase of sintering temperature makes an obvious effect on absorption loss but has little influence on reflection loss, demonstrating that adjusting the pyrolysis temperature is an effective strategy to strengthen the electromagnetic energy dissipation.

Abstract
The rational design of lightweight, broad-band, and high-performance microwave absorbers is urgently required for addressing electromagnetic pollution issue. Metal single atoms (M-SAs) absorbers receive considerable interest in the field of microwave absorption due to the unique electronic structures of M-SAs. However, the simultaneous engineering of the morphology and electronic structure of M-SAs based absorbers remains challenging. Herein, a template-assisted method is utilized to fabricate isolated Co-SAs on N-doped hollow carbon spheres (NHCS@Co-SAs) for high-performance microwave absorption. The combination of atomically dispersed Co sites and hollow supports endows NHCS@Co-SAs with excellent microwave absorption properties. Typically, at an ultralow filler content of 8 wt%, the minimum reflection loss and effective absorption bandwidth of the NHCS@Co-SAs are up to -44.96 dB and 5.25 GHz, respectively, while the absorbing thickness is only 2 mm. Theoretical calculations and experimental results indicate that the impedance matching characteristic and dielectric loss of the NHCSs can be tuned via the introduction of M-SAs, which are responsible for the excellent microwave absorption properties of NHCS@Co-SAs. This work provides an atomic-level insight into the relationship between the electronic states of absorbers and their microwave absorption properties for developing advanced microwave absorbers.

Abstract
Traditional microwave absorbing materials (MAMs) have exposed more and more problems in multi-spectrum detection and a harsh service environment, which hinder their further application. Bionic materials and structures have attracted more and more attention from researchers in the field of stealth materials due to their excellent properties, such as high strength and high conductivity, along with easy access to scale adjustability and structural design. By introducing the concept of bionics into their structural design and material design, we can obtain highly efficient stealth materials with multiple properties. In addition, the concept of multispectral stealth is furthered by comparing the difference in the principle and methods of achievement between radar stealth and infrared stealth. This paper fundamentally summarizes the research status of bionic structure design ideas in stealth materials, analyzing the structure-activity relationship between the structural size effect and electromagnetic characteristics from low order to high order. Then, the design ideas and universal strategies of typical bionic structures are summarised and an idea for the integrated design of radar absorption compatible with infrared stealth is put forward. This will provide profound insights for the application of biomimetic stealth materials and the future development of intelligent-response and dynamically adjustable materials.

Abstract
Facing the increasingly complex and deteriorated environment, people's thermal comfort and health requirements are expanding. Therefore, wearable materials with integrated functions have progressed rapidly due to the fair compatibility for various functions and precise regulation. In this work, a laminated MXene foam/cellulose@LDH composite membrane was fabricated via a facile process consisting of in situ growth, vacuum filtration, and foaming for asymmetrical personal thermal management and electromagnetic interference shielding. In detail, the Zn-Al LDH side shows a high solar reflectance of 0.89 and an infrared emissivity of 0.97 in the atmospheric window, demonstrating the superior radiative cooling property. In contrast, the outstanding radiative warming performance is revealed by the high solar absorption (0.72) and infrared reflectivity (0.55) of the MXene foam. As a result, prominent temperature differences were achieved during the validation test. Compared to the control group, an 18 °C reduction of the Zn-Al LDH side and a 9.6 °C increment of the MXene foam side were observed, bringing out the excellent optical properties and radiative thermal management performances. What is more, due to the outstanding electrical conductivity of MXene, a rapid and prominent temperature rise to 44.2 °C could be expected by applying a low voltage of 1 V to provide active joule warmth. In addition, hydrophobization and the associated stain resistance were explained by the high water contact angles of obtained membranes. The excellent electromagnetic interference shielding performance (43.9 dB) given by the introduction of MXene provides a prospective candidate to replace the common shielding materials. The results, in general, provide a promising strategy for meeting the updating requirements for comfortable living in a world full of potential thermal and health threats.

Abstract
Carbon-based microwave-absorbing materials with a low cost, simple preparation process, and excellent microwave absorption performance have important application value. In this paper, biomass-based carbon fibers were prepared using cotton fiber, hemp fiber, and bamboo fiber as carbon sources. Then, the precise loading of NiFe2O4 nanoparticles on biomass-based carbon fibers with the loading amount in a wide range was successfully realized through a sustainable and low-cost route. The effects of the composition and structure of NiFe2O4/biomass-based carbon fibers on electromagnetic parameters and electromagnetic absorption properties were systematically studied. The results show that the impedance matching is optimized, and the microwave absorption performance is improved after loading NiFe2O4 nanoparticles on biomass-based carbon fibers. In particular, when the weight percentage of NiFe2O4 nanoparticles in NiFe2O4/carbonized cotton fibers is 42.3%, the effective bandwidth of NiFe2O4/carbonized cotton fibers can reach 6.5 GHz with a minimum reflection loss of -45.3 dB. The enhancement of microwave absorption performance is mainly attributed to the appropriate electromagnetic parameters with the ε' ranging from 9.2 to 4.8, and the balance of impedance matching and electromagnetic loss. Given the simple synthesis method, low cost, high output, and excellent microwave absorption performance, the NiFe2O4/biomass-based carbon fibers have broad application prospects as an economic and broadband microwave absorbent.
