Abstract
Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) are often used as antibacterial agents. Here, graphene-silver nanoparticles (G-Ag) and graphene-silver nanoparticles poly-vinylpyrrolidone (G-AgPVPy) were prepared by chemical reduction and in-situ polymerization of vinylpyrrolidone (VPy). The prepared G-Ag and G-AgPVPy composites were characterized using various techniques. The size of the AgNPs on the graphene surface in the prepared G-Ag and G-AgPVPy composites was measured as ∼20 nm. The graphene sheets size in the G-Ag and G-AgPVPy composites were measured as 6.0-2.0 μm and 4.0-0.10 μm, respectively, which are much smaller than graphene sheets in graphite powder (GP) (10.0-3.0 μm). The physicochemical analysis confirmed the formation of G-Ag and G-AgPVPy composites and even the distribution of AgNPs and PVPy on the graphene sheets. The synthesized composites (G-AgPVPy, G-Ag) exhibited a broad-spectrum antibacterial potential against both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. The lowest minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) values were calculated as >40 μg/mL using G-Ag and GP, while G-AgPVPy showed as 10 μg/mL against Staphylococcus aureus. Among GP, G-Ag, and G-AgPVPy, G-AgPVPy disturbs the cell permeability, damages the cell walls, and causes cell death efficiently. Also, G-AgPVPy was delivered as a significant reusable antibacterial potential candidate. The MIC value (10 μg/mL) did not change up to six subsequent MIC analysis cycles.

Abstract
The present study focused on synthesizing ZnO nanoparticles (NPs) and CuO NPs using Elaeagnus indica leaf extract as reducing and stabilizing agents using Zn(O2CCH3)2 and Cu2SO4, respectively, for the first time. We have confirmed the formation of aggregated ZnO NPs and CuO NPs with phytochemicals by various spectral analyses and electron microscopy studies. The size of synthesized ZnO NPs and CuO NPs were in the range of 20-30 nm and 30-40 nm, respectively. The antimicrobial activity of ZnO NPs at 75 μg concentration is superior against Salmonella typhimurium, Klebsiella pneumonia, Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus epidermidis, and Aspergillus niger. While CuO nanoparticles with 75 μg concentration effectively inhibited S. typhimurium, B. subtilis, S. epidermidis, and A. niger. Phytochemicals and reactive oxygen species generated by the prepared NPs may account for the antimicrobial effects observed. The photodegradation of methylene blue by ZnO NPs and CuO NPs was 91% and 76%, respectively, for 6 h of sunlight exposure. CuO NPs and ZnO NPs have different intrinsic properties and phytochemical compositions; hence ZnO NPs photodegrade faster than CuO NPs even though ZnO has higher bandgap energy than CuO. Consequently, CuO and ZnO NPs produced from E. indica leaf extract might be utilized as antimicrobials and photocatalysts in the future.

Abstract
The cherry silverberry (Elaeagnus multiflora Thunb.) is a lesser-known plant species with high nutritional and therapeutic potential. Cherry silverberry contains numerous biologically active compounds. The cherry silverberry is a shrub growing up to 3 m. Its drupe-like fruit is ellipsoidal, up to 1 cm long, and set on stems. It is red in color, juicy, and sour, and its taste resembles that of red currants. According to the literature, cherry silverberry fruit contains carbohydrates, organic acids, and amino acids, as well as vitamin C, in addition to biominerals, polyphenols, flavonoids, carotenoids, chlorophylls, and tocopherols, which contribute to its high nutritional value. New biotypes of cherry silverberry cultivated in Poland can be used for the production of functional foods and direct consumption. In China, the cherry silverberry, known as goumi, has been used as a medicinal plant and a natural remedy for cough, diarrhea, itch, foul sores, and, even, cancer. This review article summarizes the scant research findings on the nutritional and therapeutic benefits of cherry silverberry.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the distribution of polyphenolic and isoprenoid compounds and organic acids in the fruit skin + pulp, seeds, and leaves of six new biotypes of Elaeagnus multiflora Thunb., as well as their in vitro biological potency. The polyphenols and isoprenoids were determined with UPLC-PDA-MS/MS (ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled to photodiode array detection and electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry) and RRLC-MS/MS (rapid resolution liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry) methods, the organic acid with HPLC-RID (high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to a Refractive Index Detector), and the antioxidant capacity using ABTS and FRAP assays. Enzymatic activity was established as the ability to inhibit α-amylase, α-glucosidase, and pancreatic lipase. Owing to such an effective technique, 88 compounds were recorded, with 17 polyphenolic compounds and 3 isoprenoids identified for the first time in the seeds and leaves of cherry silverberry. In total, 55 compounds were identified in the leaves, 36 in the seeds, and 31 in the fruit skin + pulp. The predominant polyphenol was polymeric procyanidin (66–95% of total polyphenolics), whereas the predominant isoprenoids were chlorophyll b and (all-E)-lycopene. The results of our work noted that there are significant differences in the profiles of several secondary metabolites between the analyzed parts of the plant, and depending on the need, the compounds can be used to develop different innovative food or cosmetic products.

Abstract
Abstract
Background
In an attempt to explore the scientific basis for the pharmacological benefits the antioxidant and antimicrobial activities of Ipomoea mauritiana whole plant methanol extract were assessed.
Methods
The total phenolic and flavonoid content were determined using standard method while antioxidant activity was determined by DPPH free radical scavenging activity method. The antimicrobial activity was evaluated by disk diffusion method and compared with standard kanamycin (30 μg/disc).
Results
The results revealed that I. mauritiana extract contains tannin, saponin, terpenoids, alkaloid and flavonoids. In DPPH, ascorbic acid and extract showed highest scavenging activity and it was 90.96% at concentration 800 μg/mL and I. mauritiana methanol extract showed 72.28% at a concentration of 800 μg/mL. The extract was able to reduce the stable free radical DPPH with an IC50 of 275.084 μg/mL while that of ascorbic acid was 230.09 μg/mL. Total phenolic constituent of the extract was 59.302 ± 3.289 mg/g as gallic acid equivalent. The flavonoid content of methanolic extract of I. mauritiana was 27.212 mg of QE/g. In case of antimicrobial screening, crude extracts of I. mauritiana showed notable antibacterial activity against tested microorganisms. The extract and standard showed the highest mean zone of inhibition ranging from 13 to 19 mm and 37 to 42 mm, respectively at a concentration of 400 μg /disc and against the gram positive bacteria (Bacillus cereus-19.25 mm) showed highest zone of inhibition.
Conclusions
The results indicate that I. mauritiana possesses considerable antioxidant and antimicrobial activity.

Abstract
The present study aimed to evaluate the antioxidant and antiproliferative potential of ursolic acid and thujone isolated from leaves of Elaeagnus indica and Memecylon edule and their inhibitory effect on topoisomerase II using molecular docking study. The isolated ursolic acid and thujone were examined for different types of free radicals scavenging activity, the antiproliferative potential on U-937 and HT-60 cell lines by adopting standard methods. Further, these compounds were docked with the active site of the ATPase region of topoisomerase II. The findings of the research revealed that ursolic acid harbor strong antioxidant and antiproliferative capacity with low IC50 values than the thujone in all tested methods. Moreover, ursolic acid shows significant inhibition effect on topoisomerase II with a considerable docking score (-8.0312) and GLIDE energy (-51.86 kca/mol). The present outcome concludes that ursolic acid possesses significant antioxidant and antiproliferative potential, which can be used in the development of novel antioxidant and antiproliferative agents in the future.
