Abstract
The syntheses of four new cadmium and zinc complexes with 1,1'-bis(phosphanyl)ferrocene ligands and their phosphine chalcogenide derivatives are reported. The complexes were characterized by elemental analyses and IR, 1H NMR, 31P NMR and electronic absorption spectroscopy. The crystal structures of dichlorido[1-diphenylphosphinoyl-1'-(di-tert-butylphosphanyl)ferrocene-κ2O,P]cadmium(II), [CdCl2{(C17H14OP)(C13H22P)Fe}] or CdCl2(κ2P,O-dppOdtbpf) (1), bis[μ-(tert-butyl)(1'-diphenylphosphinoylferrocen-1-yl)phosphinato-κ3O,O':O'']bis[chloridozinc(II)], [Zn2{(C9H13O2P)(C17H14OP)Fe}2Cl2] or [ZnOCl{κ2O,O'-Ph2POFcPO2(t-Bu)}]2 (2), 1,1'-bis(di-tert-butylthiophosphinoyl)ferrocene, [Fe(C13H22PS)2] or dtbpfS2 (3), and [1,1'-bis(dicyclohexylphosphanyl)ferrocene-κ2P,P'][chlorido/cyanido(0.25/1.75)]zinc(II), [Zn(CN)1.75Cl0.25{(C17H26P)2Fe}] or Zn(CN)2(κ2-dcpf) (4), were determined crystallographically. Compound 1 has tetrahedral geometry in which the CdII centre is coordinated by one dppOdtbpf ligand in a κ2-manner and by two Cl atoms, while compound 2 displays a centrosymmetric dimeric unit in which two oxide atoms bridge the two Zn atoms to generate an eight-membered ring. Compound 3 revealed a sandwich structure with both phosphane groups sulfurized. In compound 4, the ZnII atom adopts a tetrahedral geometry by coordinating to the 1,1'-bis(dicyclohexylphosphanyl)ferrocene ligand in a κ2-manner and to two cyanide ligands.

Abstract
Arylazoimidazole brings azoimine (-N=N-C=N-) chelating N(azo), N(imine) (abbreviated
- N, N/) centres and forms Ru(II) and Os(II) carbonyl complexes. These complexes act as catalysts
for the oxidation of alcohols to aldehydes/ketones by tertiary butyl hydro peroxide (ButOOH), hydrogen
peroxide (H2O2) and N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide (NMO) as oxygen sources. Different substituted
arylazoimidazoles such as 1-alkyl-2-(arylazo)imidazoles (RaaiR/), 1-alkyl-2-(naphthyl-α/β-
azo)imidazoles (α/β-NaiR) and (1-alkyl-2-{(o-thioalkyl)phenylazo}imidazole, SRaaiNR/) are used to
prepare Ru/Os-CO complexes. Ancillary ligands like hydride (H-), chloride (Cl-), triphenylphosphine
(PPh3) are used to monitor the catalytic efficiency of the complexes. Aromatic and aliphatic alcohols
like benzyl alcohol, 2-butanol, cyclopentanol, cyclohexanol, 1-phenylethanol, cinnamyl alcohol, diphenylmethanol,
are oxidized to the corresponding benzaldehyde, 2-butanone, cyclopentanone, cyclohexanone,
phenylacetone, cinamaldehyde, cyclopentanone, benzophenone, respectively. Different
physicochemical analyses (FT-IR, UV-Vis, Mass, NMR) suggest that the complexes react with an
oxidant to yield high valent ruthenium/osmium-oxo species (RuIV=O; OsIV=O), which is capable of
transferring the oxygen atom to alcohols. GC analysis accounts that percentage conversion order is as
follows : Cinnamyl alcohol > Cyclohexanol ~ 1-Phenylethanol > Diphenylmethanol > Cyclopentanol
> 2-Butanol > Benzyl alcohol. The oxidation efficiency of the oxidant follows the order : NMO >
ButOOH > H2O2. RuII complexes are more potent catalysts than OsII complexes. Out of three series
of RuII complexes, [RuCl(CO)(SMeaaiNEt)]ClO4 and [RuCl(CO)(SEtaaiNMe)]ClO4 showed highest
catalytic efficiency amongst 32 catalysts.

Abstract
This review summarizes significant contributions reported on aminophosphine oxides (AmPOs), specifically those containing at least one amino group present as amino substituents on α- and β-carbons including direct P-N bond containing molecules. AmPOs have additional 'N' site(s), including highly basic 'P=O' groups, and these features make favor smooth and unexpected behavior. The most striking manifestations of flexibility of AmPOs are that they are exciting ligand systems for the coordination chemistry of actinides, and their involvement in catalytic organic reactions including enantioselective opening of meso-epoxides, addition of silyl enol ethers, allylation with allyltributylstannane, etc. The diverse properties of the AmPOs and their metal complexes demonstrate both the scope and complexity of these systems, depending on the basicity of phosphoryl group, and nature of the substituents on the pentavalent tetracoordinate phosphorus atom and metal. Two components key to understanding the challenges of actinide separations are detailed here, namely, previously described separation methods, and recent investigations into the fundamental coordination chemistry of actinides. Both are aimed at probing the critical features necessary for improved selectivity of separations. This review leads to the conclusion that, although many AmPOs have already been discovered and developed over the past century, many opportunities nevertheless exist for further developments towards new extraction processes and new catalytic materials by fine tuning the electronic and steric properties of substituents on the central phosphorus atom.

Abstract
The impact of the structural attributes of chiral PC- and PCP-palladium catalysts was investigated in the asymmetric hydrophosphination of various heterocycle-functionalized enone substrates. Due to the architecture of the catalysts, they are confronted with potential catalyst deactivation arising from the coordination of the electron-rich heteroatoms (P, O, N and S) to the metal center. A systematic variation of the location and identity of the heteroatoms demonstrated the impact of structural modifications on the substrates, which have a significant influence on both yields (16-99%) and enantioselectivities (0-99%). A detailed discussion on the distinct catalytic mechanisms (intra- vs. inter-molecular addition) provides important information to explain the results obtained.

Abstract
The transition‐metal complexes of heterotopic phosphanylthiolato ligands are useful in various reactions which depend on the stereochemistry of the complexes. Bis‐chelate complex [Pt(SCH2CH2PPh2‐κ2P,S)2] (1) was obtained in good yields by direct base‐free substitution reaction of the corresponding phosphanylthiol (HSCH2CH2PPh2) with K2PtCl4 or by oxidative addition of the same phosphanylthiol to Pt(PPh3)4. In agreement with the antisymbiosis rule, complex 1 shows a cis‐P,P arrangement in solid state crystallizing in the monoclinic system (C2/c). Density functional theory (DFT) calculations on 1 reveal the right characteristics for the preferred cis‐P,P arrangement, rationalizing its formation. Direct base‐free reaction of [PtCl2(1,5‐cyclooctadiene)] with one equivalent of the same phosphanylthiol produce the trinuclear complex [PtCl(μ‐SCH2CH2PPh2‐κ2P,S)]3 (2) instead of the binuclear structure common in palladium and nickel derivatives. Crystals of 2 are triclinic (P1‾
) showing a sulfur‐bridging edge‐sharing cyclic trinuclear complex with square‐planar coordination geometry around the platinum atoms and a Pt3S3 cycle in skew‐boat conformation. This preference for the trinuclear structure was rationalized mechanistically and through conceptual DFT.

Abstract
Ligand 2-diphenylphosphinothiophenol (Hsarp) reacted with Pt(PPh3)4 to yield trans-[PtH(sarp)(PPh3)], which undergoes fast exchange with free PPh3 on the NMR time scale and very slowly and reversibly formed some cis-[PtH(sarp)(PPh3)] over time in solution (11%, 24 h). Reaction of trans-[PtH(sarp)(PPh3)] with Hsarp in boiling toluene gave cis- and trans-[Pt(sarp)2]; the cis isomer being more stable. These complexes were characterized by (1)H and (31)P NMR and also analyzed by XRD in the case of trans-[PtH(sarp)(PPh3)], trans-[Pt(sarp)2], and cis-[Pt(sarp)2]. trans-[PtH(sarp)(PPh3)] was evaluated as a preformed, tin-free hydroformylation catalyst on styrene and found active at 100 °C, at pressures over 75 bar, yielding phenylpropanal (regioselectivities up to 83% in 2-phenylpropanal), with total conversions to aldehydes up to 100% at styrene/platinum ratios from 400/1 to 1000/1 and minimal hydrogenation products.

Abstract
A (13)C{(1)H} NMR based investigation was conducted to examine the electronic properties of C(aryl)-M bonds and their trans influence in P-C(aryl)-P pincer complexes. A series of structurally related platinum pincer complexes were rationally designed and their corresponding (13)C-(195)Pt coupling constants were systematically examined. By methodical substitution of the ligand trans to the organometallic C(aryl)-Pt bond, this study revealed the significant influence of the ligands on the nature of the C(aryl)-M bonds. The single crystal X-ray analysis of the complexes and computational studies further confirmed the observations that the C-M bond exhibits significant π-character.

Abstract
In this work, the performances of 19 density functional theory (DFT) methods are calibrated comparatively on Ru- and Rh-promoted σ-bond (C-H, O-H, and H-H) activations. DFT calibration reference is generated from explicitly correlated coupled cluster CCSD(T)-F12 calculations, and the 4s4p core-valence correlation effect of the two 4d platinum group transition metals is also included. Generally, the errors of DFT methods for calculating energetics of Ru-/Rh-mediated reactions appear to correlate more with the magnitude of energetics itself than other factors such as metal identity. For activation energy calculations, the best performing functionals for both Ru and Rh systems are MN12SX < CAM-B3LYP < M06-L < MN12L < M06 < ωB97X < B3LYP < LC-ωPBE (in the order of increasing mean unsigned deviations, MUDs, of less than 2 kcal/mol). For reaction energy calculations, best functionals with MUDs less than 2 kcal/mol are PBE0 < CAM-B3LYP ≈ N12SX. The effect of the DFT empirical dispersion correction on the performance of the DFT methods is beneficial for most density functionals tested in this work, reducing their MUDs to different extents. After including empirical dispersion correction, ωB97XD, B3LYP-D3, and CAM-B3LYP-D3 (PBE0-D3, B3LYP-D3, and ωB97XD) are the three best performing DFs for activation energy (reaction energy) calculations, from which B3LYP-D3 and ωB97XD can notably be recommended uniformly for both the reaction energy and reaction barrier calculations. The good performance of B3LYP-D3 in quantitative description of the energetic trends further adds value to B3LYP-D3 and singles this functional out as a reasonable choice in the Ru/Rh-promoted σ-bond activation processes.
