Abstract
Organophosphate pesticides (OPPs) are widely prevalent in the environment primarily due to their low cost and extensive use in agricultural lands. However, it is estimated that only about 5% of these applied pesticides reach their intended target organisms. The remaining 95% residue linger in the environment as contaminants, posing significant ecological and health risks. This underscores the need for materials capable of effectively removing, recovering, and recycling these contaminants through adsorption processes. In this research, adsorbent materials composed of electro-spun carbon nanofibers (ECNFs) derived from polyacrylonitrile was developed. The materials were characterized through several techniques, including scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) analysis, and contact angle measurements. SEM analysis revealed details of the structural properties and inter-fiber spacing variations of the carbon nanofibers. The results revealed that ECNFs possess remarkable uniformity, active surface areas, and high efficiency for adsorption processes. The adsorption studies were conducted using batch experiments with ethion pesticide in aqueous solution. High-Performance Liquid Chromatography-Diode Array Detector (HPLC-DAD) was utilized to quantify the concentrations of the OPP. Various parameters, including adsorbent dosage, pH, contact time, and initial ethion concentration, were investigated to understand their impact on the adsorption process. The adsorption isotherm was best described by the Freundlich model, while the kinetics of adsorption followed a non-integer-order kinetics model. The adsorption capacity of the ECNFs for OPP removal highlights a significant advancement in materials designed for environmental remediation applications. This study demonstrates the potential of ECNFs to serve as effective adsorbents, contributing to the mitigation of pesticide contamination in agricultural environments.

Abstract
This study presents a dispersive micro-solid phase extraction (D-μ-SPE) approach for extracting and determining of two organophosphorus pesticides (OPPs), including diazinon and chlorpyrifos as model analytes in various samples. For this purpose, we synthesized, characterized, and utilized magnetic multi-walled carbon nanotubes coated with poly 8-hydroxyquinoline (MWCNTs/Fe3O4@PHQ) as a novel sorbent. The impact of various parameters, including sorbent type, sample pH, sample volume, sorbent amount, desorption solvent (type and volume), extraction time, and ionic strength on the extraction efficiency was investigated and optimized. Following the extraction, the desorbed pesticides in acetone were analyzed using gas chromatography with an FID detector. Under the optimized experimental conditions, the proposed method showed excellent linearity in the range of 3-1000 µg/L, low detection limit (0.9-1.5 µg/L), good relative recoveries (86-101.5 %), and high precision (RSD < 6.5 %). Finally, the applicability of this method was evaluated by analyzing the target OPPs in a variety of real samples, and obtained satisfactory results.

Abstract
Fruits are vital parts of the human diet because they include necessary nutrients that the body needs. Pesticide use has increased dramatically in recent years to combat fruit pests across the world. Pesticide usage during production, on the other hand, frequently results in undesirable residues in fruits after harvest. Consumers are concerned about pesticide residues since most of the fruits are directly consumed and even recommended for the patients as dietary supplements. As a result of this worry, pesticide residues in fruits are being randomly monitored to re-assess the food safety situation and make informed legislative decisions. To assess the degree of pesticide residues in fruits, a simple and quick analytical procedure is usually required. As a result, pesticide residue detection (using various analytical techniques: GC, LC and Biosensors) becomes critical, and regulatory directives are formed to regulate their amounts via the Maximum Residue Limit (MRL). Over the previous two decades, a variety of extraction techniques and analytical methodologies for xenobiotic's efficient extraction, identification, confirmation and quantification have been developed, ranging from traditional to advanced. The goal of this review is to give readers an overview of the evolution of numerous extraction and detection methods for pesticide residue analysis in fruits. The objective is to assist analysts in better understanding how the ever-changing regulatory landscape might drive the need for new analytical methodologies to be developed in order to comply with current standards and safeguard consumers.

Abstract
This study aimed to introduce a dispersive solid phase extraction method based on MXene nanoparticles as a novel sorbent for the simultaneous extraction and determination of twelve pesticides from fresh fruit juices. In the following, a high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry was used for their determination in the samples. In this method, two-dimensional nanomaterials of Ti2AlC were exfoliated in an acidic solution and then they were added into the sample solution. To enhance the sample solution and sorbent contact area, the mixture was vortexed for a few minutes. Then the adsorbed analytes onto the sorbent were eluted using acetone and then analyzed. Under optimal conditions, the calibration curves of the method were linear within the range of 3.0-1000 µg L-1. The limits of detection, intra- and inter-day relative standard deviations, and extraction recoveries were in the ranges of 0.08-1.0 µg L-1, 2.5-4.2%, 2.5-5.5%, and 69-75%, respectively. Performing the method verified the presence of some of the analytes in several samples. This method can help to monitor pesticides in juice samples as well as to improve our understanding the safety of foods.

Abstract
The current study discussed the use of silicone surfactant-based deep eutectic solvent as a surface modifier for magnetic iron particles (Fe3O4) to produce a novel adsorbent and its application for the extraction of organophosphorus pesticides (OPPs) in vegetable samples. A deep eutectic solvent (DES) was prepared using low toxic and inexpensive substances such as silicone surfactant (SS) and dodecanoic acid (DoAc). This new eco-friendly SS:DoAc based DES was explored as a substitution to traditional organic reagents for surface modification of Fe3O4 to increase the adsorption capacity and to reduce the matrix interferences, hazardous waste generation and environmental pollution. The newly synthesized SS:DoAc@Fe3O4 adsorbent was successfully characterized and applied in magnetic solid phase extraction (MSPE). Under optimized conditions, the proposed approach exhibited excellent linearity ranging from 0.1 to 200 µg/kg (R2 ≥ 0.9970), low detection limit (0.03-0.1 µg/kg) and acceptable relative recovery (80-119 %) for the studied OPPs.

Abstract
A vortex assisted surfactant enhanced emulsification liquid-liquid microextraction based on non-ionic silicone surfactant was successfully developed for the determination of organophosphorus pesticides in food samples coupled to gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. A new type of non-ionic silicone surfactant composed of polysiloxane chains was employed as a green emulsifier to facilitate the emulsification of extraction solvent into the sample matrix, thereby intensifying the mass transfer of target analytes into the organic phase. The variables that affect the extraction were systematically optimized: 80 μL of hexane and 0.5% (v/v) of silicone surfactant were used as extraction solvent and surfactant respectively, the solution was mixed well under vortex agitation for 1 min with the addition of 4% (w/v) sodium sulfate. Under optimum conditions, the linearity of the method was obtained in the range of 0.1 - 200 μg/kg with good coefficient of determination varying from 0.9986 to 0.9996. The LOD and LOQ were in between 0.008 - 0.1 μg/kg and 0.02 - 0.3 μg/kg, respectively. Application of the proposed method to real samples gave satisfactory recovery values (80 - 118%) for the target analytes. The suggested approach has also proven to be convenient, expeditious and environmentally benign. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.

Abstract
A novel organic/inorganic biosorbent hydrogel nanocomposite based on Arabic Gum-grafted-polyamidoxime and CuFe2O4 magnetic nanoparticles (AG-g-PAO/CuFe2O4) was prepared in three steps. The prepared hydrogel nanocomposite was well characterized using Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), energy-dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), CHN, zeta potential, and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) analyses. The adsorption efficiency of the AG-g-PAO/CuFe2O4 for removing an organophosphorus pesticide (OPP) (chlorpyrifos) from aqueous solutions was studied. Effect of different experimental conditions such as the pH of the solution, adsorbent dosage, contact time, initial concentration on adsorption efficiency was evaluated. The experimental adsorption data described well by the Langmuir isotherm model and the maximum adsorption capacity (Qmax) of the prepared biosorbent for chlorpyrifos was found 769.23 mg/g. The adsorption kinetic data were well fitted by the pseudo-second-order model. It was suggested that the chlorpyrifos was adsorbed onto AG-g-PAO/CuFe2O4 hydrogel biosorbent mainly through electrostatic interaction and hydrogen bonding. The result of adsorption-desorption experiments revealed that the AG-g-PAO/CuFe2O4 can be excellently regenerated and reused after three sequential runs without a considerable decline in its adsorption performance.

However, due to the ever-increasing population and rapid urbanization, pesticide use has surged in recent years. These compounds are exceedingly poisonous to humans, and despite the fact that specific legislation prohibits their use, the frequency of toxic and/or fatal incidents, as well as current statistics, suggest that they are currently accessible. As a result, determining the exposure to these substances as well as their detection (and that of their metabolites) in different types of exposed samples has become a hot issue in terms of quality and safety concerns. However, developing tools for the evaluation of these substances is a critical challenge for laboratories. Various chromatographic-based methods reported in the period of 2015-2020 have been developed, which are summarized and critically reviewed in this article, including the extraction of the target OPPs from different kinds of matrices. A comparison among the extraction and analysis techniques has been made in the current review article.

Abstract
The novel core-shell structural zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 @molecularly imprinted polymers were successfully synthesized by surface imprinting technique and used as adsorbents for solid-phase extraction of organophosphorus pesticides. The obtained hybrid composites were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and Fourier-transform infrared, and their adsorbing and recognition performance were evaluated by binding experiments. The results showed that zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 @molecularly imprinted polymers presented a typically core-shell structure with molecularly imprinted shell (about 50 nm) homogeneously polymerized on the surface of zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 core, and exhibited specific recognition towards organophosphorus pesticides with fast adsorption capacity. The adsorption and desorption conditions including sample loading solvent, sample pH, washing and elution solvent were optimized. Under optimum conditions, the solid-phase extraction based on zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 @molecularly imprinted polymers combined with high liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method for determining organophosphorus pesticides was established and exhibited good linearity (R2 ≥ 0.9927) in the range of 1-200 µg/L. With spiked at three different concentration levels in agricultural products (cauliflower, radish, pear, muskmelon), the recoveries ranged from 82.5% to 123.0% with relative standard deviations lower than 8.24%. The developed method was sensitive, convenient and efficient. More importantly, this study could provide a promising strategy for designing new adsorbents with extremely fast mass transfer rate for other potential trace contaminants.

Abstract
A newly synthesized free fatty acids from waste palm oil functionalized magnetic nanoparticles immobilized on the surface of graphene oxide (FFA@MNP-GO) was successfully synthesized and characterized in this research. The combinations of long alkyl chain of free fatty acid with graphene oxide that consists of large delocalized 77-electron systems and abundant of hydrophilic groups with hydroxyl, epoxide and carboxylic groups offer the determination of simultaneous wide range of polarities of organic pollutants in real matrices through hydrogen bonding, hydrophobic and 77-77 interactions. The fabricated adsorbent was successfully applied as a magnetic solid phase extraction (MSPE) adsorbent for the simultaneous separation of selected phthalate esters (PAEs) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in apple and cabbage extracts prior to their high performance liquid chromatography with diode-array detector (HPLC-DAD) determination. Factors affecting the extraction efficiency such as amount of adsorbent, desorption solvent, volume of desorption solvent, extraction time, desorption time, pH and sample volume were investigated and optimized. The results revealed that under optimal conditions, the detection limit of selected PAEs and PAHs were in the range of 0.56-0.97 ng mL-1 and 0.02-0.93 ng mL-1, respectively. The spiked recoveries of real apple and cabbage extracts for PAEs and PAHs were in the range of 81.5-117.6% with good relative standard deviation (RSD) (n = 5) less than 10% and 86.7-118.2% with acceptable RSDs (n = 5) ranging from 1.5 to 11.0%, respectively. This study reported for the first time the use of MSPE procedure for simultaneous determination of chosen PAHs and PAEs in real samples including apple and cabbage extracts by using new adsorbent, FFA@MNP-GO.

Abstract
In this study, a sensitive analytical method was developed to determine some pesticides (cyprodinil, trifloxystrobin, prometryn, propachlor, fenitrothion, chlorpyrifos, profenofos, and phosalone) in molasses samples. Pesticides were extracted from samples by dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction method combined with sugaring-out homogeneous liquid-liquid extraction and determined by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis. In this method, pesticides in molasses samples were first extracted using a water-miscible solvent (acetonitrile) in the sugaring-out homogeneous liquid-liquid extraction stage. The sugar in the ratio of 84-88% naturally contained in the molasses sample enabled phase separation in the acetonitrile-water homogeneous mixture. Then acetonitrile phase containing pesticides was used as dispersing solvent in the second step of the process. Under the specified optimum conditions, the limit of detection was calculated between 0.8-6.1 ng/g and the limit of quantification was in the range of 2.5-20 ng/g. The relative standard deviation values of molasses samples containing 150 ng/g of each analyte were found to be lower than 4.9% intra-day and 5.6% for inter-day. This validated method has been successfully applied to different types of molasses.

Abstract
Herein, a novel core-shell-shell magnetic nanosphere denoted as Fe3O4@ZIF-8@polymer was fabricated by sequential in situ self-assembly and precipitation polymerization for effective magnetic solid-phase extraction of nine organophosphorus pesticides (OPPs) from river water, pear, and cabbage samples. The integrated Fe3O4@ZIF-8@polymer featured convenient magnetic separation property and excellent multi-target binding ability. More importantly, the functional polymer coating greatly improved the extraction performance of Fe3O4@ZIF-8 for OPPs, thus facilitating the simultaneous determination of trace OPP residues in real samples. The developed MPSE-LC-MS/MS method exhibited good linearity (R2 ≥ 0.9991) over the concentration range of 0.2-200 µg L-1, low limits of detection of 0.0002-0.005 μg L-1 for river water and 0.006-0.185 μg kg-1 for pear and cabbage, satisfactory precision with relative standard deviations ≤ 9.7% and accuracy with recoveries of 69.5-94.3%. These results highlight that the combination of polymers with MOFs has great potential to fabricate excellent adsorbents for high-throughput analysis of various contaminants in complex matrices.

Abstract
In this study, we synthesized, characterized the magnetic graphene oxide coated with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA@MGO), and used it as an adsorbent for the magnetic solid-phase extraction (MSPE) of organophosphorus pesticides (OPPs) residue in the apple juice and environmental water samples followed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis. Effective factors on the extraction efficiency, including the adsorbent dosage, desorption conditions, sample pH, extraction and desorption time, and ionic strength were optimized. The dynamic range of the MSPE-GC-MS method was obtained in the concentration range of 0.07-500 ng mL-1 OPPs with the limits of detection (LODs) in the range of 20-80 pg mL-1. Also, the intra- and inter-day precisions were determined to be in the range of 3.3-5.7% and 5.9-8.2%. The relative recoveries of pesticides for spiked real water samples and apple juice were in the range of 94.5 and 107.1%, with relative standard deviations between 2.6 and 6.5%. These results propose that the PVA@MGO is appropriate for simultaneous determination and high throughput analysis of OPPs residues.

Abstract
This paper illustrates the development of a miniaturized and precise analytical tool for biomonitoring of honey bee exposure to insecticides. This is the first work describing an analytical method for determination of very low concentrations of a wide range of insecticides in maize guttation fluid. Seed treatment with systemic insecticides or their foliar application causes the accumulation of compounds in the guttation liquid, which consists of excess water and compounds removed by plants and is a source of water for bees. A micro-QuEChERS protocol using 1 g of sample was used for analysis of over 140 insecticides belonging to 30 different chemical classes by LC-ESI-MS/MS. The determination of insecticides in guttation fluid is a difficult analytical task due to 1) the complexity of the sample matrix, 2) small amounts of test samples and 3) trace levels of analytes (often equal sublethal dose of insecticide for bees). An efficient sample treatment is proposed, involving 1 g of sample, extraction with 1% formic acid in acetonitrile, frozen, ultrasound-assisted, centrifugation and dispersive solid phase extraction with nano graphene oxide. Other tested sorbents: Fe3O4MNPs and two mixtures PSA/C18/GCB and Z-Sep did not give satisfactory parameters during sample purification. The graphene oxide proved to be the best, ensuring negligible matrix effects and analyte recoveries between 70% and 120% with relative standard deviations <20% for most of the compounds studied. The proposed method enables assessment of risk to honey bees resulting from exposure to guttation fluids containing toxic insecticides at very low concentrations.

Abstract
In this paper, magnetic ZIF-67 composites were prepared by an in situ method and utilized in the magnetic solid-phase extraction of phthalate esters. The obtained magnetic ZIF-67 composites were characterized in detail, and the adsorption performance was evaluated. The results showed that ZIF-67 crystals in the composites had a chamfered cubic shape with about 2.0 μm diameter and Fe3O4 was attached on the surface of ZIF-67. The parameters affecting magnetic solid-phase extraction efficiency were optimized including the adsorption and desorption conditions. Under the optimum conditions, magnetic solid-phase extraction coupled with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry for analyzing seven phthalate esters in environmental water samples was established. All the analytes exhibited good linearity (1-200 ng mL-1) with correlation coefficients higher than 0.9950. The relative standard deviations were between 4.3% and 8.9%. The developed method showed high sensitivity and had good potential for analyzing trace phthalate esters in water samples.

Abstract
In this work, a magnetic nanocomposite composed of graphene oxide (GO), silica-coated cobalt ferrite (CoFe2O4@SiO2) nanoparticles and amino-functionalized metal-organic framework (MIL 101 (Cr)-NH2) was fabricated and employed for ultrasonic-assisted magnetic solid phase extraction (UA-MSPE) of neonicotinoid insecticides. Various techniques such as Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectrometry, vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) and field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM) measurements were executed to investigate features and morphology of the adsorbent. The magnetic graphene oxide functionalized MIL-101 (Cr)-NH2 (MGO/MIL) combines the advantages of magnetic GO and MIL 101(Cr)-NH2 such as excellent thermal and chemical stability, high surface area, accessible coordinative unsaturated sites, sufficient stability in aqueous solutions and rapid and easy separation from the solution. Some of the important extraction factors such as type and volume of desorption solvent, desorption time, salt concentration, adsorbent amount, pH and extraction time were investigated in detail to achieve high MSPE recovery. In optimal condition, the limits of detection (LODs) for Acetamiprid and Imidacloprid were achieved 0.022 and 0.019 ng mL-1, respectively. Good determination coefficients (R2 more than 0.9990) with satisfactory linearity in the range of 0.064-3500 ng mL-1 were found for this method. The relative standard deviations for intra- and inter-day analyses were in the range of 3.93-4.56% and 7.80-8.50%, respectively. The method was successfully used for analyzing of neonicotinoid insecticides in water and fruit samples and acceptable recoveries from 82.13% to 102.27% were obtained. The results indicated that the nanocomposite is feasible for the adsorption of trace amounts of the target analytes from the fruit and water samples.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Pesticides are extensively used worldwide to control plant pathogens and prevent agricultural product damage. However, they can pollute the environment and endanger human health. So far, a variety of sample preparation methods have been developed for the analysis of pesticide residues. RESULTS A hyphenated solid-liquid microextraction method based on a new adsorbent of magnetic graphene oxide functionalized by (3-glycidyloxypropyl)trimethoxysilane and a deep eutectic solvent (choline chloride/4-chlorophenol (1:2)) was developed for extraction/preconcentration of trace levels of pesticides. The sorbent was characterized using scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and vibrating sample magnetometry. In-syringe magnetic dispersive solid-phase extraction in tandem with dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction followed by gas chromatography was applied for the analysis of the selected pesticides. The main parameters governing sample preparation efficiency, including adsorbent dosage, desorption conditions, pH, extraction time, deep eutectic solvent volume, and salt concentration, were investigated. The linear ranges were 0.024-500 μg L-1 with 0.9971-0.9999 linearity factor (R2 ). The limits of detection and quantification were 0.006-0.038 and 0.024-0.126 μg L-1 , respectively. The relative standard deviations were 0.5-4.2% for intra-day analysis and 2.7-4.6% for inter-day analysis. Enrichment factors were in the range 210-540. CONCLUSIONS The method was successfully applied for the determination of malathion, heptachlor epoxide, endrin, dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane, azinphos ethyl, cypermethrin, and deltamethrin in fruit juice samples (apple, pineapple, cherry, peach, and red and green grape juices) and the recoveries were within the range 71-115%. © 2020 Society of Chemical Industry.

Abstract
This study describes the synthesis and application of a magnetic amino-functionalized hollow silica-titania microsphere as a new sorbent for magnetic dispersive micro-solid phase extraction of selected pesticides in coffee bean samples. The sorbent was fully characterized by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy, transition electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and vibrating sample magnetometry techniques. Significant extraction parameters affecting the proposed method, such as extraction time, sorbent amount, sample solution pH, salt amount, and desorption conditions (desorption solvent and time) were investigated and optimized. All the figures of merits were validated in coffee bean samples under the matrix-matched calibration method. Linear dynamic ranges were 5-250 µg/kg with the determination coefficients (R2 ) > 0.9980. The limits of detection for the pesticides of chlorpyrifos, malathion, hexaconazole, and atrazine were 1.42, 1.43, 1.35, and 1.33 µg/kg, respectively. Finally, the method was successfully applied for the determination of the pesticides in green and roasted coffee bean samples, and the obtained recoveries were in the range of 74-113% for spiked samples. The prepared sorbent could be used for the magnetic dispersive micro-solid phase extraction of pesticides in the plant-derived food matrix.

Abstract
Graphene oxide (GO) is a chemical compound with a form similar to graphene that consists of one-atom-thick two-dimensional layers of sp2-bonded carbon. Graphene oxide exhibits high hydrophilicity and dispersibility. Thus, it is difficult to be separated from aqueous solutions. Therefore, functionalization with magnetic nanoparticles is performed in order to prepare a magnetic GO nanocomposite that combines the sufficient adsorption capacity of graphene oxide and the convenience of magnetic separation. Moreover, the magnetic material can be further functionalized with different groups to prevent aggregation and extends its potential application. Until today, a plethora of magnetic GO hybrid materials have been synthesized and successfully employed for the magnetic solid-phase extraction of organic compounds from environmental, agricultural, biological, and food samples. The developed GO nanocomposites exhibit satisfactory stability in aqueous solutions, as well as sufficient surface area. Thus, they are considered as an alternative to conventional sorbents by enriching the analytical toolbox for the analysis of trace organic compounds.

Abstract
In the present work, a high-efficiency and solvent minimized microextraction technique, fabric phase sorptive extraction followed by gas chromatography and mass spectrometry analysis is proposed for the rapid determination of four organophosphorus pesticides (terbufos, malathion, chlorpyrifos, and triazofos) in vegetable samples including beans, tomato, brinjal, and cabbage. Fabric phase sorptive extraction combines the beneficial features of sol-gel derived microextraction sorbents with the rich surface chemistry of cellulose fabric substrate, which collectively form a highly efficient microextraction system. Fabric phase sorptive extraction membrane, when immersed directly into the sample matrix, may extract target analytes even when high percentage of matrix interferents are present. The technique also greatly simplifies sample preparation workflow. Most important fabric phase sorptive extraction parameters were investigated and optimized. The developed method displayed good linearity over the concentration range 0.5-500 ng/g. Under optimum experimental conditions, the limits of detection were found in the range of 0.033 to 0.136 ng/g. The relative standard deviations for the extraction of organophosphorus pesticides were < 5%. Subsequently, the new method was applied to beans, tomato, brinjal, and cabbage samples. The results from the real sample analysis indicate that the method is green, rapid, and economically feasible for the determination of organophosphorus pesticides in vegetable samples.

Abstract
This article demonstrates the first application of a copper-based porous coordination polymer (BTCA-P-Cu-CP) as a carbon paste electrode (CPE) modifier for the detection of malathion. The electrochemical behavior of BTCA-P-Cu-CP/CPE was explored using cyclic voltammetry (CV) while chrono-amperometry methods were applied for the analytical evaluation of the sensor performance. Under optimized conditions, the developed sensor exhibited high reproducibility, stability, and wide dynamic range (0.6-24 nM) with the limits of detection and sensitivity equal to 0.17 nM and 5.7 µAnMcm-1, respectively, based on inhibition signal measurement. Furthermore, the presence of common coexisting interfering species showed a minor change in signals (<4.4%). The developed sensor has been applied in the determination of malathion in spiked vegetable extracts. It exhibited promising results in term of fast and sensitive determination of malathion in real samples at trace level with recoveries of 91.0 to 104.4%. (RSDs < 5%, n = 3). A comparison of the two studied techniques showed that the HPLC technique is unable to detect malathion when the concentration is lower than 1.8 µM while 0.006 µM is detected with appropriate RSDs 0.2-5.2% (n = 3) by amperometric method. Due to the high sensitivity and selectivity, this new electrochemical sensor will be useful for monitoring trace malathion in real samples.

Abstract
Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) is a widely used standard method for sensitive detection of analytes of environmental, clinical, or biotechnological interest. However, ELISA has clear drawbacks related to the use of relatively unstable antibodies and enzyme conjugates and the need for several steps such as washing of nonbound conjugates and addition of dye reagents. Herein, we introduce a new completely abiotic assay where antibodies and enzymes are replaced with fluorescent molecularly imprinted polymer nanoparticles (nanoMIPs) and target-conjugated magnetic nanoparticles, which acted as both reporter probes and binding agents. The components of the molecularly imprinted polymer nanoparticle assay (MINA) are assembled in microtiter plates fitted with magnetic inserts. We have compared the performance of a new magnetic assay with molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP)-based ELISA for the detection of methyl parathion (MP). Both assays have shown high sensitivity toward allowing detection of MP at picomolar concentrations without any cross-reactivity against chlorpyriphos and fenthion. The fully abiotic assays were also proven to detect analyte in real samples such as tap water and milk. Unlike ELISA-based systems, the novel assay required no washing steps or addition of enzyme substrates, making it more user-friendly and suitable for high throughput screening.

Abstract
In this study, a new magnetic adsorbent based on magnetite-sporopollenin/graphene oxide (Fe3O4-SP/GO) was successfully developed. The adsorbent was applied for magnetic solid phase extraction (MSPE) of three selected polar organophosphorus pesticides (OPPs), namely, dimethoate, phenthoate, and phosphamidon, prior to gas chromatography analysis with electron capture detection (GC-μECD). The Fe3O4-SP/GO adsorbent combines the advantages of superior adsorption capability of the modified sporopollenin (SP) with graphene oxide (GO) and magnetite (Fe3O4) for easy isolation from sample solution. Several MSPE parameters were optimized. Under optimized conditions, excellent linearity (R2 ≥ 0.9994) was achieved using matrix match calibration in the range of 0.1 to 500 ng mL-1. The limit of detection (LOD) method (S/N = 3) was from 0.02 to 0.05 ng mL-1. The developed Fe3O4-SP/GO MSPE method was successfully applied for the determination of these three polar OPPs in cucumber, long beans, bell pepper, and tomato samples. Good recoveries (81.0-120.0%) and good relative standard deviation (RSD) (1.4-7.8%, n = 3) were obtained for the spiked OPPs (1 ng mL-1) from real samples. This study is beneficial for adsorptive removal of toxic pesticide compounds from vegetable samples.

Abstract
Magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) with different sizes and characteristics were synthesized to be used as a QuEChERS sorbents for the determination of seven organophosphorus pesticides (OPPs) in strawberries by gas chromatography analysis with flame photometric and mass spectrometry detection. To achieve the optimum conditions of modified QuEChERS procedure several parameters affecting the cleanup efficiency including the amount of the sorbents and cleanup time were investigated. The results were compared with classical QuEChERS methodologies and the modified QuEChERS procedure using MNPs showed the better performance. Under the optimum conditions of the new methodology, three spiking levels (25, 50 and 100 μg kg-1) were evaluated in a strawberry sample. The results showed that the average recovery was 93% and the relative standard deviation was less than 12%. The enrichment factor ranged from 111 to 145%. The good linearity with coefficients of determination of 0.9904-0.9991 was obtained over the range of 25-250 μg kg-1 for 7 OPPs. It was determined that the MNPs have an excellent function as sorbent when purified even using less amount of sorbents and the magnetic properties allowed non-use of the centrifugation in cleanup step. The new methodology was applied in strawberry samples from conventional and organic farming. The new sorbents were successfully applied for extraction and determination of OPPs in strawberries.
