Abstract
Novel reprocessable thermosetting adhesives (RTAs), which combine high adhesive strength, reusability, disassembly, and recyclability features, have attracted increasing attention. However, developing RTAs with a rapidly adhesive rate while ensuring high adhesive strength and self-healing ability is still a significant challenge. Here, we prepared a novel vitrimer called DAx-DTSAy, which can be used as an RTA. First, by adjusting the ratio of rigid and flexible segments, maximum tensile strength reached 35.92 MPa. Second, the combined effect of dynamic hydroxyl ester bonds and dynamic disulfide bonds resulted in a rapid stress relaxation behavior, with a complete relaxation time 13.6 times shorter than a vitrimer only cross-linked with hydroxy ester bonds. This feature endowed its good self-healing and reprocessing capabilities. After self-healing at 180 °C, the maximum healing rate of mechanical properties was 91.8%. After three reprocesses, the maximum recovery rate of tensile strength was 120.2%. Furthermore, the combination of rigid and flexible segments and the synergistic effect of dual dynamic covalent bonds made DAx-DTSAy capable of use as a high-performance RTA. The lap shear strength of a DAx-DTSAy film on stainless steel reached 18.18 MPa after 15 min, with a recovery rate of 91.9% after 5 rebonding cycles. Additionally, DAx-DTSAy can be disassembled in chemical agents and exhibited better insulation properties compared to traditional epoxy resins. DAx-DTSAy can be employed as a novel high-performance adhesive in applications such as electronic devices and transportation, contributing to the development of thermosetting adhesives toward recyclability and sustainability.

Abstract
Polyimides (PIs) are widely used in circuit components, electrical insulators, and power systems in modern electronic devices and large electrical appliances. Electrical/mechanical damage of materials are important factors that threaten reliability and service lifetime. Dynamic (self-healable, recyclable and degradable) PIs, a promising class of materials that successfully improve electrical/mechanical properties after damage, are anticipated to solve this issue. The viewpoints and perspectives on the status and future trends of dynamic PI based on a few existing documents are shared. The main damage forms of PI dielectric materials in the application process are first introduced, and initial strategies and schemes to solve these problems are proposed. Fundamentally, the bottleneck issues faced by the development of dynamic PIs are indicated, and the relationship between various damage forms and the universality of the method is evaluated. The potential mechanism of the dynamic PI to deal with electrical damage is highlighted and several feasible prospective schemes to address electrical damage are discussed. This study is concluded by presenting a short outlook and future improvements to systems, challenges, and solutions of dynamic PI in electrical insulation. The summary of theory and practice should encourage policy development favoring energy conservation and environmental protection and promoting sustainability.

Abstract
Elastomers have many industrial, medical and commercial applications, however, their huge demand raises an important question of how to dispose of the out-of-service elastomers. Ideal elastomers that are concurrently tough, recyclable, and degradable are in urgent need, but their preparation remains a rigorous challenge. Herein, a polycaprolactone (PCL) based polyurethane elastomer is designed and prepared to meet this demand. Owing to the presence of dynamic coordination bond and the occurrence of strain-induced crystallization, the obtained elastomer exhibits a high toughness of ≈372 MJ m-3 and an unprecedented fracture energy of ≈646 kJ m-2 , which is much higher than natural rubber (≈50 MJ m-3 for toughness and ≈10 kJ m-2 for fracture energy). In addition, the elastomer can be recycled at least three times using solvent without losing its mechanical properties and can be degraded by lipase in ≈2 months. Finally, biological experiments demonstrate that the elastomer possesses good biocompatibility and can facilitate wound healing in mice when used as sutures. It is believed that the obtained elastomer meets the requirements for next-generation elastomers and is expected to be used in emerging fields such as biomedicine, flexible electronics, robotics and beyond.

Abstract
Dynamic bonds introduce unique properties such as self-healing, recyclability, shape memory, and malleability to polymers. Significant efforts have been made to synthesize a variety of dynamic linkers, creating a diverse library of materials. In addition to the development of new dynamic chemistries, fine-tuning of dynamic bonds has emerged as a technique to modulate dynamic properties. This Review highlights approaches for controlling the timescales of dynamic bonds in polymers. Particularly, eight dynamic bonds are considered, including urea/urethanes, boronic esters, Thiol-Michael exchange, Diels-Alder adducts, transesterification, imine bonds, coordination bonds, and hydrogen bonding. This Review emphasizes how structural modifications and external factors have been used as tools to tune the dynamic character of materials. Finally, this Review proposes strategies for tailoring the timescales of dynamic bonds in polymer materials through both kinetic effects and modulating bond thermodynamics.

Abstract
Hydrogen bond interactions are important for nylon fibers, which improve its mechanical properties and crystallization behavior, while hindering the movement and orientation of the molecular chain during the drawn process. In this study, hexamethylene adipamide was used as the second monomer in copolymerization with ε-caprolactam to obtain copolyamide 6/66 (CoPA), and high-tenacity fibers with a maximum value up to 8.0 cN/dtex were achieved by a multi-step drawn and thermal setting process. Results show that the hexamethylene–adipamide ratio affected the draw ratio (DR) of the as-spun fiber, on the tenacity of final high-performance fiber, and on crystalline. Both DR and tenacity showed evident increases with the hexamethylene–adipamide ratio up to 6% in CoPA and then changed smoothly. However, XRD and DSC results illustrate a decreased tendency with regard to crystallinity. The attenuated in-site total reflection Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR) spectra were used to study the hydrogen bond interaction between the C=O group and N–H group and the crystal form of the fiber. Results show that the copolymerization destroyed the regularity of the main chain of CoPA and reduces the interaction of interstrand hydrogen bonds, facilitating the formation of the γ-crystalline form in as-spun fibers, fulfilling the transition from the γ to α crystalline form during the fiber-drawing step because of the release of the C=O group and N–H group from the hydrogen bond interaction at an elevated temperature close to the molten temperature of CoPA, and then reforming during the thermal-setting step which soiled the crystalline and improved the tenacity of the fiber. The copolymerization with a homologous monomer regulates the hydrogen bond interaction, fulfills the high drawn ratio and high tenacity fiber, and provides a new route for high-performance fiber preparation using traditional fiber formation of polymers.

Abstract
The rapid development of the polymeric materials market has created an urgent demand for the thermoplastic polyamide elastomer (TPAE) owing to its greater functionality, and ability to be synthesized via a facile and industrial route. In this work, a series of novel silicone-containing polyamides (PA1212/Si12) were successfully synthesized from 1,12-dodecarboxylic acid (LA), 1,12-dodecarbondiamine (DMDA), and 1,3-bis (amino-propyl) tetramethyldisiloxane (BATS), via a one-pot melt polycondensation method in the absence of a catalyst. FTIR, 1H-NMR, GPC and inherent viscosity results cohesively prove that the polymerization of monomers was well conducted, and the chemical structure was in high accordance with the design. As expected, the Si12 unit-content of the copolymers regulate the properties of the series. As the feeding ratio of BATS in the diamines increases from 5 mol% to 40 mol%, the thermal transition temperatures, Tg and Tm, decline steadily before finally stabilizing at ~6 °C and 160 °C, respectively, indicating that the co-polyamides possess improved chain flexibility but restricted crystallization ability. The conspicuous evolution in crystalline morphology of the series was observed by XRD and AFM. The increased PA Si12 phase induces the crystallized PA 1212 phase to transit from a thermally-favorable large and rigid crystal structure (α phase) to a kinetically-favorable small and ductile crystal structure (γ phase). Reflected in their stress–strain behavior, PA1212/Si12 copolymers are successfully tailored from rigid plastic to ductile elastomer. The tensile strength mildly drops from above 40 MPa to ~30 MPa while the reversible elongation increases from ~50% to approximately 350%. Accordingly, the moderate surface tension differences in the monomers facilitate the efficient conduction of the co-polymerization process, and the distributed short siloxane unit in the backbone fulfills the copolymer with desirable elasticity. Interestingly, the novel silicone-containing polyamides also display Si12 unit-content dependent flame retardancy, humidity stability, and unconventional solid-state fluorescence properties. The elastomers exhibit a low bibulous rate and anti-fouling characteristics to dye droplets and mud contamination, pass the V–1 rating (UL 94) with a constantly declining PHRR value, and emit blue luminescence under a 365 nm light source. Herein, we propose a new facile strategy for developing a high-performance and multifunctional silicone-modified polyamide, which bears promising industrialization potential. In addition, this first reported silicone-containing thermoplastic polyamide elastomer, which is self-extinguishing, anti-fouling and blue-luminescent, will further broaden the application potential of thermoplastic polyamide elastomers.

Abstract
Renewable polymers with self-healing ability, excellent elongation, hydrophobicity, and selective oil absorption attributes are of interest for an extensive range of applications, such as e-skin, soft robots, wearable devices, and cleaning up oil spills. Herein, two fully renewable eco-friendly polyamide (PA)-based self-healing elastomers (namely, PA36,IA, and PA36,36) were prepared by a facile and green one-pot melt polycondensation of itaconic acid (IA), PripolTM 1009, and PriamineTM 1075 monomers. The molecular structures of these PAs were analyzed by FITR, 1H NMR, and 13C NMR. The distinct structure of these PAs shows superior strain values (above 2300%) and high ambient temperature autonomous self-healing ability. Interestingly, the synthesized renewable PA36,36 showed zero water absorption values and hydrophobic properties with a contact angle of θ = 91° compared to the synthesized PA36,IA and other previously reported PAs. These excellent attributes are due to the low concentration of amide groups, the highly entangled main chains, the intermolecular diffusion, the manifold dangling chains, and the numerous reversible physical bonds within the renewable PAs. Furthermore, the hydrophobic properties may aid in the selective oil absorption of the PA36,36-based foam, for which PA36,36 foam is produced by the green supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2) batch foaming process. The PA36,36 foam with a microporous cellular structure showed better absorption capacity and high stability in repeated use. Due to these advantages, these bio-based PAs have potential for the production of eco-friendly self-healing materials, superabsorbent foams, and other polymeric materials.

Abstract
Biomass bifunctional polyamide elastomers (BbPEs) were successfully prepared from dimer acid (DA), trimer acid (TA), and triethylenetetramine with shape memory and self-healing abilities. In the composition structure of BbPEs, vast hydrogen bonds formed among the amide bonds of different segments endowed the BbPEs with self-healing ability. At room temperature, the mechanical properties of BbPEs can be restored to 49% of the original condition after healing for 2 h. In addition, the physical and chemical cross-linking endowed the BbPE with preferable mechanical and shape memory properties. The tensile strength of the material is 4.4 ± 0.1 MPa, and the elongation at break reaches 1500 ± 2%. Under the recovery temperature of 60 °C, the shape memory recovery rate of 5 min can reach 95%. The recovery efficiency is 88.9%. This material can be utilized for many practical applications, such as intelligent electronic devices, bionic materials, and so on.

Abstract
Triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) as a revolutionary system for harvesting mechanical energy have demonstrated high vitality and great advantage, which open up great prospects for their application in various areas of the society of the future. The past few years have seen exponential growth in many new classes of self-healing polymers (SHPs) for TENGs. This review presents and evaluates the SHP range for TENGs, and also attempts to assess the impact of modern polymer chemistry on the development of advanced materials for TENGs. Among the most widely used SHPs for TENGs, the analysis of non-covalent (hydrogen bond, metal-ligand bond), covalent (imine bond, disulfide bond, borate bond) and multiple bond-based SHPs in TENGs has been performed. Particular attention is paid to the use of SHPs with shape memory as components of TENGs. Finally, the problems and prospects for the development of SHPs for TENGs are outlined.
