Abstract
In shrimp aquaculture, disease mitigation may be accomplished by reducing the virulence of the pathogen or by boosting the shrimp's immunity. Biofloc technology is an innovative system that improves the health and resistance of shrimp to microbial infections while providing a viable option for maintaining the quality of culture water through efficient nutrient recycling. This review aimed at demonstrating the efficacy of the biofloc system in boosting the immune responses and protective processes of shrimp against Vibrio parahaemolyticus infection, which is known to cause Acute Hepatopancreatic Necrosis Disease (AHPND). Numerous studies have revealed that the biofloc system promotes the immunological capability of shrimp by raising multiple immune -related genes e.g. prophenoloxidase, serine proteinase gene, ras-related nuclear gene and penaeidinexpression and cellular and humoral responses such as hyperaemia, prophenoloxidase activity, superoxide dismutase activity, phagocytic activity; the protection and survival of shrimp when faced with a challenge from the V. parahaemolyticus strain have been enhanced. Furthermore, the use of the biofloc system improves water quality parameters and potentially bolstering their immune and overall health to effectively resist diseases; hence, promotes the growth of shrimp. The present review suggests that biofloc can serve as an effective therapy for both preventing and supporting the management of probable AHPND infection in shrimp culture. This approach exhibits potential for the progress of sustainable shrimp farming, higher productivity, and improved shrimp health.

Abstract
Vibrio parahaemolyticus is a gram-negative facultative anaerobic bacterium implicated as the causative agent of several shrimp diseases. As part of the effort to provide biocontrol and cost-effective treatments, this research was designed to elucidate the effect of Morinda citrifolia fruit extract on the immunity of Penaeus vannamei postlarvae (PL) to V. parahaemolyticus. The methanol extract of M. citrifolia was vacuum evaporated, and the bioactive compounds were detected using gas chromatography‒mass spectrometry (GC‒MS). Thereafter, P. vannamei PL diets were supplemented with M. citrifolia at different concentrations (0, 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 mg/g) and administered for 30 days before 24 h of exposure to the bacterium V. parahaemolyticus. A total of 45 bioactive compounds were detected in the methanol extract of M. citrifolia, with cyclononasiloxane and octadecamethyl being the most abundant. The survival of P. vannamei PLs fed the extract supplement was better than that of the control group (7.1-26.7% survival greater than that of the control group) following V. parahaemolyticus infection. Shrimp fed 50 mg/g M. citrifolia had the highest recorded survival. The activities of digestive and antioxidant enzymes as well as hepatopancreatic cells were significantly reduced, except for those of lipase and hepatopancreatic E-cells, which increased following challenge with V. parahaemolyticus. Histological assessment of the hepatopancreas cells revealed reduced cell degeneration following the administration of the plant extracts (expecially those fed 50 mg/g M. citrifolia) compared to that in the control group. Therefore, the enhanced immunity against V. parahaemolyticus infection in P. vannamei could be associated with the improved hepatopancreas health associated with M. citrifolia fruit extract supplementation.

Abstract
Andrographis paniculata (AP) is a traditional medicinal plant with many pharmacological activities, including anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, immunity stimulation and so on. Several studies have reported that AP plays a strong role in promoting the immune system of aquatic animals to resist several pathogens. In the present study, we investigate the effects of a diet containing AP on the immune responses, growth, and the resistance to Vibrio alginolyticus (V. alginolyticus) in Litopenaeus vannamei (L. vannamei). Four diets were formulated by adding AP at the dosage of 0% (Control), 0.25%, 0.5%, and 1% in the basal diet, respectively. Each diet was randomly fed to one group with three replicates of shrimps in a 28-day feeding trial. The results showed that dietary AP improved the growth performance and non-specific immune function of shrimps. To investigate the effect of AP on disease resistance of L. vannamei, shrimps fed with diet containing AP were challenged with V. alginolyticus. Compared with the control group, the shrimps fed diet containing AP showed significantly higher survival. Furthermore, the hepatopancreas injury in the shrimp fed with AP was less than control group at 6 h after V. alginolyticus infection. However, no difference was observed in the degree of hepatopancreas injury between AP groups and control group at 12 h and 24 h after V. alginolyticus infection. Based on this result, the samples at 6 h after V. alginolyticus infection was selected for subsequent detection. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation in hemocytes and O2- production in hepatopancreas caused by V. alginolyticus infection was significantly reduced after feeding a diet containing 0.25% and 0.5% AP (p < 0.05). In addition, we found that feeding AP significantly up-regulated the expression of pro-apoptotic genes (Bax, Caspase 3, p53) and down-regulated the expression of anti-apoptotic genes (Bcl-2) in hepatopancreas after V. alginolyticus infection. In conclusion, AP promote the growth and immunity of L. vannamei, and protects shrimps against V. alginolyticus by regulating the oxidative damage and apoptosis. These results provide useful information regarding the effects of AP extracts as a shrimp feed additive for sustainable shrimp culture.

Abstract
The current study investigates the effect of ethanolic extract of Salvinia cucullata (EESC) on growth, non-specific immune parameters, and disease resistance to Vibrio parahaemolyticus in Litopenaeus vannamei. The in-vitro cytotoxicity investigation was performed on shrimp hemolymph hemocytes to assess the toxicity and immunological responses with various concentrations of EESC, and no significant difference in cell viability was seen across dosages, but substantial changes in Phenol Oxidase (PO) and phagocytosis were reported. The in-vivo investigation was conducted on white shrimp for 56 days using varied amounts of 0 (control), 5 (EESC5), 10 (EESC10), and 20 (EESC20) g kg-1 containing feeds and challenged against Vibrio parahaemolyticus. The shrimp fed the EESC10 diet gained the most weight, had the highest specific growth rate (SGR) and had a better feed conversion ratio (FCR). The highest cumulative survival percentage was noted on the EESC10 diet-fed shrimps followed by EESC20 and EESC5 groups after the bacterial challenge with V. parahaemolyticus. The results of immune parameters such as total protein, total carbohydrate, coagulation time, total hemocytes count (THC), superoxide dismutase (SOD), ProPO, and phagocytosis levels were better in the EESC10 group. EESC5 and EESC20 groups were also shown better immunomodulatory effects than the control group. In conclusion, the oral administration of EESC was found to be an effective functional feed additive to improve the growth, immune parameters, and disease resistance against V. parahaemolyticus in L.vannamei.

Abstract
Prebiotics such as mannan-oligosaccharides (MOS) are a promising approach to improve performance and disease resistance in shrimp. To improve prebiotic utilization, we investigated the potential probiotics and their feasibility of synbiotic use in vitro. Two bacterial isolates, Man26 and Man122, were isolated from shrimp intestines and screened for mannanase, the enzyme for mannan digestion. The crude mannanase from both isolates showed optimal activities at pH 8 with optimum temperatures at 60 °C and 50 °C, respectively. The enzymes remained stable at pH 8−10 for 3 h (>70% relative activity). The thermostability range of Man26 was 20−40 °C for 20 min (>50%), while that of Man122 was 20−60 °C for 30 min (>50%). The Vmax of Man122 against locust bean gum substrate was 41.15 ± 12.33 U·mg−1, six times higher than that of Man26. The Km of Man26 and Man122 were 18.92 ± 4.36 mg·mL−1 and 34.53 ± 14.46 mg·mL−1, respectively. With the addition of crude enzymes, reducing sugars of copra meal, palm kernel cake, and soybean meal were significantly increased (p < 0.05), as well as protein release. The results suggest that Man26 and Man122 could potentially be used in animal feeds and synbiotically with copra meal to improve absorption and utilization of feedstuffs.

A trial was conducted to evaluate the effect of dietary grape seed proanthocyanidin extract (GSPE) on gold fish, Carassius auratus. In this regard, GSPE was added to a basal diet at four levels including 0, 200, 400, and 600 mg/kg to produce four experimental diets including control, GSPE200, GSPE400, and GSPE600. Three hundred and sixty goldfish (3.75 ± 0.1 g) were stocked in twelve 100 L rectangular tanks (30 fish per tank) and fed with the experimental diets three times a day for nine weeks. During the experimental trial, water temperature was 26.7–28.5ºC. The weight gain and specific growth rate in the fish fed with GSPE supplemented diets were higher than the control, meanwhile feed conversion ratio value in these groups decreased compared to the control. Fish fed GSPE-supplemented diets had lower fillet lipid (10-19%), but higher protein levels (7–15%) compared to the control. The levels of serum triglyceride, alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase in the fish fed GSPE-supplemented diets were decreased compared to the control group. The highest and lowest levels of serum glucose, and ALP were in the fish fed with control and GSPE600 diets, respectively. The skin mucusal lysozyme activity (24–38%) and protein level (70–96%) were higher in fish fed GSPE-supplemented diets than the control. The highest, and lowest liver antioxidant enzymes including superoxide dismutase, catalase, and gluthatione peroxidase were observed in in GSPE 600, and control groups, respectively. The findings of the present study indicated that supplementing 400 mg/kg GSPE in diet can improve growth and health condition in goldfish.

Abstract
The high quality and efficient production of greenhouse vegetation depend on micrometeorology environmental adjusting such as system warming and illumination supplement. In order to improve the quantity, quality, and efficiency of greenhouse vegetation, it is necessary to figure out the relationship between the crop growth conditions and environmental meteorological factors, which could give constructive suggestions for precise control of the greenhouse environment and reduce the running costs. The parameters from the color information of the plant canopy reflect the internal physiological conditions, thus, the RGB model has been widely used in the color analysis of digital pictures of leaves. We take photographs of Begonia Fimbristipula Hance (BFH) growing in the greenhouse at a fixed time every day and measure the meteorological factors. The results showed that the color scale for the single leaf, single plant, and the populated canopy of the BFH photographs all have skewed cumulative distribution histograms. The color gradation skewness-distribution (CGSD) parameters of the RGB model were increased from 4 to 20 after the skewness analysis, which greatly expanded the canopy leaf color information and could simultaneously describe the depth and distribution characteristics of the canopy color. The 20 CGSD parameters were sensitive to the micrometeorology factors, especially to the radiation and temperature accumulation. The multiple regression models of mean, median, mode, and kurtosis parameters to microclimate factors were established, and the spatial models of skewness parameters were optimized. The models can well explain the response of canopy color to microclimate factors and can be used to monitor the variation of plant canopy color under different micrometeorology.

Abstract
White spot syndrome virus (WSSV) is a fatal pathogen threatening global crustacean industry with no commercially available drugs to control. Herbal medicines have been widely used to treat a number of viral infections, which could offer a rich reserve for antiviral drug discovery. Here, we evaluated the inhibition activities of 30 herbal medicines against WSSV in Chinese mitten crab Eriocheir sinensis. A WSSV infection model in E. sinensis was firstly established in order to determine the antiviral effects of the plant extracts and to explore the potential action mechanisms. Results showed that the highest anti-WSSV activity was obtained by the treatment of Ophiopogon japonicus extract (93.03%, 100 mg/kg). O. japonicus treatment decreased viral loads in a dose-dependent manner and significantly improved the survival of WSSV-challenged crabs. O. japonicus reduced the expression of vital genes in viral life cycle in vivo, particularly for the immediate-early stage gene ie1. Further results indicated that O. japonicus could repress the JAK-STAT signaling pathway to block ie1 transcription. Moreover, O. japonicus could modulate certain immune genes such as the myosin, toll-like receptor, crustin, and prophenoloxidase in the interactions between WSSV and crabs. The up-regulated expression of pro-autophagic factors (Gabarap and Atg7) and elevated levels of antioxidant enzymes (SOD, CAT and GSH) suggested that O. japonicus may induce autophagy and attenuate WSSV-induced oxidative stress. Taken together, O. japonicus could inhibit WSSV proliferation and improve the survival of WSSV-challenged crabs. Thus, O. japonicus may have the potential to be developed as a preventive or therapeutic agent against WSSV, and its effective compounds merit further isolation and identification.

Abstract
Disease epidemics in shrimp aquaculture increase apace with the development of aquaculture systems throughout the world. The disease caused by Vibrio spp. (vibriosis) is considered the most devastating, which has made it the most feared bacterial disease in the shrimp sector. In aquaculture, several strategies have already been applied to control Vibrio strains, including chemicals, probiotics, antibiotics, natural products from plants, including plant oils; hence, there has been considerable attention for using plants in shrimp aquaculture to provide sustainable, eco-friendly and safe compounds, such as alkaloids, saponins, terpenoids and flavonoids for replacing chemical compounds and antibiotics in current aquaculture. Medicinal plants may also have immunostimulating activity, increase growth and resistance in shrimps. The present paper aims to review the inhibition of Vibrio spp. in shrimp by medicinal plants, using both in vitro or/and in vivo techniques. Several medicinal plants appear capable of inhibiting growth of Vibrio pathogens outside living shrimp or in the body of shrimp, through enhancing growth and immune capacity when shrimps are fed or injected with them. In the current review Gracilaria spp. (Gracilariaceae family) and Sargassum spp. (family Sargassaceae) have been used most for in vitro and in vivo experiments. Among the terrestrial plants, Eucalyptus camaldulensis, Psidium guajava, Rhodomyrtus tomentosa, and Syzygium cumini (Myrtaceae family) had significant activity against Vibrio.

Abstract
Gynura bicolor (Roxb. and Willd.) DC (G. bicolor) is generally used as a dietary vegetable and traditional herb in Taiwan and the Far East. G. bicolor exerts antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects and regulates blood lipids and cholesterol. However, the effects of G. bicolor on endothelial transmigration and atherosclerosis are not clear. The present study investigated the effects of G. bicolor on endothelial permeability and transmigration in human endothelial cells. We prepared G. bicolor ether extract (GBEE) for use as the experimental material. Under TNF-α stimulation, HL-60 cell adherence to EA.hy926 cells, the shape of EA.hy926 cells, and the expression of adhesion molecules and transmigration-related regulatory molecules were analysed after pretreatment with GBEE for 24 h. GBEE inhibited leukocyte adhesion to endothelial cells, reduced intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1) and platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1 (PECAM-1) expressions, and decreased endothelial monolayer permeability. GBEE also reduced paracellular transmigration by reducing the levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS), Src phosphorylation, and vascular endothelial-cadherin (VE-cadherin) phosphorylation. GBEE reduced transcellular migration via inhibition of Ras homolog family member A (RhoA) and Rho-associated protein kinase (ROCK) expression and phosphorylation of the ezrin-radixin-moesin (ERM) protein. Incubation of EA.hy926 cells with GBEE for 8 h and stimulation with TNF-α for 3 h reduced the phosphorylation of the inhibitor of kappa B (IĸB) and DNA-binding activity of nuclear factor-ĸB (NF-ĸB). These results suggest that GBEE has a protective effect against endothelial dysfunction via suppression of leukocyte-endothelium adhesion and transmigration.

Abstract
In vitro and in vivo effects of Astragalus polysaccharide (APS), chlorogenic acid (CGA) and berberine (BBR) on shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) were studied. In vitro test showed that the combination of APS and BBR and the combination of APS and CGA have strong immune enhancement effects and no lysosomal membrane damage on hemocyte. Then, feeding experiment was proceeded to optimize the concentrations of compound herbal extracts. Four diets containing G1-G4(0.5 g kg -1 APS + 0.5 g kg -1 BBR, 1.0 g kg -1 APS +1.0 g kg -1 BBR, 0.5 g kg -1 APS +0.5 g kg -1 CGA, 1.0 g kg -1 APS + 1.0 g kg -1 CGA) associated with the control group (common diet) were compared and determined their biomolecule damage to hepatopancreas including DNA damage, lipid peroxidation and protein carbonyl. The results indicated that G3 (0.5 g kg -1 APS +0.5 g kg -1 CGA) showed higher total hemocyte counts, phagocytic activities, antibacterial activities and bacteriolytic activities during 6 days feeding, and without biomolecule damages after 6 days post-withdrawal. Therefore, the appropriate immunostimulants formula in this study was the combination of 0.5 g kg -1 APS and 0.5 g kg-1 CGA, which was used for 6 days followed by 6 days post-withdrawal. Additionally, our study provides new support for screening composite immunostimulants formula by using primary shrimp hemocyte culture.

Abstract
This study investigates the effects of Phyllanthus amarus extract (PAE) on immune responses, growth, and resistance to Vibrio alginolyticus in white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei). In vitro PAE treatment did not alter the cell viability of haemocytes and significantly enhanced immune parameters such as phenoloxidase (PO) activity, phagocytic activity, and superoxide anion (O2-) production. We conducted two feeding trials to examine the effects of PAE on the growth, disease resistance, and innate immune parameters of white shrimp. In the first in vivo trial, shrimps (4.01 ± 0.03 g) were fed a diet containing 0 g (control), 10 g (PAE10), 20 g (PAE20), or 40 g (PAE40) of PAE per kilogram of feed for 56 days. After the feeding period, the PAE20 group showed a significantly higher weight gain and specific growth rate than shrimp fed the control diet. Furthermore, after challenge with V. alginolyticus, shrimp fed a diet containing PAE showed significantly higher survival than those fed the control diet. The second in vivo trial (28 days) was performed to identify the mechanisms of enhanced immunity in PAE-fed shrimp. Shrimp fed the PAE20 diet generally had the highest total haemocyte count, PO activity, phagocytic activity, and O2- production, followed by the PAE40 and PAE10 groups. Thus, our results suggest that administration of 20 g of PAE per kilogram of feed can enhance immunity, growth, and resistance to V. alginolyticus in white shrimp.

Penaeus monodon is highly susceptible to vibriosis disease. Aims of the study were to identify the pathogen causing vibriosis in P. monodon through molecular techniques and develop a biocontrol method of the disease by application of herbal extracts. Shrimp samples were collected aseptically from the infected farm and the bacteria were isolated from the infected region of those samples. Based on phenotypic identification, several isolates were identified as Vibrio sp. 16S rRNA gene sequences of the selected isolates exhibited 100% homology with V. alginolyticus strain ATCC 17749. An in vivo infection challenge test was performed by immersion method with V. alginolyticus where these isolates caused high mortality in juvenile shrimp with prominent symptoms of hepatopancreatic necrosis. Antibiogram profile of the isolates was determined against eleven commercial antibiotic discs whereas the isolates were found resistant to multiple antibiotics. A total of twenty-one herbal extracts were screened where Emblica officinalis, Allium sativum, and Syzygium aromaticum strongly inhibited the growth of V. alginolyticus in in vitro conditions. In in vivo conditions, the ethyl acetate extracts of E. officinalis and A. sativum successfully controlled the vibriosis disease in shrimp at a dose of 10 mg/g feed. Abstract
To seek scientific evidence to support the effectiveness of invisible aligners, in the aesthetic and functional aspects, compared with that of conventional braces. An electronic search was performed with a complementary grey literature search for in vivo research. No language restrictions were applied. Scopus, PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane, ClinicalTrials and GreyLiterature databases were used. Studies were first selected by title and abstract; those potentially eligible were read in full. Non-randomized studies were assessed for risk of bias using the tools Methodological Index for Non-randomized Studies (MINORS) and Cochrane Collaboration Common Scheme for Bias as a function of the presence of randomization. The search found 559 studies, of which 55 were potentially eligible. A total of 4 articles were included in this systematic literature review: three non-randomized controlled studies and one randomized controlled study, three with low risk of bias (RoB) and one with moderate RoB. Three studies showed time of correction of dental crowding shorter or equal to that of the control group and only one study showed less time of correction using conventional braces. Invisible aligners were deficient with respect to anterior/posterior and vertical corrections compared with fixed orthodontic appliances. Invisible aligners are effective in promoting dental alignment, but present clinical limitations in relation to the conventional system.

Abstract
The present study aim to investigate the effects of dietary Gelsemium elegans alkaloids supplementation in Megalobrama amblycephala. A basal diet supplemented with 0, 5, 10, 20 and 40 mg/kg G. elegans alkaloids were fed to M. amblycephala for 12 weeks. The study indicated that dietary 20 mg/kg and 40 mg/kg G. elegans alkaloids supplementation could significantly improve final body weight (FBW), weight gain rate (WGR), specific growth rate (SGR), feed conversion ratio (FCR) and protein efficiency ratio (PER) (P < 0.05). The 20 mg/kg and 40 mg/kg G. elegans alkaloids groups showed significantly higher whole body and muscle crude protein and crude lipid contents compared to the control group (P < 0.05). The amino acid contents in muscle were also significantly increased in 20 mg/kg and 40 mg/kg groups (P < 0.05). Dietary 40 mg/kg G. elegans alkaloids had a significant effect on the contents of LDH, AST, ALT, ALP, TG, TC, LDL-C, HDL-C, ALB and TP in M. amblycephala (P < 0.05). Fish fed 20 mg/kg and 40 mg/kg dietary G. elegans alkaloids showed significant increase in complement 3, complement 4 and immunoglobulin M contents. The liver antioxidant enzymes (SOD, CAT and T-AOC) and MDA content significantly increased at 20 mg/kg and 40 mg/kg G. elegans alkaloids supplement (P < 0.05). The mRNA levels of immune-related genes IL-1β, IL8, TNF-α and IFN-α were significantly up-regulated, whereas TGF-β and IL10 genes were significantly down-regulated in the liver, spleen and head kidney of fish fed dietary supplementation with 20 mg/kg and 40 mg/kg G. elegans alkaloids. After challenge with Aeromonas hydrophila, significant higher survival rate was observed at 20 mg/kg and 40 mg/kg G. elegans alkaloids supplement (P < 0.05). Therefore, these results indicated that M. amblycephala fed a diet supplemented with 20 mg/kg and 40 mg/kg G. elegans alkaloids could significantly promote its growth performance, lipids and amino acids deposition, immune ability and resistance to Aeromonas hydrophila.

Abstract
In aquaculture, fighting infectious diseases is a necessity. This study measured the immuno-stimulating effect of live macroalgae consumption on Litopenaeus vannamei against Vibrio parahaemolyticus and WSSV infection in two independent bioassays. Shrimps and macroalgae were cultivated in a co-culture with two species of macroalgae separately (Gracilaria vermiculophylla and Dictyota dichotoma), and later, shrimp were infected with V. parahaemolyticus. In another bioassay, shrimp and macroalgae (G. vermiculophylla, D. dichotoma and Ulva lactuca) were grown and subsequently infected with WSSV. For both bioassays, survival after 120 h was determined, the total hemocyte count (TCH) was measured and the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) in tissue were measured. The results indicate that the use of macroalgae in co-culture with L. vannamei provides a nutritional benefit that achieves higher growth than the control organisms, as well as improvements of the ammonium concentration and immune response after infection with V. parahaemolyticus and WSSV. A better immune response was obtained in organisms cultured with macroalgae in both bioassays at a ratio of 1.6-1.9 for organisms infected with bacteria and 1.4 to 1.6 times for organisms infected with the virus. In turn, the enzymatic activity of SOD and CAT were higher in the treated organisms relative to the controls in both experiments.

Abstract
In this experiment, 426 strains were isolated from the intestinal tract of Litopenaeus vannamei, and 11 strains showed strong digestive enzyme production activity and antagonistic effect against common bacterial pathogens of shrimp. After hemolysis activity test and drug sensitivity test, 2 candidate probiotics with good bacteriostatic activity, strong enzyme production ability and relatively sensitive to antibiotics were screened out, and were identified by 16s rDNA molecular identification and Biolog-System as Enterobacter hominis (E3) and lactobacillus (L3). First, the biological characteristics of 2 candidate probiotics were studied. The optimum growth conditions of E3: temperature, 30 °C; pH, 8.0; NaCl, 2.5%; bovine bile salt, 0.15%; and the optimum growth conditions of L3: temperature, 40 °C; pH, 6.0; NaCl, 0.5%; bovine bile salt, 0.0015%. Secondly, a 28-day feeding experiment was conducted using probiotic concentration of 107 CFU g-1 to determine the changes of the activities of blood related immune enzymes (SOD, PPO, ACP, POD, CAT, LZM) and intestinal digestive enzymes (NP, AL, LPS) during the feeding process of shrimp, the results showed that during the course of feeding, the activities of immune enzyme and digestive enzyme of shrimp fed with probiotics showed an increasing trend, and the growth rate of body weight of shrimp was higher than that of control group. After feeding, the cumulative mortality of probiotics groups were significantly lower than that of the control group after WSSV infection. And the mid-gut of L. vannamei was observed by electron microscope, the results showed that the intestinal mucosa was tight and the epithelium cells showed an active secretory state in probiotics group. Finally, the intestinal microbial communities of shrimp were compared and analyzed by using Biolog-ECO method in the later period of feeding, the results showed: compared with the control group, the average color change rate of the experimental group fed with probiotics increased significantly, indicating that probiotics enhanced the intestinal microorganism activity; The ability of intestinal microorganism to utilize carbon source was significantly enhanced in the experimental group, which indicated that the digestive enzyme secreted by probiotics could improve the digestion and absorption rate of prawn feed, thus promoting the rapid growth of shrimp; The Shannon index, Simpson index and McIntosh index of probiotics groups showed significant difference in 1st and 5th days, but tended to be the same in the 10th day, the results showed that probiotics could maintain in L. vannamei intestines at least 5 days.

Abstract
Innate immunity and resistance against Vibrio alginolyticus in white shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei, that received α-phellandrene were examined. The results indicated that the percent survival of shrimp receiving 4, 8, and 12 μg g-1 α-phellandrene was significantly higher than that of control shrimp after 72 h (p < 0.05). In a separate experiment, the phenoloxidase (PO), respiratory bursts, superoxide dismutase (SOD), and phagocytic and lysozyme activity of L. vannamei receiving 8 and 12 μg g-1 α-phellandrene were significantly higher than those of the other groups upon challenge with V. alginolyticus at 24-60, 36-60, 12-60, 12-72 and 48-72 h, respectively. However, no significant differences in the total haemocyte counts (THC) of L. vannamei receiving any dose of α-phellandrene and of control shrimp were observed at 12-72 h. The expression (mRNA transcripts) of the immune genes prophenoloxidase (proPO), LPS- and β-1,3-glucan-binding protein (LGBP) and peroxinectin (PE) of shrimp receiving α-phellandrene at 8 and 12 μg g-1 significantly increased after challenge with V. alginolyticus for 72 h (p < 0.05). We conclude that the immune ability and resistance against V. alginolyticus infection increased in L. vannamei receiving >4 μg g-1 α-phellandrene. These results indicated that α-phellandrene plays an important role in the innate immunity of white shrimp.

Abstract
This paper investigates the efficacy of Gracilaria corticata, Saccharomyces cerevisiae and gamma irradiation WSSV as immunostimulants to white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei. Seven hundred and twenty healthy shrimp SPF L. vannamei subadult with average weight of 10 ± 1.02 g were collected and divided into 8 groups. The first group (T1) was fed with commercial pellet, the second group (T2) fed with S. cerevisiae (2 g/kg), the third group (T3) fed with G. corticata powder mixed with shrimp feed (2 g/kg) and, finally, the fourth group (T4) was fed with commercial pellet and injected intramuscularly gamma irradiant WSSV (1 μl/gbw) for 10 days. The shrimps were then injected with WSSV and maintained for 25 days. The positive control group for each treatment was maintained in the same manner but without injection with WSSV. Moreover, survival rate and immune parameters such as total hemocyte count (THC), total protein plasma (TPP), superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity, peroxidase (POD) activity and phenoloxidase activity (PO) were determined. Results indicated that the survival rates for groups T4, T3 T2 and T1 were 57.05 ± 3.52%, 22.5 ± 0.5%, 15 ± 1.05% and 00.0 ± 0%, respectively. Ultimately, at the end of the study the shrimp group T4 showed higher hematological data: THC, TPP, SOD, POD and PO. The study concluded that gamma irradiant WSSV is effective immunostimulants in shrimp L. vannamei and the immunity has better performances than those of the G. corticata and S. cerevisiae.
