Abstract
BACKGROUND Preliminary data suggest that patients with COVID-19 may experience psychiatric symptoms, including psychosis. We systematically reviewed the literature to evaluate the concurrence of new-onset psychosis or exacerbation of clinically stable psychosis through case reports and case series. METHODS Six databases were searched, followed by an electronic and manual search of the relevant articles. Studies were identified using predetermined eligibility criteria. We evaluated the demographic characteristics, clinical history, course of illness, management, and prognosis of the patients in these studies. RESULTS Case reports and case series, altogether consisting of 57 unique cases were included. The mean patient age for onset of psychotic symptoms was 43.4 years for men and 40.3 years for women. About 69% of patients had no prior history of psychiatric disorders. Most patients had mild COVID-19-related symptoms, with only 15 (26.3%) presenting with moderate to severe COVID-19-related disease and complications. The most commonly reported psychotic symptoms were delusions and hallucinations. Patients with psychotic symptoms were treated with antipsychotics, benzodiazepines, valproic acid, and electroconvulsive treatment. In 36 cases, psychotic symptoms resolved completely or improved significantly. Ten cases had partial improvement with residual psychotic symptoms, and one patient died due to cardiac arrest. CONCLUSION Most patients responded to a low-to-moderate dose of antipsychotics with a quick recovery. However, the residual psychiatric symptoms highlight the need for careful monitoring and longer follow-up. Clinicians should be mindful of the occurrence of psychosis due to COVID-19 infection in a subset of COVID-19 patients that can be misdiagnosed as a psychotic disorder alone.

Abstract
Background Autoimmune-mediated encephalitis is a disease that often encompasses psychiatric symptoms as its first clinical manifestation’s predominant and isolated characteristic. Novel guidelines even distinguish autoimmune psychosis from autoimmune encephalitis. The aim of this review is thus to explore whether a wide range of psychiatric symptoms and syndromes are associated or correlate with autoantibodies. Methods We conducted a PubMed search to identify appropriate articles concerning serum and/or cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) autoantibodies associated with psychiatric symptoms and syndromes between 2000 and 2020. Relying on this data, we developed a diagnostic approach to optimize the detection of autoantibodies in psychiatric patients, potentially leading to the approval of an immunotherapy. Results We detected 10 major psychiatric symptoms and syndromes often reported to be associated with serum and/or CSF autoantibodies comprising altered consciousness, disorientation, memory impairment, obsessive-compulsive behavior, psychosis, catatonia, mood dysfunction, anxiety, behavioral abnormalities (autism, hyperkinetic), and sleeping dysfunction. The following psychiatric diagnoses were associated with serum and/or CSF autoantibodies: psychosis and schizophrenia spectrum disorders, mood disorders, minor and major neurocognitive impairment, obsessive-compulsive disorder, autism spectrum disorders (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety disorders, eating disorders and addiction. By relying on these symptom clusters and diagnoses in terms of onset and their duration, we classified a subacute or subchronic psychiatric syndrome in patients that should be screened for autoantibodies. We propose further diagnostics entailing CSF analysis, electroencephalography and magnetic resonance imaging of the brain. Exploiting these technologies enables standardized and accurate diagnosis of autoantibody-associated psychiatric symptoms and syndromes to deliver early immunotherapy. Conclusions We have developed a clinical diagnostic pathway for classifying subgroups of psychiatric patients whose psychiatric symptoms indicate a suspected autoimmune origin. Autoantibodies are associated with a broad spectrum of psychiatric syndromes. More systematic studies are needed to elucidate the significance of autoantibodies. We developed a pathway to identify autoantibody-associated psychiatric syndromes.

Abstract
The objectives of the 16th International Congress on Antiphospholipid Antibodies (aPL) Task Force on Clinical Manifestations of Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS) were to critically analyze: a) the definition of "APS"; b) the current knowledge on non-traditional manifestations associated with aPL; and c) the risk stratification strategies in aPL-positive patients. The quality of evidence was assessed by the GRADE system. The task force concluded that: a) APS does not have a uniform definition given the heterogeneity of the clinical presentations and different aPL profiles; b) current literature supports the role for aPL testing in cases of thrombocytopenia and recurrent cardiac events but are limited by vast heterogeneity, providing an overall low-to-very low level of evidence; and c) risk stratification strategies in aPL-positive patients, such as aPL-Score and Global APS Score, can be useful in clinical practice. International multicenter studies are still highly needed to improve the quality of available evidence and consequently the strength of future recommendations.

Abstract
Mental disorders (mainly anxiety and depressive disorders) and cognitive impairment are often found in patients with antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), but their prevalence, structure, and mechanisms of occurrence are not well researched. The review provides literature data on the frequency, spectrum and possible causes of mental disorders and cognitive impairment in patients with APS, the pathogenetic mechanisms of these disorders (in particular, the important role of antiphospholipid antibodies, stress factors, chronic inflammation), the relationship between APS, mental disorders and as well as cognitive impairment is examined. Special attention is paid to the influence of mental disorders and cognitive impairment on patients adherence to treatment, their quality of life, as well as the particularities of psychopharmacotherapy of mental disorders in patients with APS. The aim of the review is to actualize the interdisciplinary problem of mental disorders and cognitive impairment in patients with APS and the need to introduce a partnership model of care.

Abstract
Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), an autoantibody mediated disease, is characterized by presence of antibodies against the proteins bound to the phospholipid membranes. The antibodies are predominantly formed against beta-2-glycoprotein I (b2GPI) which is considered pathogenic, but presence of lupus anticoagulant is a predictor of thrombotic events. The thrombotic events in APS may manifest as venous or arterial or small vessel thrombosis in any tissue or organ and pregnancy related complications namely, recurrent (three or more) and early spontaneous miscarriages before 10 weeks of gestation or unexplained deaths of normal fetus at or beyond 10 weeks, eclampsia or severe pre-eclampsia, intra-uterine growth retardation and pre-term births. However, lately its role as an etiological mechanism in causation of certain neuro-psychiatric disorders has been put forth. It has been suggested that one should suspect APS in psychiatric manifestations which are atypical, resistant to treatment, associated with cognitive decline and dementia, abnormal involuntary movements, livedo reticularis, migraine, thrombotic events like stroke or transient ischemic attacks, obstetrical complications. In this brief communication, we describe the case of young male who has been suffering from treatment resistant and difficult to manage bipolar affective disorder (BPAD) with fluctuating thrombocytopenia and neurological findings with positive lupus anticoagulant. We propose it to be a consequence of an atypical presentation of APS.

Abstract
This is an updated review of child and adolescent somatic disorders associated with psychosis/psychotic symptoms, organized into neurologic, infectious, genetic, inborn errors of metabolism, autoimmune, rheumatologic, endocrine, nutritional, metabolic, and iatrogenic categories. When possible clinical manifestations or types of psychotic symptoms and proposed neuropathogenesis causing the neuropsychiatric symptoms are included. In some cases, the psychiatric symptoms may be the first presentation of the disease. The authors hope that this review will aid child and adolescent psychiatrists in considering alternative etiologies of youth presenting with psychosis and encourage appropriate physical examination, history, and further work-up when suspected.
