Abstract
Although pesticides are vital in agroecosystems to control pests, their indiscriminate use generates innumerable environmental problems daily. Groundwater and surface water networks are the most affected environmental matrices. Since these water basins are mainly used to obtain water for human consumption, it is a challenge to find solutions to pesticide contamination. For these reasons, development of efficient and sustainable remedial technologies is key. Based on their unique properties including high surface area, recyclability, environmental friendliness, tunable surface chemistry and low cost, nanoclays and derived minerals emerged as effective adsorbents towards environmental remediation of pesticides. This study provides a comprehensive review of the use of nanoclays and mineral derivatives as adsorbents for pesticides in water. For this purpose, the characteristics of existing pesticides and general aspects of the relevant clays and minerals are discussed. Furthermore, the study provides insightful discussion on the potential application of nanoclays and their derivatives toward the mitigation of pesticide pollution in the environment. Finally, the outlook and future prospects on nanoclay implications and their environmental implementation are elucidated.

Abstract
In this report, the preparation of solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) is performed from polyvinyl alcohol, methyl cellulose (PVA-MC), and ammonium chloride (NH4Cl) using solution casting methodology for its use in electrical double layer capacitors (EDLCs). The characterizations of the prepared electrolyte are conducted using a variety of techniques, including Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), electrical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), cyclic voltammetry (CV), and linear sweep voltammetry (LSV). The interaction between the polymers and NH4Cl salt are assured via FTIR. EIS confirms the possibility of obtaining a reasonably high conductance of the electrolyte of 1.99 × 10-3 S/cm at room temperature. The dielectric response technique is applied to determine the extent of the ion dissociation of the NH4Cl in the PVA-MC-NH4Cl systems. The appearance of a peak in the imaginary part of the modulus study recognizes the contribution of chain dynamics and ion mobility. Transference number measurement (TNM) is specified and is found to be (tion) = 0.933 for the uppermost conducting sample. This verifies that ions are the predominant charge carriers. From the LSV study, 1.4 V are recorded for the relatively high-conducting sample. The CV curve response is far from the rectangular shape. The maximum specific capacitance of 20.6 F/g is recorded at 10 mV/s.

Abstract
The focus of this paper is centered on the thermal reduction of KMnO4 at controlled temperatures of 400 and 800 °C. The materials under study were characterized by atomic absorption spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, average oxidation state of manganese, nitrogen adsorption-desorption, and impedance spectroscopy. The structural formulas, found as a result of these analyses, were K 0.29 + ( M n 0.84 4 + M n 0.16 3 + ) O 2.07 · 0.61 H 2 O and K 0.48 + ( M n 0.64 4 + M n 0.36 3 + ) O 2.06 · 0.50 H 2 O . The N2 adsorption-desorption isotherms show the microporous and mesoporous nature of the structure. Structural analysis showed that synthesis temperature affects the crystal size and symmetry, varying their electrical properties. Impedance spectroscopy (IS) was used to measure the electrical properties of these materials. The measurements attained, as a result of IS, show that these materials have both electronic and ionic conductivity. The conductivity values obtained at 10 Hz were 4.1250 × 10-6 and 1.6870 × 10-4 Ω-1cm-1 for Mn4 at 298 and 423 K respectively. For Mn8, the conductivity values at this frequency were 3.7074 × 10-7 (298) and 3.9866 × 10-5 Ω-1cm-1 (423 K). The electrical behavior was associated with electron hopping at high frequencies, and protonic conduction and ionic movement of the K+ species, in the interlayer region at low frequencies.
