Abstract
In response to growing concerns about public safety and environmental conservation, it is essential to develop a precise identification method for trace explosives. To improve the stability and detection sensitivity of perovskite quantum dots (PQDs) and address the issue of low porosity in traditional polymer-based photonic crystals (PhCs), this study proposed a PQD photoluminescence (PL) enhancement strategy based on the slow light effect of ZIF-8 PhCs for highly sensitive, selective, and convenient detection of 2,4,6-trinitrophenol (TNP). The slow light effect at the photonic band gap edge is the basis of amplifying the PL signal. PhCs were fabricated by the evaporation-induced self-assembly method. The diffraction wavelength overlapping the whole visible region was designed to match the emission wavelength of PQDs. Results showed that PhCs matching the PBG edge with PQDs' emission peak amplified the PL signal 11.3 times, significantly improving sensitivity for trace TNP detection with a limit as low as 2.52 nM. Moreover, there was a 13.3-fold enhancement of PQDs' fluorescence lifetime when the emission wavelength fell in the PBG range. The hydrophobic surface of ZIF-8 PhCs enhanced the PQDs' stability and moisture resistance. Furthermore, the selective quenching mechanism of TNP by the sensor was photoinduced electron transfer (PET) verified by DFT calculations and time-resolved PL decay dynamics measurements. This study demonstrated great potential for manipulating light emission enhancement by PhCs in developing efficient fluorescent sensors for trace environmental pollutant detection.

Abstract
2,4,6-Trinitrophenol (TNP) has high explosive risks and biological toxicity, and there has been considerable concern over the determination of TNP. In the present work, fluorescent carbon dots (CDs) stemmed from a green carbon source of pinecone by the facile hydrothermal approach. A novel environment- friendly fluorescent probe was developed to efficiently detect TNP by using the obtained CDs with remarkable fluorescence stability. The fluorescent CDs exhibited obvious excitation dependence with the highest peaks for excitation and emission occurring at 321 and 411 nm, respectively. The fluorescence intensity is significantly reduced by TNP owing to the inner filter effect with the CDs. The probe exhibited good linearity with TNP concentrations in the range of 0.025-20 μg mL-1, and the limit of detection was as low as 8.5 ng mL-1. Additionally, the probe proved successful in sensing TNP quantitatively in actual environmental samples with satisfied recoveries of 95.6-99.6%. The developed fluorescent probe offered an environment-friendly, efficient, rapid, and reliable platform for detecting trace TNP in the environmental field.HighlightsNovel carbon dots were synthesised from green precursors of pineal powder. The highly effective quenching process was put down to the inner filter effect. The as-constructed fluorescent probe was successfully utilised for sensing 2,4,6-trinitrophenol in environmental samples. The proposed method was simple, rapid, efficient, economical, and eco-friendly.

Abstract
Adsorption is a promising way to remove persistent organic pollutants (POPs), a major environmental issue. With their high porosity and vast surface areas, MOFs are suited for POP removal due to their excellent adsorption capabilities. This review addresses the intricate principles of MOF-mediated adsorption and helps to future attempts to mitigate organic water pollution. This review examines the complicated concepts of MOF-mediated adsorption, including MOF synthesis methodologies, adsorption mechanisms, and material tunability and adaptability. MOFs' ability to adsorb POPs via electrostatic forces, acid-base interactions, hydrogen bonds, and pi-pi interactions is elaborated. This review demonstrates its versatility in eliminating many types of contaminants. Functionalizing, adding metal nanoparticles, or changing MOFs after they are created can improve their performance and remove contaminants. This paper also discusses MOF-based pollutant removal issues and future prospects, including adsorption capacity, selectivity, scale-up for practical application, stability, and recovery. These obstacles can be overcome by rationally designing MOFs, developing composite materials, and improving material production and characterization. Overall, MOF technology research and innovation hold considerable promise for environmental pollution solutions and sustainable remediation. Desorption and regeneration in MOFs are also included in the review, along with methods for improving pollutant removal efficiency and sustainability. Case studies of effective MOF regeneration and scaling up for practical deployment are discussed, along with future ideas for addressing these hurdles.

Abstract
Developing new hybrid materials is critical for addressing the current needs of the world in various fields, such as energy, sensing, health, hygiene, and others. C-dots are a member of the carbon nanomaterial family with numerous applications. Aggregation is one of the barriers to the performance of C-dots, which causes luminescence quenching, surface area decreases, etc. To improve the performance of C-dots, numerous matrices including metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), covalent-organic frameworks (COFs), and polymers have been composited with C-dots. The porous crystalline structures, which are constituents of metal nodes and organic linkers (MOFs) or covalently attached organic units (COFs) provide privileged features such as high specific surface area, tunable structures, and pore diameters, modifiable surface, high thermal, mechanical, and chemical stabilities. Also, the MOFs and COFs protect the C-dots from the environment. Therefore, MOF/C-dots and COF/C-dots composites combine their features while retaining topological properties and improving performances. In this review, we first compare MOFs with COFs as matrices for C-dots. Then, the recent progress in developing hybrid MOFs/C-dots and COFs/C-dots composites has been discussed and their applications in various fields have been explained briefly.

Abstract
Carbon dots (CDs), a novel class of carbon-based nanoparticles, have received a lot of interest recently due to their exceptional mechanical, chemical, and fluorescent properties, as well as their excellent photostability and biocompatibility. CDs' emission properties have already found a variety of potential applications, in which bioimaging and sensing are major highlights. It is widely acknowledged that CDs' fluorescence and surface conditions are closely linked. However, due to the structural complexity of CDs, the specific underlying process of their fluorescence is uncertain and yet to be explained. Because of their low toxicity, robust and wide optical absorption, high chemical stability, rapid transfer characteristics, and ease of modification, CDs have been recognized as promising carbon nanomaterials for a variety of sensing applications. Thus, following such outstanding properties of CDs, they have been mixed and imprinted onto different polymeric components to achieve a highly efficient nanocomposite with improved functional groups and properties. Here, in this review, various approaches and techniques for the preparation of polymer/CDs nanocomposites have been elaborated along with the individual characteristics of CDs. CDs/polymer nanocomposites recently have been highly demanded for sensor applications. The insights from this review are detailed sensor applications of polymer/CDs nanocomposites especially for detection of different chemical and biological analytes such as metal ions, small organic molecules, and several contaminants.

Abstract
A magnetic nanoprobe was designed for imidacloprid by encapsulating nonconjugated polymer dots (NCPDs) and Fe3 O4 nanoparticles in the covalent organic framework (COF). The fluorescence intensity of the COF-based nanocomposite is markedly suppressed by imidacloprid. As the absorption spectrum of imidacloprid was close to the band-gap of the NCPDs, and due to the presence of a nitro group (as an electron acceptor), the electrons can be easily transferred from the conduction band of NCPDs to the LUMO of imidacloprid, so fluorescence quenching was more likely to have been caused by the electron transfer process. The COF-based nanosensor was used for the determination of imidacloprid in the linear range 1.3-130 nM with a detection limit of 1.2 nM. The high sensitivity of the nanoprobe for imidacloprid is due to the combination of COF benefits (accumulation of the imidacloprid into the COF cavities) and the high adsorption ability of the Fe3 O4 nanoparticles, which leads to further enrichment of imidacloprid. The magnetic nature of the nanocomposite enables the preconcentration and easy separation of the analyte, and so reduces matrix interference and lowers the detection limits. The practicality of this nanoprobe was confirmed by quantification of imidacloprid in the wastewater and fruit juice samples.

Abstract
Determination of ferri ions in environment and human bodies is very important for environmental protection and disease diagnosis. Recently, conjugated microporous polymers (CMPs) used for fluorescence sensing metal ions have attracted much attention, but this technique is done in organic solvents. In this study, the two new fluorescein-based CMPs named FLEDOT and FLBTh were synthesized by "greener method", direct arylation polymerization, with tetraiodofluorescein sodium salt (TIFS) and 3,4-ethylenedioxy thiophene or 2,2'-bithiophene. Pleasely, the prepared fluorescein-based CMPs can fluorescently sense for Fe3+ in water with high sensitivity and selectivity. The quenching constants (KSV) of FLEDOT and FLBTh are 1.51 × 104 and 1.09 × 104 L mol-1, and the limits of detection (LODs) as low as 1.99 × 10-10 and 2.75 × 10-10 mol L-1, which are comparable to the sensitivity found in organic solvents' dispersions such as N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF)' dispersions. UV-Vis absorption spectra show that the fluorescence quenching mechanisms of Fe3+ are absorption competition quenching process and energy transfer process.

Abstract
Picric acid (PA) is a lethal explosive substance that is easily soluble in water and harmful to the environment. Here, a supramolecular polymer material BTPY@Q[8] with aggregation induced emission (AIE) was prepared by supramolecular self-assembly of cucurbit uril (Q[8]) and 1,3,5-tris[4-(pyridin-4-yl) phenyl] benzene derivative (BTPY), which exhibited aggregation-induced fluorescence enhancement. To this supramolecular self-assembly, the addition of a number of nitrophenols was found to have no obvious effect on the fluorescence, however on addition of PA, the fluorescence intensity underwent a dramatic quench. For PA, BTPY@Q[8] had sensitive specificity and effective selectivity. Based on this, a quick and simple on-site visual PA fluorescence quantitative detection platform was developed using smart phones, and the platform was used to monitor temperature. Machine learning (ML) is a popular pattern recognition technology, which can accurately predict the results from data. Therefore, ML has much more potential for analyzing and improving sensing data than the widely used statistical pattern recognition method. In the field of analytical science, the sensing platform offers a reliable method for the quantitative detection of PA that can be applied to other analytes or micropollutant screening.

Abstract
The discovery of a series of coupling reactions between various building blocks has driven the development of porous organic polymers, but the common usage of expensive and air-sensitive organometallic catalysts and complex procedures in harsh syntheses has limited their expansion. A microporous hypercrosslinked polymer (HCP) was synthesized by polymerizing a naphthalene monomer and a 1,4-dimethoxybenzene crosslinker using Friedel-Crafts alkylation over an FeCl3 catalyst and imprinted with 3,5-dinitrosalicylic acid (DNS). The DNS-molecularly-imprinted HCPs (MIHCPs) were characterized as having IUPAC Type I mesoporosity, a specific surface area of 1134 m2 g-1, a monolayer adsorption capacity of 116 cm2 g-1, pore sizes ranging from 5 to 8.5 Å, amorphous frameworks, and distinctive absorption and emission bands by N2 adsorption/desorption analyses, scanning and transmission electron microscopies, and FTIR, UV-Vis, and fluorescence spectrometries. The π-conjugated imprinted framework endowed the MIHCPs with 405-nm fluorescent emission at a 330-nm excitation and dynamic quenching, which was confirmed by changes in fluorescence lifetime and followed a linear Stern-Volmer plot against 1.0-200 μM DNS template molecules under optimized conditions of a pH 7.0 buffer, an MIHCP concentration of 125 μg mL-1, and a 3.0-min equilibration time. The MIHCPs exhibited a high imprinted factor of 8.7 against nonimprinted HCP and a selectivity of 8.63 against reduced DNS, which enabled fluorometric detection of DNS molecules produced by the hydrolysis of starch with microbial, salivary, and pancreatic α-amylases and the subsequent redox incubation with the DNS oxidant. The fluorometric measurement of α-amylase activity was higher in accuracy and precision (RSD: 2.6-2.8% vs. 3.9-4.0%) than conventional UV-Vis spectrometry because the excellent fluorescent sensitivity and imprinting selectivity of the MIHCP probes enabled the use of higher dilution factors with weaker matrix effects.

Abstract
In this paper, we report the synthetic strategy of direct arylation polymerization (DAP) for four 2,2'-bithiophene-based conjugated microporous polymers (the 2,2'-BTh-based CMPs) by coupling 2,2'-bithiophene with the building blocks containing bromine. Compared to conventional coupling polymerization, this synthetic scheme is simple, facile and atomically efficient owing to neither preactivating the C-H bonds in 2,2'-bithiophene using organometallic reagents nor synthesis of complex thiophene-based building blocks. The resulting 2,2'-BTh-based CMPs exhibit excellent thermal stability, high specific surface areas, and good microporosity. Their specific surface areas are higher than that of other previously reported CMPs prepared with DAP. The four 2,2'-BTh-based CMPs can be utilized for multicolor fluorescence sensing of 2,4-dinitrophenol (DNP) with the high sensitivity and selectivity. The sensitivities appear to increase with the degree of structural distortion.

Abstract
Nitrophenols are important nitroaromatic compounds, both important environmental pollutants and dangerous explosives, posing a devastating danger and pollution threat to humans. It is vital to detect efficiently trace nitrophenols in the environment. In this contribution, a series of fully flexible cyclotriphosphazene-based COFs (FFCP COFs: HDADE, HBAPB, and HBPDA), prepared with both a flexible knot and flexible linkers of different lengths, were used for sensing 2,4,6-trinitrophenol (TNP) and p-nitrophenol (p-NP) in real time with excellent sensitivity and selectivity. The quenching constants of HDADE by TNP, HBAPB, and HBPDA by p-NP are 6.29 × 104, 2.17 × 105, and 2.48 × 105 L·mol-1, respectively. The LODs of TNP and p-NP are 1.19 × 10-11, 6.91 × 10-12, and 6.05 × 10-12 mol·L-1. Their sensitivities increase with the linker length, which is better than the corresponding COFs composed of rigid linkers. There is only a photoinduced electron transfer mechanism in the fluorescence quenching of HBPDA by p-NP. Meanwhile, the mechanisms of photoinduced charge transfer and resonance energy transfer exist in the fluorescence quenching of HDADE by TNP and the fluorescence quenching of HBAPB by p-NP.

Abstract
In this work, a nanocomposite suitable for long-term storage was constructed for efficient and highly selective detection of picric acid (PA). For this purpose, nitrogen-doped carbon dots (N-CDs) were synthesized by a simple hydrothermal reaction one-step method, and the synthesized nitrogen-doped carbon dots were loaded into amine-modified mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSN-NH2) to form N-CDs@MSN-NH2 nanocomposites. The as-synthesized N-CDs@MSN-NH2 was detected by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and the Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) analysis methods. After being coated with MSNs, the as-synthesized N-CDs@MSN-NH2 exhibits excellent photo-stability in storage for 60 days at room temperature. Furthermore, PA can significantly quench the fluorescence signal of N-CDs@MSN-NH2 through the fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) effect, while other metal ions and nitro compounds only cause little change. The a-synthesized composites were used to detect PA with a detection limit of 50 nM in an aqueous solution. These results indicate that the synthesized composites have promise for application in PA detection in aqueous solution.

Abstract
Roxarsone (ROX) as an organoarsenic feed additive has been widely used in livestock breeding and poultry industry, but ROX can degrade into highly toxic inorganic arsenic species in natural environments to threaten to the environment and human health. Therefore, there is a considerable interest in developing convenient, selective and sensitive methods for the detection of ROX in livestock breeding and poultry industry. In this work, a fluorescent molecularly imprinted polymer (MIPs) probe based on amino-modified Mn-ZnS quantum dots (QDs) has been developed by sol-gel polymerization for specific recognition of ROX. The synthesized MIPs-coated Mn-ZnS QDs (MIPs@Mn-ZnS QDs) have highly selective recognition sites to ROX because there are multi-interactions among the template ROX, functional monomer phenyltrimethoxysilane and the amino-functionalized QDs such as the π-π conjugating effect, hydrogen bonds. Under the optimal conditions, an obvious fluorescence quenching was observed when ROX was added to the solution, and the quenching mechanism could be explained as the photo-induced electron transfer. The MIPs@Mn-ZnS QDs sensor exhibited sensitive response to ROX in the linear range from 3.75 × 10-8 M to 6.25 × 10-7 M (R2 = 0.9985) and the limit of detection down to 4.34 nM. Moreover, the fluorescence probe has been applied to the quantitative detection of ROX in feed samples, and the recovery was in the range of 91.9% to 108.0%. The work demonstrated that the prepared MIPs@Mn-ZnS QDs probe has a good potential for rapid and sensitive determination of ROX in complicated samples.

Abstract
In this study, for the first time, surface molecularly imprinted magnetic covalent organic frameworks (Fe3O4@COFs@MIPs) were combined with disposable screen-printed electrode (SPE) to construct a portable and on-site electrochemical sensor for the rapid detection of tetracycline (TC). The Fe3O4@COFs@MIPs, which was prepared by layer-by-layer modification method, had good magnetism and excellent adsorption ability. With the help of disposable SPE, equipped with a magnet, the electrode modification process was simplified and the detection efficiency was improved. Under optimal conditions, the fabricated electrochemical sensor exhibited linearity ranging from 1 × 10-10 to 1 × 10-4 g mL-1. It had good selectivity, excellent reproducibility, desirable stability and remarkable applicability. The fabricated sensor was successfully applied to detect TC in real samples with satisfactory recoveries (96.15-106.20%). The detection strategy separated the recognition and adsorption process from the electrochemical detection process, providing a design idea for the application of COFs in the construction of high-efficiency molecularly imprinted electrochemical sensors.

Abstract
There is a critical need for the rapid detection of p-chlorophenol produced by pesticide abuse and industrial wastewater discharge, which has been an urgent problem in the realm of environmental protection. Here, a green and environmentally friendly method was developed to prepare stable and low toxicity quantum dots. First, blue-green fluorescent FeS2 quantum dots (B-FeS2 QDs) were prepared with FeCl3·6H2O (an iron source) and L-cysteine (a capping agent) by the solvothermal method. By combining B-FeS2 QDs with orange carbon dots (O-CDs), a CDs@SiO2/FeS2@MIPs visual fluorescence sensor for the selective detection of p-chlorophenol was constructed. Under optimum conditions, this sensor exhibited a detection limit of 1.265 μM with a linear range of 5.00-50.00 μM and was successfully applied to detect p-chlorophenol in real samples. Moreover, this sensor was successfully applied to visual semi-quantitative detection of p-chlorophenol. This work demonstrated that these sensors, based on FeS2 QDs and CDs, had potentials for in situ and visual detection of environmental contaminants.

Abstract
Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) have aroused great attention as a new material for the removal or detection of pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs). However, it is not clear about the superiority and deficiency of MIPs in the process of removing or detecting PPCPs. Herein, we evaluated the performance of MIPs in the aspects of adsorption capacity, binding affinity, adsorption rate, and compatibility to other techniques, and proposed ways to improve its performance. Without regard to the selectivity of MIPs, for the PPCPs adsorption, MIPs surprisingly did not always perform better than the conventional adsorbents (non-imprinted polymers, biochar, activated carbon and resin), indicating that MIPs should be used where selectivity is crucial, for example recovery of specific PPCPs in an environmental sample extraction process. Compared to the traditional solid-phase extraction for PPCPs detection pretreatment, the usage of MIPs as substitute extraction agents could obtain high selectivity of specific substance, due to the uniformity and effectiveness of the specific sites. A promising development in the future would be to combine other simple and rapid quantitative technologies, such as electro/photochemical sensor and catalytic degradation, to realize rapid and sensitive detection of trace PPCPs.

Abstract

Abstract
Methyl paraoxon (MP) has attracted more and more attention in recent years because of its severe neurotoxicity and respiratory toxicity. Therefore, it is very urgent to develop new and sensitive MP detection methods for health protection and public safety. Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are widely used in fluorescence detection because they can effectively transmit and amplify probe signals with multiple identical binding sites within an extended framework. Here, COFML-DHTA nanosheet material was synthesized by the solvothermal reaction of melem (ML) and 2,5-dihydroxyterephthalaldehyde (DHTA). The resulting COFML-DHTA exhibits remarkable luminescence quenching toward MP due to the relationship of competitive absorption and Förster resonance energy transfer between MP and COFML-DHTA. COFML-DHTA can be used for sensitive and selective detection of MP in a wide concentration range of 0.57 ng mL-1 to 30 μg mL-1 with a detection limit of 0.19 ng mL-1. The material has good chemical stability, excellent selectivity, good reusability and hydrophilicity, which provide more possibilities for COFs in the detection of pesticides.

Abstract
Carbon dots (CDs) have generated much interest because of their significant fluorescence (FL) properties, extraordinary photophysical attributes, and long-term colloidal stability. CDs have been regarded as a prospective carbon nanomaterial for various sensing applications because of their low toxicity, strong and broad optical absorption, high chemical stability, rapid transfer properties, and easy modification. To improve their functionality, CD/polymer composites have been developed by integrating polymers into CDs. CD/polymer composites have diversified because of their easy preparation and applications in sensing, optoelectronics, semiconductors, molecular delivery, and various commercial fields. Many review articles are available regarding the preparation and applications of CDs. Some review articles describing the production and multiple applications of the composites are available. However, no such article has focused on the types of precursors, optical properties, coating characteristics, and specific sensing applications of CD/polymer composites. This review aimed to highlight and summarize the current progress of CD/polymer composites in the last five years (2017–2021). First, we overview the precursors used for deriving CDs and CD/polymer composites, synthesis methods for preparing CDs and CD/polymer composites, and the optical properties (absorbance, FL, emission color, and quantum yield) and coating characteristics of the composites. Most carbon and polymer precursors were dominated by synthetic precursors, with citric acid and polyvinyl alcohol widely utilized as carbon and polymer precursors, respectively. Hydrothermal treatment for CDs and interfacial polymerization for CDs/polymers were frequently performed. The optical properties of CDs and CD/polymer composites were almost identical, denoting that the optical characters of CDs were well-maintained in the composites. Then, the chemical, biological, and physical sensing applications of CD/polymer composites are categorized and discussed. The CD/polymer composites showed good performance as chemical, biological, and physical sensors for numerous targets based on FL quenching efficiency. Finally, remaining challenges and future perspectives for CD/polymer composites are provided.

Abstract
The science of toxicology dates back almost to the beginning of human history. Toxic chemicals, which are encountered in different forms, are always among the chemicals that should be investigated in criminal field, environmental application, pharmaceutic, and even industry, where many researches have been carried out studies for years. Almost all of not only drugs but also industrial dyes have toxic side and direct effects. Environmental micropollutants accumulate in the tissues of all living things, especially plants, and show short- or long-term toxic symptoms. Chemicals in forensic science can be known by detecting the effect they cause to the body with the similar mechanism. It is clear that the best tracking tool among analysis methods is molecularly printed polymer-based analytical setups. Different polymeric combinations of molecularly imprinted polymers allow further study on detection or extraction using chromatographic and spectroscopic instruments. In particular, methods used in forensic medicine can detect trace amounts of poison or biological residues on the scene. Molecularly imprinted polymers are still in their infancy and have many variables that need to be developed. In this review, we summarized how molecular imprinted polymers and toxicology intersect and what has been done about molecular imprinted polymers in toxicology by looking at the studies conducted in the last 5 years.

[PMID: 34051994 DOI: 10.1016/j.aca.2021.338608] [Citation(s) in RCA: 4] [Impact Index Per Article: 1.0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Key Words] [Track Full Text] [Journal Information] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 03/10/2021] [Revised: 04/29/2021] [Accepted: 05/01/2021] [Indexed: 11/16/2022]
Abstract
Diltiazem, which is a calcium channel blocker, is involved in the formation of covalent organic frameworks (COFs) through the Schiff base reaction of tetrakis (4-aminophenyl)-porphine (TAPP) and dihydroxynaphthalene-dicarbaldehyde (DHNDC) and the next enol-to-keto tautomerization. The diltiazem-imprinted COFs (DICOFs) were optimally formed using Sc(OTf)3 as the catalyst, TAPP/DHNDC/diltiazem in a molar ratio of 2/3/4, N-methylpyrrolidone/mesitylene (v/v = 3/5) as the porogen, and a 1-h reaction with a high imprinting factor of 10.5 compared to the nonimprinted counterparts (NICOFs). The optimized DICOF exhibited a more amorphous XRD pattern, a larger surface area (1650 vs. 930 m2/g), a larger pore volume (1.33 vs. 0.75 cm3/g), and a finer porous SEM feature than NICOF. The selectivity of NICOF toward diltiazem and diazepam at 250 nM (α = 1.03, RSD = 1.3%) was smaller than the selectivity of DICOF (α = 2.94, RSD = 1.6%). The diltiazem samples (5.0-300 ng mL-1) dynamically quenched the fluorescence of 15 μg/mL DICOF in 50 mM phosphate buffer at pH 6.5 at 8.0 min equilibrium; thus, Stern-Volmer plots were linearly constructed for sensing diltiazem with an LOD of 3.4 ng mL-1 and an LOQ of 10.2 ng mL-1. According to the plots, 30 ng mL-1 diltiazem solutions that were diluted from 30 mg-specified tablets had an average measured concentration of 29.5 ng mL-1 (σ = 1.3% and n = 5). In addition to application as fluorescent sensors, DICOFs (30 mg) could be used as dispersive extractants to recover 95.2% of 0.6 ng mL-1 diltiazem from 25 mL phosphate buffer with quadruplicate uses of 0.5 mL methanol/acetic acid (v/v = 9/1) as the eluent. Langmuir and pseudo-second-order models were fitted to the isothermal and kinetic sorption mechanisms, respectively. The maximum sorption capacity of DICOF was ten times larger than that of NICOF (156 vs. 15.2 mg/g). The interday recoveries of 0.6 ng mL-1 spiked in 20-fold diluted human urine, and 60-fold diluted human serum were 93.2% and 90.6%, respectively.

Abstract
Aiming at enhancing the detection efficiency and identification accuracy of tetracycline under a high-temperature condition, this study focuses on an innovative fluorescent sensing system (MIP@CQD-PCM) based on molecularly imprinted phase-change microcapsules along with the carbon quantum dots (CQDs) embedded in their shell. This system was fabricated by microencapsulating n-eicosane as a phase change material (PCM) core within a CQDs-embedded SiO2 shell, followed by coating a tetracycline-templated molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) layer onto the surface of the SiO2 shell. The specific recognition sites to tetracycline molecules were finally achieved by removal of tetracycline template from the MIP layer. Comprehensive characterizations and investigations on the structure and performance of the fluorescent sensing system were given to confirm its successful fabrication in accordance to our design strategy. The resultant MIP@CQD-PCM exhibits a satisfactory thermal storage capacity and phase-change cycle stability for temperature regulation and thermal management applications under a phase-change enthalpy of over 162 J/g. Most of all, a typical fluorescence-quenching effect was obtained from the combination of the CQDs embedded in the SiO2 shell and the tetracycline molecules adsorbed in the MIP layer. This makes the MIP@CQD-PCM achieve an enhanced capability for the fluorescence identification of tetracycline in a high-temperature environment through the in situ thermal management of its PCM core. The MIP@CQD-PCM also displays high selectivity and good reusability for tetracycline detection in industrial applications. This work provides a promising strategy for the design and development of fluorescent sensing systems with high recognition efficiency and identification accuracy in the detection of hazardous substances.

Abstract
Timolol accompanied the formation of fluorescent β-ketoenamine-linked covalent organic frameworks (COFs) via the Sc(Tof)3-catalyzed condensation of derivated carbaldehyde and hydrazide in a 1,4-dioxane/mesitylene porogen to construct timolol-imprinted COFs (TICOFs). With high imprinting factors, the synthesis-optimized TICOFs were characterized by fluorescence, UV-Vis spectrometry, X-ray diffraction, N2 adsorption/desorption analyses, scanning electron microscopy, and FTIR spectrometry. The TICOF fluorescence measured at 390 nm/510 nm is dynamically quenched by timolol and was thus utilized to quantify timolol in a linear range of 25-500 nM with a LOD of 8 nM. The TICOF recovered 99.4% of 0.5% timolol maleate in a commercial eye drop (RSD = 1.1%, n = 5). In addition, TICOF was used as a dispersive sorbent to recover 95% of 2.0 nM timolol from 20 mg of TICOF in 25 mL phosphate buffer. Dilution factors of 25 and 75 were the maximum tolerated proportions of the urine and serum matrix spiked with 2.0 nM timolol to reach recoveries of 92.4% and 90.3%, respectively.

Abstract
A novel three-dimensional microporous terbium(III) metal-organic framework (Tb-MOF) named as [Tb10 (DBA)6(OH)4(H2O)5]·(H3O)4 (1), was successfully obtained by a solvothermal method based on terbium nitrate and 5-di(2',4'-dicarboxylphenyl) benzoic acid (H5DBA). The Tb-MOF has been characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, thermogravimetry, and fluorescence properties, and the purity was further confirmed by powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) analysis. Structural analysis shows that there are two kinds of metal cluster species: binuclear and tetranuclear, which are linked by H5DBA ligands in two μ7 high coordination fashions into a three-dimensional microporous framework. Fluorescence studies show that the Tb-MOF can detect H2O2, Fe3+, and Cr2O7 2- with high sensitivity and selectivity and can also be used for electrochemical detection of exposed 2,4,6-trinitrophenylamine (TPA) in water. The highly selective and sensitive detection ability of the Tb-MOF might make it a potential multifunctional sensor in the future.

Abstract
Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) based on polydatin were prepared by precipitation polymerization method. Synthesis process of MIPs was optimized by discussion of functional monomers, porogens and the molar ratio of template- functional monomer-cross linker. Then, MIPs were prepared with polydatin as the template, 4-vinyl pyridine as the functional monomer, ethylene glycol dimethyl acrylate as the cross linker, acetonitrile as the porogen and the molar ratio of template-monomer-cross linker at 1:10:20. Scanning electron microscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectrometer were used to inspect macroscale and chemical bond of MIPs. Adsorption capability and selectivity of MIPs to polydatin were investigated by carrying out the static, dynamic and selective experiments. The results showed MIPs performed high adsorption ability and selectivity to polydatin, indicating MIPs could be used to separate and enrich polydatin from the complex systems. Finally, MIPs were applied as the adsorbent for isolation and purification of polydatin from the extract of Polygoni Cuspidati Rhizoma et Radix, rats' plasma and urine samples. MIPs were successfully used to separate polydatin from the Polygoni Cuspidati Rhizoma et Radix and recovery ranged from 89.2% to 91.6%. The maximum concentration of polydatin in rats' plasma and urine samples was 2.84 ± 0.0748 µg mL-1 and 2.64 ± 0.485 µg mL-1, respectively. Moreover, to compare with the MIPs method, organic solvent methods were used to analyze the polydatin in rats' plasma and urine samples. The results illustrated MIPs method was effective and selective for enrichment of polydatin from the medicinal plants and biological samples.

Abstract
Nitrogen-doped carbon quantum dots (N-CQDs) with strong fluorescence were prepared by a one-step hydrothermal method using natural biomass waste. Two efficient fluorescent probes were constructed for selective and sensitive detection of oxytetracycline (OTC). The synthesized N-CQDs were characterized by UV-visible absorption spectra, fluorescence spectra, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray photon spectroscopy (XPS), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), which proved that the synthesized N-CQDs surface were functionalized and had stable fluorescence performance. The basis of N-CQDs detection of OTC was discussed, and various reaction conditions were studied. Under optimized conditions, orange peel carbon quantum dots (ON-CQDs) and watermelon peel carbon quantum dots (WN-CQDs) have a good linear relationship with OTC concentrations in the range of 2-100 µmol L-1 and 0.25-100 µmol L-1, respectively. ON-CQDs and WN-CQDs were both successfully applied in detecting the OTC in pretreated tap water, lake water, and soil, with the recovery rate at 91.724-103.206%, and the relative standard deviation was less than 5.35%. The results showed that the proposed N-CQDs proved to be green and simple, greatly reducing the detection time for OTC in the determination environment.

Abstract
2,4,6-Trinitrophenol (TNP) has absorbed much concerns because of its toxic effect and threat on the environment, which results from the fact that it is an important and universal reagent widely utilized for manufacturing many products. It is of great necessity to explore facile and efficient methods for monitoring TNP. In present study, carbon dots (CDs), a new carbonaceous nanomaterial with strong fluorescence, was applied to build a novel sensor for highly sensitive and selective detection of TNP. In the sensing procedure, the fluorescence intensity of as-prepared CDs was diminished with the presence of TNP due to inner filter effect (IFE) quenching mechanism. The sensitivity of the fluorescent sensor was very high with limit of detection down to 5.37 ng mL-1. This fluorescent sensor was evaluated and excellent spiked recoveries were gained, which demonstrated that the developed sensor would be a robust tool for environmental applications.
