Abstract
This study presents a novel class of pseudohomogeneous catalysts (PHC) based on carbon quantum dots functionalized with terpyridine ligands (CQDs-Tpy) to immobilize and stabilize palladium nanoparticles (Pd NPs). Extensive characterization techniques clearly confirmed the successful stabilization of Pd NPs on CQDs-Tpy. The effectiveness of the catalyst was demonstrated in the selective aerobic oxidation of primary and secondary of benzylic alcohols to aldehydes in the absence of additives and phase transfer catalyst (PTC). Remarkably, the reactions predominantly yielded aldehydes without further oxidation to carboxylic acids. By employing low catalyst loadings (0.13 mol%), high conversions (up to 89%) and excellent selectivity (> 99%) of the aldehyde derivatives were achieved. Moreover, the CQDs-Tpy/Pd NPs catalyst displayed suitable catalytic activity and recyclability, offering potential economic advantages. This promising approach opens up new opportunities in the field of catalysis for designing subnanometric metal-based PHCs.

Abstract
While understanding hydrogen uptake by organic based getters such as 1,4-bis(phenylethynyl)benzene (DEB) combined with a palladium(0)bis(dibenzylideneacetone) (Pd(dba)2) catalyst is essential, another crucial element to understand is the decomposition of the DEB, Pd(dba)2, and/or substrate material. The breakdown of these materials may create unwanted volatiles, which may interact with and lead to deterioration of sensitive materials. Moreover, it is critical to understand if different substrates cause the getter and/or catalyst to degrade in different manners. Utilizing comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography (GC×GC) with time-of-flight mass spectrometry (TOFMS), the presence of volatiles located in the headspace of various DEB/Pd(dba)2 getter substrates is examined. These samples include a getter infused silicone foam, a hydrogenated getter infused silicone foam, an activated carbon getter pellet, and a hydrogenated activated carbon getter pellet. Application of Fisher ratio (F-ratio) analyses lead to the identification of several compounds that are generated or consumed through the hydrogenation process. These include benzene derivatives such as bibenzyl, benzaldehyde, and vinyl benzoate in the activated carbon pellets and 1,5-diphenyl-3-pentanone, toluene, styrene, and 1-1'(2-pentene 1,5-diyl)bis benzene in the silicone foams, and alkane/alkene derivatives such undecane, 4-tridecene, and decane in the activated carbon pellets and 2,6-dimethyl undecane in the silicone foams. Further comparison of the different hydrogenated getter substrates (e.g. activated carbon pellet and silicone foam) indicates that the different substrates alter the decomposition products created from the degradation of the DEB and Pd(dba)2.

Abstract
High yield production of benzaldehyde in the solvent-free oxidation of benzyl alcohol by using green catalysts is highly desirable. In this work, calcium hydroxide derived from waste clamshell was used as low-cost and environmentally friendly catalyst support (CaSUP) for Pd and V nanoparticles. The physicochemical properties of the catalysts were analyzed using X-ray diffraction spectroscopy (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) technique, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The catalytic oxidation of benzyl alcohol to benzaldehyde was studied in a liquid phase reaction by using H2O2 as an oxidizing agent. The effects of catalyst loading, the molar ratio of hydrogen peroxide to benzyl alcohol, temperature and reaction duration were investigated. In the optimized conditions, Pd nanoparticles supported on clamshell-derived supports displayed excellent catalytic conversion (88%) and selectivity to benzaldehyde (89%). Furthermore, the catalyst can be effectively reused without a significant loss in its activity and selectivity. The high yield and stability can be related to the structural and basic properties of the catalyst. These results provide important insights into the benzyl alcohol oxidation process for industrial applications.

Abstract
A protocol for the ruthenium-on-carbon (Ru/C)-catalyzed solvent-free oxidation of alcohols, which proceeds efficiently under solid-solid (liquid)-gas conditions, was developed. Various primary and secondary alcohols were transformed to corresponding aldehydes and ketones in moderate to excellent isolated yields by simply stirring in the presence of 10% Ru/C under air or oxygen conditions. The solvent-free oxidation reactions proceeded efficiently regardless of the solid or liquid state of the substrates and reagents and could be applied to gram-scale synthesis without loss of the reaction efficiency. Furthermore, the catalytic activity of Ru/C was maintained after five reuse cycles.

Abstract
Phosphorus-doped carbon materials are promising alternatives to noble metal-based catalysts for the highly selective oxidation of benzyl alcohol to benzaldehyde, but it is challenging to achieve high loadings of high-activity P dopants in metal-free catalysts. Here, the preparation of high-loading and well-dispersed P atoms confined to the surfaces of cellulose-derived carbon via a dissolving-doping strategy is reported. In this method, cellulose is dissolved in phosphoric acid to generate a cellulose-phosphoric supramolecular collosol, which is then directly carbonized. The as-prepared carbon possesses a high specific surface area of 1491 cm3 g-1 and a high P content of 8.8 wt%. The P-doped nanoporous carbon shows a superior catalytic activity and cyclic stability toward benzyl alcohol oxidation, with a high turnover frequency of 3.5 × 10-3 mol g-1 h-1 and a low activation energy of 35.6 kJ mol-1 . Experimental results and theoretical calculations demonstrate that the graphitic C3 PO species is the leading catalytic active center in this material. This study provides a novel strategy to prepare P dopants in nanoporous carbon materials with excellent catalytic performance.

Abstract
We have reported an aerobic oxidation of primary and secondary alcohols to respective aldehydes and ketones using a bipyridyl-cinchona alkaloid based palladium catalytic system (PdAc-5) using oxygen at moderate pressure. The PdAc-5 catalyst was analysed using SEM, EDAX, and XPS analysis. The above catalytic system is used in experiments for different oxidation systems which include different solvents, additives, and bases which are cheap, robust, non-toxic, and commercially available on the industrial bench. The obtained products are quite appreciable in both yield and selectivity (70-85%). In addition, numerous important studies, such as comparisons with various commercial catalysts, solvent systems, mixture of solvents, and catalyst mole%, were conducted using PdAc-5. The synthetic strategy of oxidation of alcohol into carbonyl compounds was well established and all the products were analysed using 1H NMR, 13CNMR and GC-mass analyses.

Abstract
In this content, a green approach for the ultrasound promoted in situ immobilization of Pd NPs over biodegradable chitosan/agarose modified ferrite NP (Fe3O4@CS-Agarose/Pd) is developed. The structural and physicochemical features of the material were estimated using advanced analytical techniques like FT-IR, ICP-OES, FESEM, EDS, XRD, TEM and VSM. The magnetic material was catalytically explored in the oxidation of alcohols under ultrasonic waves. Sonication had a significant role in enhancing the catalytic performance in the alcohol's oxidation as compared to conventional heating. The heterogeneous nanocatalyst was efficiently recycled up to 10 times with nominal loss in catalytic activity. Towards the biological applications, the Fe3O4@CS-Agarose/Pd nanocomposite showed high antioxidant activities against DPPH free radicals, comparable to standard butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT). In addition, it exhibited excellent cytotoxicity in terms of % cell viability against breast adenocarcinoma (MCF7), breast carcinoma (Hs 578Bst), infiltrating ductal cell carcinoma (Hs 319.T), and metastatic carcinoma (MDA-MB-453) cell lines. The best anti-breast cancer potential of the nanocomposite was observed in Hs 319.T cell line.

Abstract
Development of sustainable routes to synthesize precious metal supported catalysts is of great importance because of their wide applications in the catalysis field. This paper reported a controllable and recyclable cation-assisted reduction route to fabricate a palladium nanoparticle supported catalyst. At 323 K, highly dispersed Pd/Al2O3-CARM was prepared through introducing M2+ (M = Mn, Zn or Cu) ions to promote the reduction of H2PdCl4 in ethylene glycol-water solution, and the residual filtrate after preparation could be recycled to prepare Pd/Al2O3 catalysts. A turnover frequency of 300 × 102 h-1 was obtained for Pd/Al2O3-CARMn in solvent-free aerobic oxidation of benzyl alcohol to benzaldehyde.
