On the molecular and supramolecular properties of N,N′-disubstituted iminoisoindolines: Synthesis, spectroscopy, X-ray structure and Hirshfeld surface analyses, and DFT calculations of two (E)-N,N′-bis(aryl)iminoisoindolines (aryl = 2-tert-butylphenyl or perfluorophenyl)

Synthesis, crystal structure and dielectric properties of a hybrid dihydrogen arsenate salt: (C9H11N4)H2AsO4

The use of the organic aromatic amine molecule 5-amino-3-methyl-1-phenyl-1H-1,2,4-triazole to synthesize a dihydrogen arsenate hybrid salt leads to a supramolecular structure type. Single crystals of (C9H11N4)H2AsO4 were grown through slow evaporation in solution. The synthesized compound crystallizes in the monoclinic system with the non-centrosymmetric P21 space group according to the following parameters; a = 9.655 (3) Å, b = 4.7090 (15) Å, c = 14.022 (4) Å, β = 108.147 (5)° and Z = 4. The mineral part building from dihydrogen arsenate anions [H2AsO4]− is linked together and to the organic cations [C9H11N4]+ by hydrogen bonds only. The results of Hirshfeld’s analysis show that in all possible molecular contacts, the hydrogen–hydrogen and the oxygen–hydrogen are the most important interaction in the crystal (37.5 and 31.9%, respectively). The Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) confirms the existence of vibrational modes corresponding to the organic amine molecule and mineral arsenate tetrahedron. The optimized molecular structure and the vibrational spectra were calculated by the density functional theory DFT methods and the semi-empirical PM3 calculations. Dielectric study of this compound has been measured in order to determine the electrical conductivity type giving rise to an activation energy of ΔEσ = 0.17 eV.

Growth, crystal structure, Hirshfeld surface and vibrational properties of a new supramolecular hybrid material: (C4H7N2)2TeBr6

A novel tellurium (IV) hybrid compound with 2-methylimidazole was prepared. The crystal was grown by slow evaporation method from aqueous solutions at room temperature giving birth to a new compound with formula (C4H7N2)2TeBr6. The structure was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. It crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group C 2/c, with the following parameters: a = 18.577(2)Å, b = 9.1497(10)Å, c = 13.5355(17)Å, α = 90°, β = 123.835(5)°, γ = 90° and Z = 8. The structure was solved with a final R = 0.044 for 2783 independent reflections. The crystal arrangement consists of [TeBr6]2− anions surrounded by [C4H7N2]2+ cations. The stability of the structure was ensured by hydrogen bonding contacts (N–H…Br) lengths that are in the range of 3.490–3.682 Å. The infrared spectra (FTIR) were recorded in the 4000–550 cm−1, confirming the existence of vibrational modes that correspond to the organic and inorganic groups. The crystal packing was stabilized mainly by Br…H (73.6%) interactions. Hirshfeld surface calculations were conducted to further investigate intermolecular interactions, associated 2D fingerprint plots and enrichment ratio, revealing the quantitatively relative contribution of these interactions in the crystal packing.

Prediction of explosive properties of newly synthesized amino nitroguanidine-based energetic complexes via density functional theory

Density functional theory calculations were performed to explore four octahedral energetic complexes including [CoCl₂ (ANQ)₂], [Co (ANQ)₂(H2O)₂]²⁺, [CuCl₂ (ANQ)₂], and [Cu(NO3)₂ (ANQ)₂], (ANQ = amino nitroguanidine). In this work, an attempt has been made to present useful structural data in order to investigate and predict the explosive properties of these complexes. In this regard, interaction energy (IE), natural bond orbital (NBO), atoms in a molecule (AIM) as well as the three-dimensional Hirshfeld surface analysis and the two-dimensional fingerprint plots, charge transfers, HUMO-LUMO gap, oxygen balance (%OB) amounts, and molecular electrostatic potential (MEP) maps were utilized to assign intermolecular interactions, bond lengths, the nature of metal-ligand bonds, and energies in subject compounds. The results reveal that among the five applied levels of theory, interaction energies obtaining from M06-2X/Def2TZVP were in excellent compliance with the experiments. Additionally, the N⋯O interaction, oxygen balance, density, and HOMO-LUMO gap were the most contributing factors in assigning sensitivity and detonation properties. In general, the sensitivity and detonation properties are increased in the following order: ANQ < complex1 < complex3 < complex2 < complex4. Graphical abstract.

Synthesis of a New Chloro Antimony Complex with Pyridinium Derivative: Crystal Structure, Hirshfeld Surface Analysis, Vibrational, and Optical Properties

The new organic–inorganic hybrid material (C6H7N2S)2[SbCl4]Cl was synthesized by slow evaporation method and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, infrared absorption, Hirshfeld surface analysis, optical absorption and photoluminescence measurements. The Centro symmetric compound crystallizes in the triclinic system of space group $${\text{P}}\bar{1}$$P1¯ with two formula units cell (Z = 2).The crystal structure is composed of a discrete [SbCl4]− anion and two isolated chloride Cl− anions which carried the same negative charge to balance the total charge of this compound surrounded by the 4 pyridiniumethioamide cations. Organic and inorganic parts which are linked by means of hydrogen bonding contacts N–H···Cl with N···Cl length are varied in the range of 3.221–3.456 Å to form a Zero-dimensional network. The infrared study performed at room temperature charge in the 4000–400 cm−1 frequency regions confirms the existence of the organic cation [C6H7N2S]+ and that of the [SbCl4]− anion. The Photoluminescence spectrum exhibits a broad and strong band of luminescence located at 1.95 eV (635 nm), which can be even observed with the naked eye at room temperature and is due to exaction emission. The various intermolecular interactions of the two independent cations and six chloride atoms were examined via Hirshfeld surface analysis.

2-Oxo-2H-chromen-7-yl 4-methylbenzoate

In the title compound, C17H12O4, the benzoate ring is oriented at an acute angle of 60.14 (13)° relative to the coumarin plane (r.m.s. deviation = 0.006 Å). This conformation is stabilized by an intramolecular C—H...O weak hydrogen bond, which forms a five-membered ring. Also present are π–π stacking interactions between neighbouring pyrone and benzene rings [centroid-to-centroid distances in the range 3.6286 (1)–3.6459 (1) Å] and C=O...π interactions [O...centroid distances in the range 3.2938 (1)–3.6132 (1) Å]. Hirshfeld surface analysis has been used to confirm and quantify the supramolecular interactions.

Crystal structure of 2-oxo-2H-chromen-7-yl 4-fluoro-benzoate

In the title compound, C16H9FO4, (I), the benzene ring is oriented at an acute angle of 59.03 (15)° relative to the coumarin plane (r.m.s deviation = 0.009 Å). This conformation of (I) is stabilized by an intra-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bond, which closes a five-membering ring. In the crystal, mol-ecules of (I) form infinite zigzag chains along the b-axis direction, linked by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Furthermore, the crystal structure is supported by π-π stacking inter-actions between neighbouring pyrone and benzene or coumarin rings [centroid-centroid distances in the range 3.5758 (18)-3.6115 (16) Å], as well as C=O⋯π inter-actions [O⋯centroid distances in the range 3.266 (3)-3.567 (3) Å]. The theoretical data for (I) obtained from quantum chemical calculations are in good agreement with the observed structure, although the calculated C-O-C-C torsion angle between the coumarin fragment and the benzene ring (73.7°) is somewhat larger than the experimental value [63.4 (4)°]. Hirshfeld surface analysis has been used to confirm and qu-antify the supra-molecular inter-actions.

Sonochemical synthesis of a novel nanoscale 1D lead(II) [Pb2(L)2(I)4]n coordination Polymer, survey of temperature, reaction time parameters

One new lead(II) coordination supramolecular complex (CSC) (1D), [Pb₂(L)₂(I)₄]_n, L  =  C₄H₆N₂ (1-methyl imidazole), has been synthesized under different experimental conditions. Micrometric crystals (bulk) or nano-sized materials have been obtained depending on using the branch tube method or sonochemical irradiation. All materials have been characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) and FT-IR spectroscopy. Single crystal X-ray analyses on complex 1 showed that Pb²⁺ ion is 4-coordinated. Topological analysis shows that the complex 1 is 2,3,5C2 net. Finally, the role of reaction time and temperature on the growth and final morphology of the structures obtained by sonochemical irradiation have been studied.

Crystal structure and Hirshfeld surface analysis of bis-(2,6-di-amino-pyridinium) tetra-chlorido-cobaltate(II)

In the title mol-ecular salt, (C5H8N3)2[CoCl4], the cations are protonated at their pyridine N atoms and the anion is an almost regular tetra-hedron. The crystal structure consists of alternating inorganic layers, built from tetra-chlorido-cobaltate anions, and organic layers formed by protonated cations of 2,6-di-amino-pyridinium. The crystal packing is governed by C/N-H⋯Cl hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between the organic and the inorganic ions and Cl⋯Cl inter-actions. Moreover, the cations show a π-π stacking inter-action [inter-centroid distance = 3.763 (2) Å]. The prevalence of these inter-actions is illustrated by an analysis of the three-dimensional Hirshfeld surface and by two-dimensional fingerprint plots.

Templated metalophilicity: synthesis of halometallic double salts directed by a dicopper(i) hydrazinyl-tetraimine nanocation

The solvothermal synthesis and crystal structures of a new class of luminescent inclusion double salts, exhibiting d¹⁰–d¹⁰ and d¹⁰–d⁵ metallophilicity, of the formula [Cu₂(dih)₂]₂[Cu_(4−y)M^yCl₈], where M is either Cu⁺ or heterometal of valency y (in this paper Mn²⁺ or La³⁺), are reported.
