Abstract
A new molecular structure 1 has been developed on naphthalimide motif. The amine and triazole binding groups have been employed at the 4-position of naphthalimide to explore the sensing behavior of molecule 1. Single crystal x-ray diffraction and other spectroscopic techniques confirm the identity of 1. Compound 1 exhibits high selectivity and sensitivity for Cu2+ ions in CH3CN. The binding of Cu2+ shows ∼ 70-fold enhancement in emission at 520 nm. The binding follows 1:1 interaction and the detection limit is determined to be 6.49 × 10-7 M. The amine-triazole binding site in 1 also corroborates the detection of F- through a colour change in CH3CN. Initially H-bonding and then deprotonation of amine -NH- in the presence of F- are the sequential steps involved in F- recognition with a detection limit of 4.13 × 10-7 M. Compound 1 is also sensible to CN- like F- ion and they are distinguished by Fe3+ ion. Cu2+-ensemble of 1 fluorimetrically recognizes F- among the tested anions and vice-versa. The collaborative effect of amine and triazole motifs in the binding of both Cu2+ and F-/CN- has been explained by DFT calculation.

Abstract
Due to the simplicity and low detection limit, fluorescent probes are widely used in both analytical sensing and optical imaging. Compared to conventional fluorescent probes, reversibility endows the reversible fluorescent probe outstanding advantages and special properties, making reversible fluorescent probes with capable of quantitative, repetitive or circulatory. Reversible fluorescent probes can also monitor the concentration dynamics of target analytes in real time, such as metal ions, proteins and enzymes, as well as intracellular redox processes, which have been widely applied in various fields. This review summarized the types and excellent properties of reversible fluorescent probes designed and developed in recent years. It also summarized the applications of reversible fluorescent probe in fluorescence imaging, biological testing, monitoring redox cycles, and proposed the remaining challenges and future development directions of the reversible fluorescent probe. This review provided comprehensive overview of reversible fluorescent probe, which may provide valuable references for the design and fabrication of the reversible fluorescent probe.

THE SCIENCE OF THE TOTAL ENVIRONMENT 2023; 884:163887. Abstract
Cellulose can be modified for the loading of functional groups such as amino groups, sulfydryl groups, and carboxyl groups. Cellulose-modified adsorbents generally have specific adsorption capacities for either heavy metal anions or cations, and possess the advantages of wide raw material source, high modification efficiency, high adsorbent recyclability, and great convenience in recovery of the adsorbed heavy metals. At present, preparation of amphoteric heavy metal adsorbents from lignocellulose has attracted great attention. However, the difference in efficiency of preparing heavy metal adsorbents by modification of various plant straw materials and mechanism for the difference remain to be further explored. In this study, three plant straws, including Eichhornia crassipes (EC), sugarcane bagasse (SB) and metasequoia sawdust (MS), were sequentially modified by tetraethylene-pentamine (TEPA) and biscarboxymethyl trithiocarbonate (BCTTC) to obtain amphoteric cellulosic adsorbents (EC-TB, SB-TB and MS-TB, respectively), which can simultaneously adsorb heavy metal cations or anions. The heavy metal adsorption properties and mechanism before and after modification were compared. Pb(II) and Cr(VI) removal rates by the three adsorbents were 2.2-4.3 folds and 3.0-13.0 folds of those before modification, respectively, following the order of MS-TB > EC-TB > SB-TB. In the five-cycle adsorption-regeneration test, the Pb(II) and Cr(VI) removal rate by MS-TB decreased by 58.1 % and 21.5 %, respectively. Among the three plant straws, MS possessed the most abundant hydroxyl groups and the largest specific surface area (SSA), and accordingly MS-TB had the highest load of adsorption functional groups [(C)NH, (S)CS and (HO)CO] and also the largest SSA among the three adsorbents, which contribute to its highest modification and adsorption efficiency. This study is of great significance for screening suitable raw plant materials to prepare amphoteric heavy metal adsorbents with superior adsorption performance.

Abstract
Synthesis of imidazole[2,1-b]benzothiazoles often suffers from the use of pre-functionalized substrates and/or homogeneous, non-recyclable catalytic systems. Herein we report a method for direct coupling of acetophenones and 2-aminobenzothiazoles in the presence of reusable perovskites, namely LaMn0.95Ni0.05O3. Imidazole[2,1-b]benzothiazoles were obtained in moderate to good yields and contained an array of useful functionalities. Control experiments indicated that the perovskites played pivotal roles in halogenation and condensation steps.

Abstract
Based on thieno[2,3-b]quinoline-2-carbohydrazide and salicylaldehyde, a novel fluorescent probe (L) was designed and synthesized. L could be used as a multifunctional sensor to sequentially detect In3+ and Fe3+ through fluorescence enhancement and fluorescence quenching in DMF/H2 O buffer solutions. At the same time, L had good anti-interference ability, which could still detect In3+ and Fe3+ well in the presence of other metal ions. For F- , it could be detected by enhancing the fluorescence change caused by the introduction of Al3+ . When other anions were present, the detection of F- would not be interfered. The detection limits of In3+ , Fe3+ and F- were 1.16×10-10 M, 2.03×10-8 M and 7.98×10-9 M, respectively. The complexation model and sensing mechanism between L and In3+ , Fe3+ and F- were confirmed by calculating structural optimization and energy optimization using Gaussian 09 software.

Abstract
An essential trace element copper plays several physiological roles in living systems. But at excess concentration, it exerts toxicity and becomes associated with numerous disorders. In this article, we have reviewed the recent developments (from 2017 to 2020) in the field of fluorescence-based chemosensors for the detection of Cu2+ ion. The sensing probes which were built to work through transfer of photo-induced electron (PET), excited-state intramolecular proton (ESIPT) and Förster resonance energy (FRET) mechanisms have been included in this review. Emphasis is given on the design, sensitivity and response of the probe molecules for the detection of Cu2+ ion. Using suitable examples, applications of these three recognition mechanisms for the probing of copper ion have been addressed.

Abstract
A new benzothiazole-based chemosensor BTN (1-((Z)-(((E)-3-methylbenzo[d]thiazol-2(3H)-ylidene)hydrazono)methyl)naphthalen-2-ol) was synthesized for the detection of Cu2+. BTN could detect Cu2+ with "off-on" fluorescent response from colorless to yellow irrespective of presence of other cations. Limit of detection for Cu2+ was determined to be 3.3 μM. Binding ratio of BTN and Cu2+ turned out to be a 1:1 with the analysis of Job plot and ESI-MS. Sensing feature of Cu2+ by BTN was explained with theoretical calculations, which might be owing to internal charge transfer and chelation-enhanced fluorescence processes.

Abstract
A simple hydroxyl-substituted triphenyl-imidazole based receptor (HTPI) which selectively detects Cu2+ ion by colorimetric and fluorimetric methods was developed. HTPI detects the Cu2+ ions with the absorption enhancement and fluorescence quenching by the possible ligand to metal charge transfer (LMCT) and the chelation-enhanced quenching (CHEQ) approaches, respectively. HTPI showed high selectivity and sensitivity for Cu2+ ions detection over other interfering and competing metal ions. Interestingly, HTPI detects Cu2+ ion (LOD) at nanomolar concentrations (19 × 10-9 M (UV-vis) & 27 × 10-9 M (fluorescence), respectively), which is lower than the permissible level of Cu2+ ion reported by World Health Organization (WHO). Furthermore, HTPI was applied to the molecular logic gate function by using chemical inputs, and Cu2+ ion was potentially removed (95%) via Capacitive Deionization technique.

Abstract
A novel activity-based Cu2+ fluorescent probe featuring multidentate binding sites was synthesized. It functions through chelation with Cu2+, which in turn specifically triggers hydrolysis of the probe to release a near-infrared emission with AIE + ESIPT properties. The probe was found to be capable of ratiometric imaging of Cu2+ in living HeLa cells.
