Abstract
Polydimethyl silicone rubber-based polymer composites filled with molybdenum and bismuth were fabricated using simple open mold cast technique. The physical and chemical structure and gamma shielding parameters like attenuation coefficient, half-value layer (HVL) thickness and relaxation length have been investigated for the said novel materials using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and gamma ray spectrometer. XRD study reveals the crystalline nature of the composites. It is evident from FTIR studies that there is no chemical interaction between the polymer matrix and filler particles. The results of attenuation studies reveal that the linear attenuation coefficient increases with addition of Bi and Mo and is found to be 0.653, 1.341 and 1.017, 1.793 and 0.102, 0.152 cm-1 for 1MMB and 2MMB polymer composites at 80, 356 and 662 keV gamma rays, respectively. The HVL thickness of the materials is found to be 1.06, 0.51 and 0.68, 0.38 and 6.73, 4.532 cm for 1MMB (20Mo + 10Bi phr) and 2MMB (40Mo + 20Bi phr) at these energies, respectively. The mass attenuation coefficient of the novel composites 1MMB and 2MMB is found to be higher than the conventional materials like lead and barite for 356 keV gamma rays. In addition, the material is found to be light weight and flexible enabling to be molded in required forms, thus being a substitute for the material lead that is known to be heavy and toxic by nature.

Abstract
Medical shielding suits must be lightweight and satisfy the requirements of thin films to guarantee user mobility and safety. The thin film weight is related to the density and thickness, which are associated with the particle dispersion in shielding materials. An even distribution of metal particles in a polymer can maintain the spacing among them. This paper proposes a pencil beam spray-coating method that involves spraying a constant amount of a polyethylene and tungsten mixture in a thin beam onto a nonwoven fabric at a constant speed. This technique yields higher productivity than does the electrospinning method and is expected to produce materials with better shielding performance than that of materials obtained using the calender method. The shielding performance was evaluated by manufacturing shielding sheets (thickness: 0.48-0.54 mm) using the calender and pencil beam spray-coating methods under the same conditions. The densities and performances of the sheets differed significantly. The sheet manufactured using the proposed method had an even particle dispersion and exhibited 2-4% better shielding performance than did that manufactured using the calender method. Therefore, the pencil beam spray-coating method can effectively satisfy the requirements of thin films for medical radiation-shielding materials while increasing the material flexibility.

Abstract
Cancer is a disease associated with complex pathology and one of the most prevalent and leading reasons for mortality in the world. Current chemotherapy has challenges with cytotoxicity, selectivity, multidrug resistance, and the formation of stemlike cells. Nanomaterials (NMs) have unique properties that make them useful for various diagnostic and therapeutic purposes in cancer research. NMs can be engineered to target cancer cells for early detection and can deliver drugs directly to cancer cells, reducing side effects and improving treatment efficacy. Several of NMs can also be used for photothermal therapy to destroy cancer cells or enhance immune response to cancer by delivering immune-stimulating molecules to immune cells or modulating the tumor microenvironment. NMs are being modified to overcome issues, such as toxicity, lack of selectivity, increase drug capacity, and bioavailability, for a wide spectrum of cancer therapies. To improve targeted drug delivery using nano-carriers, noteworthy research is required. Several metal-based NMs have been studied with the expectation of finding a cure for cancer treatment. In this review, the current development and the potential of plant and metal-based NMs with their effects on size and shape have been discussed along with their more effective usage in cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Abstract
This work synthesized Pt-doped dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSC) with different molar ratios and thicknesses. The materials were revealed fully through X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The photovoltaic properties of the sample were studied by UV-visible spectroscopy, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and IPEC (incident photon-to-current conversion efficiency) techniques. EIS analysis established the decrease in series resistance at the electrolyte interface. It could be one of the reasons for the increase in electron transfer rate and decrease in the recombination process at the interface. Statistical data obtained from optical and electrical investigations revealed that the electrical power-output efficiency of DSSC was 14.25%. It was found that a high ratio of Pt doping and thinner thickness can promote cell performance, owing to the reduction of series resistance, lower bandgap, and high dye adsorption. Doping TiO2 with Pt reduced its energy bandgap and introduces intermediate energy levels inside TiO2 to facilitate the transition of electrons at low excitation energies. The absorbance of the samples 0.15 M Pt and 0.25 M Pt showed improvement in the wavelength ranging from 200 to 800 nm by Pt doping.

Abstract
In this study, three different sliding bearing alloy samples were investigated in terms of their performance on attenuation characteristics and behavioral attitudes under 0.015-15 MeV gamma-ray exposure. Accordingly, different types of advanced calculation methods were utilized to calculate the radiation shielding parameters. Next, several gamma-ray shielding parameters and exposure rates in addition to fast neutron removal cross-section were determined. Furthermore, exposure and energy absorption buildup factors were determined by using G-P fitting method. Mass attenuation coefficients (MAC) values were recorded as 2.5246, 2.5703, and 2.5827 (cm2/g) for Alloy1, Alloy2, and Alloy3 samples at 15 MeV photon energy, respectively. At 40 mfp, the highest EBF values were reported as 1,376,274, 1,003,593, and 969,373 for Alloy1, Alloy2, and Alloy3 samples. The results of this extended investigation showed that the Alloy3 sample with the highest Pb reinforcement amount has superior shielding capability among the investigated samples. It can be concluded from the results that substitution of Pb with Bi in the recent alloy structure has a monotonic effect on different types of shielding parameters. Therefore, it can also be concluded that Pb is a remarkable tool for the improvement of the shielding properties of studied alloy structures.

Abstract
Medical imaging phantoms are considered critical in mimicking the properties of human tissue for calibration, training, surgical planning, and simulation purposes. Hence, the stability and accuracy of the imaging phantom play a significant role in diagnostic imaging. This study aimed to evaluate the influence of hydrogen silicone (HS) and water (H2O) on the compression strength, radiation attenuation properties, and computed tomography (CT) number of the blended Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) samples, and to verify the best material to simulate kidney tissue. Four samples with different compositions were studied, including samples S1, S2, S3, and S4, which consisted of PDMS 100%, HS/PDMS 20:80, H2O/PDMS 20:80, and HS/H2O/PDMS 20:40:40, respectively. The stability of the samples was assessed using compression testing, and the attenuation properties of sample S2 were evaluated. The effective atomic number of S2 showed a similar pattern to the human kidney tissue at 1.50 × 10−1 to 1 MeV. With the use of a 120 kVp X-ray beam, the CT number quantified for S2, as well measured 40 HU, and had the highest contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) value. Therefore, the S2 sample formulation exhibited the potential to mimic the human kidney, as it has a similar dynamic and is higher in terms of stability as a medical phantom.

This study aimed to perform an extensive characterization of a 74.75TeO2–0.25V2O5–(25 − x)B2O3-xNd2O3 glass system with (x = 0, 0.5, 1.0, and 1.5 mol%) for radiation shielding properties. Linear and mass attenuation coefficients were determined using Phy-X PSD software and compared with the simulation using Monte Carlo software MCNPX (version 2.7.0). Half value layer, mean free path, tenth value layer, effective atomic number, exposure buildup factor, and energy absorption buildup factors of VTBNd0.0, VTBNd0.5, VTBNd1.0, and VTBNd1.5 glasses were determined, respectively. The results showed that boron (III) oxide and neodymium (III) oxide substitution has an obvious impact on the gamma ray attenuation properties of the studied glasses. It can be concluded that the VTBNd1.5 sample with the highest content of neodymium (III) oxide (1.5 mol%) is the superior sample for shielding of gamma radiation in the investigated energy range.

Abstract
In the present work, aiming to collaborate in the removal of Bypass Cement Dust (BCD) from the environment, we studied a system consisting of three glasses prepared from analytical reagent grade chemicals with the following composition: 20Na2O-20BaCl2-(60-x)B2O3-xBCD, where (x = 0, 10, and 20 %). BCD is an important contributor of many respiratory human health issues. In this work we investigate their optical, physical and gamma-ray shielding properties. The experimental results of mass attenuation coefficients are contrasted with the FLUKA Monte Carlo code and the XCOM database at 0.081, 0.356, 0.662, 1.173, and 1.332 MeV photon energies. Additionally, the mechanical, structural, and optical properties of these glasses were measured. A rising peak with an increase of BCD concentration in the region from 450 cm-1 to 480 cm-1 was observed. The results show that shielding properties such as the mass attenuation coefficient (μm), the effective atomic number (Zeff), and the effective electron density (Nel) increase as BCD fraction increases. The half value layer (HVL), the tenth value layer (TVL), and the mean free path (MFP) decrease as the BCD content increases. It is noticed that 20Na2O-20BaCl2-(60-x)B2O3-xBCD, where (x = 0, 10, and 20 %), has the highest optical conductivity value at x = 20%. It was found that the gradual addition of BCD content increases the hardness of the studied glasses.
