Abstract
This work aims at developing a strategy to activate the antigen-presenting cells to enhance the effect of immunotherapy in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) through the dissolving microneedle patch (DMNP). In present study, mannosylated chitosan (MCS) nanoparticles (NPs) were designed to target dendritic cells (DCs), and the immunotherapy effect was enhanced by the adjuvant Bacillus Calmette-Guerin polysaccharide (BCG-PSN), achieving the purpose of transdermal immunotherapy for TNBC. Vaccination studies with mice demonstrated that MCS NPs effectively induce DCs maturation in the tumor-draining lymph nodes to stimulate strong immune responses in TNBC. Overall, chitosan-based DMNPs with complex adjuvant constituted a new potent transdermal vaccine delivery platform capable of exploiting more DCs in the skin for effective immunization.

Abstract
Bacillus Calmette-Guérin polysaccharide and nucleic acid (BCG-PSN), extracted from Mycobacterium bovis, is an immunoregulatory medicine commonly used in clinic. However, the structural characteristics and potential pharmacological efficacy of the polysaccharides from BCG-PSN remain unclear. Herein, two polysaccharides (BCG-1 and BCG-2) were purified and their structures were characterized. Monosaccharide composition analysis combined with methylation analysis and NMR data indicated that BCG-1 and BCG-2 were an α-D-(1→4)-mannan with (1→2)-linked branches, and an α-D-(1→4)-glucan with (1→6)-linked branches, respectively. Herein, the mannan from BCG-PSN was first reported. Bioactivity assays showed that BCG-1 and BCG-2 dose-dependently and potently increased the production of inflammatory mediators (NO, TNF-α, IL-6, IL-1β, and IL-10), as well as their mRNA expressions in RAW264.7 cells; both have similar or stronger effects compared with BCG-PSN injection. These data suggest that BCG-1 and BCG-2 are very likely the active ingredients of BCG-PSN.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Many therapeutic modalities are available for treatment of warts, but no single therapy is universally effective. Photodynamic therapy (PDT) using intralesional methylene blue (MB) followed by intense pulsed light (IPL) could be a successful option for treatment by several mechanisms. METHODS This prospective randomized controlled trial was carried out on eighty patients with verrucae. Patients were randomized into three groups; group A (30 patients) received MB/IPL/PDT sessions, group B (30 Patients) received IPL sessions, and group C (control). Response was assessed by clinical and dermoscopy score (0,1, 2, or 3 according to extent of clinical and dermoscopic resolution), cure rate (percent of verrucae clinically and dermoscopy cleared), and imageJ analysis (surface area of wart and haemorrhagic structures or vessels). RESULTS Clinical and dermoscopic clearance was achieved in 43.3% and 20% of patients in groups A and B respectively. Cure rate was 40.9% for group A compared to 23.4% for group B. ImageJ analysis revealed more reduction of surface area in group A being 80.05 ± 27.12% for verrucae and 89.28 ± 19.19% for vessels and haemorrhagic dots compared to 48.16 ± 34.21% and 65.99 ± 30.58% in group B. CONCLUSIONS MB/IPL/PDT is an effective option for treatment of warts with a success rate of around 40%, based on clinical and dermoscopic assessment. The efficacy was found to be higher on using imageJ utilizing both the surface area of the wart and surface area of vessels and haemorrhagic dots with the latter being more effected by treatment.

Abstract
Verruca plana, also known as flat wart, is a common viral skin infection by human papillomavirus types 3, 10, 28 and 41. It's mostly prevalent on the facial area of children and young adults, becoming a heavy cosmetic burden on these patients. In this study, we report 6 cases of verruca plana predominantly affecting the visage, which are treated with 10% 5-aminolevulinic acid-based photodynamic therapy (ALA-PDT). In general, all 6 patients showed complete clearance of lesions 1 month after treatment. And clearance of lesions sustained in 4 out of 6 patients for at least 12 months after treatment. The results of this study suggest that ALA-PDT could be an effective treatment modality for verruca plana, especially for cases recalcitrant to other treatments. Nevertheless, more measures should be taken to prevent PDT-related adverse events.

Abstract
Bacillus Calmette-Guerin polysaccharide nucleic acid (BCG-PSN) is a relatively new generation, bacteria lipopolysaccharide fraction extracted from BCG vaccine. It has a strong immunomodulatory effect with higher efficacy and fewer side effects. To assess the clinical efficacy and safety of BCG-PSN vs the viable BCG vaccine in treatment of multiple warts. One hundred twenty patients with warts were allocated into three groups each containing 40 patients. Each group received intralesionally 0.1 mL of BCG-PSN, BCG vaccine, saline in group A, B, and C, respectively, for a maximum of five sessions, 3 weeks apart. Complete response occurred in 77.5% of group A vs 63.8% in group B. Partial response detected in 7.9% of control group (P < .0001). The distant warts showed 72.5% complete clearance in group A compared to 58.3% in group B (P = .19). Group A showed fewer number of sessions (P = .03) and earlier response than group B (P = .0003). A significant increase in the frequency of adverse effects was found among group B than group A (P < .0001). No recurrence was seen in both groups. BCG-PSN immunotherapy has a higher therapeutic efficacy with almost no serious side effects compared to the BCG vaccine in warts therapy.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Plane warts, mostly found on the face, present a challenge to treat as most destructive methods can lead to unpleasant cosmetic outcome. Alternative therapeutic methods should be evaluated. The aim of this study is to evaluate the clinical efficacy and adverse effects of photodynamic therapy with methylene blue and intense pulsed light in comparison to candida antigen immunotherapy in the treatment of plane warts. METHODS The study included 39 patients with plane warts assigned into 3 groups. Group I received photodynamic therapy using methylene blue followed by IPL illumination, group II received immunotherapy using 0.1 ml of candida albicans antigen and group III received 0.1 ml saline as a control. RESULTS Complete response was detected in (46.1%) of patients in group I compared to (61.5%) in group II and no response in group III. CONCLUSION Candida antigen immunotherapy is superior to photodynamic therapy in plane warts treatment with absence of recurrence and comparable side effects in both groups.

Abstract
Verruca plana is a kind of benign proliferative skin disease that generally occurs in exposed parts, but the treatment of warts poses a therapeutic challenge for physicians, as there is no method, among numerous approaches, that has been proven effective for completely curing this disease. We report a case of verruca plana cured by narrow-band ultraviolet B (NB-UVB), which provides a new treatment of verruca plana.
