Abstract
A vast variety of chemical compounds have been fabricated and commercialized, they not only result in industrial exposure during manufacturing and usage, but also have environmental impacts throughout their whole life cycle. Consequently, attempts to assess the risk of chemicals in terms of toxicology have never ceased. In-silico toxicology, also known as predictive toxicology, has advanced significantly over the last decade as a result of the drawbacks of experimental investigations. In this study, ProTox-III was applied to predict the toxicity of the ligands used for metal-organic framework (MOF) design and synthesis. Initially, 35 ligands, that have been frequently utilized for MOF synthesis and fabrication, were selected. Subsequently, canonical simplified molecular-input line-entry system (SMILES) of ligands were extracted from the PUBCHEM database and inserted into the ProTox-III online server. Ultimately, webserver outputs including LD50 and the probability of toxicological endpoints (cytotoxicity, carcinogenicity, mutagenicity, immunotoxicity, and ecotoxicity) were obtained and organized. According to retrieved LD50 data, the safest ligand was 5-hydroxyisophthalic. In contrast, the most hazardous ligand was 5-chlorobenzimidazole, with an LD50 of 8 mg/kg. Among evaluated endpoints, ecotoxicity was the most active and was detected in several imidazolate ligands. This data can open new horizons in design and development of green MOFs.

Abstract
The increasing energy demands in society and industrial sectors have inspired the search for alternative energy sources that are renewable and sustainable, also driving the development of clean energy storage and delivery systems. Various solid-state materials (e.g., oxides, sulphides, polymer and conductive nanomaterials, activated carbon and their composites) have been developed for energy production (water splitting-H2 production), gaseous fuel (H2 and CH4) storage and electrochemical energy storage (batteries and supercapacitors) applications. Nevertheless, the low surface area, pore volume and conductivity, and poor physical and chemical stability of the reported materials have resulted in higher requirements and challenges in the development of energy production and energy storage technologies. Thus, to overcome these issues, the development of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) has attracted significant attention. MOFs are a class of porous materials with extremely high porosity and surface area, structural diversity, multifunctionality, and chemical and structural stability, and thus they can be used in a wide range of applications. In the present review, we precisely discuss the interesting properties of MOFs and the various methodologies for their synthesis, and also the future dependence on the valorization of solid waste for the recovery of metals and organic ligands for the synthesis of new classes of MOFs. Subsequently, the utilization of these interesting characteristics for energy production (water splitting), storage of gaseous fuels (H2 and CH4), and electrochemical storage (batteries and supercapacitors) applications are described. However, although MOFs are efficient materials with versatile uses, they still have many challenges, limiting their practical applications. Therefore, finally, we highlight the challenges associated with MOFs and show the way forward in overcoming them for the development of these highly porous materials with large-scale practical utility.

Abstract
In this study, a Co-MOF was synthesized via a co-precipitation procedure and then used as support for stabilizing Ag ions and producing Co-MOF@Ag2O nanocomposite by microwave irradiation. The characterization of synthesized Co-MOF@Ag2O nanocomposite was performed by using different techniques such as field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) analyses, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) and Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR). The prepared Co-MOF@Ag2O nanocomposite was applied as a heterogeneous nano-catalyst in the synthesis of pyrazolopyranopyrimidines in water at 50 °C via the one-pot multicomponent reaction of ethyl acetoacetate, hydrazine hydrate, aromatic aldehydes and barbituric acid derivatives. Through this straightforward and effective protocol, different tricyclic fused pyrazolopyranopyrimidines were synthesized at high yields, and short reaction times, through an uncomplicated work-up process with no by-product. The Co-MOF@Ag2O nanocomposite has been effectively recycled for four consecutive cycles without appreciable loss in its activity. Cost-effectiveness, no need for column chromatography, mild conditions, catalyst recyclability, and eco-friendly nature make it a promising candidate compared to other methods.

Abstract
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are coordination compounds with tuneable structures and controllable functions. However, the biological toxicity of traditional MOFs materials is often inevitable, making their application in the biological field have many limitations. Therefore, frontier research increasingly focuses on developing biocompatible MOFs materials. Cyclodextrins (CDs), derived from starch, are favored by various biomaterials due to their good biosafety and are often seen in the preparation and application of MOFs materials. This review describes the features of MOFs materials, and the various preparation methods of CD-MOFs are analyzed in detail from the perspective of CD classification. Additionally, the promising applications of CD-MOFs materials for delivery, detection, separation, and capture of active molecules in recent studies are systematically discussed and summarized. In terms of safety, the CD-MOFs materials are meticulously summarized. Finally, this review presents the challenges and future prospects regarding the current CD-MOFs-based materials, which will shed new light on the application of such materials in various fields.

Abstract
A new Zn(II) coordination polymer based on o-phthalato (Phth) and 2-aminopyridine (2-Ampy) viz. {[Zn(2-Ampy)2(Phth)]∙(H2O)]}n (1) has been synthesized at room temperature and characterized by elemental analyses, electronic spectroscopy, FT-IR spectroscopy, thermal analysis (TGA/DSC), powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The basic trimeric units of 1 form a polymeric chain by N-H⋯O and π⋯π interactions. These polymeric chains interconnect through various non-covalent interactions in two perpendicular directions to ultimately give rise to a 3D architecture of 1. The interesting non-covalent interactions in 1, contributing to its stability in the solid state are studied by Hirshfeld surface analysis and other different theoretical tools. Molecular docking study of 1 is performed against six different proteins of SARS-CoV-2. The drug potential of the synthesized compound is evaluated by ADMET calculations.

Abstract
Introducing new materials with low cost and superior solar harvesting efficiency requires urgent attention to solve energy and environmental challenges. Titanium carbide (Ti3C2T x ) MXene, a 2D layered material, is a promising solution to solve the issues of existing materials due to their promising conductivity with low cost to function as a cocatalyst/support. On the other hand, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are emerging materials due to their high surface area and semiconducting characteristics. Therefore, coupling them would be promising to form composites with higher solar harvesting efficiency. Thus, the main objective of this work to disclose recent development in Ti3C2T x -based MOF nanocomposites for energy conversion applications to produce renewable fuels. MOFs can generate photoinduced electron/hole pairs, followed by transfer of electrons to MXenes through Schottky junctions for photoredox reactions. Currently, the principles, fundamentals, and mechanism of photocatalytic systems with construction of Schottky junctions are critically discussed. Then the basics of MOFs are discussed thoroughly in terms of their physical properties, morphologies, optical properties, and derivatives. The synthesis of Ti3C2T x MXenes and their composites with the formation of surface functionals is systematically illustrated. Next, critical discussions are conducted on design considerations and strategies to engineer the morphology of Ti3C2T x MXenes and MOFs. The interfacial/heterojunction modification strategies of Ti3C2T x MXenes and MOFs are then deeply discussed to understand the roles of both materials. Following that, the applications of MXene-mediated MOF nanotextures in view of CO2 reduction and water splitting for solar fuel production are critically analyzed. Finally, the challenges and a perspective toward the future research of MXene-based MOF composites are disclosed.

Abstract
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are broadly known as porous coordination polymers, synthesized by metal-based nodes and organic linkers. MOFs are used in various fields like catalysis, energy storage, sensors, drug delivery etc., due to their versatile properties (tailorable pore size, high surface area, and exposed active sites). This review presents a detailed discussion of MOFs as an electrochemical sensor and their enhancement in the selectivity and sensitivity of the sensor. These sensors are used for the detection of heavy metal ions like Cd2+, Pb2+, Hg2+, and Cu2+ from groundwater. Various types of organic pollutants are also detected from the water bodies using MOFs. Furthermore, electrochemical sensing of antibiotics, phenolic compounds, and pesticides has been explored. In addition to this, there is also a detailed discussion of metal nano-particles and metal-oxide based composites which can sense various compounds like glucose, amino acids, uric acid etc. The review will be helpful for young researchers, and an inspiration to future research as challenges and future opportunities of MOF-based electrochemical sensors are also reported.

Abstract
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are a polymer hybrid family of compounds comprising metal ions that have been deliberately incorporated in organic ligands to form several multi-dimensional structures with unique structural and functional attributes. They have the typical properties of brittleness, major porosity, and randomly crystalline. These three factors hampered their potential incorporation into modern technologies. However, with the discovery of their polymers, hope was rekindled. Polymers, unlike their counterparts, are versatile and malleable and can be tailored into solids with a wide range of technical applications. MOFs can be effectively incorporated into polymer structures, resulting in polymers with enhanced properties and increased demand, according to recent studies. This review focuses on the synthetic procedures of MOFs used to create hybrid materials, as well as their potential environmentally related applications. Desalination, hazardous heavy metal removal and mitigation, gas and liquid separations and purifications, and dye removal will all be extensively discussed as applications. To assemble this review, we will add insight from recent papers and discoveries, as well as seminal reports from experts on the advancement of MOF-polymers.

Abstract
Novel NaCoxOy adsorbents were fabricated by air calcination of (Na,Co)-organic frameworks at 700 °C. The NaCoxOy crystallized as hexagonal microsheets of 100-200 nm thickness with the presence of some polyhedral nanocrystals. The surface area was in the range of 1.15-1.90 m2 g-1. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis confirmed Co2+ and Co3+ sites in MOFs, which were preserved in NaCoxOy. The synthesized adsorbents were studied for room-temperature H2S removal in both dry and moist conditions. NaCoxOy adsorbents were found ~ 80 times better than the MOF precursors. The maximum adsorption capacity of 168.2 mg g-1 was recorded for a 500 ppm H2S concentration flowing at a rate of 0.1 L min-1. The adsorption capacity decreased in the moist condition due to the competitive nature of water molecules for the H2S-binding sites. The PXRD analysis predicted Co3S4, CoSO4, Co3O4, and Co(OH)2 in the H2S-exposed sample. The XPS analysis confirmed the formation of sulfide, sulfur, and sulfate as the products of H2S oxidation at room temperature. The work reported here is the first study on the use of NaCoxOy type materials for H2S remediation.

Abstract
Hydrogenation of carbon dioxide (CO2) to formic acid by the enzyme formate dehydrogenase (FDH) is a promising technology for reducing CO2 concentrations in an environmentally friendly manner. However, the easy separation of FDH with enhanced stability and reusability is essential to the practical and economical implementation of the process. To achieve this, the enzyme must be used in an immobilized form. However, conventional immobilization by physical adsorption is prone to leaching, resulting in low stability. Although other immobilization methods (such as chemical adsorption) enhance stability, they generally result in low activity. In addition, mass transfer limitations are a major problem with most conventional immobilized enzymes. In this review paper, the effectiveness of metal organic frameworks (MOFs) is assessed as a promising alternative support for FDH immobilization. Kinetic mechanisms and stability of wild FDH from various sources were assessed and compared to those of cloned and genetically modified FDH. Various techniques for the synthesis of MOFs and different immobilization strategies are presented, with special emphasis on in situ and post synthetic immobilization of FDH in MOFs for CO2 hydrogenation.

Abstract
Three 2D new coordination polymers Co2(L1)2(1,10-Phenanthroline)2(DMF)0.5(H2O) (1), (H2L1 = Pyridine-3,5-dicarboxylic acid) Co(L1)(2,2-bipyridine) (2), and Co(L2)(2,2-bipyridine) (DMF) (3) (H2L2 = Pyridine-3,4-dicarboxylic acid) were synthesized through a solvothermal reaction of cobalt nitrate and pyridine carboxylic acid ligand with the auxiliary ligand (1,10-Phenanthroline or 2,2-bipyridine). They were characterized by X-ray diffraction and elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetry analysis, and magnetism. Compounds 1–3 featured 2D hexagonal (6,3) networks which linked into 3D supramolecular architectures through π–π interaction. In addition, compounds 1 and 2 showed the antiferromagnetic exchange interactions, and the magnetic property of compound 3 exhibited ferromagnetic exchange interactions.
