Abstract
The aim of this in vitro study is to compare the performance of digital and conventional methods in the manufacture of single copings in terms of the internal and marginal fit. Twenty-four prefabricated titanium Cone Morse Exact abutments of the lateral anatomical type were used to manufacture 24 lithium disilicate copings in the CAD-CAM Ceramill (n = 12) and heat-press (n = 12) systems. The copings were cemented using a self-adhesive resin cement (RelyX U-200; 3M ESPE) and then cut vertically. The cement line was photographed using an optical microscope at ×100 and ×200 magnification and then the internal and marginal regions were measured. The mean values of fits, for the CAD-CAM and heat-press techniques, respectively, were (μm): angular regions, 81.8 and 75.3; linear regions, 63.1 and 60.1; incisal regions, 171.1 and 114.7; marginal discrepancy, 74.1 and 75.2; and absolute marginal discrepancy, 99.5 and 96.2. MANOVA test showed that there is an effect of the techniques on the regions (p < .05). The effects of laboratories and the interaction between laboratories and techniques on the regions were not statistically significant (p > .05). The techniques evaluated presented clinically acceptable results for the marginal fit. However, the conventional method performed better for the internal fit. RESEARCH HIGHLIGHTS: Scientific evidence regarding the methods of making prosthesis can help the dental professional in decision-making. Digital and conventional methods is both good in the manufacture of single copings in terms of the internal and marginal fit.

Abstract
Background: In everyday dentistry, monolithic single crowns can be cemented with self-adhesive resin cements. The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate how the marginal adaptation of full monolithic zirconia-reinforced lithium silicate (ZLS) single crowns is influenced by three different self-adhesive resin cements. Methods: Forty-five typodont teeth fully prepared for full monolithic crowns were divided into three groups (fifteen each) for the use of three different self-adhesive resin cements. A fourth control group (Temp-bond) was created by taking five teeth from each group before cementation with self-adhesive resin cements. All forty-five abutments were scanned using a Primescan intra-oral scanner (IOS), followed by computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) of zirconia-reinforced lithium silicate (ZLS) full crowns using a four-axis machine. Initially, the crowns of the control group were fixed to the abutments using Temp-bond, and the marginal gap was evaluated using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). After removing the control group crowns from the abutments, fifteen crowns in each group were cemented using a different self-adhesive resin cement and observed under SEM for evaluation of the marginal gap. A Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was performed, indicating no normal distribution (p < 0.05), followed by Mann-Whitney tests (α = 0.05). Results: The total mean marginal gap of the temp-bond control group was significantly lower compared to all three groups of self-adhesive resin cement (p < 0.0005). The total mean marginal gap of the G-cem ONE group was significantly lower compared to the TheraCem group (p < 0.026) and RelyX U200 group (p < 0.008). The total mean marginal gap of the TheraCem group was significantly higher than the G-cem ONE group (p < 0.026) but showed no significant difference with the RelyX U200 group (p > 0.110). Conclusions: All four groups showed a clinically acceptable marginal gap (<120 microns). Although all three groups of self-adhesive resin cement showed a significant increase in the marginal gap compared to the temp-bond control group, they were within the limits of clinical acceptability. Regarding the marginal gap, in everyday dentistry, it is acceptable to use all three self-adhesive resin cements, although the G-cem ONE group exhibited the lowest marginal gap for ZLS single crowns.

Abstract
BACKGROUND This study compared the influence of crystallization on marginal gap adaptation by using computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD-CAM) for producing monolithic zirconia-reinforced lithium silicate (ZLS) ceramic crowns. METHODS A total of 25 plastic teeth were scanned using a Primescan intra-oral scanner (IOS), and ZLS crowns were ground. For each unit (abutment and crown), the marginal gap was evaluated pre crystallization and post crystallization at four regions of interest through the use of a scanning electron microscope (SEM). To compare the marginal gap between the two groups, a Kolmogorov-Smirnov test performed on the study variables indicated a normal distribution (p > 0.05) followed by paired samples T-tests (α = 0.0005). RESULTS After crystallization, there were significantly higher circumferential marginal gaps (CMGs) for all four surfaces (distal (p = 0.0005), mesial (p = 0.0005), palatal (p = 0.0005), and buccal (p = 0.0005)). The total mean marginal gap (MMG) revealed a significantly higher result for the post-crystallization group (79.82 ± 7.86 μm) compared to the pre-crystallization group (24.25 ± 5.49 μm). CONCLUSIONS The post-crystallization group showed a significantly higher marginal gap compared to the pre-crystallization group in all parameters, but both groups were in the clinically accepted threshold (<120 microns). In terms of the marginal gap, it is arguable whether to carry out post-crystallization for CELTRA® DUO crowns and achieve better mechanical properties but significantly increase the marginal gap.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The accuracy of dental crowns is crucial for their longevity and effectiveness. OBJECTIVE This study aims to investigate how the precision of crowns is affected by two different fabrication methods, either subtractive (milling) or additive (3D printing), within computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacture (CAD/CAM) technology. METHODS A standardised digital scan of a maxillary first molar with a shoulder margin (.stl file) was used to design and fabricate crowns through both subtractive (milling) and additive (3D printing) processes. The crowns' marginal and internal fits were assessed comprehensively. Statistical analysis, including two-way ANOVA and independent t-tests, revealed significant differences in fitting accuracy between the two methods. RESULTS Crowns produced via 3D printing demonstrated superior fitting with minimal marginal (14 ± 5 μm) and internal discrepancies (22 ± 5 μm) compared to milling (marginal: 22 ± 4 μm, internal: 23 ± 3 μm), indicating a statistically significant advantage in precision (ps⩽ 0.022 for marginal fit). CONCLUSION The findings suggest that 3D printing may offer a more accurate alternative to milling in the fabrication of digital dental prostheses, potentially revolutionising the field with its enhanced precision capabilities.

Abstract
This study compared the marginal and internal fit of zirconia crowns fabricated using conventional and high-speed induction sintering. A typodont mandibular right first molar was prepared and 60 zirconia crowns were fabricated: 30 crowns using conventional sintering and 30 crowns using high-speed sintering. We presented a new evaluation methodology to measure the marginal and internal fit of restorations through digital scanning, aligning the two datasets, and measuring the distance between two arbitrary point sets of the datasets. For the marginal fit, we calculated the maximum values of the shortest distances between the marginal line of the prepared tooth and that of the crown. The calculated values ranged from 359 to 444 μm, with smaller values for the high-speed sintered crowns (P < 0.05). For the internal fit, we employed mesh sampling and computed the geodesic distances between the prepared tooth surface and the crown intaglio surface. The measured values ranged from 177 to 229 μm with smaller values for the high-speed sintered crowns, but no significant difference was found (P > 0.05). Based on our results, the high-speed sintering method can be considered a promising option for single-visit zirconia treatment in dental practice.

Abstract
(1) Background: The objective of this in vitro study is to evaluate the marginal accuracy of crowns created by CAD/CAM. (2) Methods: A customized chrome-cobalt (Cr-Co) implant abutment simulating a maxillary right first molar was fixed in a hemi-maxillary stone model and scanned. In total, 27 crowns were fabricated, including 9 lithium disilicate crowns, 9 composite crowns, and 9 zirconia crowns. The measurements were determined by scanning electron microscopy. Descriptive analysis was performed using the mean and standard deviation, while the Kruskal-Wallis test was performed to determine whether the marginal discrepancies were significantly different between each group (p < 0.05). (3) Results: The lowest marginal gap value was reported for zirconia (21.45 ± 12.58 µm), followed by composite (44.7 ± 24.96 µm) and lithium disilicate (62.28 ± 51.8 µm). The Kruskal-Wallis tests revealed a statistically significant difference (p-value < 0.05) in the mean marginal gaps between different materials. (4) Conclusions: The proposed digital workflow can be a viable alternative for fixed prosthetic rehabilitations. The best performance in terms of marginal gap was achieved by zirconia crowns, but all three materials demonstrate marginal closure below the clinically accepted threshold value (120 µm). Clinical significance: although significant differences were reported, the investigated CAD/CAM materials showed clinically acceptable marginal gaps.

Abstract
Aim: The purpose of this study is to compare the marginal fit of crowns manufactured using different CAD/CAM materials on 2 different types of finish line design.
Material and method: Tooth preparations were made by creating 2 different finish lines (rounded shoulder, chamfer) on an acrylic mandibular second premolar model. Impressions were taken on each preparation using polyvinylsiloxane impression material, and blocks with three different compositions including lithium disilicate (LDS), zirconia-reinforced lithium silicate (ZLS), and monolithic zirconia (MZ) (UP.CAD, Celtra Duo, and VITA YZ HT) were produced using a CAD/CAM (computer-aided-design and computer-aided-manufacturing) milling device (VHF R5) (n=10). The marginal gap values of the crown restorations were measured by the same operator using a stereomicroscope (LEICA DVM6). Histogram plots and the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test were used to test the normality of the distributions of the variables. The non-normally distributed (nonparametric) variables were compared using the Mann-Whitney U test for two groups and the Kruskal-Wallis test for more than two groups.
Results: The marginal gap values were compared between finish line designs separately for each material. Accordingly, the marginal gap values of the rounded shoulder finish line were smaller than those of the chamfer finish line in all materials. The marginal gap values were also compared among the materials separately for each finish line type. Accordingly, the marginal gap values of the VITA YZ HT material were smaller than those of the Celtra Duo (ZLS) and UP.CAD (LDS) materials for both finish line designs. There was no significant difference between Celtra Duo and UP.CAD.
Conclusion: The finish line design is a factor that affects marginal fit. Monolithic zirconia is more appropriate for clinical use as it shows a better marginal fit compared to LDS and ZLS.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The background and clinical understanding of the properties of currently available indirect restorative systems and fabrication methods is, along with manufacturer and evidence-based literature, an important starting point to guide the clinical selection of materials for tooth and/or implant supported reconstructions. Therefore, this review explores most indirect restorative systems available in the market, especially all-ceramic, along with aspects of manufacturing process, clinical survival rates, and esthetic outcomes. OVERVIEW Progressive incorporation of new technologies in the dental field and advancements in materials science have enabled the development/improvement of indirect restorative systems and treatment concepts in oral rehabilitation, resulting in reliable and predictable workflows and successful esthetic and functional outcomes. Indirect restorative systems have evolved from metal ceramics and polymers to glass ceramics, polycrystalline ceramics, and resin-matrix ceramics, aiming to improve not only biological and mechanical properties, but especially the optical properties and esthetic quality of the reconstructions, in attempt to mimic natural teeth. CONCLUSIONS Based on several clinical research, materials, and patient-related parameters, a decision tree for the selection of indirect restorative materials was suggested to guide clinicians in the rehabilitation process. CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE The pace of materials development is faster than that of clinical research aimed to support their use. Since no single material provides an ideal solution to every case, professionals must continuously seek information from well designed, long-term clinical trials in order to incorporate or not new materials and technological advancements.

Abstract
STATEMENT OF PROBLEM Whether the precision of fit of computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD-CAM) complete crowns is affected by the finish line configuration is unclear. PURPOSE The purpose of this in vitro study was to evaluate the marginal and internal fit of CAD-CAM ceramic crowns made from lithium disilicate based on 3 different finish lines (rounded shoulder, chamfer, feather-edge). MATERIALS AND METHODS Thirty anterior lithium disilicate complete crowns (n=10 per finish line group) were fabricated by following a completely digital workflow based on digital scans made with the TRIOS scanner. The crowns were adhesively cemented on duplicate dies of the respective prepared Typodont teeth, and the marginal gap, absolute marginal discrepancy, and internal gap were evaluated by using microcomputed tomography (μCT). A total of 66 values were obtained for each specimen from sagittal and transaxial sections, and a rendering software program was used to calculate the volume of the cement gap for each specimen by means of 3D region growing. Two-way ANOVA, Tukey post hoc tests with Bonferroni correction, and the Kruskal-Wallis test were used to compare the values between the experimental groups (α=.05). RESULTS Marginal gap and absolute marginal discrepancy values were statistically significantly different between groups. In ascending order, marginal gap values were 23 ±14 μm for rounded shoulder, 54 ±28 μm for chamfer, and 96 ±36 μm for feather-edge finish lines. Absolute marginal discrepancy values were 96 ±34 μm for rounded shoulder, 124 ±37 μm for chamfer, and 157 ±34 μm for feather-edge finish lines. Internal gap values were 111 ±14 μm for feather-edge, 136 ±22 μm for chamfer, and 168 ±25 μm for rounded shoulder finish lines. The differences in cement volume between groups were not statistically significant (P=.200). CONCLUSIONS All 3 finish lines produced marginal gaps within the range of clinically accep table values. Lithium disilicate CAD crowns with a rounded shoulder finish line had the best marginal fit but the poorest internal fit, and lithium disilicate CAD crowns with a feather-edge finish line had the best internal fit but the poorest marginal fit.

Abstract
STATEMENT OF PROBLEM Systematic reviews about the internal and marginal misfits of fixed prostheses have identified a limited number of clinical studies, suggesting the need for further research on the subject. Although the replica technique has been described as suitable for this purpose, few studies have validated it. PURPOSE The purpose of this in vitro study was to compare the ability of a nondestructive replica technique and a destructive cementation technique to assess internal and marginal misfits of zirconia copings, considering current materials and designs. MATERIAL AND METHODS Twelve anatomic prefabricated abutments (Neodent) were used to manufacture zirconia copings following the Ceramill (Amann Girrbach AG) (n=6) and Lava (3M ESPE) (n=6) systems. Replications of the cementation line were obtained with polyvinyl siloxane for the replica technique, and the copings were then cemented and sectioned to obtain 5 surfaces (buccal, palatal, mesial, distal, and incisal) and the linear and angle regions (internal axiogingival and axioincisal angles). The thickness of the cement line and silicone film was measured at 45 reference points on each abutment. A total of 540 measurements were made with an optical microscope with a digital camera at magnifications of ×100 and ×200. Data were analyzed by repeated-measures ANOVA and the Bonferroni multiple comparison tests (α=.05). RESULTS In the internal misfit evaluation, the mean values observed for the cementation technique and replica technique were as follows: angle regions, 70.6 μm and 72.2 μm; linear regions, 59.1 μm and 59.6 μm; incisal surface, 139.0 μm and 139.8 μm; buccal surface, 72.4 μm and 73.8 μm; palatal surface, 73.1 μm and 75.2 μm; mesial surface, 74.1 μm and 73.8 μm; distal surface, 75.0 μm and 76.3 μm; and overall mean, 73.6 μm and 74.8 μm, respectively. In the evaluation of the marginal misfit, the mean values found were: buccal surface, 36.7 μm and 37.8 μm; palatal surface, 37.5 μm and 36.8 μm; mesial surface, 44.0 μm and 43.7 μm; and distal surface, 44.6 μm and 45.2 μm, respectively. No significant differences were found between the 2 techniques for all locations and systems (P>.05). CONCLUSIONS Within the limitations of this in vitro study, both techniques presented the same ability to assess the internal and marginal misfits when the location and overall mean averages were evaluated (P>.05).

Abstract
This clinical study was designed with the aim of fabricating four ceramic crowns using the conventional method and digital methods with three different intraoral scanners and evaluate the marginal and internal fit as well as clinician satisfaction. We enrolled 20 subjects who required ceramic crowns in the upper or lower molar or the premolar. Impressions were obtained using digital scans, with conventional impressions (polyvinyl siloxane and desktop scanner) and three different intraoral scanners (EZIS PO, i500, and CS3600). Four lithium disilicate glass-ceramic crowns were fabricated for each patient. In the oral cavity, the proximal and occlusal adjustments were performed, and the marginal fit and internal fit were evaluated using the silicone replica technique. The clinician satisfaction score of the four crowns was evaluated as per the evaluations of the proximal and occlusal contacts made during the adjustment process and the marginal and internal fit. For statistical analysis, the differences among the groups were analyzed with one-way analysis of variance and Tukey HSD test as a post-test; Pearson correlation analysis was used for analyzing the correlations (α = 0.05). There was a significant difference in the marginal and internal fit of the ceramic crowns fabricated using three intraoral scanner types and one desktop scanner type (p < 0.001); there was a significant difference in the clinician satisfaction scores (p = 0.04). The clinician satisfaction score and marginal fit were significantly correlated (absolute marginal discrepancy and marginal gap) (p < 0.05). An impression technique should be considered for fabricating a ceramic crown with excellent goodness-of-fit. Further, higher clinician satisfaction could be obtained by reproducing the excellent goodness-of-fit using the intraoral scanning method as compared to the conventional method.

Abstract
PURPOSE The purpose of this study is to systematically map all the factors that influence the fit and adaptation of zirconia crowns and/or copings. MATERIALS AND METHODS The investigational strategy involved carrying out an electronic search between December 1, 2009 and September 1, 2019 through the Embase and Medline databases using Boolean operators to locate appropriate articles. RESULTS A total of 637 articles were discovered after the removal of duplicates, and 46 of these were selected for evaluation. Further, a quality assessment was performed using GRADE evaluation criteria. CONCLUSIONS Shoulder finish line preparations had slightly better marginal fit compared to chamfer finish lines. Crowns obtained from digital impressions had comparable to superior marginal adaptation compared to conventional impressions. Increasing cement space showed to improve zirconia crown adaptation. Cementation and veneering zirconia frameworks found to increase the marginal and internal gaps. Limited information is available on the effect of the alteration of sintering time/Temperature and/or sintering techniques on the adaptation of zirconia crowns. Most of the selected studies had a moderate quality assessment evaluation. Future studies could investigate the chair-side, ultra-fast sintering effect on the marginal gap of zirconia crowns.

Abstract
Objective: The objective of this study is to compare the marginal adaptation of feldspathic porcelain crowns using two computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing systems, one of them is open and the other is closed. Materials and Methods: Twenty identical titanium abutments were divided into two groups: open system (OS), where ceramic crowns were created using varied equipment and software, and closed system (CS), where ceramic crowns were created using the CEREC system. Through optical microscopy analysis, we assess the marginal adaptation of the prosthetic interfaces. The data were subjected to the distribution of normality and variance. The t-test was used for the analysis of the comparison factor between the groups, and the one-way ANOVA was used to compare the variance of crown analysis regions within the group. A significance level of 5% was considered for the analyses. Results: There was a significant difference between the systems (P = 0.007), with the CS group having the higher mean (23.75 μm ± 3.05) of marginal discrepancy when compared to the open group (17.94 μm ± 4.77). Furthermore, there were no differences in marginal discrepancy between the different points between the groups (P ≥ 0.05). Conclusions: The studied groups presented results within the requirements set out in the literature. However, the OS used presented better results in marginal adaptation.

Abstract
Numerous studies have previously evaluated the marginal and internal fit of fixed prostheses; however, few reports have performed an objective comparison of the various methods used for their assessment. The purpose of this study was to compare five marginal and internal fit assessment methods for fixed prostheses. A specially designed sample was used to measure the marginal and internal fit of the prosthesis according to the cross-sectional method (CSM), silicone replica technique (SRT), triple scan method (TSM), micro-computed tomography (MCT), and optical coherence tomography (OCT). The five methods showed significant differences in the four regions that were assessed (p < 0.001). The marginal, axial, angle, and occlusal regions showed low mean values: CSM (23.2 µm), TSM (56.3 µm), MCT (84.3 µm), and MCT (102.6 µm), respectively. The marginal fit for each method was in the range of 23.2-83.4 µm and internal fit (axial, angle, and occlusal) ranged from 44.8-95.9 µm, 84.3-128.6 µm, and 102.6-140.5 µm, respectively. The marginal and internal fit showed significant differences depending on the method. Even if the assessment values of the marginal and internal fit are found to be in the allowable clinical range, the differences in the values according to the method should be considered.

Abstract
PURPOSE The marginal fit is an essential component for the clinical success of prosthodontic restorations. The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of different abutment finish line widths and crown thicknesses on the marginal fit of zirconia crowns fabricated using either standard or fast sintering protocols. MATERIALS AND METHODS Six titanium abutments were fabricated for receiving zirconia molar crowns. Crowns were designed virtually and milled from partially sintered zirconia blanks and divided into 12 groups (n = 10/group). Crowns in groups 1 to 6 were sintered by standard sintering, while those in groups 7 to 12 were sintered by fast sintering. Groups were further categorized according to abutment finish line and crown thickness: G1/G7 (0.5 mm chamfer, 0.8 mm thick); G2/G8 (0.5 mm chamfer, 1.5 mm thick); G3/G9 (1.0 mm chamfer, 0.8 mm thick); G4/10 (1.0 mm chamfer, 1.5 mm thick); G5/G11 (1.2 mm chamfer, 0.8 mm thick); G6/G12 (1.2 mm chamfer, 1.5 mm thick). The marginal gaps were assessed at 8 locations using digital microscopy. The linear mixed effect model analysis was performed at a significance level of 0.05. RESULTS All vertical marginal gaps were within the clinically acceptable range (∼11-52 μm). G8 (FS, 0.5 mm chamfer, 1.5 mm thick) demonstrated the largest gaps (47.95 μm, 95% CI: 44.57-51.23), whereas G3 (SS, 1.0 mm chamfer, 0.8 thick) had the smallest marginal gap (14.43 μm, 95% CI: 11.15-17.71). A linear mixed effect models showed significant differences for the interaction between finish line × crown thickness × sintering (F = 18.96, p < 0.001). The lingual surfaces showed the largest gaps in both sintering protocols, while the mesial and mesiobuccal surfaces demonstrated the smallest gaps. CONCLUSIONS There was a significant interaction between finish line widths, crown thickness, and sintering protocol on the marginal gaps in both sintering protocols; 1.0 mm finish line preparations with either 0.8 mm or 1.5 mm occlusal reduction had better marginal fit in both sintering protocols compared to 0.5 mm or 1.2 mm finish lines. Smaller marginal discrepancies were observed for standard sintering crowns with a 0.5 mm finish line and 1.5 mm occlusal reduction. Conservative occlusal reduction should be accompanied with a 1.2 mm finish line to obtain better marginal fit for full-contoured zirconia crowns.

Abstract
STATEMENT OF PROBLEM Different parameters can influence the adaptation of computer-assisted design and computer-assisted manufacturing (CAD-CAM) inlay/onlay restorations. However, systematic reviews to identify and discuss these parameters are lacking. PURPOSE The purpose of this systematic review was to summarize the scientific literature investigating all parameters that can influence both the marginal and internal adaptation of CAD-CAM inlay/onlay restorations. MATERIAL AND METHODS An electronic search was conducted by 2 independent reviewers for studies published in English between January 1, 2007 and September 20, 2017 on the PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, and Web of Science databases and in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) statement. Factors investigated in the selected articles included the type of CAD-CAM system, virtual space parameters, version of the software, type of block, luting procedure, type of restoration, sample size and aging procedure, evaluation method, and number of measurement points per specimen. RESULTS A total of 162 articles were identified, of which 23 articles met the inclusion criteria. Nine studies investigated adaptation with different restorative materials, 2 evaluated adaptation according to the type of preparation design, 9 compared adaptation before/after thermomechanical loading, and 2 before/after cementation, 1 study investigated marginal adaptation based on whether the optical scan was made intraorally or extraorally, 1 compared adaptation with 5 and 3 axis CAM systems, and 1 assessed adaptation with 4 different intraoral scanners. The risk of bias was high for 7, medium for 15, and low for 1 of the studies reviewed. The high level of heterogeneity across the studies excluded meta-analysis. CONCLUSIONS Most of the studies reported clinically acceptable values for marginal adaptation. The performance of a CAD-CAM system is influenced by the type of restorative material. A nonretentive cavity preparation exhibited better adaptation than a retentive preparation. Most studies showed that thermomechanical loading affected the quality of marginal adaptation. Cementation increased marginal discrepancies. No statistically significant difference was found for marginal fit of onlays between intraoral and extraoral optical scans using a stone die. The number of milling axes, the type of digital camera, and the region measured were statistically significant in relation to marginal/internal adaptation. Values of adaptation recorded failed to reproduce the preestablished spacer parameters in the software. Clarification is needed concerning adaptation according to the type of preparation design, the type of material, the choice of intrinsic parameters for the CAD process, the type and shape of milling instruments, and the behavior of the material during milling. Adaptation of CAD-CAM inlay/onlays should be evaluated under clinical conditions.

Abstract
PURPOSE The aim of this in vitro study was to compare the internal 3D adaptation of polymer-infused ceramic crowns fabricated using two CAD/CAM systems: CEREC inLab MC XL and Ceramill Motion 2 (5X). MATERIALS AND METHODS Twenty-five implant-supported metal-ceramic crowns were fabricated conventionally using the lost-wax technique, and the outer contour was scanned to serve as a guide for designing the polymer-infused ceramic CAD/CAM crowns. Twenty-five crowns were fabricated using CEREC, and 25 crowns were fabricated using Ceramill. The cement space was set to 20 μm. The Zeiss Accura Microsystem Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), Calypso, and Geomagic software were used to measure the 3D accuracy of fit of all crowns to their respective implant abutments. To test for the statistical significance between groups in terms of 3D total distortion, a one-way ANOVA was conducted. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was used to investigate the differences in the x, y, and z coordinates. A p-value of 0.05 or less was considered statistically significant at an alpha level of 0.05. RESULTS Comparing the 3D misfit of metal-ceramic crowns to those of CAD/CAM crowns fabricated using CEREC revealed no significant difference (88.20 ± 36.59 μm vs. 102.45 ± 36.58 μm, p = 0.161). Similarly, no significant difference in 3D total distortion was identified between metal-ceramic crowns and crowns fabricated using Ceramill (88.20 ± 36.59 μm vs. 78.40 ± 31.03 μm, p = 0.336); however, the 3D total distortion of polymer-infused crowns made by Ceramill was significantly reduced compared to that of crowns fabricated by CEREC (78.3 ± 31.0 μm vs. 102.4 ± 36.5 μm, p = 0.019). CONCLUSIONS Polymer-infused ceramic crowns fabricated using CEREC exhibited the least accurate 3D fit. All misfit values of the tested groups were within clinically acceptable levels.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To investigate the fracture behavior and marginal gap region of CAD/CAM fabricated lithium disilicate (L) and zirconium dioxide (Z) crowns using palatal venting (PV), pre-cementation with custom analogs (CA), or conventional cementation technique (SP) with adhesive cement (A) or resin-modified glass ionomer cement (B). MATERIAL AND METHODS Twelve groups (n = 6) were set according to material (L, Z), cement (A, B), and technique (PV, CA, SP). Specimens were thermo-mechanical aged (TML), loaded until fracture (LF) and fracture patterns recorded. Marginal gap width and quality were assessed and compared to replicas obtained before and after TML. RESULTS Crown material significantly influenced LF with a mean of 1037.6 ± 282.4 N in L and 5356.3 ± 1207.0 N in Z groups (p < .001). Neither cement material nor cementation method affected the outcome. Fractures occurred along the mesial-distal central fissure in both materials. Gap width before TML was 22.04 ± 13.42 μm for L and 19.98 ± 12.72 μm for Z specimens, with overall no influence of crown material, cement type, or method. Marginal cleanliness just below the polished implant shoulder reached 66.7%-88.9% with A, and 91.7%-100% with B, and tended to increase in all groups during TML indicating a decrease in excess cement. Implant-crown junctions were cleaner with B compared to A (p ≤ .001) and along Z crown surfaces compared to L (p ≤ .007). CONCLUSIONS Crown venting of lithium disilicate and zirconium dioxide crowns did not affect the fracture load and patterns. Complete cement removal was rare, and the observed particle ablation requires further clinical attention, particularly with submucosal margins.

Abstract
PURPOSE The purposes of this study were to evaluate the marginal and internal gaps, and the potential clinical applications of three different methods of dental prostheses fabrication, and to compare the prostheses prepared using the silicone replica technique (SRT) and those prepared using the three-dimensional superimposition analysis (3DSA). MATERIALS AND METHODS Five Pekkton, lithium disilicate, and zirconia crowns were each manufactured and tested using both the SRT and the two-dimensional section of the 3DSA. The data were analyzed with the nonparametric version of a two-way analysis of variance using rank-transformed values and the Tukey's post-hoc test (α = .05). RESULTS Significant differences were observed between the fabrication methods in the marginal gap (P < .010), deep chamfer (P < .001), axial wall (P < .001), and occlusal area (P < .001). A significant difference in the occlusal area was found between the two measurement methods (P < .030), whereas no significant differences were found in the marginal gap (P > .350), deep chamfer (P > .719), and axial wall (P > .150). As the 3DSA method is three-dimensional, it allows for the measurement of arbitrary points. CONCLUSION All of the three fabrication methods are valid for measuring clinical objectives because they produced prostheses within the clinically acceptable range. Furthermore, a three-dimensional superimposition analysis verification method such as the silicone replica technique is also applicable in clinical settings.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aims to compare the marginal accuracy of single crowns fabricated using self-curing resin, Luxatemp, and computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) methods in clinical application. METHODS A total of 30 working dies, which were obtained from 30 clinical teeth prepared with full crown as standard, were created and made into 30 self-curing resin, Luxatemp, and CAD/CAM single crowns. The restorations were seated on the working dies, and stereomicroscope was used to observe and measure the thickness of reference points. One-way analysis of variance, which was performed using SPSS 19.0 software package, compared the marginal gap widths of self-curing resin, Luxatemp, and CAD/CAM provisional crowns. RESULTS The mean marginal gap widths of the fabricated self-curing resin, Luxatemp, and CAD/CAM were (179.06±33.24), (88.83±9.56), and (43.61±7.27) μm, respectively. A significant difference was observed among the three provisional crowns (P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS The marginal gap width of CAD/CAM provisional crown was lower than that of the self-curing resin and Luxatemp. Thus, the CAD/CAM provisional crown offers a better remediation effect in clinical application.

Abstract
PURPOSE The purpose of this in vitro study was to compare and analyze the three-dimensional marginal and internal fit of PEKK and zirconia copings. METHODS Two acrylic models of the right maxillary canine, first molar were fabricated as master dies and duplicated by one-step dual viscosity impressions. Five stone replicas from each model were digitized with a blue-light scanner and copings were machined from Pekkton and Zirconia blanks. The inner surface of all the copings and two original acrylic models were digitized by a highly accurate optical scanner. By superimposing the digitized coping data with the CAD-reference die three-dimensionally, visual fit-discrepancies were drawn by calculating the root mean square (RMS) and visualized on a color-difference map. Each calculated RMS-value was statistically analyzed by 3-way ANOVA. In addition, Student's t-test was conducted in order to verify the significance (α=.05) of fit-discrepancies based on the type of abutment tooth and the materials. RESULTS Mean RMS-values for marginal fit (internal fit) ranged from 51.64±1.5 (36.12±1.34) to 69.62±8.11 (41.6±1.63)μm. Differences in marginal fit (canine: P=.001; molar: P=.047) and internal fit (canine: P=.017; molar: P=.046) were statistically significant. The results of the 3-way ANOVA showed statistically significant differences in the RMS values of the two groups for the material (P<.001), the types of the abutment tooth (P<.001), and the measured region (P<.001). CONCLUSIONS The marginal and internal fit of both PEKK and zirconia copings of both canine and molar were within the clinically acceptable range. However, the PEKK presented better fitness compared with the zirconia.
