Abstract
Calpain role has been shown in the cumulus cell-oocyte complexes and, corpus luteum. We investigated the association of calpains-1 and -2 in ovarian folliculogenesis using the Sprague-Dawley (SD) rat model and steroidogenesis in the human granulosa cells (hGCs). We induced PCOS in 42-day-old SD rats by letrozole oral gavage for 21 days. Premature ovarian failure (POF) was induced in 21-day-old SD rats by 4-vinylcyclohexene diepoxide (VCD). Ovulation and ovarian hyperstimulatory (OHS) syndrome were induced by pregnant mare gonadotropin (PMSG) + human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) treatments in 21 days SD rats, respectively. Steroidogenesis is stimulated in human granulosa cells (hGCs) by forskolin and the response of 17-beta-estradiol (E2) on calpains expression was checked in hGCs. The protein expression by immunoblotting and activity by biochemical assay of calpains-1 and -2 showed an oscillating pattern in the ovarian cycle. PMSG-induced follicular recruitment showed upregulation of calpains-1 and -2, but with no change during ovarian function cessation (POF). Upregulated calpain-2 expression and calpain activity was found in the hCG +PMSG-induced ovulation. Letrozole-induced PCOS showed downregulation of calpain-1, but upregulation of calpain-2. PMSG+hCG-induced OHS led to the upregulation of calpain-1. Letrozole and metformin separately increased the expression level of calpains-1 and -2 in the hGCs during luteinization. In conclusion, the expression levels of calpains -1 and -2 are increased with ovarian follicular recruitment by PMSG and calpain-1 is decreased in the PCOS condition, and letrozole and metformin upregulate the expression of calpains-1 and -2 during luteinization in the hGCs possibly via E2 action.

Abstract
Objective To investigate the effects of β-cell dysfunction on IVF outcomes in women with PCOS. Methods This retrospective cohort study includes 1,212 women with PCOS undergoing their first IVF cycle between September 2010 and December 2019. Beta-cell dysfunction was measured by homeostasis model assessment of β-cell function (HOMA-β) index. Results In quartiles of HOMA-β, the incidence of miscarriage dramatically increased from 10.2% (Q1) to 31.1% (Q4) (P for trend <0.001). Likewise, the incidence of miscarriage in quartiles of HOMA-β also showed a similar trend (P for trend <0.001). After adjusting for confounding factors, logistic regression analyses showed that high HOMA-IR values were independently associated with a high risk of miscarriage, with the odds ratios (OR) and 95% confidence intervals for quartiles 2-4 versus quartile 1 were 1.30 (0.69-2.46), 1.82 (0.97-3.43), and 3.57 (1.86-6.85), respectively (P for trend <0.001). When analyzed jointly, women in the highest HOMA-IR and highest HOMA-β group exhibited the highest risk for miscarriage compared with all other groups. Furthermore, higher HOMA-IR values were associated with higher risks of miscarriage among PCOS women regardless of HOMA-β values. Conclusions β-cell dysfunction is independently associated with increased miscarriage rate and decreased live birth rate in women with PCOS. It also plays a synergistic role with IR in terms of the reproductive outcomes, while the influence of IR overweighs that of β-cell dysfunction.

Abstract
PURPOSE Globally, the incidence of twin pregnancies is rising owing to the use of assisted reproductive technologies (ART), emigration and deferment of pregnancy until advanced maternal age (AMA). While twin pregnancies have higher absolute risks of adverse outcomes, including miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death and preterm delivery, the impact of specific exposures and risk factors related to these outcomes may differ between twin pregnancies and singleton pregnancies. Regarding modifiable factors, data are sometimes based on evidence extrapolated from singleton or whole obstetric populations. Therefore, targeted evidence is required to provide care tailored to twin pregnancies to prevent adverse outcomes. We aimed to comprehensively review the association between different risk factors and adverse outcomes in twin pregnancies, including data on chorionicity, and to compare these to singletons. MATERIALS AND METHODS This review examines the risks associated with chorionicity, AMA, body mass index (BMI), socioeconomic and ethnic inequalities, maternal smoking, use of ART, maternal perception of fetal movement, and maternal comorbidities, including hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) and gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Adverse outcomes reported were preterm birth, admission to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), stillbirth and neonatal mortality. As such, fetal mortality and morbidity will be under-represented, as pregnancy loss before 22-24 weeks is omitted. RESULTS Monochorionicity increases the risk of stillbirth, NICU admission, and preterm delivery in twin pregnancy. AMA predisposes twin pregnancies to higher risks of mortality, admission to the NICU, and preterm birth than singleton pregnancies do. Conversely, the impact of BMI, socioeconomic inequalities, smoking, ART, and HDP on adverse outcomes appears to be lower in twin pregnancies than in singleton pregnancies. This attenuation might be explained by the higher baseline risk of adverse outcomes such as preterm birth in twin pregnancies. Some exposures, such as ART use and GDM, appear to be "protective" against perinatal mortality in twin pregnancies, despite being established risk factors for adverse outcomes in singleton pregnancies, potentially related to access to specialist care. There is a paucity of evidence available to counsel mothers of twin pregnancies regarding reduced fetal movement. CONCLUSIONS Overall, the risk factors for adverse pregnancy outcomes differ between twin and singleton pregnancies. This highlights the need for further studies to examine the association between risk factors and adverse outcomes in twin pregnancies. The resulting data would facilitate tailored guidance for twin pregnancies, contribute to improved antenatal care, and inform wider public health strategies.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE We aimed to compare pregnancy and neonatal outcomes in the phenotypic subtypes of patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). METHODS This prospective cohort included the patients with PCOS (n = 121) diagnosed according to the presence of androgen excess, ovulatory dysfunction, and/or polycystic ovary morphology and healthy controls (n = 125). We stratified PCOS as phenotype A (n = 45), phenotype B (n = 8), phenotype C (n = 32) and phenotype D (n = 35) and followed throughout pregnancy, comparing their outcomes. RESULTS The study population had a mean age of 28.7 ± 4.9 years and a mean BMI of 31.6 kg/m2 with no difference between the groups. Primary cesarean deliveries were significantly more common in PCOS patients (23.3%) than in the control group (17.6%, P = 0.021). The phenotype A group had significantly higher rates of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) (42.2%, P < 0.001) and fetal macrosomia (14.6%, P = 0.002) compared with the control group (4.8% and 0.8%m respectively). We detected a significantly lower rate of normal risk score on the double screening test in the PCOS group (59.0%) than in the control group (75.4%) and in the other groups (P = 0.001). CONCLUSION The rates of GDM, fetal macrosomia, and cesarean section were higher in the PCOS group, depending on the phenotype. We observed changes in risk calculation according to phenotypic types at aneuploidy screening.

Abstract
Parental health before conception effects maternal and offspring health outcomes. Preconception care provides healthcare to prospective parents addressing modifiable preconception risks and health behaviors. This umbrella review aimed to consolidate evidence on women's and men's modifiable preconception risks or health behaviors associated with maternal and offspring health outcomes. MEDLINE, EMBASE, Maternity and Infant Care, CINAHL, and PsycINFO were searched from March 4, 2010, to March 4, 2020. Eligible studies were systematic reviews or meta-analyses of observational studies examining associations between modifiable preconception risks or health behaviors and maternal and offspring health outcomes. Screening, data extraction, and methodological quality assessment (AMSTAR 2) occurred independently by two reviewers. Degree of overlap was examined. Findings were summarized for evidence synthesis. Twenty-seven systematic reviews were included. Modifiable preconception risks and health behaviors were identified across categories: body composition (e.g., overweight, obesity), lifestyle behaviors (e.g., caffeine, smoking), nutrition (e.g., micronutrients), environmental exposures (e.g., radiation), and birth spacing (e.g., short interpregnancy intervals). Outcomes associated with exposures affected embryo (e.g., embryonic growth), maternal (e.g., gestational diabetes mellitus), fetal/neonate (e.g., preterm birth), and child (e.g., neurocognitive disorders) health. For real-world practice and policy relevance, evidence-based indicators for preconception care should include body composition, lifestyle, nutrition, environmental, and birth spacing.

Abstract
PURPOSE To assess whether live birth rates (LBR) and maternal/neonatal complications differed following single fresh and frozen-warmed blastocyst transfer. METHODS The present retrospective observational study analyzed 4,613 single embryo transfers (SET) (646 fresh and 3,967 frozen) from January 1, 2014, to December 31, 2018. Fresh embryo transfer at blastocyst stage was considered according to the age of the patient and her prognosis. In case of the risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, premature progesterone rise, non-optimal endometrial growth, or supernumerary embryos, cryopreservation with subsequent frozen embryo transfer (FET) was indicated. RESULTS No differences in LBR were recorded. Fresh embryo transfers yielded an increase both in neonatal complications OR 2.15 (95% CI 1.20-3.86, p 0.010), with a higher prevalence of singletons weighting below the 5th percentile (p 0.013) and of intrauterine growth retardation (p 0.015), as well as maternal complications, with a higher placenta previa occurrence OR 3.58 (95% CI 1.54-8.28, p 0.003), compared to FET. CONCLUSION LBR appears not to be affected by the transfer procedure preferred. Fresh embryo transfer is associated with higher risk of neonatal complications (specifically a higher prevalence of singletons weighting below the 5th percentile and of intrauterine growth retardation) and placenta previa. Reflecting on the increased practice of ART procedures, it is imperative to understand whether a transfer procedure yields less complications than the other and if it is time to switch to a "freeze-all" procedure as standard practice. Abstract
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common cause of anovulatory infertility; however, whether women with PCOS and spontaneous or drug-induced ovulatory cycles have the same reproductive potential as non-PCOS controls is a matter of debate. In the present opinion paper, the author takes the opportunity to summarize the collective evidence supporting the hypothesis of reduced fertility potential in women with PCOS, regardless of ovulatory status, and speculate that reduced reproductive potential may be caused by altered oocytes, embryo and endometrial competence, and infertility-related co-morbidities as well as an increased risk of pregnancy complications.

Abstract
Assisted hatching (AH) involves artificial disruption of the zona pellucida prior to embryo transfer. The purpose of this study is to examine the safety of AH technique and its effect on obstetrical, perinatal and neonatal outcomes and risk of developmental delay. This is a retrospective cohort of ART cycles using laser AH technique. The study group consisted of 120 cases of AH cycles resulting in singleton pregnancies and live births compared with 113 control cases. A current phone questionnaire was conducted to assess child development in the first year of life. AH was not associated with increased risk for all obstetrical and perinatal outcomes examined including PPROM, gestational diabetes, hypertensive diseases of pregnancy, delivery by cesarean section, gestational age at delivery, low birth weight (LBW), preterm birth and neonatal Apgar score (p>.05). No significant differences were observed between AH and control group in rates and risk of congenital malformations (5.8 vs. 4.4%, respectively, OR 1.33, 95% CI 0.41-4.34) and developmental delay (19.2 vs. 12.8%, respectively, OR 1.62, 95% CI 0.74-3.52). AH did not increase the risk of obstetrical and neonatal complications in singleton pregnancies, including congenital malformations and child developmental delay. AH may therefore be considered a safe method of ART.

Abstract
Uterine transplantation (UTx) associated with IVF restores fertility in women affected by absolute uterine factor infertility (AUFI). Pregnancies achieved both in women undergoing any solid organ transplantation and following IVF are associated with an increased risk of maternal and neonatal complications. This systematic review evaluated this risk in UTx-IVF treated women focusing on the safety and efficacy features of the treatment. Twenty-two studies and three press releases reporting on 52 UTx-IVF treatments were identified. Regarding the safety of treatment, 38/52 (73,1%) of surgical procedures led to the restoration of uterine function in recipients, 12/52 (23,1%) of recipients experienced post-operative complications requiring hysterectomy, and 2/52 (3,8%) of procedures failed before uterine recipients’ surgery due to intra-operative complications. Regarding the efficacy of treatment, results focused on transplanted patients showing full recovery of organ functioning: 16/38 (42,1%) of patients achieved a pregnancy, including two women who gave births twice. UTx-IVF pregnancies led to 16 deliveries and all new-borns were healthy. Six out of 16 (37,5%) UTx pregnancies faced major complications during gestation. Preterm births occurred in 10/16 (62,5%) UTx deliveries. Our data indicates that the risk of gestational and delivery complications deserves important consideration in AUFI women receiving UTx-IVF treatments. However, these observations are preliminary and need to be revised after larger series of data are published.

Abstract
To evaluate the preterm delivery and other obstetrics complications similar in singleton pregnancies achieved through IVF compared to spontaneous pregnancies. Retrospective case-control study included 1663 women with singleton pregnancies following IVF-ICSI (study group) and 3326 women with singleton spontaneous pregnancies (control group) who delivered between January 2015 and January 2018 at the Peking University Third Hospital. The control group matched 1:2 by age, BMI, parity, and gravidity. Maternal outcomes included preterm delivery and complications. There was significantly higher incidence of gestational diabetes, hypertensive disorders, and placenta previa in IVF-ICSI pregnancies versus controls (p < .05). IVF-ICSI resulted in significantly higher rate of preterm birth than in spontaneous pregnancies (p < .05) and the difference remained significant for deliveries that occurred before 28, 32, and 34 weeks gestation (p < .05). Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that female-factor infertility, hypertensive disorder, placenta previa, and PROM were significant prognostic factors associated with increased risk of prematurity. IVF-ICSI is associated with increased risk of obstetric complications including preterm delivery in singleton pregnancies. Female-factor infertility is an independent prognostic factor for preterm birth. This information is important for patient counseling and helps to refine the recommendation to optimize maternal health before embarking on fertility treatments.

Abstract
PURPOSE Despite the growing body of research implying an impact of in vitro fertilization (IVF) on imprinted genes and epigenetics, few studies have examined the effects of underlying subfertility or prenatal stress on epigenetics, particularly in terms of their role in determining infant birthweights. Both subfertility and prenatal stressors have been found to impact epigenetics and may be confounding the effect of IVF on epigenetics and imprinted genes. Like IVF, both of these exposures-infertility and prenatal stressors-have been associated with lower infant birthweights. The placenta, and specifically epigenetically regulated placental imprinted genes, provides an ideal but understudied mechanism for evaluating the relationship between underlying genetics, environmental exposures, and birthweight. METHODS AND RESULTS In this review, we discuss the impacts of IVF and infertility on birthweight, epigenetic mechanisms and genomic imprinting, and the role of these mechanisms in the IVF population and discuss the role and importance of the placenta in infant development. We then highlight recent work on the relationships between infertility, IVF, and prenatal stressors in terms of placental imprinting. CONCLUSIONS In combination, the studies discussed, as well as two recent projects of our own on placental imprinted gene expression, suggest that lower birthweights in IVF infants are secondary to a combination of exposures including the infertility and prenatal stress that couples undergoing IVF are experiencing. The work highlighted herein emphasizes the need for appropriate control populations that take infertility into account and also for consideration of prenatal psychosocial stressors as confounders and causes of variation in IVF infant outcomes.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To determine whether assisted conception increases the risk for mother-to-child transmission of hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection compared with natural conception. DESIGN Prospective cohort study. SETTING Research laboratory. PATIENT(S) A total of 305 children, 176 born with assisted conception and 129 born with natural conception, were born to a total of 251 hepatitis B surface antigen- (HBsAg-) positive women. INTERVENTION(S) None. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURE(S) The seropositive rates of HBsAg in children at birth and HBV infection rates at 9-15 months of age. RESULT(S) Overall, 7.5% (23/305) of children were HBsAg-positive at birth. The rate of HBsAg-positive children at birth did not significantly differ between children in the assisted conception group compared with those in the natural conception group (6.3% [11/176] vs. 9.3% [12/129]). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that conception method is not related to the rate of HBsAg-positive children at birth. All children who were positive for HBsAg at birth and were followed up for 9-15 months became negative for HBsAg after hepatitis B immunization. CONCLUSION(S) Assisted conception does not increase the risk for mother-to-child transmission of HBV compared with natural conception.

Abstract
As all the structures of the human eye are characterized by sex hormone receptors, this study tested the hypothesis that assisted reproductive technology (ART) treatment influences visual function and ocular morphology in women who have undergone ART treatment and children born as a result of ART treatment. A systematic literature search of all original articles published up to August 2018 was performed using the PubMed database, including all original studies available in the literature. Review articles, studies in which participants underwent mixed interventions (i.e. other than ART treatment), studies reporting data on ocular malformations in ART offspring, and studies written in languages other than English were excluded. All selected articles were analysed to assess the level of evidence according to the Oxford Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine 2011 guidelines, and the quality of evidence according to the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation system. Although sparse data suggest that ART treatment can influence visual function and ocular morphology in women who have undergone ART treatment and children born as a result of ART treatment, the available evidence is inconclusive given its low level and quality. More high-quality research is needed to assess the potential interaction between ART treatment and the eye.

Abstract
STUDY QUESTION What are the impacts of elevated testosterone (T) and an obesogenic western-style diet (WSD), either independently or together, on fertility and metabolic adaptations of pregnancy in primates? SUMMARY ANSWER Testosterone increases the time to achieve pregnancy, while a WSD reduces overall fertility, and the combination of testosterone and WSD additionally impairs glucose tolerance and causes pregnancy loss. WHAT IS KNOWN ALREADY Both hyperandrogenemia and obesity are hallmarks of polycystic ovary syndrome, which is a leading cause of infertility among women worldwide. Female macaques receiving T and WSD beginning at puberty show increased metabolic, ovarian and uterine dysfunction in the non-pregnant state by 3 years of treatment. STUDY DESIGN, SIZE, DURATION The same cohort of female rhesus macaques continued treatments from the time of puberty (2.5 years) to 4 years, including this fertility trial. There were four groups (n = 9-10/group): controls (C), T-treated (T; average total serum level 1.35 ng/ml), WSD-treated, and combined T and WSD-treated (T + WSD) females. PARTICIPANTS/MATERIALS, SETTING, METHODS Females, which were typically having menstrual cycles, were paired for 4 days with a proven male breeder following the late follicular rise in circulating estradiol (≥100 pg/ml). The presence of sperm in the reproductive tract was used to confirm mating. Animals went through up to three successive rounds of mating until they became pregnant, as confirmed by a rise in circulating mCG during the late luteal phase and ultrasound evidence of a gestational sac at Day 30 post-mating (GD30). Placental vascular parameters were also measured at GD30. Metabolic measurements consisted of fasting levels of blood glucose and insulin at approximately GD30, 60, 90 and 115, as well as an intravenous (iv) glucose tolerance test (GTT) at GD115. MAIN RESULTS AND THE ROLE OF CHANCE While all animals in the C and T groups eventually became pregnant, T-treated females on average had a greater interval to achieve pregnancy (P < 0.05). However, only ~70% of animals in the WSD and T + WSD groups became pregnant (P < 0.004). One pregnancy in T + WSD group resulted in an anembryonic pregnancy which miscarried around GD60, while another T + WSD female conceived with a rare identical twin pregnancy which required cessation due to impending fetal loss at GD106. Thus, the number of viable fetuses was less in the T + WSD group, compared to C, T or WSD. Placental blood volume at GD30 was reduced in all treatments compared to the C group (P < 0.05). Maternal P4 levels were elevated in the WSD (P < 0.03) group and E2 levels were elevated in T + WSD animals (P < 0.05). An increase in serum A4 levels throughout gestation was observed in all groups (P < 0.03) except WSD (P = 0.3). All groups displayed increased insulin resistance with pregnancy, as measured from the ivGTT during pregnancy. However, only the T + WSD group had a significant increase in fasting glucose levels and glucose clearance during the GTT indicating a worsened glucose tolerance. WSD treatment decreased female fetuses third trimester weights, but there was an interaction between WSD and T to increase female fetal weight when normalized to maternal weight. LARGE SCALE DATA N/A. LIMITATIONS REASONS FOR CAUTION The small number of pregnancies in the WSD and T + WSD groups hampers the ability to make definitive conclusions on effects during gestation. Also, the high fertility rate in the controls indicates the cohort was at their breeding prime age, which may impair the ability to observe subtle fertility defects. The low number of fetuses used for male and female analysis requires additional studies. WIDER IMPLICATIONS OF THE FINDINGS The current findings strongly suggest that both hyperandrogenemia and obesity have detrimental effects on fertility and gestation in primates, which may be directly relevant to women with polycystic ovary syndrome. Abstract
PURPOSE Low technology interventions for fertility enhancement (LTIFE) are strategies that avoid retrieval, handling, and manipulation of female gametes. The definition of LTIFE is yet to be widely accepted and clarified, but they are commonly used in milder cases of infertility and subfertility. Based on these considerations, the aim of the present study was comprehensively to review and investigate the obstetric and perinatal outcomes in subfertile patients who underwent LTIFE. METHODS A literature search up to May 2017 was performed in IBSS, SocINDEX, Institute for Scientific Information, PubMed, Web of Science, and Google Scholar. An evidence-based hierarchy was used according to The Oxford Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine to determine which articles to include and analyze, and to provide a level of evidence of each association between intervention and outcome. RESULTS This analysis identified preliminary and low-grade evidence on the influence of LTIFE on obstetric and perinatal outcomes in subfertile women. CONCLUSIONS LTIFE women should deserve major consideration from Clinicians/Researchers of Reproductive Medicine, because these treatments could be potentially responsible for mothers' and babies' complications. So far, the lack of well-designed and unbiased studies makes further conclusions difficult to be drawn.

Abstract
Infertility affects one in 6 couples in developed nations, resulting in an increasing use of assisted reproductive technologies (ART). Both ART and subfertility appear to be linked to lower birth weight outcomes, setting infants up for poor long-term health. Prenatal growth is, in part, regulated via epigenetically-controlled imprinted genes in the placenta. Although differences in DNA methylation between ART and control infants have been found, it remains unclear whether these differences are due to the ART procedures or to the underlying parental subfertility and how these methylation differences affect imprinted gene expression. In this study, we examined the expression of 108 imprinted genes in placental tissues from infants born to subfertile parents (n = 79), matched naturally-conceived controls (n = 158), and infants conceived using in vitro fertilization (IVF, n = 18). Forty-five genes were identified as having significantly different expression between the subfertile infants and controls, whereas no significant differences were identified between the IVF and control groups. The expression of 4 genes-IGF2, NAPIL5, PAX8-AS1, and TUBGCP5-was significantly downregulated in the IVF compared with the subfertile group. Three of the 45 genes significantly dysregulated between subfertile and control placentae-GRB10, NDN, and CD44 -were found to have a significant positive correlation between expression and birth weight. Methylation levels for these 3 genes and 4 others-MKRN3, WRB, DHCR24, and CYR61-were significantly correlated with expression. Our findings indicate that epigenetic differences in placentas resulting from IVF pregnancies may be related to the underlying subfertility in parents using IVF rather than the IVF procedure itself.

Abstract
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common endocrine disorder in women of reproductive age and affects fertility and pregnancy in cases of oligoanovulation. Ovulation induction is often used to treat anovulatory patients with PCOS, but many of these women fail to conceive and resort to assisted reproductive technologies. Alterations in oocyte competence (OC) are considered potential causative factors for subfertility in women with PCOS. In this review we present and critically assess all recent clinical and experimental data regarding OC in women with PCOS. Our analysis demonstrates that the contribution of OC to reproductive potential in women with PCOS varies and largely depends on the PCOS phenotype and comorbidities associated with PCOS.

Abstract
In the literature, there is growing evidence that subfertile patients who conceived after infertility treatments have an increased risk of pregnancy and perinatal complications and this is particularly true for patients who conceived through use of high technology infertility treatments. Moreover, high technology infertility treatments include many concomitant clinical and biological risk factors. This review aims to summarize in a systematic fashion the current evidence regarding the relative effect of the different procedures for high technology infertility treatments on the risk of adverse pregnancy and perinatal outcome. A literature search up to August 2016 was performed in IBSS, SocINDEX, Institute for Scientific Information, PubMed, Web of Science and Google Scholar and an evidence-based hierarchy was used to determine which articles to include and analyze. Data on prepregnancy maternal factors, low technology interventions, specific procedures for male factor, ovarian tissue/ovary and uterus transplantation, and chromosomal abnormalities and malformations of the offspring were excluded. The available evidences were analyzed assessing the level and the quality of evidence according to the Oxford Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine guidelines and the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation system, respectively. Current review highlights that every single procedure of high technology infertility treatments can play a crucial role in increasing the risk of pregnancy and perinatal complications. Due to the suboptimal level and quality of the current evidence, further well-designed studies are needed.
