Abstract
The novel composite photocatalytic material perylene diimides/Fe2O3@C (PDIs/Fe2O3@C) was constructed by a simple hydrothermal-calcination method and an oil bath method. 20 % PDIs/Fe2O3@C displayed a 16.4-fold increase in the rate of tetracycline (TC) removal over Fe2O3@C at 8 min. The main factor that enhanced photocatalytic performance was due to the combination of PDIs with Fe2O3@C, which effectively improved the phenomenon during the self-assembly of highly agglomerative PDIs, increased the specific surface area of Fe2O3@C, exposed more reaction sites, and promoted the activation of peroxymonosulfate (PMS) by Fe2+/Fe3+; and secondly, the composite of two different materials, both organic and inorganic, which effectively promoted the photogenerated electron transfer and the separation of electron-hole pairs, the a new S-scheme electron transport pathway is formed, which effectively promoted the photogenerated electron transfer as well as the e--h+ separation, which was more favorable for the activation of PMS. The whole reaction pathway and product toxicity were thoroughly evaluated by Fukui function calculations, Liquid Chromatograph Mass Spectrometer (LC-MS), and Toxicity Estimation Software Tool (T.E.S.T.) simulation results, which demonstrated the rationality of the degradation pathway and the greatly reduced product toxicity. Moreover, the composites were effective and versatile for all other antibiotics (chlortetracycline (CTC), ciprofloxacin (CIP) and sulfadiazine (SDZ)). As an advanced oxidation process, the activation of PDIs/Fe2O3@C under visible light shows its potential application in pollutant degradation, which provides new perspectives and ideas for further effective treatment of real wastewater.

Abstract
The binding between water components (dissolved organic matters, anions and cations) and pharmaceuticals influences the migration and transformation of pollutants. Herein, the impact of water matrices on drug degradation, as well as the electrical energy demands during UV, UV/catalysts, UV/O3, UV/H2O2-based, UV/persulfate and UV/chlorine processes were systemically evaluated. The enhancement effects of water constituents are due to the powerful reactive species formation, the recombination reduction of electrons and holes of catalyst and the catalyst regeneration; the inhibition results from the light attenuation, quenching effects of the excited states of target pollutants and reactive species, the stable complexations generation and the catalyst deactivation. The transformation pathways of the same pollutant in various AOPs have high similarities. At the same time, each oxidant also can act as a special nucleophile or electrophile, depending on the functional groups of the target compound. The electrical energy per order (EEO) of drugs degradation may follow the order of EEOUV > EEOUV/catalyst > EEOUV/H2O2 > EEOUV/PS > EEOUV/chlorine or EEOUV/O3. Meanwhile, it is crucial to balance the cost-benefit assessment and toxic by-products formation, and the comparison of the contaminant degradation pathways and productions in the presence of different water matrices is still lacking.

Abstract
The adsorption and photo-Fenton degradation of tetracycline (TC) over Fe-saturated nanoporous montmorillonite was analyzed. The synthesized samples were characterized using XRD, FTIR, SEM, and XRF analysis, and the adsorption and desorption of TC onto these samples, as well as the antimicrobial activity of TC during these processes, were analyzed at different pH. Initially, a set of adsorption/desorption experiments was conducted, and surprisingly, up to 50% of TC adsorbed was released from Mt structure. Moreover, the desorbed TC had strong antibacterial activity. Then, an acid treatment (for the creation of nanoporous layers) and Fe saturation of the montmorillonite were applied to improve its adsorption and photocatalytic degradation properties over TC. Surprisingly, the desorption of TC from modified montmorillonite was still high up to 40% of adsorbed TC. However, simultaneous adsorption and photodegradation of TC were detected and almost no antimicrobial activity was detected after 180 min of visible light irradiation, which could be due to the photo-Fenton degradation of TC on the modified montmorillonite surface. In the porous structures of modified montmorillonite high, ˙OH radicals were created in the photo-Fenton reaction and were measured using the Coumarin technique. The ˙OH radicals help the degradation of TC as proposed in an oxidation process. Surprisingly, more than 90% of antimicrobial activity of the TC decreased under visible light (after 180 min) when desorbed from nanoporous Fe-saturated montmorillonite compared to natural montmorillonite. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time that such a high TC desorption rate from an adsorbent with the least residual antimicrobial activity is reported which makes nanoporous Fe-saturated montmorillonite a perfect separation substance of TC from the environment.

Abstract
Here, a simple one-step calcination method uses glycolic acid (GA) and urea to synthesize C-O band structure modified carbon nitride with broad spectral response, which is used to construct a peroxymonosulfate/visible light (PMS/vis) system. The solid-state 13C NMR proved that C-O band structure was successfully introduced into the carbon nitride. Density functional theory (DFT) calculation show that the introduction of C-O band structure shortens the band gap of 0.05 g GA modified CN (0.05 GA-CN). Besides, Ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS) further illustrate that the 0.05 GA-CN has a higher charge density and promotes the degradation of pollutants. In PMS/vis system, 0.05 GA-CN can completely degrade bisphenol A (BPA) within 36 min. In addition, 0.05 GA-CN can also degrade bisphenol E (BPE) and bisphenol F (BPF). The cyclic voltammetry (CV) curve show that the introduction of C-O band structure enhances the activation ability of PMS. At the same time, 0.05 GA-CN/PMS has enhanced the activity of degrading BPA under blue light (450-462 nm), green light (510-520 nm) and red light (610-625 nm). This research provides a new method to synthesize carbon nitride with enhanced electron density for degradation of bisphenol pollutants in PMS/vis system.

Abstract
In the conventional Fenton system, the relatively low efficiency of Fe (II) regeneration is a significant drawback. To address this shortcoming, a novel floating Z-scheme photo-Fenton catalyst FeMo3Ox/g-C3N4/EP was prepared by a facile dip-calcination method, in which iron and molybdenum oxides with mixed valence states (FeMo3Ox) and graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) were loaded on the expanded perlite. The removal efficiencies reached the maximum at 98.0%, 93.1% and 97.1% for tetracycline, oxytetracycline and chlortetracycline, respectively, after 60 min dark adsorption and 60 min photo-Fenton process. The aid of dual ion (Fe and Mo) synergy system and photoreduction by Z-scheme photocatalyst enhanced the Fe (II) regeneration, resulting in the excellent performance. Radical scavenger experiment, electron spin resonance spectra (ESR) and X-ray photoelectron spectra (XPS) were used to confirm the mechanism of free radicals' formation and Fe/Mo redox cycling. ·OH, ·O2- and 1O2 played important roles in the pollutant's degradation, while the generation of ·O2- was enhanced due to the floatability in this system. The possible degradation pathways of TC were put forward according to the results of mass spectrum and Orbital-Weighted Fukui Function. Overall, this work provides new insights on the cooperation between iron-based mix oxides and semiconductor in the photo-Fenton system.
