Abstract
A Mannich reaction of deprotonated, highly enantioenriched α,α-disubstituted N-tert-butanesulfinyl ketimines with isatin-derived ketimines was developed to prepare 3-amino-3-substituted oxindoles bearing an acyclic quaternary stereogenic carbon substituted with two sterically similar groups. The excellent stereocontrol of the deprotonation enabled the formation of metalloenamine intermediates with stereodefined geometry, while the precise facial selectivity of the C-C bond formation allowed the construction of contiguous quaternary and tetrasubstituted stereocenters with excellent stereoselectivity.

Abstract
SBA-Pr-Is-TAP was synthesized via functionalization of SBA-15. The synthesized hybrid nanomaterial was characterized by various techniques including FT-IR, TGA, XRD, SEM, and BET. SBA-Pr-Is-TAP could precisely bind Fe3+ and Cr2O72- ions among a range of different species in aqueous media, consequently acting as a nanoporous chemosensor of Fe3+ and Cr2O72- ions. An excellent linear relation was observed between the nanoporous chemosensor and ion concentrations, with acceptable detection limits of 2.43 × 10-6 M and 3.96 × 10-7 M for Fe3+ and Cr2O72- ions respectively.

Abstract
Multicomponent reactions (MCRs) are a valuable tool in diversity-oriented synthesis. Its application to privileged structures is gaining relevance in the fields of organic and medicinal chemistry. Isatin, due to its unique reactivity, can undergo different MCRs, affording multiple interesting scaffolds, namely oxindole-derivatives (including spirooxindoles, bis-oxindoles and 3,3-disubstituted oxindoles) and even, under certain conditions, ring-opening reactions occur that leads to other heterocyclic compounds. Over the past few years, new methodologies have been described for the application of this important and easily available starting material in MCRs. In this review, we explore these novelties, displaying them according to the structure of the final products obtained.

Abstract
An organometal catalytic conversion of 3-aminooxindoles for the diastereo- and enantioselective synthesis of homoallylic aminooxindoles has been described. The asymmetric allylic alkylation of 3-aminooxindoles with allyl carboxylates proceeded smoothly to afford a series of chiral 3-allyl-3-aminooxindoles. This work offers an alternative route to build these scaffolds. The application of this protocol is also highlighted by a significant conversion of products to the potential applicable spiro[indoline-3,2'-pyrrolidin]-2-one derivatives.

Abstract
BACKGROUND As a matter of fact, nitrogen as a hetero atom among other atoms has had an important role in active biological compounds. Since heterocyclic molecules with nitrogen are highly demanded due to biological properties, 4-phenylurazole as a compound containing nitrogen might be important in the multicomponent reaction used in agrochemicals, and pharmaceuticals. Considering the case of fused derivatives "pyrazolourazoles" which are highly applicable because of their application for analgesic, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antidiabetic activities as HSP-72 induction inhibitors (I and III) and novel microtubule assembly inhibitors. It should be mentioned that spiro-pyrazole also has biological activities like cytotoxic, antimicrobial, anticonvulsant, antifungal, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, and cardiotonic activities. OBJECTIVE Urazole has been used in many heterocyclic compounds which are valuable in organic syntheses. This review disclosed the advances in the use of urazole as the starting material in the synthesis of various biologically active molecules from 2006 to 2019. CONCLUSION Compounds of urazole (1,2,4-triazolidine-3,5-dione) are the most important molecules which are highly active from the biological perspective in the pharmaceuticals as well as polymers. In summary, many protocols for preparations of the urazole derivatives from various substrates in multi-component reactions have been reported from different aromatic and aliphatic groups which have had carbonyl groups in their structures. It is noted that several catalysts have been synthesized to afford applicable molecules with urazole scaffolds. In some papers, being environmentally friendly, short time reactions and high yields are highlighted in the protocols. There is a room to synthesize new catalysts and perform new reactions by manipulating urazole to produce biologically active compounds, even producing chiral urazole component as many groups of chiral urazole compounds are important from biological perspective.

Abstract
The isatin core system is of immense importance due to the highly reactive prochiral C-3 position, which paves an easy way to construct large arrays of spirooxindole heterocyclic motifs. Herein, we depict an isatin-derived and 3,3'-disubstituted oxindole-appended epoxy-acrylate undergoing Cp2Ti(III)Cl-mediated reductive oxirane-ring opening with concomitant intramolecular 5-exo-trig radical cyclization leading to tetrahydrofuran-based oxa-spirooxindole systems. The fused spirooxindole structural feature is embedded in many natural products and tends to exhibit a wide spectrum of biological activities. The presence of more than one quaternary center and the availability of multiple functional groups like hydroxyl, ester, or lactone in the resultant products expand the scope of synthetic applications of the newly acquired oxa-spirooxindole molecules.

Abstract
A one-pot squaramide-catalyzed enantioselective ring-reorganization domino sequence (Michael addition/intramolecular ring-opening/lactamization) of 3-hydroxyoxindole and methyleneindolinone, which can be readily derived from 3-oxindole, has been established in this work. As a result, novel polycyclic quinolinone-spirooxindoles bearing three contiguous chiral centers were efficiently and step-economically assembled under mild conditions in high yields (up to 97%) with excellent enantioselectivities (up to >99% ee) and moderate to good diastereoselectivities (up to >95:5 dr).

Abstract
Asymmetric Mannich-type addition of 3,5-disubstituted-4-nitroisoxazoles to isatin-derived Boc-protected imines has been realized by using 0.01 equiv of amide phosphonium salt as a phase transfer catalyst. Our current methodology allows for the formation of 3-isoxazolylmethyl-substituted 3-aminooxindoles in excellent yields with good to excellent enantioselectivities. The practical value of this methodology was exemplified by a gram-scale synthesis of 5an, a key intermediate for the formal synthesis (+)-AG-041R.

Abstract
An organocatalytic enantioselective Mannich reaction between rhodanines and isatin-derived ketimines was developed. With 2 mol% of a quinine-based tertiary amine-thiourea catalyst C2, 3,3-disubstituted oxindoles with vicinal tetrasubstituted stereocenters were obtained in moderate-to-excellent yields (43-99%) with excellent diastereoselectivities (98 : 2-99 : 1 dr) and good-to-excellent enantioselectivities (up to 97% ee). The readily available substrates, low catalyst loading and high stereoselectivity are the major features.

Anal Bioanal Chem 2017; 409:3175-3185. Abstract
A highly ordered mesoporous silica material functionalized with isatin (SBA-Pr-IS) was designed and synthesized. Characterization techniques including XRD, TGA, BET, SEM, and FT-IR were employed to characterize the pore structure, textural properties, microscopic morphology, and molecular composition of grafted organic moieties of SBA-Pr-IS. The successful attachment of the organic moiety (0.34 mmol g-1) without the SBA-15 structure collapsing after the modification steps was confirmed. Fluorescence characterization of SBA-Pr-IS was examined upon addition of a wide variety of cations in aqueous medium and it showed high sensitivity toward Hg2+ ions. During testing in an ion competition experiment, it was observed that the fluorescence changes of the probe were remarkably specific for Hg2+ ions. Furthermore, a good linearity between the fluorescence intensity of this material and the concentration of Hg2+ ions was constructed with a suitable detection limit of 3.7 × 10-6 M. Finally, the applicability of the proposed method was successfully evaluated for the determination of Hg2+ ions in real samples. Therefore, SBA-Pr-IS can be used as an efficient fluorescence probe for Hg2+ ions. Graphical Abstract A novel organic-inorganic hybrid material was designed and synthesized by functionalization of SBA-15 mesoporous silica material with isatin. The evaluation of the sensing ability of SBA-Pr-IS using fluorescence spectroscopy revealed that the SBA-Pr-IS was a selective fluorescent probe for Hg2+ ion in water in the presence of a wide range of metal cations.

Abstract
Upon exposure to a ruthenium(0) catalyst, N-benzyl-3-hydroxy-2-oxindoles react with diverse alkynes to form products of C-H vinylation with complete control of regioselectivity and olefin geometry. This method contributes to a growing body of catalytic processes that enable direct conversion of lower alcohols to higher alcohols in the absence of stoichiometric organometallic reagents.
