Abstract
The reductive carbonylation of nitroarenes in the presence of MeOH and CO(g) is one of the interesting alternative routes without utilizing toxic phosgene and corrosive HCl generation for the synthesis of industrially useful carbamate compounds that serve as important intermediates for polyurethane production. Since homogeneous palladium catalysts supported by phen (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) are known to be effective for this catalysis, the heterogenized Pd catalyst was developed using the phen-containing solid support. In this study, we report the synthesis of a phen-based heterogeneous Pd catalyst, Pd@phen-POP, which involves the solvent knitting of a phen scaffold via the Lewis-acid-catalyzed Friedel-Crafts reaction using dichloromethane as a source for linker in the presence of AlCl3 as a catalyst. The resulting solid material has been thoroughly characterized by various physical methods revealing high porosity and surface area. Similar to the homogeneous pallidum catalyst, this heterogeneous catalyst shows efficient reductive carbonylation of various nitroarenes. The catalytic reaction using nitrobenzene as a model compound presents a high turnover number (TON = 530) and a reasonable turnover frequency (TOF = 45 h-1), with a high selectivity (92%) for the carbamate formation. According to the recycling study, the heterogeneous catalyst is recyclable and retains ∼90% of the original reactivity in each cycle.

Abstract
A palladium catalyzed stereo-convergent aminocarbonylation of 1,3-dienes with nitroarenes has been developed. The reaction of mixtrues of E/Z isomers of 1,3-dienes reacted with nitroarenes and produced (E,E)-dienamides with high stereoselectivities.

Abstract
A new approach for the preparation of carbamates via the copper-catalyzed cross-coupling reaction of amines with alkoxycarbonyl radicals generated from carbazates is described. This environmentally friendly protocol takes place under mild conditions and is compatible with a wide range of amines, including aromatic/aliphatic and primary/secondary substrates.

Abstract
Late-stage direct functionalization of the C-H bond is synthetically desirable. Metalloenzymes having metal-oxo active sites are well known to selectively catalyze hydroxylation and halogenation reactions with high efficiency. This review highlights the recent developments in the field of direct C-H halogenation and pseudohalogenation reactions catalyzed by the functional models of metalloenzymes.

Abstract
An efficient route to N-(hetero)aryl carbamates was developed through CuI/MNAO [2-((2-methylnaphthalen-1-yl)amino)-2-oxoacetic acid] catalyzed cross-coupling of (hetero)aryl chlorides with potassium cyanate in alcohols at 120-130 °C. This method utilizes broadly available substrates to afford various N-(hetero)aryl carbamates in good to excellent yields. Moreover, (hetero)aryl bromides and (hetero)aryl iodides were also reacted at low catalyst loadings and relatively low temperatures to provide N-(hetero)aryl carbamates.

Abstract
A mild and metal-free synthesis of aryl isocyanates from arylamines under an atmosphere of CO2 was developed. The carbamic acid intermediate, derived from the arylamine starting material and CO2 in the presence of DBU, is dehydrated by activated sulfonium reagents to generate the corresponding isocyanate. The latter can be detected by in situ IR and trapped by various amines and alcohols to make unsymmetrical ureas and carbamates, respectively. Dicarbamates can also be prepared in good yields via the mild dehydration of the corresponding dicarbamic acids.

Abstract
A nickel-catalysed reductive aminocarbonylation of (hetero)aryl halides employing readily available nitro(hetero)arenes as the nitrogen source has been developed.
Aminocarbonylation of aryl halides is one of the most useful methods in amide synthesis, but nitroarenes have not been used as a nitrogen source in this method even though they are more economical and accessible than anilines. Reported here is the development of nickel catalysis for the first three-component reactions of aryl halides, Co2(CO)8, and nitroarenes under reductive conditions to produce aryl amides. A wide range of (hetero)aryl iodides and bromides as well as nitro(hetero)arenes are suitable reaction partners, and high functional group compatibility has been achieved. The method might be used for the streamlined synthesis of aryl amides.

Abstract
Organic isocyanates are versatile intermediates that provide access to a wide range of functionalities. In this work, we have developed the first synthetic method for preparing aliphatic isocyanates via direct C-H activation. This method proceeds efficiently at room temperature and can be applied to functionalize secondary, tertiary, and benzylic C-H bonds with good yields and functional group compatibility. Moreover, the isocyanate products can be readily converted to substituted ureas without isolation, demonstrating the synthetic potential of the method. To study the reaction mechanism, we have synthesized and characterized a rare MnIV-NCO intermediate and demonstrated its ability to transfer the isocyanate moiety to alkyl radicals. Using EPR spectroscopy, we have directly observed a MnIV intermediate under catalytic conditions. Isocyanation of celestolide with a chiral manganese salen catalyst followed by trapping with aniline afforded the urea product in 51% enantiomeric excess. This represents the only example of an asymmetric synthesis of an organic urea via C-H activation. When combined with our DFT calculations, these results clearly demonstrate that the C-NCO bond was formed through capture of a substrate radical by a MnIV-NCO intermediate.

Abstract
A new method under metal free conditions has been developed for the direct transformation of N-aryl formamides to corresponding N-aryl carbamates with alcohols using hypervalent iodine reagents as oxidants. The reaction has been postulated to go through the formation of isocyanate intermediates.

Abstract
An efficient synthesis of aryl carbamates was achieved by introducing alcohols into the reaction of palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling of ArX (X = Cl, OTf) with sodium cyanate. The use of aryl triflates as electrophilic components in this transformation allowed for an expanded substrate scope for direct synthesis of aryl isocyanates. This methodology provides direct access to major carbamate protecting groups, S-thiocarbamates, and diisocyanate precursors to polyurethane materials.

Abstract
An efficient method for palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling of aryl chlorides and triflates with sodium cyanate is reported. The protocol allows for the synthesis of unsymmetrical N,N'-di- and N,N,N'-trisubstituted ureas in one pot and is tolerant of a wide range of functional groups. Insight into the mechanism of aryl isocyanate formation was gleaned through studies of the transmetalation and reductive elimination steps of the reaction, including the first demonstration of reductive elimination from an arylpalladium isocyanate complex to produce an aryl isocyanate.
