Abstract
Three novel 2-aminopyrazine Schiff bases derived from salicylaldehyde derivatives and their uranyl complexes were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, UV-vis, FTIR, molar conductance, and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA). The proposed structures were optimized using density functional theory (DFT/B3LYP) and 6-311G ∗(d,p) basis sets. All uranyl complexes are soluble in DMSO and have low molar conductance, which indicates that all the complexes are nonelectrolytes. The DNA binding of those Schiff bases and their uranyl complexes was studied using UV-vis spectroscopy, and screening of their ability to bind to calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) showed that the complexes interact with CT-DNA through an intercalation mode, for which the Kb values ranged from 1 × 106 to 3.33 × 105 M-1. The anticancer activities of the Schiff base ligands and their uranyl complexes against two ovarian (Ovcar-3) and melanoma cell lines (M14) were investigated, and the results indicated that uranyl complexes exhibit better results than the Schiff base ligands. Molecular docking identified the distance, energy account, type, and position of links contributing to the interactions between these complexes and two different cancer proteins (3W2S and 2OPZ).

Abstract
A series of heterocyclic ligand of copper(II) complexes have been synthesized by the reaction of copper(II) acetate with 5-(4'-derivatives phenylazo)-2-thioxothiazolidin-4-one (HLn) yields 1:1 and 1:2 (M:L) complexes depending on the reaction conditions. The elemental analysis, spectral (IR and ESR), conductance, magnetic measurements, and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) are used to characterize the isolated complexes. It is found that the change of substituent affects the thermal properties of azodye rhodanine derivatives and their Cu(II) complexes. The molecular and electronic structures of the investigated compounds (HLn) were also studied using quantum chemical calculations. According to intramolecular hydrogen bond leads to increasing of the complexes stability. The data revealed that the coordination geometry around Cu(II) in all complexes (1-4) exhibit a trans square planar by NO monobasic bidentate and the two monobasic bidentate in octahedral complexes (5-7). Electronic, magnetic data and ESR spectra proposed the square planar structure for all complexes (1-4) under investigation. The value of covalency factor [Formula: see text] and orbital reduction factor K accounts for the covalent nature of the complexes. The activation thermodynamic parameters, such as activation energy (Ea), enthalpy (ΔH(*)), entropy (ΔS(*)), and Gibbs free energy change of the decomposition (ΔG(*)) are calculated using Coats-Redfern and Horowitz-Metzger methods.

Abstract
A series of novel bidentate azodye quinoline ligands were synthesized with various p-aromatic amines like p-(OCH3, CH3, H, Cl and NO2). All ligands and their complexes have been characterized on the basis of elemental analysis, IR, (1)H and (13)C NMR data and spectroscopic studies. IR and (1)H NMR studies reveal that the ligands (HLn) exists in the tautomeric azo/hydrazo form in both states with intramolecular hydrogen bonding. The ligands obtained contain NN and phenolic functional groups in different positions with respect to the quinoline group. IR spectra show that the azo compounds (HLn) act as monobasic bidentate ligand by coordinating via the azodye (NN) and oxygen atom of the phenolic group. The ESR (g|| and g ) and bonding α(2) parameters of the copper ion were greatly affected by substituting several groups position of ring of quinoline and p-aromatic ring. The ESR spectra of copper complexes in powder form show a broad signal with values in order g|| >g > ge > 2.0023. The value of covalency factor β and orbital reduction factor K accounts for the covalent nature of the complexes. All complexes possessed an octahedral and square planar geometry. The thermal properties of the complexes were investigated using TGA and DSC. It is found that the change of substituent affects the thermal properties of complexes.

Abstract
Novel acid mono azo dye, 2-[(E)-(8-hydroxyquinolin-5yl)-diazenyl]-4,5-dimethoxybenzoic acid (HQD), was synthesized by coupling diazonium salt solution of 2-amino-4,5-dimethoxybenzoic acid (DMA) with 8-hydroxyquinoline (HQ). This dye was characterized by UV-vis, IR & Raman, (1)H and (13)C NMR spectroscopic techniques and elemental analysis. The normal coordinate analysis of HQD was also performed to assign each band in vibrational spectra. DFT (B3LYP and B3PW91) calculations were employed to optimize the geometry, to interpret NMR spectra, to calculate and to determine the stable tautomeric structure of the compound. Natural Bond Orbital (NBO) analysis was performed to investigate intramolecular interactions. The vibrational spectral data obtained from solid phase IR & Raman spectra were assigned based on the results of the theoretical calculations. UV-vis spectroscopic technique was employed to obtain the optical band gap of HQD. The analysis of the optical absorption data revealed the existence of direct and indirect transitions in the optical band gaps. The optical band gaps of HQD have been found 1.95 and 1.90eV for direct and indirect transitions, respectively.

Abstract
Two Schiff base ligands derived from condensation of phthalaldehyde and o-phenylenediamine in 1:2 (L(1)) and 2:1 (L(2)) having bifunctional coordinated groups (NH(2) and CHO groups, respectively) and their metal complexes with Ni(II) and UO(2)(II) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibilities and spectral data (IR, (1)H NMR, mass and solid reflectance) as well as thermal, XRPD and SEM analysis. The formula [Ni(L(1))Cl(2)]·2.5H(2)O, [UO(2)(L(1))(NO(3))(2)]·2H(2)O, [Ni(L(2))Cl(2)]·1.5H(2)O and [UO(2)(L(2))(NO(3))(2)] have been suggested for the complexes. The vibrational spectral data show that the ligands behave as neutral ligands and coordinated to the metal ions in a tetradentate manner. The Ni(II) complexes are six coordinate with octahedral geometry and the ligand field parameters: D(q), B, β and LFSE were calculated while, UO(2)(II) complexes are eight coordinate with dodecahedral geometry and the force constant, F(U-O) and bond length, R(U-O) were calculated. The thermal decomposition of complexes ended with metal chloride/nitrate as a final product and the highest thermal stability is displayed by [UO(2)(L(2))(NO(3))(2)] complex. The X-ray powder diffraction data revealed the formation of nano sized crystalline complexes. The SEM analysis provides the morphology of the synthesized compounds and SEM image of [UO(2)(L(2))(NO(3))(2)] complex exhibits nano rod structure. The growth-inhibiting potential of the ligands and their complexes has been assessed against a variety of bacterial and fungal strains.

Abstract
Novel five binuclear polymeric dioxouranium(VI) of azosulphadrugs [(azodrug substances) azobenzene sulphonamides] were prepared for the first time. The infrared spectra of the samples were recorded and their fundamental vibration wave number was obtained. The resulting polymeric uranyl complexes were characterized on the basis of their elemental analyses, conductance and spectral (IR, NMR, and electronic spectra) data. The ligation modes of the azosulphadrugs ligands towards uranyl(II) ions were critically assigned and addressed properly on the basis of their IR and their uranyl(II) complexes. The theoretical aspects are described in terms of the well-known theory of 5d-4f transitions. The coordination geometries and electronic structures are determined from a framework for the modeling of novel polymer complexes. The values of nu(3) of the prepared complexes containing UO(2)(2+) were successfully used to calculate the force constant, F(UO) (1n 10(-8)N/A) and the bond length R(UO) of the U-O bond. Wilson's, matrix method, Badger's formula, and Jones and El-Sonbati equations were used to calculate the U-O bond distances from the values of the stretching and interaction force constants. The most probable correlations between U-O force constant to U-O bond distance were satisfactorily discussed in terms of "Badger's rule", "Jones" and "El-Sonbati equations".

Abstract
Rare earth complexes of 5-(phenylazo)-8-hydroxyquinoline (HL) of composition [M(L)(2)X.H(2)O] [where M=La, Ce, Pr, Nd and X=NO(3)(-) or NCS(-)] have been prepared and characterized on the basis of their chemical analyses, (1)H NMR, magnetic measurements, conductance, and visible and IR spectral data. Composition, conductance and IR spectral data of the complexes show that the HL acts as a bidentate monobasic ligand. The visible spectra of Pr(3+) and Nd(3+) show characteristic f-f transitions, and the nephelauxetic effect (1-beta) of these transitions has been evaluated. These data indicate the weak involvement of the 4f orbitals in complex formation.

Abstract
Some binary and ternary novel complexes of dioxouranium(VI) with 8-hydroxy-7-quinolinecarboxaldehyde (OXH) have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, magnetic susceptibility measurements and spectral studies. Coordination effects on the vibrational spectra of the ligands have been investigated. The amine exchange reactions of coordinated Schiff bases in these complexes have been also studied, which reveal symmetrical tetradentate Schiff base complexes. Metal exchange reaction of dioxouranium(VI) complexes was obtained when reacted with tetradentate Schiff base complexes of Cu(II) with ZrCl(4)/UO(2)(CH(3)COO)(2) giving heterobinuclear complexes. Magnetic, electronic and IR spectral data suggest the configurations of distorted square planar ligand field copper(II) complexes. The ligands behave as bi-(O,O) and tetradentate (N(2),O(2)) donors. El-Sonbati equation has been used to evaluate the symmetric stretching frequency from which the F(U-O) and F(UO,UO)(-) were calculated. The bond distances of these complexes were also investigated.

Abstract
Synthesis and characterization of several new coordination compounds of dioxouranium(VI) heterochelates with bidentate hydrazono compounds derived from 1-phenyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone are described. The ligands and uranayl complexes have been characterized by various physico-chemical techniques. The bond lengths and the force constant have been calculated from asymmetric stretching frequency of OUO groups. The infrared spectral studies showed a monobasic bidentate behaviour with the oxygen and hydrazo nitrogen donor system. The effect of Hammett's constant on the bond distances and the force constants were also discussed and drawn. Wilson's matrix method, Badger's formula, Jones and El-Sonbati equations were used to determine the stretching and interaction force constant from which the UO bond distances were calculated. The bond distances of these complexes were also investigated.
