Abstract
BACKGROUND While it is recognized that social support can alleviate mental health symptoms, this relationship is not well-understood among Chinese pregnant and parenting immigrants in the United States. This study aims to bridge this gap by exploring the relationships between different types of social support and women's anxiety and depression, and examining how these associations vary with pregnancy status. METHODS Data were obtained from a cross-sectional survey conducted in Simplified Chinese or Mandarin between March-June 2021 among 526 women who were pregnant and/or parenting a child under five years. The Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS) Anxiety, Depression, and Social Support scales were used to measure anxiety, depression, and social support levels. Descriptive statistics, t-tests, chi-square tests, and Pearson's correlations were employed for analysis. Hierarchical regression was conducted to investigate the main and interaction effects of social support types and pregnancy status on mental health outcomes. RESULTS Compared to non-pregnant women, pregnant women reported higher mean scores for anxiety (non-pregnant: 55, pregnant: 59, p < 0.01) and depression (non-pregnant: 54, pregnant: 56, p = 0.02). Instrumental support displayed a significant main effect in relation to anxiety (β=-0.13, p = 0.01) and depression (β=-0.16, p < 0.01); emotional support exhibited a significant main effect solely on depression (β=-0.13, p = 0.01). Notably, the interaction effects between pregnancy status and both instrumental (β=-0.28, p = 0.01) and emotional support (β=-0.42, p < 0.01) were significant for anxiety. In contrast, informational support did not exhibit a significant impact on either anxiety or depression. CONCLUSIONS The findings indicate that tailoring support to the cultural context is crucial, especially for pregnant women in this Chinese immigrant community, with instrumental and emotional support being particularly beneficial in mitigating maternal anxiety.

Abstract
BACKGROUND In recent years, China has adjusted its fertility policies to optimize the population structure by implementing the two-child and three-child policies. Some patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) are considering the possibility of having a second child. The issue is whether the offspring from the second childbirth will have favorable long-term developmental outcomes. OBJECTIVE The research aims to investigate the long-term physical, neurological, and social-emotional development outcomes of children born to mothers with SLE at different parities. This study aims to offer valuable insights and references for SLE patients who are considering subsequent pregnancies and require information about potential developmental outcomes for their future children. METHODS The study conducted a follow-up of children born to SLE mothers who were admitted to the obstetrics department between January 1, 2016, and September 30, 2021. The SLE patients were categorized into two groups based on their history of live delivery: the primiparity group and the multiparity group. The physical development status, including weight, height (length), and other relevant factors, was evaluated in both groups. The Ages and Stages Questionnaires, Third Edition (ASQ-3) was utilized to assess the neurological development in five domains, encompassing communication, gross motor, fine motor, problem solving and personal-social. Social-emotional development was assessed using the Ages and Stages Questionnaires: Social-Emotional (ASQ:SE). The weight, height (length), body mass index, and ASQ-3 domain scores were standardized into Z-scores to enable comparison across various ages and genders. RESULTS The study revealed that the weight Z-score and BMI Z-score of the children in the multiparity group were significantly higher compared to those in the primiparity group. However, there were no statistically significant differences in the proportions of overweight and obesity between the two groups. In terms of neurological developmental outcomes, the Z-scores of the communication and gross motor domains in the ASQ-3 assessment were significantly higher in the multiparity group compared to those in the primiparity group. The proportion of abnormal screening for social and emotional development in the children of the multiparity group was lower than that of the primiparity group, although this difference did not reach statistical significance. CONCLUSIONS The long-term weight development, communication and gross motor development of children born to SLE patients in the multiparity group were better than those in the primiparity group. However, there was no significant difference in social-emotional development between the two groups.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic deleteriously impacted physical and mental health. In the summer of 2020, return-to-learn plans were enacted, including virtual, hybrid, and in-person plans, impacting educators and students. We examined (1) how return-to-learn plan was related to depressive and social anxiety symptoms among educators and (2) how psychological flexibility related to symptoms. METHODS Educators (N = 853) completed a survey via Qualtrics that assessed internalizing symptoms, psychological flexibility, and occupational characteristics. Two one-way analyses of variance (ANOVAs) examined between-group differences in return-to-learn plans across depression and social anxiety. Two hierarchical linear regressions examined the relation between psychological flexibility components and depressive and social anxiety symptoms. RESULTS Median T-scores were well above the national normative means for General Depression (median T-score: 81) and Social Anxiety (median T-score: 67). There were no significant differences between reopening plans in general depression nor social anxiety T-scores. Psychological flexibility accounted for 33% of the variance in depressive symptoms and 24% of the variance in social anxiety symptoms. CONCLUSIONS Results indicated high levels of psychiatric symptoms among educators during COVID-19, and psychological flexibility was associated with lower symptoms. Addressing educator mental health is of utmost importance in future research.

Abstract
Structure-related feeding practices may promote intuitive child eating behaviors and foster responsiveness to internal cues of hunger and satiety. Caregivers' ability to engage in structure-related feeding practices likely depends on a complex ecology of factors, including household- and child-characteristics. This study examined associations between household chaos and structure-related feeding practices, and the moderating effect of child temperament. Data were from 275 caregiver-toddler dyads from central Ohio. Child temperament was reported by caregivers when children were 18 months of age, whereas household chaos and structure-related feeding practices were reported by caregivers when children were 36 months of age. Multivariable linear regression models were constructed to assess the relationship between chaos and structure-related feeding practices. Interaction terms between household chaos and three dimensions of child temperament were tested to determine whether temperament moderated the relationship between chaos and structure-related feeding practices. Household chaos was not independently associated with structure-related feeding practices, but higher levels of child effortful control were associated with greater mealtime structure. There was a statistically significant interaction between household chaos and child temperamental surgency, such that greater levels of chaos were associated with less structured mealtimes, but only when children had low-surgency. Findings suggest household chaos and child temperament inform caregiver feeding practices, but the influence of chaos may depend on more proximal factors, like child temperament. Recommendations to improve caregiver-child feeding interactions should be sensitive to characteristics of the broader family home environment.

Abstract
Postpartum depression (PPD) occurs frequently among postpartum women. Stressful life events (SLE) have gradually been recognized as risk factors for PPD. However, research on this topic has produced equivocal results. The purpose of this study was to explore whether women who experienced prenatal SLE had a higher prevalence of PPD. Electronic databases were systematically searched until October 2021. Only prospective cohort studies were included. Pooled prevalence ratios (PRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated using random effects models. This meta-analysis included 17 studies involving 9822 individuals. Women who experienced prenatal SLE had a higher prevalence for PPD (PR = 1.82, 95%CI = 1.52-2.17). In subgroup analyses, a 112% and 78% higher prevalence of depressive disorders (PR = 2.12, 95%CI = 1.34-3.38) and depressive symptoms (PR = 1.78, 95%CI = 1.47-2.17) were detected in women who experienced prenatal SLE. The effect of SLE on PPD at postpartum different time points differed: PR = 3.25 (95%CI = 2.01-5.25) for ≤6 weeks, PR = 2.01 (95%CI = 1.53-2.65) for 7-12 weeks, PR = 1.17 (95%CI = 0.49-2.31) for >12 weeks. No obvious publication bias was detected. The findings support that prenatal SLE increase the prevalence of PPD. The effect of SLE on PPD tends to slightly decrease during the postpartum period. Furthermore, these findings highlight the importance of screening for PPD as early as possible, particularly among postpartum women who have experienced SLE.

Abstract
Early functional exercise plays a very important role in the rehabilitation and nursing care of children with fractures. We aimed to evaluate the role of temperament characteristics in the early functional exercise compliance in school-age children with limb fractures, to provide evidence to clinical nursing care. School-age children with limb fractures admitted to our hospital from January 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022 were selected. We collected the general information, evaluated the temperament characteristics and their functional exercise compliance in school-age children. Correlation and regression analyses were conducted to assess the correlation of temperament characteristics and early functional exercise compliance. A total of 126 school-age children with limb fractures were finally included. There were 68, 36, and 22 children that were rated as easy-going, troublesome and initiate slow temperament, respectively. The children with easy-going temperament had the best early functional exercise compliance, followed by children with initiate slow temperament, and compliance of children with troublesome temperament was the worst. The reaction intensity factor in the temperament characteristics of school-age children with fracture was negatively correlated with early functional exercise compliance (P = .007). Reaction intensity was a risk factor for early functional exercise compliance in school-age children with fractures (P = .004). Health care providers must consider the influence of temperament characteristics on compliance in school-age children with fractures, and take targeted nursing measures according to different temperament characteristics of children to improve early functional exercise compliance in school-age children with fractures, so as to improve the functional recovery and prognosis of children.

Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic may configure an adverse prenatal context for early development. The aim of this study was to analyze the effects of pandemic-related negative experiences, prenatal anxiety and depression on the temperament of six-month-old babies. The sample consisted of 105 mother-child dyads. A longitudinal evaluation was carried out using pre- and postnatal online surveys. Mothers completed the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, the Beck Depression Inventory - II, the Pandemic Impact Questionnaire and the Infant Behavior Questionnaire Revised. Serial mediation models were tested, in which the pandemic-related negative experiences constituted the independent variable, the prenatal anxiety and depression were the mediators, and the children's temperament dimensions were the dependent variables. Pandemic-related negative experiences were indirectly associated with the offspring's negative affect and surgency through anxious symptomatology, which acted as a mediating variable. This was the first study to identify the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on temperament. Such an adverse context implies risks for child development. Public health policies aiming to evaluate socioemotional variables during early childhood become necessary to allow on-time interventions for lessening these risks.
