Abstract
Prussian blue (PB) is favored for its photothermal absorption capability in solar vapor generation applications. However, the photothermal conversion efficiency of current PB-based devices is limited by the material's poor dispersion. Herein, we report a method of incorporating PB in the interlayers of layered double hydroxides (LDHs) to prevent its aggregation. The dispersion is further enhanced and stabilized by the addition of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS). The thermal and water stability of PB is improved due to the rigid structure of LDHs and interactions between layers and anions. Elemental analysis confirms that with the increase of molar ratio of Mg/Al and the introduction of SDS, concentrations of PB are decreased accordingly. As a result, the rate of solar vapor generation is increased by 35.9% for powders containing 50 mg of equivalent PB. Of note, converting this material into a three-dimensional structure of high rebound foam further enhances solar water evaporation rate, from 0.79 kg m-2 h-1 to 0.98 kg m-2 h-1, with only 20 mg of equivalent PB, increasing the corresponding photothermal conversion efficiency from 53.8% to 66.3%.

Abstract
Nonlinear absorption coefficient and modulation depth stand as pivotal properties of nonlinear optical (NLO) materials, while the existing NLO materials exhibit limitations such as low nonlinear absorption coefficients and/or small modulation depths, thereby severely impeding their practical application. Here we unveil that introducing Jahn-Teller distortion in a Mott-Hubbard system, (MA)2CuX4 (MA=methylammonium; X=Cl, Br) affords the simultaneous attainment of a giant nonlinear absorption coefficient and substantial modulation depth. The optimized compound, (MA)2CuCl4, demonstrates a nonlinear absorption coefficient of (1.5±0.08)×105 cm GW-1, a modulation depth of 60 %, and a relatively low optical limiting threshold of 1.22×10-5 J cm-2. These outstanding attributes surpass those of most reported NLO materials. Our investigation reveals that a more pronounced distortion of the [CuX6]4- octahedron emerges as a crucial factor in augmenting optical nonlinearity. Mechanism study involving structural and spectral characterization along with theoretical calculations indicates a correlation between the compelling performance and the Mott-Hubbard band structure of the materials, coupled with the Jahn-Teller distortion-induced d-d transition. This study not only introduces a promising category of high-performance NLO materials but also provides novel insights into enhancing the performance of such materials.

Abstract
Herein we describe a novel spinning pump-probe photoacoustic technique developed to study nonlinear absorption in thin films. As a test case, an organic polycrystalline thin film of quinacridone, a well-known pigment, with a thickness in the tens of nanometers range, is excited by a femtosecond laser pulse which generates a time-domain Brillouin scattering signal. This signal is directly related to the strain wave launched from the film into the substrate and can be used to quantitatively extract the nonlinear optical absorption properties of the film itself. Quinacridone exhibits both quadratic and cubic laser fluence dependence regimes which we show to correspond to two- and three-photon absorption processes. This technique can be broadly applied to materials that are difficult or impossible to characterize with conventional transmittance-based measurements including materials at the nanoscale, prone to laser damage, with very weak nonlinear properties, opaque, or highly scattering.

Abstract
Surface terminations of two-dimensional materials should have a strong influence on the nonlinear optical (NLO) properties, but the relationship between surface terminations and NLO properties has not yet been reported. In this work, switching the NLO properties of MXenes (Ti3C2Tx) via "surface terminations modulation" is explored. The surface terminations of Ti3C2Tx are modulated by electrochemical treatment, resulting in different states (viz., Ti3C2Tx(pristine), Ti3C2Tx(═O rich), and Ti3C2Tx(-OH rich)). The sign and magnitude of the effective NLO absorption coefficient (βeff) change with the surface terminations. Ti3C2Tx(═O rich) shows a relatively large saturable absorption (SA) with laser excitation at 515 nm (βeff = -1020 ± 136.2 cm GW-1), while reverse saturable absorption (RSA) is found in Ti3C2Tx(pristine) and Ti3C2Tx(-OH rich). The RSA of Ti3C2Tx(pristine) and Ti3C2Tx(-OH rich) is attributed to excited-state absorption, while the SA of Ti3C2Tx(═O rich) is associated with Pauli blocking. With laser excitation at 800 nm, the βeff of Ti3C2Tx(-OH rich) is 113 ± 3.2 cm GW-1, 1.68 times that of Ti3C2Tx(pristine); the RSA is caused by photon-induced absorption. Our results reveal a correlation between surface terminations and NLO properties, highlighting the potential of MXenes in photoelectronics.

Abstract
Ferroptosis is a type of programmed cell death caused by the iron-dependent lipid hydroperoxide pathway and has attracted significant interest. However, Fenton reaction-dependent ferroptosis has shown unsatisfactory therapeutic effects in tumor therapy, mainly due to inadequate reaction conditions in the tumor microenvironment. Here, we report a new strategy for Fenton-independent pathway by employing photothermal nanozyme to overcome limitations of the low efficiency of Fenton reaction. Specifically, we used iron redox pair (Fe2+/Fe3+)-containing hollow mesoporous Prussian blue (HMPB) nanocubes as the iron sources to fabricate iron-loaded liposome (HMPB@Lip). HMPB@Lip not only exerts the photothermal therapy, but also functions as nanozyme catalyzing lipid peroxidation for ferroptosis therapy. Importantly, Fenton reaction-independent ferroptosis triggered by photothermal nanozyme achieved effective tumor ablation. Therefore, HMPB@Lip can be used as a potential multifunctional nanozyme for effective Fenton reaction-independent ferroptosis therapy.

Abstract
Lanthanide-based metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and coordination polymers (CPs) attract much attention as candidates for optical ratiometric thermometry applications. Thus far, excitation of these materials was mainly performed in the ultraviolet that drastically limits their applicability as sensors, e.g., in tissue biological thermometry. As a remedy for this constraint, for the first time, we leverage a nonlinear optical process, the three-photon absorption property of Eu,Tb-CPs to shift the excitation wavelength from ultraviolet into near-infrared region. Experiments demonstrate that three-photon induced thermometric responses of Eu,Tb-CPs follow excellent optical characteristics similar to those determined for one-photon excitation, yet are not identical. The relative sensitivity reaches a very high value of 2.91%K-1 in the physiological temperature region. We put forward a notion that utilizing multiphoton absorption is a general strategy for realizing NIR-to-VIS remote temperature sensing in practically any CP that is designed for UV-to-VIS thermometry.

Abstract
Prussian blue nanoparticles (PBNPs) with favorable biocompatibility and unique properties have captured the attention of extensive biomedical researchers. A great progress is made in the application of PBNPs as therapy and diagnostics agents in biomedicine. This review begins with the recent synthetic strategies of PBNPs and the regulatory approaches for their size, shape, and uniformity. Then, according to the different properties of PBNPs, their application in biomedicine is summarized in detail. With modifiable features, PBNPs can be used as drug carriers to improve the therapeutic efficacy. Moreover, the exchangeable protons and adsorbability enable PBNPs to decontaminate the radioactive ions from the body. For biomedical imaging, photoacoustic and magnetic resonance imaging based on PBNPs are summarized, as well as the strategies to improve the diagnostic effectiveness. The applications related to the photothermal effects and nanoenzyme activities of PBNPs are described. The challenges and critical factors for the clinical translation of PBNPs as multifunctional theranostic agents are also discussed. Finally, the future prospects for the application of PBNPs are considered. The aim of this review is to provide a better understanding and key consideration for rational design of this increasingly important new paradigm of PBNPs as theranostics.

Abstract
Co0.76Cu0.74[Fe(CN)6]·7.5H2O was prepared as a powder by a chemical co-precipitation method. The powder X-ray diffraction patterns were indexed to the typical face-centred cubic structure with the lattice parameter a 10.55(2) Å. The temperature dependence of the χ−1 curve obeys the Curie–Weiss law (χ = C/(T – θ)) in the temperature range of 180–300 K. According to Curie–Weiss law, the calculated θ value is −54.82 K. In the paramagnetic state at 300 K, the effective magnetic moment (μeff = (8χT)1/2) is 3.58 μB per formula unit. The calculated theoretical effective magnetic moment is 4.06 μB. The magnetic field cooling measurements under a 200 Oe applied magnetic field show that the saturation magnetization value at 2 K of the complex Co0.76Cu0.74[Fe(CN)6]·7.5H2O is 1.528 emu g−1.
