Abstract
Silylium ions are versatile Lewis acids in organic synthesis. While they have been well-known for the activation of σ donors, catalysis initiated by the activation of π donors remains underdeveloped, particularly for alkynes. Herein, we demonstrate an example of silylium-catalyzed alkyne heterodifunctionalization. The silylium ion generated in situ from HNTf2 and the silyl reagent serve as superior catalysts in the efficient silylphosphination and silylcyanation of electron-rich alkynes with excellent regio- and stereoselectivity. The compatibility of this protocol with strongly coordinating ligands (Ph2P and CN) not only complements the metal-catalyzed systems but also expands the scope of silylium-catalyzed reactions.

Abstract
The regio- and stereoselective carbosilylation of tosylynamides with allylic trimethylsilanes takes place under mild conditions in the presence of catalytic TMSNTf2 or HNTf2 to give (Z)-α-allyl-β-trimethylsilylenamides with good yields. Theoretical calculations show the activation of the C-C triple bond of the ynamides by the trimethylsilylium ion and formation of a β-trimethylsilylketenimonium cation. Further transformations of the products demonstrate the synthetic utility of this reaction.

Abstract
In this Perspective we discuss the ability of transition metal complexes to activate and cleave the Si-H and B-H bonds of hydrosilanes and hydroboranes (tri- and tetra-coordinated) in an electrophilic manner, avoiding the need for the metal centre to undergo two-electron processes (oxidative addition/reductive elimination). A formal polarization of E-H bonds (E = Si, B) upon their coordination to the metal centre to form σ-EH complexes (with coordination modes η1 or η2) favors this type of bond activation that can lead to reactivities involving the formation of transient silylium and borenium/boronium cations similar to those proposed in silylation and borylation processes catalysed by boron and aluminium Lewis acids. We compare the reactivity of transition metal complexes and boron/aluminium Lewis acids through a series of catalytic reactions in which pieces of evidence suggest mechanisms involving electrophilic reaction pathways.

Abstract
The radical chemistry of ynamides has recently drawn the attention of synthetic organic chemists to the construction of various N-heterocyclic compounds. Nevertheless, the ynamide-radical chemistry remains a long-standing challenge for chemists due to its high reactivity, undesirable byproducts, severe inherent regio- and chemoselective problems. Importantly, the ynamide C(sp)-N bond fission remains an unsolved challenge. In this paper, we observe Photoinduced radical trigger regio- and chemoselective ynamide bond fission, structural reshuffling and functionalization of 2-alkynyl-ynamides to prepare synthetically inaccessible/challenging chalcogen-substituted indole derivatives with excellent step/atom economy. The key breakthroughs of this work includes, ynamide bond cleavage, divergent radical precursors, broad scope, easy to handle, larger-scale reactions, generation of multiple bonds (N-C(sp2), C(sp2)-C(sp2), C(sp2)-SO2R/C-SR, and C-I/C-Se/C-H) in a few minutes without photocatalysts, metals, oxidants, additives. Control experiments and 13C-labeling experiments supporting the conclusion that sulfone radicals contribute to ynamide structural reshuffling processes via a radical pathway. Although ynamides have emerged as a versatile class of compounds for organic synthesis, the radical chemistry of ynamides usually proceeds with the expected connectivity largely intact. Here the authors show a methodology by which the C(sp)–N bond undergoes scission, alkyne migration and functionalization under blue LED light in the absence of metals or additives.

Abstract
The palladium-catalyzed silylcyanation of ynamides is described. This reaction is fully regioselective, delivering tetrasubstituted 2-aminoacrylonitriles derivatives exclusively. Unexpectedly, the nature (aryl or alkyl) of the substituent located at the β-position of the ynamide directly controls the stereoselectivity. The reaction tolerates a number of functional groups and can be considered as the first general access to fully substituted 2-aminoacrylonitriles. Given the singular reactivity observed, a computational study was performed to shed light on the mechanism of this intriguing transformation. Relying on the specific reactivity of the newly installed vinylsilane functionality, the scope of 2-aminoacrylonitriles has been enlarged by postfunctionalization.

Abstract
Here, we describe simple B(C6F5)3-catalyzed mono- and dihydrosilylation reactions of terminal alkynes by using a silane-tuned chemoselectivity strategy, affording vinylsilanes and unsymmetrical geminal bis(silanes). This strategy is applicable to the dihydrosilylation of both aliphatic and aryl terminal alkynes with different silane combinations. Gram-scale synthesis and conducting the reaction without the exclusion of air and moisture demonstrate the practicality of this methodology. The synthetic utility of the resulting products was further highlighted by the structural diversification of geminal bis(silanes) through transforming the secondary silane into other silyl groups. Comprehensive theoretical calculations combined with kinetical isotope labeling studies have shown that a prominent kinetic differentiation between the hydrosilylation of alkynes and vinylsilane is responsible for the chemoselective construction of unsymmetrical 1,1-bis(silanes). A B(C6F5)3/silane-based system enables the chemoselective dihydrosilylation of terminal alkynes. Using a combination of different types of hydrosilanes, a series of unsymmetrical or symmetrical 1,1-bis(silanes) could be constructed.![]()

Abstract
Here we reported the iridium-catalyzed hydrosilylation of internal alkynes under simple and mild conditions. The intrinsic functional groups of alkyne substrates were disclosed to be crucial in facilitating both the hydrosilylation process and related regioselectivity owing to their coordination capability towards the iridium catalyst. Utilization of the steric trimethylsilyl-protected trihydroxysilane proved to be another critical factor in ensuring the efficient proceeding of this process.

Abstract
Described herein is a comparative theoretical study of dehydrogenative C(sp)-H functionalizations of a terminal alkyne with group-14-based hydrides (HEEt3; E = Si, Ge, Sn) catalyzed by an Ohki-Tatsumi complex-a cationic Ru(II) complex with a tethered thiolate ligand ([Ru-S] = [(DmpS)Ru(PiPr3)][BAr4F]; Dmp = 2,6-(dimesityl)2C6H3; ArF = 3,5-(CF3)2C6H3). The calculations indicate that the energy barriers for heterolytic cleavage of the H-EEt3 bonds at the Ru-S sites of the Ohki-Tatsumi complex highly vary depending on the group 14 elements from 3.8 kcal/mol (E = Sn) to 10.5 kcal/mol (E = Ge) and 18.5 kcal/mol (E = Si), where Ru and S elements cooperatively serve as the Lewis acid and base, respectively. Likewise, the transfer of the group 14 cation (Et3E+) to the C-C triple bond to generate the β-element-stabilized vinyl cations-the rate-determining step (RDS) of the overall reaction-is predicted to be susceptible to the element's identity [Ea = 36.8 for Sn < 42.9 and Ge < 50.7 for Si (kcal/mol)]. The key transition states involved in the RDS are compared in terms of energy and structure within each system of the group 14 hydrides. The distortion/interaction-activation strain (DIAS) model analysis of the transition states responsible for dehydrogenative stannylation and hydrostannation of a terminal alkyne sheds light on the origin of the experimentally observed kinetic preference toward dehydrogenative C-H stannylation over hydrostannation.

Abstract
A highly enantioselective three-component reaction of ynamides with carboxylic acids and 2,2'-diester aziridines has been realized by using a chiral N,N'-dioxide/Ho(OTf)3 complex as a Lewis acid catalyst. The process includes the formation of an α-acyloxyenamide intermediate through the addition of carboxylic acids to ynamides and the following enantioselective nucleophilic addition to in-situ-generated azomethine ylides induced by the chiral catalyst. A range of amino acyloxyenamides are delivered in moderate to good yields with good ee values. In addition, a possible catalytic cycle with a transition model is proposed to elucidate the reaction mechanism.

Abstract
A highly enantioselective three-component hydroacyloxylation/1,4-conjugate addition of ortho-hydroxybenzyl alcohols, ynamides and carboxylic acids was developed under mild reaction conditions in the presence of a chiral N,N'-dioxide/Sc(OTf)3 complex, which went through in situ generated ortho-quinone methides with α-acyloxyenamides, delivering a range of corresponding chiral α-acyloxyenamides derivatives containing gem(1,1)-diaryl skeletons in moderate to good yields with excellent ee values. The scale-up experiment and further derivation showed the practicality of this catalytic system. In addition, a possible catalytic cycle and transition state model was proposed to elucidate the origin of the stereoselectivity based on X-ray crystal structure of the α-acyloxyenamide intermediate and product.

Abstract
Regioselective and stereoselective synthesis of trisubstituted alkenyl silanes via hydrosilylation is challenging. Herein, we report the first β-anti-selective addition of silanes to thioalkynes with B(C6F5)3 as the catalyst. The reaction shows broad substrate scope. The products were proven to be useful intermediates to other trisubstituted alkenyl silanes by Ni-catalyzed stereoretentive cross-coupling reactions of the C-S bond. A mechanism study suggests that nucleophilic attack of thioalkyne to an activated silylium intermediate might be the rate-determining step.

Abstract
A transition metal-free, four-component one-pot synthesis of polyfunctionalized fluorinated β-keto-imidates via the functionalized hydration of alkynes has been described. The intermediate 1,3-ketoamino moiety was obtained from easily accessible arylpropioladehyde and arlyhydroxylamine and was treated with Selectfluor delivering fluorinated β-keto-imidates. A wide variety of functional groups are tolerated under mild reaction conditions and the product applicability is highlighted.

Abstract
Enamides and enol ethers are valuable building blocks in synthetic chemistry, yet their stereoselective synthesis can be challenging. Herein, we report a new stereoselective synthesis of vinyl, aryl, alkynyl, alkyl and thio-substituted Z-enamides and enol ethers based on the use of vinylbenziodoxolone (VBX) reagents. The stable VBX reagents were synthesized by stereoselective addition of N- or O-nucleophiles on the corresponding alkynyl reagents in the presence of a catalytic amount of cesium carbonate. The VBX reagents were used in palladium-catalyzed cross-couplings at room temperature to access Z-enamides and enol ethers.

Abstract
The utility of an electron-deficient, air stable, and commercially available Lewis acid tris(pentafluorophenyl)borane has recently been comprehensively explored. While being as reactive as its distant cousin boron trichloride, it has been shown to be much more stable and capable of catalyzing a variety of powerful transformations, even in the presence of water. The focus of this review will be to highlight those catalytic reactions that utilize a silane as a stoichiometric reductant in conjunction with tris(pentafluorophenyl) borane in the reduction of alcohols, carbonyls, or carbonyl-like derivatives.

Abstract
A novel ynamide preactivation strategy enables the use of otherwise incompatible reagents and allows preparation of α,β-disubstituted enamides with high regio- and stereoselectivity. Mechanistic analysis reveals the intermediacy of a triflate-bound intermediate as a solution-stable, effective keteniminium reservoir, whilst still allowing subsequent addition of organometallic reagents.

Abstract
An efficient and convenient palladium-catalyzed direct intermolecular silylation of C(sp2)-H bonds by using disilanes as the silicon source with the assistance of a readily removable bidentate directing group is reported. This strategy provided a regio- and stereoselective protocol for exclusive synthesis of Z-vinylsilanes with reasonable to excellent yields and good functional group compatibility. Silylation of the isolated palladacycle intermediate revealed the Z-stereoselective pathway. Moreover, the practicality and effectiveness of this method were illustrated by a gram-scale experiment and further functionalization of the silylation product.
