Abstract
Crystalline porous materials have been extensively explored for wide applications in many fields including nonlinear optics (NLO) for frequency doubling, two-photon absorption/emission, optical limiting effect, photoelectric conversion, and biological imaging. The structural diversity and flexibility of the crystalline porous materials such as the metal-organic frameworks, covalent organic frameworks, and polyoxometalates provide numerous opportunities to orderly organize the dipolar chromophores and to systemically modify the type and concentration of these dipolar chromophores in the confined spaces, which are highly desirable for NLO. Here, the recent advances in the crystalline porous NLO materials are discussed. The second-order NLO of crystalline porous materials have been mainly devoted to the chiral and achiral structures, while the third-order NLO crystalline porous materials have been categorized into pure organic and hybrid organic/inorganic materials. Some representative properties and applications of these crystalline porous materials in the NLO regime are highlighted. The future perspective of challenges as well as the potential research directions of crystalline porous materials have been also proposed.

Abstract
Single crystals of two new metal tellurates Bi MTeO6 ( M = Al, Ga) with a honeycomb layered structure were obtained by the molten flux method and characterized. The Bi MTeO6 compounds both crystallize into a non-centrosymmetric trigonal space group of P312 (no. 149) with cell parameters of a = 5.0667(8) Å, c = 4.9920(16) Å and a = 5.107(3) Å, c = 4.932(6) Å, respectively. The non-centrosymmetry of BiAlTeO6 and BiGaTeO6 originates from the packing order of the octahedra. In these two structures, TeO6 octahedra and MO6 octahedra share edges and form a honeycomb open-framework with [Te MO6]∞ layers. The layers of [ MTeO6]∞ and [BiO6]∞ alternate and are connected along the c-axis by corner-sharing oxygen atoms to form the three-dimensional framework. The chiral compound BiGaTeO6 exhibits a powder second harmonic generation (SHG) response of ∼0.2 times that of potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KDP) and an absorption edge of 355 nm.

Abstract
A series of organically templated vanadium selenites has been prepared under mild hydrothermal conditions. Single crystals of [C5H14N2][(VO)3(SeO3)2(HSeO3)4], [C5H14N2][VO(SeO3)2], [(R)-C5H14N2][(VO)3(SeO3)2(HSeO3)4], and [(S)-C5H14N2][(VO)3(SeO3)2(HSeO3)4] were grown from VOSO4, SeO2, and 2-methylpiperazine. Controlling the initial pH of the reaction mixture allows for one to select between the compounds found in the VOSO4/SeO2/2-methylpiperazine system, as the solution pH directly affects the relative ratio of the HSeO3(-) and SeO3(2-) concentrations. Moreover, partial resolution of racemic 2-methylpiperazine is observed in [C5H14N2][(VO)3(SeO3)2(HSeO3)4], which is understood through the use of a one-dimensional Ising model. The use of enantiomerically pure 2-methylpiperazine results in fully ordered and fully resolved structures.

Abstract
Single crystals of a new beta-octamolybdate salt containing protonated 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane cations were prepared under mild hydrothermal conditions. This compound, [C6H13N2]2[C6H14N2][Mo8O26], was then used as a starting material in the synthesis of [C6H13N2]6[Mo16O53F2].4H2O, which contains previously unreported [Mo16O53F2]12- anions. The structure-directing properties of gamma-[Mo8O26]4-, a likely intermediate in this pH-dependent transformation, are responsible for the site selection of the fluoride incorporation. [Mo16O53F2]12-, the largest reported polyoxofluoromolybdate cluster, expands upon the limited number of such anions in the literature. The structures of both compounds were determined using single-crystal X-ray diffraction.

Abstract
Prompted by our interest in new photochromic organic-inorganic hybrid materials, the reactivity of [Mo7O24]6- toward a structure-directing reagent diamine such as 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane (DABCO) and piperazine (pipz) has been investigated, and three new molybdenum(VI)-containing compounds, namely, (H2DABCO)3[Mo7O24].4H2O (1), (H2DABCO)[Mo3O10].H2O (2), and (H2DABCO)2(NH4)2[Mo8O27].4H2O (3), have been synthesized and characterized. New synthetic routes to achieve the known compounds (H2DABCO)2(H2pipz)[Mo8O27] (4), (H2pipz)3[Mo8O27] (5), and (H2DABCO)2[Mo8O26].4H2O (6) are also reported. All of these compounds contain different poly(oxomolybdate) clusters, i.e., discrete [Mo7O24]6- blocks in 1, infinite polymeric chains 1/infinity[Mo3O10]2- in 2, 1/infinity[Mo8O27]6- in 3-5, and 1/infinity[Mo8O26]4- in 6, associated in a tridimensional assembly by hydrogen bonds with H2DABCO2+ and/or H2pipz2+ cations. Interconversion pathways and chemical factors affecting the stabilization of the different species are highlighted and discussed. At the opposite of 6, compounds 1-5 show photochromic behavior under UV excitation. Namely, compounds 1-5 shift from white or pale yellow to pale pink, reddish brown, or purple under UV illumination depending on the chemical nature of the mineral framework, with the kinetics of the color change being dictated by the nature of the organic component and by the organic-inorganic interface.
